Once Again... I Should Be Sleeping 1970-01-01 00:59:59 But OH so much is running through my brain! 3:00 came and there was nothing I could do to shut it off.Well, BabyGirl and Boyfriend made it official last night... they are officially broken up. And yes, she then hit rock bottom . Unfortunately I was at a formal dinner/awards presentation shin-dig so I wasn't here during it and although Coffeehusband was, remember, he is a guy and an idiot so he couldn't tell anything was going on - because of course she was upstairs sobbing her heart out and on computer with the Boyfriend Ex-Boyfriend screaming (typing in caps?) it out with him.I actually had a marvelous night over-all. The food was fabulous, better, I think, than any dinner thus far in the last 2 years. Ok, but truly... the dessert. Oh my! This is the best tirimisu I've ever had in my entire life. Amazing. Simply amazing. If I can somehow recreate this exact version in my own kitchen in the course of the next year or two I will be a demi-god. I found out they actua Read more:Again

Thursday Rambling.... Get Your Coffee! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 In Kel's case I know she'll be grabbing her espresso shots. Jody will be sipping tea. The rest of you grab your coffee. Let's chat!So this week, with my miserable cold, I was going through tissues left and right. I came to the end of the box at my desk in the office. I was going to throw it away and was getting ready to step on it and smash it when I spied a curious thing. A hole. Cut out of my tissue box! Now, it's MY tissue box, at MY desk. Since last Fall I don't even share an office with anyone. It's locked every night when I go home except on Fridays when I have to leave it open for the cleaning crew. But during the time it's unlocked someone, at some time, snuck in with a pair of scissors and snipped my Box Tops For Education coupon from it! LOL. While it still had all my tissues in it!I couldn't help but laugh... and of course take a picture of the 'new' box of tissues (with the label still in place) and my tissues that have been ransacked for their $.10 la Read more:Coffee

The Sweet Sound of............. 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I'm sitting here trying to surf, but I swear I've come to the end of the internet.I'm tired, but it's the kind of tired where you know you can't sleep, you just toss and turn and like it or not you are up for the day.And then, suddenly, from the kitchen I hear the sweet sound of...... Coffee!Yes, Coffeehusband (my hero) programmed the coffeemaker last night. I can now hear and smell the sound and aroma of freshly brewed java.Ahhhh.Join me.Gasp! What's that sound!?Is someone making COFFEE!? Read more:Sound

