Dividing Iraq 2007-02-04 18:39:10 Â Â Â Â The U.S. Nation Building concept of dividing Iraq
into three parts is a concept of forced segregation of the Iraqi peoples by ethnicity. It will not only divide families from one another, but will also divide the collective peoples of Iraq from their rich history. This forced segregation of the Iraqi peoples also represents structural racism in that it points to one nation making policy again upon the Arabs in such a way as to contain and control them in a cultural-historical sense. Such policy decisions have historically led to increased violence and racial tension.    Peace, AmaalÂ
Electoral Strategy vs. Integrity on 2008 Campaign Issues 2007-01-29 05:49:52     A recent New York Times front page article, Decisive on 9/11, Giuliani Now Faces a Big Choice,  read, "Rudolph W. Giuliani, who developed a national reputation for decisive and reassuring leadership after 9/11, now faces the odd challenge of having to reassure some supporters that he can be decisive about a very different issue: running for president (Roberts, 2007)" What is striking about this article; is not this article in particular, but how many other articles of the like, adult citizens are bombarded with as we draw toward a national election. The article concerns itself with the strategies of gaining leadership but fails to mention one area of policy or one social issue that should actually matter to citizens.Â
Another quote in the article read, "Despite the delay, his aides argue that the accelerated pace of early primaries next year actually benefits a well established figure like Mr. Giuliani — much; they say, as his national stature w Read more:Strategy

The Iraq Study Group Report: Three Points of Consideration 2007-01-26 04:51:06 The IraqStudyGroup
does point to the potential for chaos in Iraq, urges policy for an internal approach of strengthening Iraq’s ability to stand on its own, and stresses an external approach of increased diplomacy with other Middle Eastern Countries. However, there is much to be concerned about in terms of what the report does not convey. Here are three abbreviated points of concern on the report:
- Rather than representing Iraq as sliding toward chaos; it would be more accurate to say that Iraq, and the occupation of Iraq, is in a state of chaos, as civil society has been erased there.
- The report places great emphasis on the importance of infrastructure but also claims victory as a goal as well. Rebuilding infrastructure is a symbol of peace but victory is a symbol of war. When these objectives are brought together they usually represent the long term goals of nation building and occupation.

Persian Arrests in Iraq 2007-01-22 04:33:35 Â Â Â Â Earlier this month the New York Times reported, "The administration has long accused Iran of meddling in Iraq
, providing weapons and training to Shiite forces with the idea of keeping the United States bogged down in the war.” (Sanger & Gordon, NY Times, 2007)  It is notable that as the U.S. occupation of Iraq stretches out further, the U.S. policy on the Iranian Shiite in Iraq is moving closer and closer to the policy that Saddam held toward the Iraqi-Iranians when he was in power. The U.S. reach has recently moved into Kurdistan, which has been seen as protected by the U.S. until now. "American forces in Iraq conducted at least two raids against suspected Iranian operatives, including the raid on Erbil”. (Sanger & Gordon, NY Times, 2007).    Peace, Amaal       Â

The Iraq Plan Components 2007-01-15 04:10:47 The new Iraq
Plan includes:Â
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Almost 18,000 additional U.S. combat troops
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Over $400 million to double the number of U.S. civilian workers in Iraq
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â A decision to not engage in talks with Iran and Syria about Iraq
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Approximately $10 billion required from Iraq for reconstruction
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Easing of the policy of the de-Baathification of IraqÂ
Not only does the new Iraq Plan escalate the elements of war, but the number of U.S. citizens gaining employment in Iraq is to double by over $400 million rather than to increase the employment of the ailing Iraqi peoples in their own land. In a time, when diplomacy and non-violent communication is needed more than ever, a decision has been made not to engage in such communication with Iran and Syria. The Iraqi peoples have already been punished, as the U.S. occupation required that those who held formal roles in the formerly socialized government, be fired Read more:Components
Policy Plight for Iraq 2007-01-08 02:21:37 United States policy on Iraq
as an increasing focus of concern is a relatively recent phenomenon. Until recently, the greater focus of concern has been on winning the war on Iraq. Recently, The Wall Street Journal published an opinion editorial, Dynamic Ideas for Iraq, (Senor and Martinez, 2007), on the need for policy change in Iraq. The editorial calls for five areas of policy change towards Iraq.
The first policy change is referred to as No More Half Measures. It says, "In light of the deteriorating situation in Iraq; and the president's anemic poll ratings, this may be the last opportunity to shift his policy toward the good. This means erring on the side of more troops; not fewer, even if it is politically painful in the short run" It is however, difficult to locate the policy shift in such an approach when it appears to be in line with the current approach that continues towards the escalation of war.
The second policy change refers to A New Military Strategy Calls for Read more:Policy
Iraq War Responsibility 2007-02-10 15:40:26 Â Â Â Â The United States continues to call on Iraq
is to take responsibility for themselves regarding the “Iraq War
” or “War in Iraq” or “War on Terror”.  However, it is critical for U.S. politicians to acknowledge that the Iraqis did not ask us to invade their country in the first place. Therefore, constructing the notion that Iraqis are responsible for the U.S. winning the war against Iraq, actually serves to release the U.S. from taking responsibility for the terrible consequences of its invasion and of its continued war on Iraq.     Peace, Dr. Amaal V.E. Bush Buying Peace? 2007-02-11 19:21:15 U.S. policy on Iraq has become increasingly oxymoronic. "Bush will ask for military and diplomatic operations in Iraq and Afghanistan this year and seek 145 billion for 2008, a senior Pentagon official said Friday (Taylor, 2007)" Â
Diplomacy cannot be won through the delivery of war.
