Las Vegas is always changing, always something old... 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Las Vegas
is always
changing, always something
old being replaced for a new improved idea!! But the idea of always being a open 24 hours a day never changes!! The casinos are always open. The new restaruants always opening. The lavish production shows and entertainers are always there. Shopping from early morning till late night. Any retailer you can imagine is in Las Vegas
. From the inexpensive to the very high end espensive!!! But its always fun to window shop. I fly into the airport and usually use the taxi to my hotel. Sometimes can be a long wait in line for the taxis. The shuttle buses are cheaper, but also can be a long wait or ride as the bus stops at the different hotels. Of course, the limo is always another option is you plan ahead!! I have stayed at many of the hotels on the Las Vegas strip, but not all. Have a few more to try if I can get a good price!! It all depends on what you want in your room. Just the basics to sleep in and store your

Venetian has the Phantom!! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I enjoyed the production of the "Phantom
of the Opera" at the Venetian
very much!! The theater is of moderate size, so most of the seats are very good. I sat in the balcony and had a very good view of everything that happened. The performers were excellent, all very good voices! Will not give any details of the show so you can enjoy for yourself. But I think most people will enjoy and have a good time. Like most of the shows in Las Vegas, the tickets are not inexpensive, so be prepared to make a night out of it!! I have stayed at the Venetian, the rooms are huge are very nice. A separate livingroom area from the bedroom area. Lots of space to relax and just enjoy the luxury. The bathrooms are also large and have everything you need. The casino is large and has a good variety of slots and table games. The table games usually start with the higher limits, not often will you find a bet lower than $10.00. Also many fine high end restaruants and high end shoppin
Superbowl Weekend!!! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Superbowl weekend in Las Vegas is a busy and exciting time! Everybody loves to watch the games at the sportsbook on the giant tv screens. And the bars and lounges are always full with people ready for the big game. The NFL does not allow the casinos to promote special events for the super bowl. But they can be found if you look!!!If you want to place a wager on the game get to the sportsbooks early. Try to place your bet on Friday or Saturday if possible. On Sunday, the day of the game the lines can go on for ever out of the sportsbooks, and you will be waiting a long time. And be prepared before you go to make your bet. Decide what type of bets your going to make and for what dollar amount. You may make many different bets, not just on who will win or lose. All sportsbooks are not the same. Some offer more of the odd bets than the others. The lines for the game and odd bets are similar at all the sportsbooks. But if your willing to put in some time and shoe leather you can compare the Read more:Weekend

