2008-03-04 05:14:08
by Randall S. Hansen, Ph.D. The reality is that college is not for everyone — nor is it truly needed for everyone — and forcing teens to attend college only to have them flunk out is doing a disservice to them. Has Time Run Out or Has Time Just Begun?
2008-01-31 02:43:35
My last good nights’ sleep was back in February of 1990. That was before I found out that I was pregnant with my first child-a daughter who is now 17 and preparing to go away to college in the fall of this year. Since finding out I was pregnant 17 years ago, my sleep has been interrupted on a regualr basis. First it was worry and concern over having a healthy baby and once she was here it was worry about if I had what it would take to be a “good” mother. Over the years while the worries have changed, the interrupted and sometimes sleepless nights have stayed the same.

By Tom Krause I am constantly telling stressed-out students to keep things in perspective. I make these reassurances as a way of easing the minds of many students who feel as if they are falling behind expectations heaped on them by society.
