Fun Things to Do With Blueberries 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Ever since Cameron was born he's always been a good eater. So it wasn't hard at all to start him on solid foods because he enjoyed everything - until lately. It has been a challenge to get him to eat his meats and certain vegetables. So John and I have been trying to make things a little more interesting for him during meal time. Having his little Escalade car on the high chair seems to help (although we'll probably regret it later on). We decided to give him some blueberries after dinner last night and here is what he did:He picked up each one and started counting - and I MEAN COUNTING one to four!!!!! Afterwards he found something better to do with the berries. He seemed to enjoy putting one of the berries on top of his toy car like it was some kind of hitch hiker. Read more:Blueberries
Happy 20 Months!! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Today Cameron is twenty months old. Where has the time gone? It seems like he was just a tiny little baby yesterday, and now he is a full fledged toddler. I'm sure the mere mention of the word might send chills down the spines of some new parents. Yes, raising a toddler is hard, but then so is raising a newborn. And wait until they get into their teenage years. Raising child (or two) can be a challenge, but the rewards are great. What one rarely hears is that toddlers can be a delight. I love the fact that Cameron can take such great pleasure in the simplest things like tupperware lids. I love how he says, "Ba-bye Mama, Ba-bye Dada, Ba-bye moo (moon), ba-bye door..." when it's time for bed. I love his deep laugh. I love how he gets his groove on while listening to Queen. And so to my baby boy, Happy

Let Me Just Cut a Little More Here...And Here......And Here... 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I was reading a funny post written by mom 101 about mid-western hair. As I was reading it (and laughing out loud at the names of actual mid-western salons, like "Best Little Hair House"), I looked at Cameron and realized that if I don't do something about his rapidly growing strands, he's going to look like one of those Mid-Western-haired women. So off to the medicine cabinet I go to get a pair of scissors and asked John to help me cut his hair. And this was the result: Ok, so I went a little crazy with the scissors. I don't know what it is but whenever I start snipping away, it's like another force of nature has taken over my hands. I remember the days when my own mother gave me that 80's Dorothy Hamil bowl cut. And I know some of you can relate. I used to harp about it and now I realize I've done the same thing to my son, only this time he looks like Friar Tuck instead.I have yet to take him to the salon. I am a little nervous about it so he'll have to live with his new do for
We Got Out of the House - Hurray!! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 It has been so cold these past few days so we've been stuck at home, playing with the same toys, watching the same Baby Einstein dvd's (and I am not emabarrassed to say I have those things on "repeat play" from time to time), and twiddling my thumbs thinking of things to entertain the kids. I think we were all just getting a little cabin fever when I decided to send Ava off to my mother inlaw's house and take Cameron to Barnes and Noble for story time. You're probably wondering why I don't bring both children to the bookstore. WHAT? Are you nuts?! Cameron is usually all over the place and Ava HATES being strapped in anywhere. And I'm glad I didn't bring both since there was a little crisis yesterday at the store when one of the little girls started missing. They found her wandering off the kids section a few minutes later. Still, I'm sure the mother of that little girl was having several heart attacks while searching for her. Anyway, Cameron and I met Shana and was surprised to Read more:House
Pensive 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I realized I haven't posted too many pictures of Ava lately. So to my family, friends, and lurkers out there, here are a couple more shots of our "Little Squirt" (as John calls her). No, these are not Robeez shoes (which I am just absolutely crazy about). But these Jack and Lily shoes are just as adorable and Ava just loves to feel the little chenille flowers on it.
Smart Mouth 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Boy, do the words keep on coming! Last night I was putting the toys away (surprised? Yes, I do clean the house occasionally), when John was getting Cameron ready for bed. Unfortunately he was not cooperating. So finally after a few minutes, John finally said,"Come on, Cameron, it's TIME for bed because Daddy needs to take a sh*t"."Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t!!", was Cameron's reply.(John's going to kill me when he reads this post...But then again, he might say, "That's my boy!") I'VE BEEN TAGGED 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Ok, I've been reading a lot of blogs lately and saw that I've been tagged by Kim to post 6 weird things about me. I don't think 6 is enough but I will try to narrow it down since I don't think you want to know more than that!1.) I constantly wrap my right big and second toe around my left big toe without noticing it. I didn't realize I did that until I got married when my husband, John pointed it out to me.2.) I have unusually strong and hard as a rock nails. Whenever I clip them it sounds like a lasso is being whipped throughout the whole house - also another thing pointed out by John. I once woke everybody up in the house (kids included) when I decided to clip my nails one morning.3.) I love to eat Ramen Noodles for breakfast. I was so sad when the founder, Momofuku Ando died this past year. Check out the History of Ramen Noodles if you love them like I do.4.) I love Ovaltine sandwiches. What is this, you ask? You know, the dry, powdery chocolate mix placed on a piece of bread.
Who Says Diaper Changing Isn't Dangerous? 1970-01-01 00:59:59 As per usual, I was up around 1 AM last night (well, I haven't gone to bed yet since I was stalking other people's blogs) because Ava had woken up crying and had to have her diaper changed. This has been going on for days now ever since we decided to put her in her own crib. She always seems to wake up around one or two in the morning, and I, being the neurotic mom that I am, always change her diaper just in case she wakes up another time because of having a wet one. So I lay her down on the guest bed to change her. At that moment John (who was also still up) decided to walk in and say hi to baby girl. As I turned around to look at him and reach for a clean diaper at the same time, my entire body (which was on the bed) decided to lurch itself backwards and I fell flat on my a** with my legs up in the air. I ended up hitting the back of my head on the bottom of the crib! Ouch!! John said he didn't know whether to laugh or be concerned - I guess he felt the latter because he did come Read more:Diaper