Super Bowl Bets!!!!!! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 You can make a bet on almost anything in the Super
Bowl. I found these bets you can place a little money on if your feeling lucky!!! Most of the sports books in the casinos will have similar bets to the ones listed here. Just to give you an idea of all the possibilities!!! You may find the sportsbooks also call these bets "props". You can make single bets on the "props" or try a "parlay" bet on several. But in the "parlay" bet all yours picks must be winners to win the money!! Ok, here is a list of some of the "prop" bets for the Super Bowl
. How long will it take Billy Joel to sing the national anthem. Who will win the coin toss. Team to get first penalty, first first down, first touchown, first to crosst the midfield. Team to have longest kick off return, longest punt return, longest interception return. Which team will make the first sack. Which team will call the frist time
Use the links for info and to plan your Vegas Trip!!! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I put alot of links
on here for you to use to find information and traveling to Las Vegas
and the Hotels. Also the links are good for finding information about the hotels, reviews, the cost, the restaraunts the shows. Alot of web sites have good information, i like to check different sites to get alot of different views and opinions. And some of the links are for shopping for items you may need, like some new luggage!! Alot of the links should be a good place to start for your Las Vegas vacation planning!!! I also made the "Las Vegas Search" engine on here. It just has information in it about Las Vegas. I will be adding more site to it. Hope you give it try, it should shorten your searches and eliminate all the endless pages to look thru!!!In the weeks and months to come, I hope to put on some of my own thoughts about the hotels, casinos, shows, buffets and any questions people may post for me!!So please leave a comment and ask some questions!!! And this site is still under co
Las Vegas Tips 1970-01-01 00:59:59 A few tips before you land in Las Vegas
. The hotels and airlines change their prices frequently. Be sure to look everyday while you are making your plans. You can use the websites I have on here or you favorites. If you have not been to Las Vegas
before, go to the websites of the hotels that interest you and sign up to receive their e-mail specials. Can save you some money. And when in Vegas sign up and use your players club card to get more discounted room offers. You can get discounted or free rooms, free meals, free slot play. Remember, Las Vegas is in the desert. Yes, very hot in summer, but also can be very cold in winter. Once the sun goes down during late fall and winter it cools off very quickly there. Be sure to check the weather before you go and take what clothes you need. Whenever you go, have good walking shoes. It is a long walk from the airport gate down to where you pick up luggage. You have a long walk and and maybe a long wait standing
Mapquest for Las Vegas Added!!!! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 New item on the blog is Mapquest. When you click on the link it will take you to the Las Vegas
city page. So can start exploring and find all the hotels, airport, and other sites your interested in. I hope this will be good information for you to use. You can use the aerial view to see what the strip looks like from the sky! You can walk the strip without a map. Most of the major hotels are right on Las Vegas
Blvd. You just walk from one to another. A few major hotels not on the strip are the Palm's, Hard Rock, Rio. Those are the three hotels tourists would use the most. Its a nice walk from MGM/Luxor area down to Treasure Island/Wynn area. Take your time when its hot. I like to go in places for a minute to cool off in their air conditioning! But walking is the best way to explore and see everything. The downtown hotels are in a much more compact area. Most right around the Fremont Street Light Show. So much easier for visiting all the casinos, which a
Whats Happening in Las Vegas!! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Whats happening in Las Vegas
!!! There are many site where you can find information about the new shows, acts and headliners performing. I have many of those links listed here on my blog. I will try to keep an updated list of the more popular entertainers coming to Las Vegas
. I will try to give at least a months notice of when they will be in Las Vegas. Also the date and which hotel or venue they are at. You can also find the price of tickets and purchase your tickets from the links on here. Also try using the Las Vegas Search on here for that information. I will also list some of the acts that are at the hotels now. You can usually find tickets for these show when you arrive. But doing the busy times its best you purchase your tickets in advance. There are also a few places on the strip where you can try to buy half price tickets. They are usually busy, and you take a chance on what show and selection they have. Many different acts and varieties of shows to se Read more:Happening
Grand Canyon, good day trip from Las Vegas!! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 The GrandCanyon
is something you have to see in person to really appreciate the beauty and grandeur! The sheer size of the canyon, over 250 miles long and over a dozen mile wide in some areas. The contrast of the Colorado river running through the narrow canyons, the rocks glimmering in the sun! The different colors of the rocks is quite amazing, and it changes depending on time of day and with the light. There are many tour company's in Las Vegas
to take you there. Usally you will have the chance for a few different stops and sites at the canyon. Check the search on here for info, or you can check at the tour desk at your hotel. They will be glad to make your reservations for you. The tour usually is all day, usual departure is around 7am and return around 6pm. But this can vary depending on the company and tour. Some tours go the south rim, others the north rim. You can also take a raft down the Colorado river, or soar over the canyon in a helicopter tour! Check out the site that of Read more:Grand Canyon

