Garage Bands & Success: 25 Ways To Make Things Work 2007-02-09 22:30:38 So you're in a band, and it's not really going anywhere. You've got big plans! You want to get out of that garage and into some choice venues. Maybe you want to pick up some cash along the way for your troubles. Or just make the journey a little more interesting. However you define success, here are 25 ways to make your garage band more successful.
Success
is... getting a great place to play
1. Make a press kit. Have a few copies on hand at all times. Many bands don't have one, and honestly, it is utterly stupid not to.
2. Use the mail. Send your press kit to a few (reasonable) places you'd like to play. It's a long shot, but you never know.
3. Play for free. If it's a place you really want to play, and you know you can bring the house down, offer to play for free on a trial basis for a show or two. Making the stage owner money means you get to come back.
4. Partner up. Get another good band in a complimentary music style, and work together to book as a package. If the venue doe Read more:Garage

What a weird day! 2007-02-27 19:23:41 I think it's been on of those days today, JJ and I were working on a new track when everything seemed to go wrong, percussion filtered itself, and the lead instruments seemed to have some kind of warble effect on them for no apparent reason.
Must get the equipment checked out before any further mixing is done to the other tracks.

Our Archives 2007-03-02 10:05:12 Some of you have emailed us saying that when they click a month in the archives on the left, then the listed posts still show the current posts.
Sadly this is an error with the template that we use, but you may or may not of noticed that when you do click January for example, when the page reloads the calendar changes to the month that you have selected and then you can click on a day in that month for a list of posts for that day so you can still check out the previous months posts that way.
We have also added a Previous/Next button at the botton of the main page, the archives and sections so that you can go forward and back through 20 posts per page. We have have a similar option on the individual posts with each post having a link to the next and previous post near the top of the posts for an example CLICK HERE Read more:Archives
Trackbacks 2007-03-05 14:56:02 We are sorry to say that due to some tiny minded prat thinking it's fun to post over 200 trackback to drug sites, we have removed the trackback option from the blog.
Sorry to all those legitimate users of the trackback option, but those tiny minded wasters have spoiled it for everyone else!
Electric or Acoustic Guitar: Which is Right for You? 2007-03-06 17:49:36 So you've chosen to take up the guitar. Good for you! Now comes the hard part: which guitar is the best to start playing on? Well, the answer to that question depends on many things. It depends on what kind of music you enjoy listening to, what kind of music you are looking to play, and what kind of level you wish to reach--amateur or professional.
Before we go over each topic, let us first discuss the differences between Electric
and Acoustic
guitars.
The main difference between an Electric and Acoustic guitar is the fact that the Electric must be plugged into an amplifier in order to be heard loudly, while the Acoustic can be played and heard without the use of an amp. This is because Acoustic guitars have sound holes, which produce the sound. Electric guitars, on the other hand, don't have a sound hole and are thus known as Hollow-body's. Electric hollow-body’s can be heard by the people playing them, but are inaudible to others without the use of an amp. Additionally, the Read more:Guitar

Wide Open Space exclusive download 2007-03-14 10:49:45 Our album Wide Open Space
is now available exclusively to download at Project Overseer productions, for the amazing value price of $15.50 that's roughly about £7.99.
The album had some fantastic reviews when it was first released back in late 2003, and the labum still stands the test of time.
This a vast move away from the sounds and style of the first three albums, this the fourth album has taken on the Electonica/Dance/Trance sound, it has been described as a cross between Orbital and Enigma.
RCD4 went into production in March 2003, tracks which I had thought were not in the same style as "Futurism" and were not used, were remixed and updated for use on the new album.
These included "Causeway, Fantasy, State Of Mind, Do It Right baby and The China Case".
Added to these were previously unreleased tracks that were far faster with hard hitting bass line and plenty of FX.
After several remixing sessions, sifting through several designs for the artwo Read more:Wide Open Space
