Cartoon from Iran Shows Nazi Swastika Turning Into a Jewish Star
2007-02-07 21:59:59
Iran is determined to destroy Israel and is showing this hatred in a cartoon TV show.  This anti-Semitic cartoon has been showing in Iran and shows a Jewish rabbi taking a Nazi swastika and putting it in the dirt, watering it and then watching it grow into the Jewish Star of David. This clip is about one minute long and is being broadcast on the web site on the Middle East Media Institute’s TV project.  The President of the Middle East Media Institute, Yigal Carmon, said that the message is straight forward and that “the idea that they are trying to show is that Zionism comes out from the seed of Nazism.  They’re saying that it is the technical Jew who nurtures it and who plants it and who grows it and who irrigates it and all that.” Normally, according to Carmon, they would not normally be against Jews, only Zionists, but from this cartoon it is obvious that they are talking about all Jews.  Carmon said “it’s the Jew who plants the swastika im

Rian Whittman, a father in Albany, Oregon, has been accused by police of using a 100,000 volt stun gun on his 18 month old son.  Police have accused Rian with assault and criminal mistreatment, which has occurred on 10 separate instances. Police were notified by Rian Whittman’s wife on Saturday of the abuse.  The child was treated at the hospital and has been taken by the state Department of Human Services and placed into protective custody. Police are still unaware of why the father used the stun gun on the baby, but they were told that the abuse has been going on for the past three weeks.  Hopefully the baby will not be scared for life for such a traumatic experience.

Israeli Official Says Foreign Sources are Arming Hezbollah
2007-02-06 23:36:11
A senior Israeli official says that Hezbollah is receiving armaments from Iran, Syria and other sources, and that there is a terror group “preparing for violence” in the Middle East.  The official said “They are getting all kinds of rockets, advanced anti-tank missiles, command-and-control systems, training, finance,” and that they are on their way to being back to the military capability they were before the war. As of now Hezbollah has been unable to rebuild the bunkers they had during the Israeli-Hezbollah war last year, but according to the Israeli official Hezbollah is maintaining a constant operational presence along the border between Lebanese and Israel.  The Israeli Defense Forces have found a “cluster of explosives” in Lebanon near the Lebanon-Israel border. Israel officials have said that since the ceasefire order between Israel and Hezbollah, “tons” of weapons have been smuggled along Gaza’s border with Egypt.  Isr

US Embassy Bomber is Now an Iraqi Lawmaker
2007-02-06 15:37:07
Jamal Jafaar Mohammed was sentenced to death in Kuwait after the bombings of the US and French Embassies, but now is an Iraqi Lawmaker according the United States military intelligence.  Having this position provides Jamal with immunity from prosecution. After the attacks in 1983, which killed 5 and wounded 86, at the US and French Embassies, Jamal fled the country before the trial.  Jamal was also accused of hijacking a Kuwaiti airliner and also for the attempted assassination of a Kuwaiti prince.  However, in 2005, Jamal Jafaar Mohammed was elected into the Iraq’s Council of Representatives by representing the Babil province, which is south of Baghdad. Al-Maliki has told American intelligence to share their information with the Iraqi lawmakers, who could in turn strip Jamal of his immunity.  He also told reporters “We don’t want parliament to be a shelter for outlaws and wanted people,” and that “this is the government’s view, but the parliamen

US Embassy Warns of Terrorist Threats in Sudan
2007-02-06 00:25:07
US Embassy has warned Americans of terrorist threats against the westerners in Sudan .  A message from the US Embassy reads, “The U.S. Embassy advises all U.S. citizens in Sudan that the United Nations mission in Sudan has received new information that an extremist group based in the country is likely to target Western interests.” The United Nations sent a similar message to its people in Sudan last week, but were not supposed to speak to journalists on this issue.  Joel Maybury, U.S. Embassy spokesman, said that this procedure is standard whenever threats are received, and “In places like Sudan, where you have instability and conflict, we may have half a dozen such messages a year.” Some of the Sudanese are angry at the United Nations for promoting a peace process in southern Sudan.  The UN has 10,000 peacekeepers in the south end of Sudan with approximately 2,500 civilian staff throughout all of Sudan. The UN is trying to convince the Sudan government to all

