Rest Stop Blues 2008-02-28 21:02:37
"Three friends on a road trip take a bathroom break at a rest stop and shenanigans ensue."
A short sketch we made. In case you're confused, it's got nothing to do with our crony 'series'.

The Train 2008-02-20 14:17:52
"Our incompetent henchman are at it again. Burying dead bodies, burning down forests, derailing trains - these guys do it all. A surprise awaits them in this adventure as a malicious nemesis presents himself to our dastardly duo to foil their plans and ruin their day; do our heroes have what it takes?"

Skellies 2008-02-10 11:11:39 I haven't posted in a while; sorry about that. Presently I'm procrastinating doing school work and it seems I've a skelly infestation that must be taken care of.
No time to talk.
Wish me luck.
Crocoduck 2008-01-30 13:38:49 I've just finished retooling the code from my first Drupal theming endeavor, Crocoduck. At the time I had been resisting the changes in methodology Drupal requires, but, having built on that experience now many times over, I've revisited and recreated a theme which is actually one of my favorites. As always, you can select any theme you wish in the left sidebar.
Brainstorming Deluxe 2008-01-25 16:51:58 I finished the Drupal theme I spoke of in my last post today. You can see Flux here or by using the theme switcher. I will have it available for download and use here very soon.
Update: The Flux theme can be downloaded here.
Also today, Jer, John B, and I worked on our next script for the series that brought you The Jogger and Gas Can. We're about halfway through and it's going quite well (if I do say so myself), so expect more on that front soon.

School, Life, and Drupal Love 2008-01-23 08:56:21 School's just started back up. Things had gotten off to a rough start but I believe everything has been smoothed over and I have a really good feeling about this semester. In fact, for one of my projects I'll even be making a 'sequel' to The Price of a Candybar, starring Steve.
In other projects, I've started work on what I will release publicly as a Drupal
theme. Drupal's got a great community and I'm going to give back to it the only way I know how. Expect more on that soon.

Themes and Galleries 2008-01-02 22:46:40 First of all, the gallery. It's been up for maybe a week now but I hadn't made a post about it: check it out. I'm going to try to keep it updated with all of my latest stuff.
Secondly, I came up with a little theme for the site called with love. I'm pretty happy with how it came out so be sure to give it a glance (or more!). As with any theme, you may set which you'd like to use on the left sidebar.
Any feedback is always welcome <3

Life's Good 2007-12-20 16:56:30 I have a few observations, something I doubt anyone really cares about anymore but something I'll indulge in for my own sake.
First of all, I know that the writing here isn't really what it used to be ... not in that it's any different but because I never actually sit down and write anymore. So, for those that miss the interesting life updates, I'm sorry. Which leads to my next point:
Everything I could write about seems old. I still act the way I used to, but I no longer have such frequency of shennaniganism. Everything is pretty typical. That, and, when you're an adult, you're expected to act like an adult - which means that all the crazy things I do ... could actually get me into trouble sometimes (not necessarily legal trouble .. just trouble in general), and writing out such thing
Site Modifications and the Archives 2007-12-13 19:08:51 WELL, I've spent some time over the past couple of days modifying the site to be a bit more user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing.
Aside from that stuff (which pales in comparison), I've started entering things into the archives, going as far back as 2003 (.. which is as far back I'll probably leave things: seriously, high-schoolers are dumbasses, even when they're you). Right now these include some of the best posts from those past years, not to mention the life and times of Manager DAVE (start at the bottom and work up; there are two pages): the hiring, emotion, and firing of a young manager fallen on troubled times. Really, quite moving stuff.
You can access the archives both with the large Archives
area/calendar to the left or the 'Archives' link on the Navigation menu.
New Default Theme, More to Come 2007-12-02 18:23:05 In case you're new or didn't notice, the site looks new. That's because I've completely remade what was unarguably the strongest theme MercWorks has had. It still has some details to be finished but I'm extremely happy with the result of just a few days' work.
Of course those that prefer that web2.0ish thing can simply select "MercWorks 2.0" in the theme column to the left. More new themes to come. More good stuff to come.
Update: I've coded up another little gem I designed today, called 'Newspaper'. It can be selected on the left just like any other theme. I've also enabled the random theme block you may see to the left, which allows you to select a random available theme.

