World's Greatest Mom
2008-05-08 01:50:29
It's been quite sometime since I've posted some tags and awards here. But there's this award that I just received from Janet and Lena. I couldn't help to post in and pass it to two very, very special people in my life and my HUbby's life. It's the World 's Greatest Mom Award. Thank Janet and Lena for passing this award to me!Now I want to give this award to none other than my Nanay (who's not a blogger but a loyal reader of my blog ) and Amma ( my Hubby's Mom). They are both the World's greatest Mom for us.For my Nanay, thank you so much Nay for everything you've done for all of us. I'm so thankful to God for giving you as my Nanay. I'm extremely blessed and I couldn't ask for anything more. You gave us your love, you took care of us, raised us well, prayed for us, encouraged us and gave u

Weighty Issues
2008-05-08 01:23:30
I could really feel I've gain a lot of weight since our break in Malaysia. Well, who couldn't resist all the original , yummy chicken curry, roti, nasi lemak plus all the pizzas, cakes and burgers (YUM!). Yeah, we really ate our hearts out for the last 3 weeks. Now that we're back home, my Hubby and I made a pact to eat only healthy and nutritious food and do some exercise. Let's see if this pact will last long. :)For me, I still have a lot of weight to lose (due to my previous pregnancy and overeating, hehehe!) and as much as possible I would want to have a fast weight loss. I know that I must have a consistent exercise routine plus a sensible, nutritious diet. These two factors are the most important things to a new lifestyle of health and fitness whether you have 20 or 200 pounds to lo

Home Sweet Home
2008-05-07 13:19:08
We're all back home now. We've been away for three weeks and it seemed like a very long time. Though it was quite tiring but it was indeed a blessed trip. We spent some quality time with friends and family, some whom we haven't seen for a long time. I just didn't enjoy the time spent with them but also the food as well. Yes, all my ' food desires' had been granted too. We were able to eat all my favorite food and some my favorite shops. Our Li'l girl enjoyed the trip most, she was so happy to meet of lot of friends 'who can speak English'. Our boy had a grand time too, he has been carried, cuddled, kissed and hugged by everyone but it seems he likes it since he didn't complain at all. As for my Hubby, you don't have to ask him if he enjoyed his stay at his homecountry, you just need to lo

Home Improvement 101
2008-05-07 12:17:53
We really need to fix quite a number of things here in our house now. Our bedside lamp and our daughter's lamps are not working again. So, here I am typing and blogging in the dark with the laptop screen glaring at me. I can't turn on our main light too since our baby is sleeping and he can't sleep with the main light on. I'm not sure if our lamps are broken or we just need to replace the bulb, but I hope for sure that this will all be fixed by tomorrow.Speaking of lamps and lights, I just went through a site with such a number of beautiful lamps. I don't know, but I just love to look at lamps. Whenever I'm in a furniture shop or home improvement shop, I never miss to linger at the lighting section and especially look at the contemporary lighting area which has beautiful high tech lighti

Of Visas and MetroJaya Sale
2008-04-24 11:24:07
Yippee, mission accomplished #2 - I already got my Malaysian visa! I was whining in my last post about the long queues and hassles of getting my visa but surprise, surprise, the deparment seemed to have change a LOT! We applied for my visa yesterday. We woke up late so, we only got there at about 8:00 am. Normally, we go there by 7am since it's usually packed with people. But to our surprise, there were no queues! My Hubby got the priority number and we got #6025 while they were serving #6019. We just waited for a few minutes and by 9 am we were already out of the building. That was indeed a breakthrough! And when we checked our receipt, my visa will be done the following day! wow! No more long queues nor waiting for many days...and not ot mention, the officer served us with a smile. Wow

Missing In Action
2008-04-20 03:52:09
I've been 'missing' in the blogosphere for many days now and it seems I've been gone for many weeks already. I missed my routine of blogging and visiting my friends' blogs. We are now in Malaysia, been here for a few days and we're settled now. I already renewed my Philippines passport and tomorrow we will be applying for a renewal of my Malaysian visa. I pray that the officers here won't give us a hard time. Even if this is the 4th time I'm renewing but I still feel tensed up everytime we go through this process. It's really quite stressful to do all these processing yearly. Not to mention, we all have to wake up early in the morning, queue up as early as 7 am with other hundred migrants, get our number, fill up some forms and have it certified at the Commission of Oaths (that's another