Woman Allegedly Stabbed Her Two Daughters to Death!
2007-02-05 22:14:08
Police has arrested the mother of two girls, ages 5 and 8, who allegedly stabbed them to death at their mobile home about 30 miles outside of Detroit.  Sheriff Mark Hackel said “It’s an extremely horrific scene,” which is about the only way to describe it when innocent children are involved. The mother’s sister called the police on Sunday after she had visited the home.  The sister said that when she got to the home the door was already opened, and when she called for her sister she came to the door and said that she had harmed the children. Not only were the two kids found dead, but three dogs and a mouse were also found stabbed to death.  Police have not identified the woman arrested but did say that she is cooperating with authorities. There is nothing more I can say than that this is a sick, sick crime!

Audio tapes of California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger , which were recorded in March 2006, reveals Republicans who are complaining about both Republican and Democratic lawmakers and were also showing sympathy for Mexican immigrants.  However, they did mention in the tape that they should embrace the US. One of the tapes has Arnold complaining about Fabian Nunez, who is the Democratic Assembly Speaker, saying that he is a “political operator” who says one thing in public but something else in private.  He also talks about Senate President Pro Tem Perata, saying that he is “a very sick man.” These recordings were found by Phil Angelides, a Democratic opponent of Arnold, campaign and the California Highway Patrol found nothing wrong with the how they obtained the audio files.  They accessed these files through a public section on the governor’s web site.  The leaks of these audio tapes have caused the governor’s office to show transcripts for over

US Government Wants to Arm Pilots
2007-02-08 15:22:23
The United States government is asking foreign countries to let pilots have guns in the cockpits.  This would expand a 4 year program that the Homeland Security Department, with the help of the State Department, is heading up that allows pilots to carry guns on their domestic flights. They say it is obvious that there is international threat for these pilots and that arming them would allow them to perform their duties.  However, it is expected that some countries will not allow guns on planes even if the pilots have been trained and were sworn in as law officers.  Michael Mohr, who is the homeland security liaison at the Swedish Embassy in Washington, said “Sweden would rather not see any weapons aboard planes,” and that “there’s a concern about arms and very sensitive equipment inside airplanes.” These armed pilots are known as flight deck officers, and are only allowed to carry the guns in the cockpit.  As of now the government’s effort

Samsung has unveiled the Ultra Smart F700 which is a sleek cell phone with similar features as the highly popular Apple iPhone .  This new cell phone is to be shown at the 3GSM World Congress, which is a telecommunications exhibition, next week in Barcelona. Ever since the release of the Apple iPhone manufacturers have been fighting to come up with their own version with similar features.  Samsung said that this phone will have a full touch screen along with a traditional key pad to give users the option to choose which one to use.  Like a lot of other phones, the Ultra Smart F700 will also provide users with access to the internet along with the ability to play music, take pictures, show videos, etc. Samsung has moved ahead of the iPhone in two categories:  One is that the 3G technology is a lot faster on the Samsung when compared to the iPhone and the second is that while the iPhone has a 2 megapixel camera, the Samsung will feature a 5 megapixel camera. Australian Prime Minister Says Terrorists Want Obama!
2007-02-11 05:27:52
Australia’s prime minister, John Howard, bashed Barack Obama because of his opposition to the war in Iraq, which happened just one day after the US senator announced that he is running for president in 2008. In Barack Obama’s campaign he said that one of the first things that needs to be done is to end the war over in Iraq and he has already proposed a bill that will prevent President George Bush from implementing his troop surge strategy.  He has said that by March 31, 2008 the US forces should be removed from Iraq. John Howard, an ally of President Bush and has himself sent troops to fight in the Iraqi war, said that Barack Obama’s intentions would do nothing more than cause disaster in the Middle East.  In response to Obama’s proposals the Australian  prime minister said ”I think that will just encourage those who want to completely destabilize and destroy Iraq, and create chaos and a victory for the terrorists to hang on and hope for an Obama victo