Valentine Wishes 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I thought about having cheap but professional photos done for Valentine
's but it's been too cold to go out and we're stuck here today with about seven inches of snow. Don't worry, the kids were not out of their clothes for long. Hope you like them! Read more:Wishes
Tutu Many Pictures 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Warning: You are about to view A LOT of pictures of Ava in her tutu. I got a litle carried away taking these photos. I never had a tutu when I was a little girl (although I did attend one ballet class when I was six - until someone STOLE my ballet outfit in the changing room!). I used to think that tutus were a little too girly. But when I saw this one at a closing baby boutique at half priceI just had to get it, along with a No-Slippy-Hair-Clippy - her very first hair accesory!!! Read more:Pictures
My Baby's Got a Big Head ;-) 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I took these shots last week when I found Cameron rummaging through his box of toys and discovered last year's winter hat. I couldn't believe he wanted to put it on and to my surprise, it still fit. His head circumference has always been in the 95th percentile. We always had a difficult time putting things over his head - we'd like to think it's because he's an absolute genius ;-) - he can actually name a few letters of the alphabet! Thank goodness I had a C-section (ok, way too much information...). Anyway, he's been sporting this hat for the last few days now and loves to look at himself in the mirror. The other day he had this on for over an hour running all over the house. I had to take it off because I was afraid his brain cells would overheat and burn off! Just kidding. Here's one of my favorites, just so typical Cameron! Read more:Big Head
Questioning My Parenting Skills 1970-01-01 00:59:59 When I found out I was pregnant with Ava, Cameron was only three months old. She was a total surprise. I thought to myself, am I going to be able to do this? Of course! If the baby's anything like Cameron, it will be a breeze! However, I am still scratching my head wondering how two human beings from the same genetic makeup can be so totally different. For example, Cameron always liked being in the car while Ava does not like being strapped in anywhere - especially her car seat. Cameron would take two to three hour naps at a time while Ava would only sleep for a half hour, sometimes less. We were so proud of ourselves and told everyone how Cameron was such an easy baby. People would ask us how he was and we'd say, Oh he's so easy going and doesn't fuss much. Their immediate reply was, Wait until you have another! Well, it wasn't too long before we had another and Ava came into this world with a bang. She definitely knows what she wants or doesn't want and will let you know it. My Read more:Parenting

Ode To My Inlaws 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I think I am one of the luckiest people on earth to have the most wonderful inlaws. My mom used to say how she was blessed to have wonderful inlaws herself - and I agree. I loved my grandparents so much. And now I am just as blessed. With my parents living in Toronto, Canada (a five hour drive from our house), I don't get to see them as often. So my inlaws have given me a lot of support and love as if I was their own daughter. And like most grandparents, they absolutely adore our children. They have done so much for me and John, offering to watch the kids two to three times a week. They actually call us to see if they can babysit!!! John and I get to have a "date night" once a week for a couple of hours while my inlaws play with the kids at our house. And so to my inlaws, Jerry and Cheryl, this post is for you.I didn't have any of Cameron with my inlaws but I did get this shot with one of his favorite toys at their house.

