PHOTOHUNT : Subject - NARROW 2008-02-02 07:20:00
For this week's Photohunt subject, "the travelling ducks" shares with you the facinating Gaudi's last work - the Sagrada di Familia which features many NARROW images from our last visit in Barcelona.
The admirable works of Gaudi's narrow towers of the Sagrada which till today is still going through massive construction.
Going down, you will need to use this narrow winding steps that seems neverending.
Looking up the tip of the narrow towers.
Of the many sub narrow towers in the midst of the 21st century building scaffoldings.
Girl, you'll be a woman soon 2008-01-27 07:33:00 When I looked back at my teenage years, I recall living under strict parental guidance. There were curfews and expectations to abide. Rules and regulations not forgetting. I remembered if I ever complained to my parents about a teacher's annoyance or wrath, it would turn into a double whammy. I'll get another good round of reprimandation or grounding from my parents. I think some of you who are in the same genre as me may probably experience the same fate ;) Today, you see a different scenario.
Teenagers nowadays or young adults as they like to be referred to, are more challenging to handle. They fall under the Y generation and you could say that they live up to their generation standards - Y (Why) this?....(Y)Why that?....(Y)Why no?.....Why not?..The Ys just simply never get to end to Z Read more:woman
PHOTOHUNT : Subject - OLD FASHIONED 2008-01-25 22:37:00
I was flicking through my folders to find a suitable photo for this week's hunt and I stumbled upon this image. It was taken in Singapore at the Peninsular Building's open carpark and I was playing with 'Sylar' - our Canon 400D.
An old fashioned cathedral with a peek of newest Singapore Flyer at the background - where the old meets the new.
Nightmare @ the Duck's Nest 2008-01-24 05:03:00 Back from writers' strike.....
Recently our apartment had been fumigated every other day. And recently we have been greeted by the "friendly" neighbours that have been residing in the rubbish chute!
As if that is not enough, these "neighbours" chose to end their lives in our kitchen. We were quite used to this routine of having to clean up the suicidal pests every other evening when we came back from work.
But one morning and it has to be the morning Pato was on night shift, I woke up only to find a horror scene. It looked like a ruthless massacre had just happen. There were probably 20 over cockroaches, some dead and some still wriggling for life. Now these are large size cockroaches not the itsy baby ones.
I really dreaded this because it just spoils my early morning Read more:Nightmare
PHOTOHUNT - Subject : DELICIOUS 2008-01-04 23:36:00
After being away for a month, "the travelling ducks" starts the new year for PHOTOHUNT with something simply delicious!!!!
Nothing beats from sinking your teeth in these delicious fresh donuts which is one of our sinful favourite things.
There's no cutting back on these donuts for the ducks in the year 2008, but its how to keep eating donuts and still looking fabulous and gorgeous........ A challenge, it will be!
He ain't heavy, He's my brother - Part I 2007-12-31 08:37:00 Looking back through the years, my brother and I had nothing in common. We share no same interest, food and had no similar characteristic not even in size! I recall Mama said - Two is enough.... Apart from heading the words of the Two is Enough campaign run by the Singapore Government in the 60s it was also probably that having us both was like having 20 kids running around under one roof.
But when my little brother decided to end his bacholor days, after 26 years later, it hit me that he ain't a "little" brother anymore. My brother had grown up and its time for him to have a family of his own. It seems like yesterday when my dad put down the phone from the hospital and said to me sometime around 3am in the morning on 21st September 1981 - " You've got a little brothe
Food craze delights for the Ducks 2008-03-15 23:31:00 What to do when you're in Singapore and bored ? Easy..... - Indulge yourself to satisfy the sin of gluttony. From east, we head down to the west, to Clementi central for a lunch. This is Pato's favourite stall called Pondok Abang to get his Ayam Penyek during lunch time.
Ayam Penyek is a dish from Indonesia but had since made many waves with the locals and today you can easily get it anywhere (probably an overhyped by now). But what made this particular stall caught Pato's taste was the whole package itself. Good serving portion, crispy fried chicken, hot and spicy chilli paste with a twist of sweet and sour from the grapes.
When Pato recommended Pearl to try savour the real flavour with the grape, she find it so weird. She don't find it as the right equation to the recip Read more:Ducks
PHOTOHUNT - Subject : I SPY 2008-03-14 22:31:00
Pearl was thinking of giving up this week's theme on Photohunt as she was at a dead's end to find something suitable. It so happenned that last night whilst Pearl was doing her homework, Pato found "something" to SPY on her..........
And you got a "Hammerhead Pato" which instead of amusing Pearl, it gave her a abit of a scare!!!!! (on the side note we came back from a Mandarin horror movie - No. 1 Rule) So you can imagine the shriek that came out from Pearl.
Pato's SPY scare was created from a local magazine's Nikon Coolpix advert. Sylar at the side spying all the commotion.

