New Name Same Blog
2008-03-14 16:25:53
After a very long self debate I Pampered & Primped Up will become Casual Lavish with Pampered Up as a sub-title. The name Casual Lavish is a bit more me. I am very casual in my style but I do tamper with lavish items. The change has been on mind for months now and I've played with several names but nothing felt right. There is no need to change any bookmarks or feed. Everything will remain the same except soon the title will show something different. If figured if I was going to change I need to do it now instead of a year down the road. I am looking to change my template at some point. I have a few great ones from Chic & Sassy but I'd like to have two different ones to change between. I have an idea in mind but sadly at this time I'll to creat it all myself. Zoe is backed up and I can't

Busy week!
2008-03-12 18:21:47
Sorry for the lack of entries this week. In one week I have 4 (well 5) birthdays to celebrate. My father in-law, Mother in-law, son, mine and my aunts but we have the same birthday. My son's birthday is the one that is really keeping me busy. He turned 13 (I am the mother of a teenager. Help me!!) and has us running around planning a last minute party because he didn't want one until Sunday. Teenagers! I'll have a few entries the rest of the week but will be back on track next week.

MakeupAlley Member Water Marbling/Marbelising/Marbelizing Pics
2008-03-10 18:18:33
I am not sure of the correct term so I used all three. :) Basically it is the art of dropping nail polish into water and dipping in your nails. This is starting to become more popular as people are realizing it is easy to do at home. The lovely gals on the MakeupAlley.com nailboard have taken to this like ducks in water. These gals true nail art lovers and I will add some of the kindest people I've met on the internet. As promised here are their pics: heffnerMM (aka the fab person that wrote the marbling tut below) Bratt_the_Catt wackymichy Many thanks to these lovely MUAers for allowing me to showcase their pictures!!! Neutrogena Wave
2008-02-28 16:51:15
I had to give the Wave a try. My friend loves her Wave and I was hoping to love mine. I like it but it is not love. Review:Skin type, oily/combo acne prone large pores Even at my age I am still battling acne. Thanks to Proactiv it is under control. That doesn't mean my skin couldn't use a weekly boost. I whipped out the wave and got ready to use it. Attached the pad and started it up. Interesting having the vibration on my face. After rinse off I noticed my face did feel soft but it was red. Given that my face is always red after cleansing and keeps a red hint this was nothing new. The next day I woke up with some whiteheads around my nose. Not giving it any thought I used the Wave in the shower. By night I had even more whiteheads. I knew at that point it was the Wave. Even though I h

Tartx on Etsy
2008-02-21 15:39:08
As you can probably tell I am a big Etsy shopper. I love unique jewelry and often find it not easy to locate items of my interest. Etsy has helped in a big way with that problem. Recently I discovered Tiffini Elektra X on Etsy. Her work popped right out at me and ordered two items. I've been stalking a few more for my collection. Being a huge Alice in wonderland fan I took right to her creations. Of course she offers way more than Alice items. Most of her work is narrative jewelry with her own twist. Here's the lovely creations I purchased. Domino necklace features a stamped and hand colored image of the Caterpillar from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Extra pins that she sent me. A pendant representing Cinderella. *click pictures for a better view

Lip Dupe
2008-02-18 17:38:47
I often look through my pictures of makeup swatches and in a folder I found a picture where I attempted a lip dupe for a friend. I no longer have any of the colors and of course I am kicking myself because I want to wear the duped lip color. I go through my stash and then check my "over flow" stash that I keep in box just in case I might need the colors. Sure enough I have two similar dupes to MAC Blow. NYX Chloe and NYX Eucalyptus. Both a little different from each other but perfect for any Blow lover. I also have NYX eggplant to darken the color and make it more of a dupe with what Christina is wearing. My camera is currently not at home but here is the original dupe. Click for a better view

FOTD & NOTD Feb 14
2008-02-14 16:00:36
I am not a huge fan of V-day but I do celebrate it in a very small way. We never go all out mostly because we are always doing things for each other. Been with my honey for 15 years this year and everyday is like V-day for us. He is in Hawaii right now taking care of some family things so I am all alone. :( He took the camera with him so I did one of my past looks for today. Click for a better view Serendipitypink was my previous domain. Guess that will teach me to watermark and not keep a copy. The look is exactly what I used today though. and of course the nails TMI is from the new China Glaze collection. Hope everyone has a great day!! I'll be back Sunday or Monday as my hubby comes home late tonight and we have so much to do over the next few days.