Slot machines, fun or frustrating!! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 When I am in Las Vegas I play the slot machines
most of the time. Sometimes I play Pai Gow poker or Keno when I need to take a break from the machines. These games are at a slower pace and you can sit back and relax while you play. But the slot machines can be very enjoyable or very frustrating! Very frustrating when all your money is gone in a few minutes. We all like to get some play time for our hard earned money. The casinos will get their share! Just let us have some entertainment and fun first!I go to Las Vegas a few times a year. Every time there are new types of slot machines or variations of the old ones. I like to walk around all the casinos to see what has changed and which casinos are always updating and which are not.I like the slots because I like the idea of betting a little, and the chance to win a jackpot!!! Has not happened to me often. But I enjoy trying and its good entertainment for me. Hope everyone has good luck on their next visit.
Google Calendar For Las Vegas Added!!! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Today I was working on making a Google
calendar to list my vacations and events in Las Vegas
. The Google button for the calendar is the link for it to open. You may have to be signed in to Google for this to open. I have been working with this. It seems Google is still not ready for everybody to use this. It is not a finished product. If the calendar will work, it will be a place to list Las Vegas events and vacations. It has a good search on it for daily, weekly or monthly listings. So you should be able to find almost anything that is happening. The event you choose will pop up in a new window. It will tell you where the event is happening, the date , the time, and a Google map for directions. If you have a Google account try the button and see how the calendar works for you. You can sign up for a free Google account on the Google home page. Hopefully this will be a useful addition and tool to the site!!!! Read more:Calendar

Cold, Snow, Ice, no Sun!!! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Busy all day trying to stay ahead of the falling snow here in the Pittsburgh area. Snow all day, then snow and freezing rain in the evening, back to snow overnight and Wednesday. I shoveled the driveway twice Tuesday before going to work. Made it home from work ok, after about an extra 45 minutes on on the snow and ice covered roads. But then, I had to shovel my driveway again! Then I could get the car into the garage! Its days and weeks like this that make planning that trip to Las Vegas a good idea! One more month, one more month, just keep telling myself that!! Hopefully will be warm and sunny there in that one more month!! Its something good to look forward too!! That's about it for today. To worn out and weary from the snow!! One more month too go!!!!
"World Poker Tour" Store Added!!! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I am not a poker player. Never have any luck with the card playing poker. But it has become very popular in many of the Las Vegas casinos. Many new poker rooms have been built and added to the casinos. The Bellagio I think has the largest room. Very often tournament play is in action here. The room is always full and crowded with the players. Not very exciting to watch from outside the room. But you can see some of the players you see on the poker tv shows.I will put more information on the poker rooms another day. You can try your luck at most of the rooms for a fairly low amount. And many of the rooms have daily tournaments for you to play. Almost all of the casinos have a poker room now. So you should be able to find somewhere to play. The Bellagio, Caesars, Venetian all have newer large size rooms. The Aladdin and Flamingo have smaller rooms, but still good action! So if you watch the "WorldPoker
Tour" on tv, please click on the link below to enter their store!! Plenty of items for Read more:Store
Las Vegas Hotels on the Strip 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I have been to Las Vegas
on vacation over a dozen times. I have always stayed at hotels located on the Las Vegas
strip. This is where most of the large hotels and casinos are located.I have stayed at the Luxor, Caesars Palace, Venetian, Flamingo, Harrah's, Bally's and the Aladdin. The Aladdin is in the process over changing over to the new Planet Hollywood hotel and casino. My favorite casino is at Caesars Palace. It is just a fun place to be!! Still has some of the old Las Vegas and the new more modern look and feel. The rooms at Caesars are very spacious and have everything you need. However, I think the rate they charge is a bit high. I only stayed there when I was offered discounted rooms. Some of the rooms in the new towers there can cost you over $500 a night!!! The Venetian has a very nice room, all are suites. A separate living room area below the bedroom area. Makes it very nice if you plan on spending time relaxing in your room. These may be the Read more:Hotels