Pearl's bye bye BERRY 2008-03-22 23:50:00 My Pearl
's in foul mood since yesterday afternoon. The cause - she lost her precious blackberry at Starbucks Tampines Mall.
She was having a meeting, sitting on one of those small couches and had accidentally left her berry on the seat. Ten minutes later after she realised that her berry was not with her, she ran back but even the staffs said they didn't found anything.
Thing was, I tried calling her number, it was ringing but no answer. We thought someone might still be a samaritan out there but no answer.
What even made her more furious was not losing the phone but all her contacts in the berry. Had never seen her so distraught that she looked like a zombie walking in the mall. We went to Starhub, probably she could get a new berry but after checking the retail price which is
PHOTOHUNT - Subject : METAL 2008-03-22 10:41:00
I'm in such a foul mood this week apart from having several engagements today, our PHOTOHUNT this week came at the 11th hour. This week subject is best represented by Pato's favourite metal. A big boy's bling bling.....
At a car show at Millenia Walk, Pato stumble upon his orgasmic feast ;)
Tagging Me Man - What I love most about... 2008-04-06 02:45:00 The past month of March 2008 could be labelled my worst month and I hope I don't have to undergo any of these in the near future.
From being ban coming to the office for a week due to cough and flu followed by a carelessness act which cost me my Berry. A sequel of a case of break in at my office which cost me Pato's handphone and my wallet, not to mention that I had to take time off to make my IC, driving licence, ATM cards, etc etc plus, later a week of fever and sinus problem and I still had to fly to Jakarta for presentation that had me nearly fainted at Changi Airport - i thought someone probably's doing a voodoo on me!!!! My colleagues was teasing that I need to do a flower bath!!
But seriously, I was devastated and in a foul mood the whole ti Read more:Tagging
And I saw Red.... 2008-04-09 07:36:00 If you grew up listening to the 80's rock charts like yours truly here, you would remember the rock group Warrant and their hit rock song - I saw Red. And till today, I still never grew tired of this song. Although I don't have all that rocker groupies posters on my drawing board like I use to have during school days and the black sombre "emo" look, the rock chick soul still lives in me.
Anyways, I digress........
Talking about Red, a fellow blogger that I got to know from the early days of "The Travelling Ducks" is slowly reaching her peak of Diva-hood. She started off blogging about herself, her family and her love of Redness in anything and everything, had gained "stardom" in the local papers and now will be featured in a Lifestyle Entertainment show hosted by one of Malaysian b
Can you still laugh? 2008-04-10 09:28:00 We were laughing away watching this clip but at the same time we were both proven guilty of creating at least one similar act in our "wholesome cuteness" days. Try to guess who did what.....
Whether the consequences is still laughable, well we wonder, if this happens to you, what would you do, .........can you still laugh?
Let's just take a breather and enjoy...
PHOTOHUNT - Subject : TWISTED 2008-04-12 01:42:00
Missing out the past two weeks, we came back this week Photohunt. Trying to figure out what suits this week's theme, we're twisting ourselves around the house instead to capture something....
Our display clay pot bought at Barang Barang sale.
Which is full of twisted cables.
Sweet talk 2008-04-17 08:43:00 Its hard for me to say something interesting about Shaw Tower. Apart from being one of the few last standing oldest buildings in Singapore with a retro architecture and had caused many tremors felt during the Sumatra earthquake, there is nothing alive in this building. Limited food choices and no amenities shop, not even Watsons, its so easy to dash out during lunch time to get a breather...
Thank goodness the vicinity is a saviour at least. Walking distance to Suntec City, Bugis Junction, Liang Seah Street and even to Raffles City Tower, we got a few good choices to built up our energy level.
One of my favourite joints is this dessert hunt just along Liang Seah Street. With its very ornate Chinese furniture and traditional Chinese artworks, it never occured to me that thi Read more:Sweet
PHOTOHUNT - Subject : THIRTEEN 2008-04-19 03:56:00
Again I'm scratching my head this week on the subject. I had my calculator on the coffeetable and ........
tada....... - The number thirteen(13) on my Hello Kitty calculator.
Clean up Sunday 2008-04-19 22:34:00 Apart from the usual housekeeping of the duck's coup every weekend, we thought we do some cleaning up at the blog as well. There were several bloggers that we stumble upon and made us interested to keep on reading, some became more than just blogger friends in the cyber world and some just disappear without any alert and some decide to leave the world of blogging for some reason.
We'd guess that is probably the way it is...like friends come and go, blogs appear and disappear. There is no right or wrong approach to blogging. Nobody has the jurisdiction to judge.
Anyways, blogs that we love to read would have some elements on travel, shopping, design and photography. Some blogs are more daily lives related which particularly Pearl would take time to read. She calls it the cyber v Read more:Clean

PHOTOHUNT - Subject : SIGNS 2008-04-26 02:19:00
Since my unfortunate misfotune from last month, its about time that this SIGN greeted me to get my new identification.....
I decided to add the sign of royalty infront of my name - PRINCESS Pearl - a SIGN of insanity that hit me after my purse being stolen.
Well at least I didn't go ahead with my plan to change my identification to The Little Red Riding Hood !!
the ducks are flocking to... 2008-04-29 12:50:00
Following the footsteps of Rush and Nurul, the ducks are packing their gears, flapping their wings and off from the nest for that well deserved break. Flocking to the other side of the world .........
From Singapore to Shanghai to Boston 2008-05-16 00:34:00 The ducks has just flown back to their nest after almost 2 weeks flocking around the other side of the globe and so much so that we wanted to do a daily post in the blog, the moment we stepped into our hotel room, that 6 nos pillows per Pearl's standard requirement and that warm comforter won over the internet free access! Although we did most of the writing along the way, its the photos that has Read more:Singapore

The ducks say Hello to Quebec eh.. 2008-05-18 20:48:00 One thing people took seriously, in the US is the weather forecast! Yes, seriously... The weather could be rainy one day and sunny the next or even a storm the following day. What really amazes us was that it was pretty accurate. So make sure you check the weather forecast before you go out or you could be stuck with the one that could spoil your plans.

A day in Montreal 2008-05-27 00:30:00
The thing with following a tour group, as to what we depended on, was that the group would always depart in early mornings. Contiki for instance, is on a packed itenarary so by 7.30am we would all be out on the road however Contiki would require having a good stamina since the tour would make use of every inch of a second. Alas, Super Travel (which we were using for this tour) was such a m Read more:Montreal