A Good Day for BabyGirl! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I called BabyGirls cellphone around 1:00 to leave a message for her to see how she was doing and tell her someone wanted her and her sister to babysit tonight and I figured I would check with her because;A. If she had a lousy day and ex-boyfriend was a prick, she may be sad and want to spend the night helping out at a 6 year olds slumber party with 11 little girls.orB. She had an awesome day and showed ex-boyfriend she was SO over him and she was ready to head to the varsity basketball game with her girlfriends tonight and enjoy herself. She called back.Option: B"Mom it was an awesome day!"Coffeegirl will be going to the babysitting/helper job herself tonight.THENShe came home from cheerleading practice and I asked her how ex-boyfriend was today?"Fine.""What kind of fine though? Did he talk to you?""He has Art class with me and he said; "Can I sit by you?""What did you say?""I said, 'I don't care' and you know what? He was wearing the shirt I gave him for Christmas!""Oh man!""Y Read more:Good Day
Babbling Because I Changed My Mind 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Since I was up early and all (see the post below this) I sat and sipped coffee and wrote a little story about Coffeehusbands solo trip to the grocery store last night. Just as I finished writing it I realized I changed my mind and didn't want to post about it anymore. Delete! Poof.So here I am, with lots of little things I could write about but instead I just feel like regular old 'coffee talk' - you know, when we have mindless chatter over our morning coffee before heading off to work.Work. Which reminds me... today "WOULD HAVE BEEN" my last day. You know, if I didn't have such a sense of responsibility and a midwestern work ethic. So today is my 'official' last day at work but I'll be there at least another week or two I think as I don't believe they have started interviewing for my position yet. And really, since we got the "please send us $4750.00 this week" notice from our mortgage company on Monday I have to admit that every hour I work means food on our table Read more:Babbling
This mornings weather and........ 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Please note the *feels like* temperature this morning:Minus 20 degrees. That would be 20 degree's below zero because it's zero degree's with a 17 mph wind and 60% humidity.Coffeekid: Bye Mom.Me: Where is your coat?Coffeekid: In my lockerMe: What about your other coat?Coffeekid: In my lockerMe: Where is your hat!?Coffeekid: In my lockerMe: ALL THREE?Coffeekid: In my lockerMe: You did that on PURPOSE so you wouldn't have to wear a coat!(insert a small ranting lecture here)Me: You WILL bring home your coat and hats TODAY or you will be grounded for one week and that includes not going to the school dance this Saturday! How sad is that? When you have to threaten to ground your kid because he only wants to wear a hoodie sweatshirt and a t-shirt and it's 20 below zero. Read more:weather
Just let me rant for a minute......... 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I was reading the news and came across yet another news story of innocent people killed because someone in their 80's or 90's was behind the wheel of a car.I just need to vent and rant that damnit, they don't have the reflexes, the eye site or the capacities at that age to be driving a car. I truly believe that once you hit 75 years old you should have to take a yearly driving test to renew your license. Just as we have graduated licensing in place for kids 14-18 years old to drive (starting with learners permits, places they are allowed to drive at certain ages, and hours they can drive along with mandatory drivers education classes) so should we have them in place for drivers over 75.Where I currently live a child 14 can take a written test and if they pass, they are given a 'permit' and can drive with someone over 21 in the car. With 6 months of driving experience and having taken a Drivers Education class they can take another test that will give them a 'school' permit. T
So.... here we are 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Although I don't know how things went, I know they started to interview for my position yesterday. I was told they had 8 resumes emailed this week and 3 of them looked promising. Should I be happy or sad? LOL.I found a job listing very very similar to mine. But I don't want to send my resume in because I'm afraid I might get it. Part of me would really like to do the housewife thing for a little while... but the other part of me feels very strange staying home after working outside the home became such a huge part of who I am. And of course that little thing called; MONEY - you know, the stuff we don't have. If Coffeehusband was to get a promotion/raise I would probably stay home, fairly guilt free, but right now the guilt is huge.So I found an easy part time job listed that I could apply for, working about 15-20 hours a week, low stress, and it wouldn't 'come home with me' at night. But it's not a career type job. It's not one that uses the skills I've worked hard
I Made This Up: "Youyou" (you know... kind of like a Meme) 1970-01-01 00:59:59 A lot of people, when they have no fodder for blogging, manage to fall back on "meme's" when they are desperate.A 'meme' roughly translates to "me me" and you write 5, 10, 99 or 100 'things about me' for lack of anything better to blog about. Sometimes this is really interesting! You find out interesting facts about your blog-friend, things you have in common, things you could never come to agreement on, things you think are gross or funny or just interesting. This morning I have nothing to blog about but I don't want to do a meme. Instead I've decided to do a "youyou". I've just made this up, so I'm going to fly by the seat of my pants here and just think of all the friends I've had over the years and facts about them. Anonymously of course! I'm going to focus on friends of my childhood, youth and young adulthood... maybe throw in a couple more recent... but I can't help but wonder if there will be so many similarities that some of my current friends will wonder...
Second Post of the Day - Bathroom Thoughts 1970-01-01 00:59:59 First off, this is the second post of the day. If you are looking for updates on the teenage-love drama, that is directly below with a really pretty song to boot, so scroll down, click the green arrow and play the song in the background while you come back up to read this post. :o)This morning I was in the bathroom when I suddenly heard a low flying plane. Now, living just a few miles from a military camp I do hear them once in awhile, but not often. This one was loud and low and it popped into my head; Wouldn't it be terrible if another country decided to bomb us or a big nuclear bomb dropped far enough away that we didn't get blasted but felt the reprocussions from it... and I was on the toilet when it happened!?And then my second thought; We buy Cottonelle toilet paper fairly often. It's what I happened to buy the last time and as I stared at the ripples I remembered when it first came out and was a brand new product.Kimberley-Clark released their new Cottonelle toilet Read more:Second
Random Babble on a Tuesday Morning 1970-01-01 00:59:59 The girl child had to be up early and out the door for Show Choir practice this morning so here I sit... in the kitchen at the island, the house quiet but the roar of snow blowers outside to serenade me. Yes, apparently it snowed again last night. Who knew!? I hadn't a clue.Puppy Love: Well, BabyGirl is still 'torn'. She is really enjoying the time she spends talking to the new guy, who makes her laugh and they have a great time, but she is still in love with Ex-Boyfriend. And, he with her, although the Little Blonde that he works with is still in the picture. It's hard to stand back and watch he and her both still wanting to hang on to each other... he text's her often just to ask "What RU Doin" and they chat on computer at night while doing homework. I checked out her myspace page and she has put up a new song."Teardrops on my Guitar" by Taylor Swift. Sigh. I wouldn't be surprised if they get back together... they both still adore the other and are both trying to f Read more:Babble