Future Track Stars? 1970-01-01 00:59:59 We went to visit Shana and Aubree a couple of days ago for a little playdate while Ava was at my mother inlaw's. I had the opportunity to take some photos of the kids but it was more fun to just sit and watch them run after each other. So I only got a couple of clear shots. I have yet to figure out ISO, shutter speed, etc. on my camera - even though it's just a point and shoot, but you can still fiddle with the settings. But who has time for that when you have two running toddlers all over the house? How do photographers do it? Here's Aubree showing her athletic skills. I just noticed something. Cameron must have more teeth coming in since he constantly has his fingers in his mouth. I cannot even count how many teeth he has. When he smiles John calls his teeth little Chicklets (like the bubble gum)!! Cameron loved Aubree chasing after him. She was running with a plastic bag and he just thought that was the funniest thing in the world. Shana, thanks for taking the last two photos. We Read more:Future

Just Because 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Ok, so I'm biased but I had to post this one just because she looks so cute!
Artist In The Making 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I got Cameron his first set of Crayola markers the other day thinking it's about time he discovered his creative side. I wanted to buy the markers (or "mars", as Cameron likes to call it) a couple of months ago but didn't because I worried that Ava would grab a hold of some and get hurt by putting it in her mouth. Well, she did try to eat some but quickly lost interest and found that paper was more fun to eat. Here's the result of Cameron's first work of art:Is he channeling Jackson Pollock, perhaps?Anyway, he really got into it by the time he was on his third piece of paper. When I left him for a couple of minutes to change Ava's diaper this is what I found. I guess he wanted to experiment on other mediums, like our wood floors...And his own skin... Watch out, world! We might have the next Picasso or Van Gogh! Read more:Artist
Honk, Honk! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Here's Ava and a friend's baby named Austin. If this is how she acts with boys when she gets older, then maybe I don't have anything to worry about...

Addicted But Pissed at "Lost" 2007-03-01 19:23:00 I am obsessed with the tv show, Lost. However, I always end up getting pissed off at the end of each episode. I never really got into it until the second season aired. Big mistake. I have not stopped watching it ever since. I couldn't wait until the show aired again after thirteen weeks on hiatus. I am so involved with the show that I cannot bring myself to stop watching it since I have wasted the last couple of years hoping they would reveal something more than little bits and pieces of the island and the "others". Instead, the writers mess with your head adding another mystery to ponder over. I guess the writers are really smart getting you hooked and keeping you hooked. Now I know what a crack head feels like...And of course, what's a post without pictures? So I've made my own version of Cameron getting Lost (lost under my fake tree, that is;-) ). Ava unfortunately did not like the texture of the tree so you won't be seeing her in these pictures. How funny is that? You can defini Read more:Addicted

