Carrier Fairy 2008-05-21 18:34:08 I joined in with a fun event called Carrier Fairy via TheBabywearer.com. It's like a secret santa gift exchange baby wearing style.I had an absolute ball finding a gift for my fairyee. It was awesome to be so sneaky, and to see her surprise when she received her gift. I can't wait for the next round.I was notified a couple weeks ago that two gifts were on their way to me. About a week ago I re
On Second Thought... 2008-05-21 18:03:56 I blocked my blog the other day because I am aware of the fact that someone from my past has been reading this blog on a regular basis. It's a little creepy if you ask me. On top of that it bothers me a bit that they "watch" my life and never comment or email me. They just stalk. Well, you know who you are, and I simply have one thing to say. I feel sad for you. I'm sad that you are so pathe Read more:Second
My sneaky housework 2008-05-21 07:31:30 After Anna's middle of the night feeding my new trick is to do a load or two of laundry. It may sound insane, but that's par for me. It takes me about 1/3 the amount of time. No one asks me any questions. No one tears the piles of folded clothes apart. Just me and the basket and some crickets to listen to.Lovely. Just lovely. And then any laundry I do during the day is bonus!
Being Consistent 2008-05-20 09:49:26 I saw a post on a "mom site" the other day talking about being consistent with your kids. I know for a fact that when John and I are on the same page with any parenting issue and we both STAY on that page things go much smoother. But I'll be the first to admit that I am not always consistent. Take this weekend for instance. It's 100 freakin' degrees outside and a full moon (yes, I believe the si
A little privacy please 2008-05-19 08:38:49 Well, I have a hunch a couple weirdos from my past are stalking my blog, and to be honest it creeps me out. Since the main reason I made it public was to raise money for BabyLossandHealing.com via PayPerPost, and I've raised enough to keep that going for a few years, I'm just in the mood to have the weirdos blocked. Not to say that all of you with access to the blog aren't weird. LOL!Anyway, now Read more:little
Life of a Mom 2008-05-23 16:40:00 Well, I actually vow never to say or do half of the things in this song. However, don't doubt for moment that the thoughts don't go through my head!Enjoy!
Marriage vs. Parenthood 2008-05-23 15:49:02 Today I was talking with a couple moms about the effects parenthood has on a marriage. I remember when Sarah was in the latter part of her first year John and I realized our personal relationship had been sitting on the backburner for quite some time. With the arrival of Ellen, and my lovely experience with Post Partum Depression, our relationship traveled through more stress and was put to the te Read more:Parenthood

Ellen 2008-05-24 23:48:47 Ellen found a snail today. The snail has been named Shelly. I told Ellen at bathtime that there are some people that are named Shelly. Her reply was, "Mommy, a person called Shelly?! That's silly!!!"I love Ellen.

Everyone makes mistakes. 2008-05-30 00:22:15 Everyone makes
mistakes. But the choices we make after the mistakes are what counts.I recently asked some friends and posted to a local mama group asking for advice on discipline. Time out just wasn't working for us, and we were all heading into a quick spiral of frustration. Rather than bore you with tons of blabbity I want to quote one of the replies that just absolutely is exactly the type of
Baby Loss and Healing Memory Walk and more 2008-05-28 23:45:09 Yes. I'm so excited to be organizing an event to help promote awareness of baby loss and give families an opportunity to memorialize their sweet babies. Not only will I be hosting the event, a friend of mine is also hosting a walk in her hometown, too! I'm so excited!! I've already been in contact with my local newspaper, and they will be writing an article about Baby Loss and Healing
and the Me Read more:Memory
Reaching Out 2008-05-31 00:14:34 I love Anna's new pastime. During her diaper changes I dip my face down close to hers, and she reaches her hands out to touch and explore. She is so soft. Her eyes sparkle. A sweet little grin. Her little fingers are so gentle. Completely irresistible.

Respect All Others 2008-05-31 15:32:40 "She" came over today. She brought some seeds to plant outside with the girls. I stayed in the kitchen with Anna putting some things away. I've really purposed to bite my tongue, and let her have a little freedom with the girls. I don't want negative energy. I want her to enjoy them. I know she is lonely, and they give her so much joy.But SOMETIMES I SWEAR!!!! Okay, deep breath... I just f Read more:Others
The Article 2008-06-03 06:35:57 Yesterday, an article was published in my local paper regarding Baby Loss and Healing. My head was blogging all day. I had no pencil, paper, keyboard or time. So, I'll just widdle it down. It was also Mamaroo day (baby wearing meet up). And it just so happened to be sunny, so the plan was to have the meeting at a park. Great! Fun! Perfect!I didn't know when the article was going to be publis Read more:Article

The Rhyming Kid 2008-06-05 17:39:58 The latest indicator of Ellen being "content" is her sentence structure. When happy Ellen ends her sentences in a rhyme. The words are sometimes real. Mostly made up.For example wample:Mommy, may I have some juice, please wease?I need to go potty rotty.I like grapes, apes.*edited to add, "Mommy, can I have a banana-mana?"And it goes on and on. Rhyming EVERYTHING... I see the amusement in it.
Double Rainbow 2008-06-07 00:33:26 A friend sent me this email yesterday. I didn't get it until tonight (darn SPAMblocker!)A double rainbow. Miss you both, sweet angels.

Age, the Cosmos and People Wasting Their Time 2008-06-11 11:36:53 Let's see if I can make sense of myself. It's been an emotional week, and my brain is in overdrive.First, Sarah said today, "I want to be all grown up. I can't wait to grow up." Well, I hate for her to wish away her childhood, but doesn't every child say this at some point? So, I told her, "Age is relative. It doesn't matter how old you are because there is nothing you can do about it. It's Read more:Cosmos
Baby Loss and Healing 2008-06-13 06:32:34 The blogging may come to a temporary screeching halt. After months of putting it off I've been inspired, and I'm completely redesigning BabyLossandHealing
.com. The new design is well overdue, and with the Memory Walk coming up this fall I want it to be the site I know it is.
All done! Well, mostly done. 2008-06-14 18:13:07 I still have a little tweaking to do, but I'm so excited about the new look for Baby Loss and Healing that I had to upload it!So, if you'd like to see...And I just realized as I was writing this that Anna slept on my lap (she hates her bed at nap time, and well, I'm soaking up every bit of her babyhood as I can) almost the entire time I worked on this project. It has made working on Baby Loss and