It This a Conspiracy? 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Do you East Coast people KNOW ABOUT THIS SODA and you never told me? Do you know how LUCKY YOU ARE? Do you know that most of the rest of the country CANT GET IT?I have searched for distributor information and I have no idea how far I will have to go to track this stuff down. I know we are supposed to drive to South Carolina in April and you can darn well bet I'm going to be making frequent stops to check almost every gas station on the way to find it. I soooo want that Watermelon and Green Apple. And if the Winn Dixie near our hotel carries it you can make sure the kids are going to have to move their feet to make room on the truck floor to bring a few home with us... I don't care if they have to ride with their knee's to their chests for 2 days. Read more:Conspiracy
Can we just sit and sip quietly? 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I'm thinking about work and how I want to go in and I absolutely need/want the money but that it's been 3 weeks now since my resignation and I can feel myself emotionally and mentally not 'there' anymore. It's starting to be bitter sweet.... as much as I want it to end and train a new person, I also don't want it to end.I was a Stay At Home Mom for years and was quite good at it. But I also had small children at the time. I don't have another job lined up yet so I'm going to become a Stay At Home Wife (SAHW) which is a brand new career for me and one I haven't emotionally come to terms with yet. There are some negative connotations there for me. Especially since we can't really 'afford' for me to be home.I told my husband the 'guilt' factor is larger than I thought it would be. I would feel absolutely justified if I was pregnant again... but to be a 'wife' and not a 'full time mom' is a new roll. There is guilt and pressure there. He doesn't see it that
Monday Morning Coffee Talk 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I'm sipping my coffee, I've ate a piece of that awesome coffee cake... and I'm looking outside thinking; "I really don't feel like going to work today...." of course the difference between most of you and me is that within a week or two, I won't be. My official last day was January 31st but of course I offered to stay on while they interviewed and then I'd train the new person. Actually there are two new people. They announced last Thursday that they had hired a new 'co-worker' position and he will be starting in a couple weeks as well. One of the comments on the post below asked me for insight on kids dating. I suppose it's a little ironic that just this morning I gave permission for Coffee
kid (14) to ask his crush out. The entire 8th grade has been waiting for months for me to give the nod of ok. When the kids were smaller we always said "16". Why? I don't know. Seemed like a good number. Then again, "26" seems even better. It was never really an 'issue' thoug Read more:Coffee Talk

You know 'those' days... 1970-01-01 00:59:59 The ones where it isn't any 'one' thing but it's a lot of little things and they all keep mounting and mounting until you are ready to cry if one more thing goes wrong? Sigh. I'm stuck in 'that' day.*edited to this very short version because I sounded like a whiny arsed baby*But I'm home from the last thing of the day - which was a 2 hour information night at the High School. I'm now going to shove my mouth full of jalapeno poppers and chicken popcorn, fully aware that it is emotional-eating and knowing that, I don't care.Good Night!