Las Vegas McCarran Airport Link 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Today I added another new link to the site. This link will connect you to the home page of the Las Vegas
McCarran Airport. Since many of us fly to Las Vegas
, I thought this would be helpful site to have on my blog. Here you you will find all the information you need about your flights. It has a map of the terminals and gates. Which airlines fly into Las Vegas. What shops and restaurants are located in the airport. You can check this site for updates and information about flight delays and canceled flights. The site also provides information for ground transportation. So if you are renting a car this will be helpful too you. This section of the site also has information on taxis, limos and shuttle buses for the hotels. I hope you will find this another useful piece of information in making your plans easier!!!
Las Vegas Vacation Countdown!! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 From today, one month until my vacation in Las Vegas
!!! I will be staying at the Flamingo Hotel on the strip. It has a great location, Caesar's Palace is across the street. The Barbary Coast and Bally's are a short walk away. The Bellagio is right there at the intersection with Bally's and Caesar's. Makes it easy to visit these fine hotels and casinos. When your luck is bad at the slots or table games, its good to get up and walk away. Time for a break, a meal, people watch or walk to another casino. It takes some time to walk from the Flamingo to Bellagio. Gives you a chance to clear your head. Get some fresh air and energy from the walk. Sometimes this helps change your luck. If not, at least you have spent some time away from losing money!! I like to walk from casino to casino and see where my good luck is that day. When I am winning I stay there!! The Flamingo has a very large casino. They have all the different type slots, three reel, video multi - Read more:Vacation

Bellagio Hotel and Casino!!! A favorite of mine!! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I have to admit, I have not stayed at the Bellagio
. The room rates are more than I budget for on my vacations. But I do enjoy the casino very much. The buffet there is where I go for my main meal of the day. From the photos on here you can see the Bellagio is quite elegant and spacious. The botanical gardens and the pool area are always wonderful to walk around. The many shops in the "Via Bellagio" shopping arcade, and the many fine restaurants around the casino give you many choices. And don't forget the Cirque du Soleil show "O", quite spectacular! You can use the links on here to find more information about the rooms, restaurants and the prices. But the rooms are at top end and very luxurious. You can try for a room with a view of the famous Bellagio fountains!! Now the fountains are free to view, and the music with the fountains is very good, from Celine Dion to Frank Sinatra!! The casino is very large. It has all the slots and table games you would want Read more:Hotel

Hotel Happenings on the Strip 1970-01-01 00:59:59 A few changes are coming to the Las Vegas strip. First the biggest change, the implosion of the Stardust Hotel
will happen in early March. Another of the old time casinos is biting the dust! Of course to be replaced in a few years with a new Boyd's hotel and casino. I have been unable to find the exact date of the implosion. Early March is what I hear. They usually do this late at night to keep the crowds minimal. Another hotel change is not as drastic, not yet anyway. Harrah's has taken ownership of the Barbary Coast and renamed it "Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon". People are waiting to see if the hotel rates will go up. And if the gambling will be more favorable to the house. Will have to see how long this lasts. There have been rumors Harrah's will rebuild from the Imperial Palace down to the new Bill's Gamblin' Hall. At the Wynn, the show "Le Reve" will be closing for around a month in March. The theater is being remodeled. And a new show "Spamalo Read more:Happenings

How to Pick a Hotel??? 2007-03-04 18:12:00 One of the questions I am most often asked is "where should I stay". On the Las Vegas strip all the hotels are good places to stay. Nice rooms, good restaurants, entertainment, casinos and a good fun atmosphere. But of course, with that being said, they are not all equal. If you want a cheap trip you can do that. If you want luxury, that is very much available. The hotels and casinos treat high rollers very well, the low rollers just get what you need. A room for $50 is not going to be as nice as room for $150. A special $7.99 prime rib dinner will not be as good as $29.99 dinner. In Las Vegas you get what you pay for. Quality costs more. It all depends on what your own preferences and desires are. Do you just need a place to sleep and store your luggage? Then a lower priced hotel would be fine. Like the Flamingo, Harrah's, new Bill's Gamblin Hall, Tropicana, Stratosphere, Excalibur. At the luxury end, Bellagio, Venetian, Wynn , Mandalay Bay or Cae Read more:Hotel