The Bank 2008-03-24 21:19:56 This episode continues the adventures of Steve, and this time he's off to cash a check at the bank. Enjoy, as Steve valiantly attempts to win the respect of the teller, Angel, and as he struggles to obtain the money he is due. Watch 'The Bank'.
This is something I've been working on for a while. It's been on and off the backburner but I'm extremely pleased to say that it is finally finished.

A Hungry Mouse 2008-04-03 09:56:14 I've started a new semester at school and one of my classes is in 3D modeling and animation. I've had a rough time getting into 3D Studio Max in the past, because the interface can be so overwhelming to a newcomer that it can scare you right off. I've got the basics down now, though, in my preparations for the class.
Our first project in this class is to create an animation involving a hungry mouse having to overcome an obstacle for some cheese. I designed the little fellow attached to this post to play the part of the hungry mouse; he still needs some more work, but this is the first draft. More as things develop.

A Day at the Farm and Other Updates 2008-04-26 08:51:46
I do apologize for not having written for so long. Truth be told, there were a couple of things I could have written on, but I've repeatedly decided I was too busy with my mouse animation. Yep, it's still going on. I actually didn't really want to post until the mouse was finished, but it's a bit past a minute in length now and it's taking more time than anticipated. I couldn't leave you hanging for too long, so I'm posting something completely separate altogether.
This is called 'A Day at the Farm.' Two bored kids decide to go cow tipping to pass the time, and find it a much more difficult - and dangerous - endeavor than planned. More after the break.

The Hungry Mouse 2008-05-17 18:16:42
A mouse journeys into the night to find himself some sweet, sweet cheese to eat.
This is my first animation in 3D Studio Max. It was done for a school project and I don't really know how long it took. Enjoy the embedded video to the side or download from the link below.

Alien Invasions and a Batch of Concept Art 2008-07-18 10:47:26 It's been a while, longer than I thought it would be, since I last posted. I've been working on a few projects and really thought that some of them would come to completion sooner; that's how it goes sometimes.
First, we have the Alien
model I've been working on. Not much is known about this species, aside from two observed facts: they like theme parties and ... destruction !
Next up, some conce Read more:Concept

Hard at Work 2008-11-24 23:59:36 Just to keep you internets updated, I'm presently working hard writing two scripts. One is the next Steve animation (which, I think, is turning out to be a delight), and the other is for the next Lackeys film, in which we're introducing a female character. The quality of the animation I'm working on now will definitely exceed previous works, as I hope is the trend in most of my creative endeavor
Just a Test Entry 2007-10-23 16:54:55 The man walked around the store a bit, looking around quickly and with an apparent attitude about him. People around there are of the gruff type nearly exclusively, so it may be assumed that even without description this man could have likely wrapped me around myself several times before hanging me next to the Chap Stick rack. After he spent some time in the store, Saul and I watching and not a w Read more:Entry
Lovely 2007-01-31 01:00:00 So I quit my job the other day (either that or I was fired) and it seems like things turned out okay. There doesn't seem to be resentment floating around anywhere and the rough patch I've had seems to be subsiding. I've been doing a lot of art in my now almost-all-free time, and I've been posting it all to - I probably will from now on, so bookmark it if that interests you. Read more:Lovely
Next Time I Go to the ER, I'll Be Sure to Slice my Wrists on the Way 2006-12-30 01:00:00 Because if you don't have a bloody-assed, life-threatening laceration you will be in the ER for no less than five hours, no matter what.It hasn't been a good year for me, in terms of health. I've been repeatedly having problems that could be classified as borderline ER material - not bad enough to get too worked up, and MAYBE not bad enough for the ER, but bad enough where it should definitely ge Read more:Slice