Sunday Morning Coffee Talk 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Coffeegirl spent the night at a friends last night, so this morning I was awakened not by a cat wanting out of her room... but a cat wanting into her room. Scratch scratch, bang! Scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch! SFC. *yawn*BabyGirl had a date last night... just out to dinner. But she was dancing on the wind she was so happy. I'm so glad.Well, I guess I've talked about the two girls, I'll feel bad if I leave Coffeekid out. Yesterday he took his drivers test for his permit. Didn't quite make it. Did great and got them all right until question 28 and said after that he was getting them wrong one after another. But he also said it didn't make sense because some of them he swears were correct. (And he explained the question to me and I chose the same answer he did!) Two of them for sure should have been correct, so I'm not sure what happened. Especially since he got them all correct until number 28. But it's a computerized touch-screen so the problem coul Read more:Coffee

Because I think you all need to know what a pummelo is.... 1970-01-01 00:59:59 While the Rest of the World Watches Football (... well, the rest of the United States anyway,) here I am posting in the blog.I just finished eating a fabulous red pummelo, which I was too lazy to take a picture of, but I found one on google that looks exactly like mine did, minus that funky blue blue plate because frankly, I set mine on the island bar and ate it without a plate.I have no idea who that lady is, I just wanted to show youhow large a pummelo is. Quite large. If you have not had a pummelo before, but you love the soda "Fresca" or "Squirt" then you are in luck. You will love these. Interesting that I love grapefruit flavored sodas like Fresca and Squirt but I have never in my entire life been able to eat grapefruit... yuck. But pummelo's? Oh yeah. This huge fruit will now be a regular on my shopping list. Read more:think
Playing it out on Myspace 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I know you are all dying to know how the drama is being played out between BabyGirl and Boyfriend... come on, I know it! We are all still 17 at heart!I could go into details but I think the easiest thing to do is tell you that I went to their MySpace pages tonight. Here is the song BabyGirl has on her MySpace page;"Gone Forever" by Three Days GraceI feel so much betterNow that you're gone foreverI tell myself that I don't miss you at allI'm not lying, denying that I feel so much better nowThat you're gone foreverAnd now it's coming clearThat I don't need you hereAnd in this world around meI'm glad you disappearedThen I clicked on Ex-Boyfriends MySpace page; "She Hates Me" by Puddle of Mudd

When in my last day? Gosh! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I'm still here... 3 1/2 weeks after my resignation. Three and a half weeks. Remember, I wanted my last day to be the end of January, but I offered to stay an extra week or two to give them time to find someone and then I wanted to train them. But here I am... waiting and wondering! Now, granted, the money is fine, and needed of course thanks to that little thing called "property taxes" but a little communication between me and gray suits would be nice. I know they were interviewing for my position last Friday and had some good leads.I expected to come to work on Monday and hear something. When that didn't happen I thought for sure Tuesday.... Wednesday!? No. It's now Thursday and I'm still in limbo. It's a very slow week and although there are few projects each day, our main event is over and no other big events are going on for the next two weeks so my day is quiet and calm for the most part. I know... I am thankful, really! But I've been mentally and emotion

"Frugal" is not a dirty word! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Last night I watched Coffeekid putting on his tennis shoes and rather hesitantly asked;"I suppose your track shoes from last year aren't going to still fit are they....?"He let out a short laugh and responded, "No way! Those were like, a size 9 1/2 and I'm in 11's now.""Oh." Sigh.Yes, another $75 pair of light weight track shoes with cleats will be in our future. This could be bad news, except for the fact that about 6 or 7 years ago I started using the online 'coupon' sites that give you codes to use to get discounts, free shipping, sales and a heads up on clearance products. Sites like Go Go Shopper, Coupon Chief and Deal of Day, etc. So... I'm off to search EastBay for some $75 shoes for about $40.... I hope! Read more:dirty