Ava Is 9 Months! 2007-03-03 05:07:00 Ava turned nine months today (I'm rounding it up since there's only 28 days in February and her birthday is May 31st). I still cannot believe it. Within a month she has mastered her crawling skills and constantly pulls herself up on anything she can lay her hands on. If she's in the mood she might even give you a couple of steps while holding on to anything - whether it's a table, a pant leg, or even Cameron's hair. She loves to say "Baa" - ball, "Kaa" - car, and "buh" - book. Hhhmmm, I think her big brother (or Kuya, in Tagalog, my native language) is teaching her a few things when I'm not looking. She loves to laugh and giggles when Cameron touches her belly. She still has tiny little hands and feet. And she is still my little firecracker. And of course, everybody adores her. How could you not? My cat, Chloe decided to join in on the photo shoot. Unfortunately, this was the only one I got. I tried giving her a piece of baloney to make her stay put, but Ava kept reaching for it. Read more:Months
Sick as a Dog But Still a Ladies Man 2007-03-04 16:05:00 I thought we would do something fun to celebrate Ava turning nine months. Unfortunately Cameron has been sick with the some kind of flu like virus for the last couple of days. Poor little guy. He had a temperature of 102.9 degrees last night and was throwing up. This is the sickest he's been. However, he still managed to get some play time at the doctor's office and sport a rockin' t-shirt... Read more:Ladies Man
The 21 Month Old Spotted Toddler 2007-03-06 18:11:00 Well, Cameron entered his twenty first month of life with red spots all over his body. His fever broke late sunday afternoon and I thought, hurray, it's over and now I just have to wait until Ava gets the same virus, (whatever it is). Unfortunately I noticed him getting tiny little red dots on his face the next day and when I lifted up his shirt they were all over his trunk and back. I am taking him to the doctor's again (after just being there yesterday for Ava's Well Baby visit). I don't know if it's Chicken Pox since he already got the shots for it when he turned one last year. My poor little guy is a little on the itchy and grumpy side and has the face of a pimpled teenager :-(. He still managed to play with his cars and tractors, though. And I was able to take this picture of him sitting still yesterday. Happy 21 months, Cameron! Hope you feel better soon. Read more:Month
Wishing I Had Another Me 2007-03-07 04:52:00 I will keep saying this over and over again: How do mothers with multiples do it???? Shana and I were in the mall last week when we saw a mother pushing a triple stroller with three little boys (about 15 months)in one hand and holding on to twin girls with the other!!!!! I later found out that we have the same pediatrician and that she has two older kids under the age of ten! So that's SEVEN KIDS altogether! She looked so calm and collected, and there I was with just one of my kids (I can't even bring myself to take both children out on my own). I worry all the time. I worried last year when Cameron was sick while still pregnant with Ava. And it seems like this time around the worry doubled. I am counting the days hoping that Ava does not get what Cameron had (which, by the way, was Roseola). These past few days I have been wishing that I could be split in half so I can give both children my attention at the same time. The craziness always seems to happen during diaper changing. Stuffed Animal Fun 2007-03-09 06:07:00 Here's a game I'd like to call Where's Cameron and Ava? My children have way too many toys. I don't know what happened but all of a sudden we have accumulated a bunch of stuffed animals that they don't even play with. So I decided to dump them all on the carpet and let the kids roll around with them. I can't believe I got a shot of these two together. It was very hard to get them to stay in one spot. Whenever I take pictures of the kids together Cameron can get a little too excited having his baby sister next to him and would always tap her right on her head whenever she gets too close. Oh well. I think they had fun. Read more:Stuffed

Basking In The Sunlight 2007-03-10 20:07:00 Finally, it was warm enough to go outside!!! While pregnant with Ava last year, I always envisioned how I would be able to take both kids out on the backyard without any problems, but when the time came I was too chicken to do it by myself. Some of you moms must think, this woman is crazy, what is the big deal with taking both kids outside? Yes, I am crazy. And I stress out too easily. I had visions of Cameron getting run over by a car on our street while I was holding Ava, but it was just such a beautiful day not to get out. It took me 35 minutes to bundle them up and strap Ava in my Bjorn carrier. By the time we were all ready I was sweating bullets. But I didn't care, sweaty armpits or not, we were going out. And we enjoyed the beautiful sunshine. Spring time here we come!By the way, I didn't realize how hard it was to take photos with a 9 month old strapped onto your body. Needless to say she did not look too happy being stuck with me while looking at Cameron running wild all ov Read more:Sunlight
Ode To My Cat, Chloe 2007-03-12 05:01:00 I have always been a cat person and throughout all the different stages of my life I have always owned a cat. But out of all the cats I've had, Chloe
holds a very special place in my heart. John gave her to me as a surprise birthday present five years ago. She is not your typical lazy, leave-me-alone, don't-want-to-be-bothered feline. She's actually more like a dog. She follows you around, is very affectionate, and fetches! The reason why she is so special to me is that she has always been so sweet to my children. Clumps of her hair have been pulled off, toys thrown at her, and she is almost forgotten ever since I had my children. Through it all she still manages to stay sweet and would always bring back a piece of crumpled up paper when thrown up in the air. When things get a little "hairy" (pardon the pun) with the kids, she manages to show up right at the exact moment when I think I'm about to lose it, and somehow change the dynamic the situation. Cameron and Ava just adore her
My Little Rice Farmer 2007-03-13 03:55:00 Never let your child eat RICE unsupervised. Even for a minute. This is the result :I then thought it was appropriate to take this photo (the only one I could get because Cameron would rather play with the hat than wear it). He IS half Filipino after all.
Ava Overload 2007-03-14 05:42:00 For my parents, who are probably wondering why I haven't posted too many pictures of Ava lately. Well, here they are. This should keep you guys going for the next couple of days. She is so much fun to shoot since all I have to do is bribe her with a couple of fruit puffs and she's happy. I wish Cameron was that easy. She's such a girly-girl. Although I have seen her moving Cameron's little Playskool cars back and forth, so I guess she has a little bit of tomboy in her as well.