Civilian Contractor Shot & Killed by US Forces
2007-02-12 04:33:32
Donald Tolfree, a civilian contract truck driver, was shot and killed close to an air base near Baghdad according to the family’s lawyer.  He went to Iraq on January 5th and was killed at a check point close to Camp Anaconda. Attorney Patrick Greenfelder said that Donald Tolfree had drove through a United States military checkpoint before and when he realized he was in the wrong convoy he turned around and was shot and killed on his way back out.  A representative of the military told Tolfree’s daughter, Kristen Martin, that her father and another man was killed by a roadside bomb, however, the representative later called Kristen Martin to tell her that her father was actually killed by US forces and that the other man had survived. As of now the attorney said that the family is not taking any legal action, they just want a few questions answered.  They would like to know if any warning shots were fired, why Donald was in the wrong convoy, whether or not the checkpoint w

Gates Reports Prisoner Abuse Damaged US's Reputation
2007-02-11 18:56:02
Robert Gates , US Defense Secretary, said that the prisoner abuse scandals, both at Guantanamo Bay and Iraq, have damaged the reputation of the United States and that steps need to be made to show the world the US military is still out to do good in the world.  During his speech Gates did not talk about the war in Iraq, but did say that the United States needs to do a better job of explaining their actions and their politics. Gates said that over the last century most of the people thought that “while we might from time to time do something stupid, that we where a force for good in the world,” and that while some might still believe that, he thinks “we also have made some mistakes and have not presented our case as well as we might in many instances.  I think we have to work on that.” However, the US was not the only country he talked about, as he mentioned in the speech that the NATO allies need to follow through with their promises help the economic and mili

Mitt Romney Criticized by Jewish Democrats
2007-02-13 03:46:56
Jewish Democrats have criticized Republican Mitt Romney ’s choice of location to announce his run for president.  Romney plans on announcing his candidacy at a museum that honors Henry Ford, an obvious auto pioneer, which got the criticism of many Jewish Democrats because they note Henry Ford’s history as one of anti-Semitism. The National Jewish Democratic Council said they are “deeply troubled by Governor Romney’s choice of locations to announce his presidential campaign,” which is proposed to be announced on Tuesday at the Henry Ford Museum located in Dearborn, Michigan.  The council also said “Romney has been traveling the country talking about inclusiveness and understanding of people from all walks of life,” but “yet he chooses to kick (off) his presidential campaign on the former estate of a well-known and outspoken anti-Semite and xenophobe.” The council believes that this choice of location calls into question either Ro

Barack Obama Apologizes for Saying Troops Lives Were "Wasted" in Iraq
2007-02-13 19:15:00
Barack Obama , 2008 Democratic presidential candidate, is now apologizing for comments he made during a speech in which he said the lives of the US troops that have died during the war in Iraq were “wasted.”  The speech was held in Iowa, and during the speech Obama said “We now have spent $400 billion and have seen over 3,000 lives of the bravest young Americans wasted.” He has now apologized, saying that his comments were “a slip of the tongue.”  He has also apologized again in New Hampshire on Monday, telling reporters his intent was to criticize the leadership in the war, not of those who are serving in the US military.  Obama said “even as I said it, I realized I had misspoken,” and that “it is not at all what I intended to say, and I would absolutely apologize if any felt that in some ways it had diminished the enormous courage and sacrifice that they’d shown.” It seems that Barack Obama is having no problems

Sale Your Old Engagement Ring at "I Do…Now I Don't"
2007-02-14 18:51:07
A man by the name of Joshua Opperman met the woman that he thought he would marry and spend the rest of his life with.  However, when they broke up the only thing that he had was a broken heart and an expensive engagement ring, which he has used to create a business. Joshua tried to sell the ring back, but he was only offered 32% of the retailed price, and so he decided to create a jewelry auction site for people who are in the same situation he was in.  The name of the site is “I Do…Now I Don’t” and is put together and operated by himself, his sister, three other employees and a New York City jeweler.  The reason he wanted a jeweler is because “when someone wins the auction, the ring is sent to us and the money’s sent to us so our in house jeweler can make sure the diamond is real, first of all and you’re getting exactly what was offered.” Opperman has received a lot of positive feedback on this site and he said “I feel good abo