Weekend Snapshot 11
2008-04-13 12:13:45
Today is Songkran Festival here in Thailand. Songkran is the Thai NEw year and the Thais celebrate by sprinkling or pouring water on people. They believe that as they start the New year, everything must be cleansed and the bad spirits will be cleansed by washing with water. So, this explains why everyone is out there sprinking or pouring water to whoever they meet. They pour cold water and put the prickly heat powder on everyone.Since today is a Sunday, we all went to church. I was expecting people to come to church drenched with water but quite the contrary, everyone came in dry. I don't know how they did that..they either came to church by car or maybe some of them brought clothes with them. IN the church, we celebrated Songkran by pouring water on the elderly people's hand, not to clea

Approved!
2008-04-11 09:46:59
Before we went out today, I first checked my mails. For the past days, I've been checking my mail several times a day. I was anticipating for something but there wasn't anything special from my inbox but just some updates from the directories that I applied for. But this morning, when I read my inbox, my eyes almost popped out when I saw the word "APPROVED". It was the mail that I've been waiting for. An 'approved' mail from payperpost! Yippee!! Finally, I'm a certified PPP Postie. I've been waiting for this time to come and now it is here! You might be wondering why I'm so excited to get approved from payperpost or PPP as they call it. I've heard a lot of good things about them from my fellow blogger friends, that's why. There is a lot of opportunities or tasks offered to bloggers. As I s

Looking Forward For...
2008-04-11 07:55:36
I didn't realized until this afternoon that it'll just be a few days left and we'll all be travelling to Malaysia. I'm quite excited for this trip. Actually, it's not a holiday since we need to do a lot of things..attend meetings, renew my passport, visas (yes, 2 visas) and etc. I think I'm excited because I'll be seeing our family in Taiping with my sis in law who's due to deliver her son anytime this week! So, it means we will be able to see the baby!! Other things I'm looking forward for is seeing our friends, getting inside all the big malls, seeing things and eating food that's not found here in Thailand. Does that means I'm tired of Thailand? I think not, I'm sure I won't get tired of this country. Maybe I just need a break for awhile and the fact that I just love to travel no matt

Baking Mood
2008-04-07 13:38:03
I think I'm technically a 'frustrated baker'. I just love to look over all the baking blogs and sites, copy -paste all the yummy recipes (but never got to bake them) and wish that I could bake delicious and beautiful cakes. I used to tell my Hubby that once our kids are grown up, I would bake all my favorite cakes (the complicated ones) and even dreamed that maybe we could put up a Bakeshop here in Thailand since cakes are so expensive here and served in miniscule sizes. Actually, it was just recently that I learned how to bake. I learned from my sister who can bake with her eyes closed. But for me, I would have to look at the recipe over and over again and still end up forgetting to put the eggs or 'oh no! it's supposed to be baking soda and not baking powder!' toink! That's what I mean

Of Degrees and Career
2008-04-07 13:08:48
The 'graduation season' is over now and for sure a lot of 16-17 year old students are busy choosing colleges or universities and thinking really hard of the courses or career path that they should take. What's surprising now is that there's a wide selection of degrees and career options available. Several years ago for example, there was only BS ( Bachelor of Science) in Commerce and years later it divided into BS Management and BS Accountancy. Before, when you talk about Medical career, it was only Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry and Midwifery. Now, there are specific courses or careers such as Radiologic Technology or X-ray technician, Surgical Technician, Ultrasonography, Orthodontic Technician and etc. All these were unheard of during my time. Am I that old then? Kidding aside, what's gre

Sometimes we don't understand our partner's requirements, or even our own. We all have a "love tank" that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.Take the quiz ( If you take the quiz, please let me know your result..I'm curious!)I got this quiz from Aisha. I always thought that identity theft just happens in the movies. But in reality, it can happen to anyone of us. That's why we must always be very careful with our personal information like social security numbers, credit card numbers and etc. There are a lot of scams happening right now and hackers on the lure to steal our identity and personal information. As a result of this theft, we lose our money or pay huge amount of money on items and products we didn't spend at all. The most prevalent thing that happens now is stealing our personal information online. There was once I received an email from an online payment site that says that my login in name and password is needed because I violated some terms and it might result in freezing my account. I was quite surprised with the email sinc

Cartoon by Dave Walker Hahahah! Don't you feel like this sometimes? I don't literally look out of my window and wait for something to happen (can't see anything from our window) but sometimes (and I just did, a moment ago) I would sit in front of the computer, my fingertips are ready to type but I would just stare at the blank screen for a long time and I won't have any idea what to blog. ;) Good that I found this cartoon, then now I have something to blog about..LOL!!!

