Today, I had to tell somebody about themselves because they were disrespecting me and countless other people at the same time. Getting a Job after Graduation 2008-03-05 21:32:00 Finding a job after graduation is so hard and stressful. You've known it was coming for 4 years, but somehow it sneaks up on you at the last minute. Every single thing requires experience, so if you don't have it, things can seem pretty glib. There needs more programs that usher you from college to the workforce. I struggled with it for a bit and most of my friends have to. There seems to be this pattern of us feeling insecure and then putting it off onto others. Today, a random homeless guy referred to me and a friend as "faggies" because we didn't get him food. He was insecure about himself, so he wanted to put it off on us. Other ways are how girls will often put down other girls based on looks, cause they are insecure about how they look. Something must be done to promote different behaviors-like actually working on ourselves for example. Countless subcultures are forced to hide for fear of being labeled a sexual deviant. Why do we care so much what other people do in bed? I sometimes struggle with my judgement of others based on sex. I feel that as sexual beings we should be free to enjoy the act with consenting adults. However, I will quickly label someone a slut if I feel they are sleeping with someone that is with someone else. I think that judging people for what they enjoy in bed is different than looking down on what they do in bed. Which Is It Better To Be: Naive Or Cynical? 2008-02-28 11:47:00 A lot of times, people look down on cynicism as some kind of personality defect. We are taught to not look for the wrong in everything and just trust things to fall into place. However, can such an attitude lead us to become naive. I for one think that being a little cynical is good for you. Journalism, News, Law Enforcement, and countless other careers and facets of life are built on cynicism.