Interview with Savor on Etsy
2008-02-12 00:49:03
I was lucky enough to stumble upon a wonderful soap maker on Etsy. I've really fallen for Savor Soaps. They have been amazing for my skin I love the unique scents. I asked the owner Lisa if she would be so kind as to grant me an interview and she graciously agreed. After the interview I give my own review on Savor. You can find Savor at (me)What sparked your interest in soap making? (Lisa)I picked up the hobby when I moved to San Francisco; I had a lot of free time and didn't know anyone here. I studied library books primarily, and used the internet a little for research, but in 2000 the internet was still somewhat of a baby. It just didn't have the quality of content that it does today. I didn't know anyone who made soap, so I had very little preconceived ideas about how to ma

The comfy dress
2008-02-11 18:25:16
When it comes to clothes I am not a girlie girl but the Kimono Bow Dress allows me to look feminie and sexy without having to feel like my clothes are tight and uncomfortable. You will find me jeans and T-shirt more often than you will anything dress y. When I found these dresses I couldn't help but buy a few. I could wear these everyday! For the makeup I usually go with a thin line of black eyeliner (usually MAC blacktrack fluidline) on the top lashline only, 2 layers of mascara, Benefit Moonbeam just under the brow and natural or nude lip. This way the dress is what gets noticed but my face still looks stunning. You can find these at the follow stores/sites:BebeSaks Fifth AvenueHSNChicStar Which has several styles

Face of the Day
2008-02-08 15:38:42
Now that I am no longer working (long story but I own my own business and always worked from home) I tend to not wear makeup as much. I've even toned down my looks. Could be age or just lack of creative output. Either way when I do get a look that is at least somewhat picture worthy I promise to get it posted. My father is coming into town over the weekend so I will not have any more post until Monday. Have a great weekend!!! Here is one I did back on the 29th. Click for a better view Also the nail color I had on at the time. I know the look doesn't exactly go with the polish. Later that night I put on a red but forgot to take pics.

Proud to be Super Bad...Soap user that is
2008-02-05 18:21:01
One of my most recent bath purchases from The Soap Box Company I finally reached out and tried Super bad after lusting after them for over a year now. I got the Super Bad - Try Me – Sugar Set, Tea & Intrigue Soap and Bond Girls Body Powder. Overall I am very happy with the purchase. They are priced reasonably when compared to many other etailers. Here's my reviews: Tea & Intrigue Soap Described by Super Bad as:Velvety black tea, tawny tobacco leaf, a touch of smoke, cooled with cucumber. I am a tobacco scent fan. At first I never thought the scent would appeal to me but when used right it is delightful. I was disappointed when my soap did not have much of the tobacco or smoke smell. Mine had more of the black tea and cucumber scent which made for a light and airy shower. The soap has

Healthy Shine On Hair
2008-02-01 16:24:04
My hair is one of my most beloved features. If I am having a bad hair day nothing is going to go right. I've had to keep things simple in order to have the type of hair that makes me happy. That meant no more chemical dyes. Now I use henna and indigo (body art quality only will explain in a later entry) to keep my brown hair from looking ashy. No more styling products that cause buildup. I am using more natural shampoo and conditioner. Keep my oil treatments to only 2 a month and attempt to not wash my hair everyday. I am a firm believer that your nautral oil will help your hair. I'll admit it is not easy since I have an oily scalp. Good thing I like hats. I know many of you probably almost fainted at the idea of not coloring your hair. This was more a personal choice for me because I wou

My recent NOTD Zoya Maya I am not sure if I have mentioned it before but I cut my own hair. I started doing it when I could not get the cut I wanted from any stylist. As I have gotten to know my own hair I am able to go beyond the average layer cut. This past Monday I cut my hair about an inch below my ears. This was a big move for me having a round face. I want to grow my hair back out and I had to get rid of the layers. Plus with summer coming up I wanted an easy hair-do. I can not get that good of a pic but to give an idea it is like Kellie Pickler's hair from her recent American Idol appearance but a bit shorter. Have any of you taken a chance with a cut that might not be the perfect one for your face shape? If you are not an AI fan here is the video. Her performace starts right a

May National toss your makeup month?
2008-03-21 15:39:21
There I was flipping through my Good HouseKeeping April issue to see the stating: Good HouseKeeping and CVS/pharmacy have designated May as National Toss Your Makeup Month - a reminder to replace old makeup and personal products. They're not only ineffective but can be harmful as well. From March 30 through April 26, CVS/pharmacy will celebrate National Toss Your Makeup Month, providing you with exclusive incentives at their stores nationwide, as well as on cvs.comSo how many of you almost passed out? The thought of ditching my beloved MAC Maroon pigment almost makes me sick to my stomach. I agree that some products need to be tossed. Foundation and mascara are top on the list. Other items I'd consider are liquid liners, body lotions, dried up cream products, etailer liquid soaps and any

Casual Lavish is up & running!
2008-03-26 17:16:12
As I mentioned not long ago. Pampered & Primped Up would be having a name change. Well all is done. I am still not sure about the template. I am going for a more simple look but small changes might be made as I play with things. The domain www.pamperedup.com will redirect to Casual Lavish. Please be advised that blogger is having some issues with domains and you must use the www before the domain. I just noticed this problem today and their help board is not that much help. The new change will not effect any subscribers. I will be updating all networks and communities in the next 2 weeks. Some post may still need to be fixed and it could take me a few days. Please be patient with me as I fix these problems. Thanks everyone for reading my blog!