Mizpah Mart
2008-04-03 12:48:39
Several years ago, my family used to run a minimart. It was called Mizpah Mart. Now that I've mentioned it, made me miss those days in the store. We had shelves, stocks of goods with small shopping cart or baskets. Even if it was just a very small business but the investment for that mini mart was quite high plus the amount of hardwork invested to run it. Unfortunately, the 'Asian Crises' hit and we also got affected. Our mini mart had closed down and we kinda lost a lot since the set up cost was quite high. If I would have to run a business in the future, I guess I would opt for online business. No need for big investments on shop space, no need to hire sales clerks and no need to spend so most of my waking hours in the store. All I need for an online business will be the products that I

Daydreaming...
2008-04-02 22:51:34
Things are quite busy here now especially for my Hubby. I've been reflecting over our past weeks and I realized that we were really busy from classes, summer workshops and visitors. I'm not complaining but I think I've come to a point where I just need a break and spend time with family esp. my Hubby. We hardly have time for each other these days since his days start early and with guests around, he only comes home after dinner. I always have a choice to go with him while entertaining guests or go with him to the center, but with kids around, it's a bit of a hassle especially when they're tired and cranky. So, I'd rather stay home. So for the past days, I've been dreaming of our family to go somewhere...to a quiet place and just spend quality time with each other. I've searched the net an

Weekend Snapshot 11

We went to Phuket this weekend (that explains my absence in the blogosphere) , actually it was plainly for 'business' but of course, when you're in Phuket, you can't help but mix a little pleasure with it. So, during our free times we went sightseeing and even had a chance to dine in in Patong Beach. We surely enjoyed our trip! When we went around, I was continually amazed at how beautiful the beaches are and gave me a chance to truly appreciate God's wonderful creation. It's just awesome! I know my photos won't do justice in capturing the beauty of what we saw ( and not ot mention I didn't take a lot of photos)..:) But anyways, take a look at it and maybe it'll encourage you to visit Thailand and see it for yourself. When we went to Patong Beach at night, we saw all these signages al

God-sent Friends
2008-03-25 07:08:08
Yesterday, I finally had my tooth extracted and whew, it was so painful even if I already had a shot of anesthesia. The dentist said that it has already been infected which explains the pain. And worse, I was also feeling feverish yesterday (actually until now). I'm not sure if it's because of my infected tooth or maybe I'm having tonsilitis since my tonsils are painful everytime I swallow. So, since I just had my tooth extracted, I couldn't carry my baby so much because he's already so heavy. In the Philippines, we don't carry heavy things after tooth exraction because maybe "mabughat ko" (hahahah!sorry, I'm too lazy to look for the English term for this). My Dentist didnt say anything about this but anyways, I wanted to refrain carrying heavy things. So after the tooth extraction,we jus

Taggy Time Part 2

It's Tag time once again and I would like to thank my friends for tagging me. Now, it's my turn to tag some of you and I hope you haven't done these tags yet or I hope you're not too busy to do it. By the way, if I happen to tag you, don't worry..you can do the tag at your own time. No pressure. Sometimes, tags can make you busy and it takes quite sometime to do it especially the choosing part, who to tag and the linking part too. :)Make a wish Meme I got this tag from Bogie. Thanks Gie!Here are the rules:1. Think about what it is that you want more than anything, what your heart’s desire and fondest wish is, and what it is that you would wish for if you were to see the above wishing star flame across the night sky.2. Cannot Speak..TOOTHACHE
2008-03-22 12:45:44
This evening, I had a terrible toothache and I was reminded of the Filipino joke where a foreigner would talk to a Pinoy and he will tell the foreigner, "Cannot speak toothache!" just to avoid speaking English. :)It was my first time to experience a veryyyyy painful toothache (sorry for the redundancy but have to double it for you to imagine how painful it is!) where no matter how I'd like to talk but I just couldn't because it was so painful. I could even barely nod my head for 'yes' or shook it for 'no'. The sharp pain which went through my brain started when I chewed my food. OUCHHH!! It lasted quite long so I was quiet for a long time. Then after that, I even managed to joke with my Hubby and my friends and told them, "Now, I understand why they make toothache as an excuse for not spea

Since we are in a country that doesn't use English as the primary language, we're quite in a dilemma regarding our girl's education. We've decided not to send her to a local school since all subjects will be in Thai and the bilingual schools and international schools are also expensive. So far our only choice for now would be ho
