AFL - The Basics 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Australian rules football, also known as Australian football, Aussie rules, or simply "football" or "footy" is a code of football played with an prolate spheroid ball, on large oval shaped fields, with four posts at each end. No more than 18 players of each team are permitted to be on the field at any time and the primary aim of the game is to score by kicking the ball between the posts. The winner is the team who has the highest total score by the end of the match.There are several different ways to advance the ball, including kicking and hand passing. When hand passing one hand must be used to hold the ball and the other fist to hit it — throwing the ball is not allowed. Players running with the ball must bounce or touch it on the ground every 15 metres. There is no offside rule and players can roam the field freely. Australian rules is a contact sport. The Funny Farm [N.Z Hospitals] 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I haven't laughed so much but felt so sad at the same time. I'm headin off to bed I'm buggered. But just so you know, my Mom and I went and visited my Nan tonight in hospital. As you can understand she's is so sick and we are not to sure whats wrong with her. Over the previous 9 weeks we've been given the run around by Auckland's Doctors and Nurses. What ever you do, do not get sick in New Zealand the health care system runs close to a 3rd would country, it's sux's.I experienced it first hand tonight... what a shocking operation they run in the hospitals - I can't believe that the people that work their don't even look after anyone. I wanna go in to details... but I'll post on it later. Some of the stuff that went on in the 40 minutes we were there was just crazy. I had to laugh just make the situation better or I maybe I was laughing because the whole thing was one big joke.
