Burglar Shot & Critically Injured by Homeowner 2008-03-08 11:52:00 Last night, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officers responded to 3421 Shamrock Drive after receiving a 911 call regarding a residential burglary and shooting incident.Police say the investigation revealed that Rontrey Digsby (Shown R)illegally forced entry into an occupied residence. As Digsby gained entry, he was shot by the homeowner and is in critical/stable condition at CMC. Digsby is charged with first degree burglary. As usual, Digsby has a long rap sheet going back to 2003 when he was convicted of common law robbery at age 17. In 2004, a Judge sentenced him to probation but he continued his criminal activites (10 arrests since 2005) without any consequences... CMS officials said the charges pertain to his illegal online activities but did not provide any further information.Prior to his arrest, Allie Ellington, 61, was a Social Studies teacher at Myers Park High School. North Charlotte Wachovia Bank Robbed 2008-03-03 21:53:00 At approximately 2:46 pm, a Wachovia Bank was robbed at 2610 W. Sugar Creek Road. A white male entered the bank and demanded money from the victim teller. The teller gave the suspect money and he escaped on foot. He was last seen behind the gas station located at 2600 W. Sugar Creek Road.The suspect is described as a white male, age 40 to 46 years old, 6ft to 6ft 1in tall, 180 to 190 pounds with a thin build. He has short hair that is light brown or dark blond. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a light colored ball cap, long sleeve white or beige pullover shirt that has three buttons near the neckline and blue jean pants. CMPD Officer Shoots Robbery Suspect 2008-03-02 22:59:00 UPDATE: Police have identified the armed robber and shooting victim as 52-year old Bobby Airon Dinkins. Dinkins' arrest history in Charlotte-Mecklenburg goes back to 1992 on charges including burglary, robbery and felony breaking and entering.Shortly after 7:30 pm, a CMPD Officer exchanged gunfire with a suspected armed robber in a shopping center parking lot on South Blvd. The suspect suffered serious injuries and the Officer suffered minor injuries.Prior to the shooting, the suspect robbed two clerks at gunpoint inside a Dollar Tree store. Woman Brutally Attacked in North Charlotte 2008-03-11 22:36:00 UPDATE: Latosha Early passed away overnight.Early this morning, CMPD Officers and Medic responded to 2006 Southwind Dr. after receiving a 911 call from a 9-year old boy who said his mother was hurt and bleeding from her head.Upon arrival, police found 27-year old Latosha Early suffering from a severe head injury. She was transported to CMC and is currently being kept alive on life support.Police say it appeared her home had been broken into, however, it isn't known if she knew her attacker(s). Officers took the four young children from the home to provide counseling support and other assistance. CMPD Seeks Armed Robbery Suspect 2008-03-11 19:14:00 Sanquan Davis (Shown R) was arrested for the armed robbery of a Waffle House on May 10, 2007.After being released on bond, Davis was re-arrested for carrying a concealed gun and possession with intent to sell and distribute cocaine. Davis was court ordered into CMPD's Electronic Monitoring program on December 14, 2007.On March 4, 2008, Sanquan Davis cut off his electronic monitor and hasn't been seen since. Davis currently has several outstanding warrants for his arrest as a result of his failure to comply with the court order.Sanquan Davis should be considered armed and dangerous.
