Yes....Why The Moon, Indeed! 2006-12-06 20:50:00 Photo: FlickrI like to post a little of this, a little of that on this Moon Blog, so this blog isn't strictly astrological or scientific. It's a mish-mosh of information about the Moon with a little astrology, quotes, interesting links & articles, and personal stuff thrown into the mix. If anyone would ever like to be a Guest Blogger, please let me know, and we'll see what we can work out. In any event, I found this link interesting. It's titled "Why the Moon?" from Astrobiology Magazine.Technorati Tags:quotation blog, moonphotoblog, astrology blog, Astrobiology Magazine

Many of my nightly dreams are prophetic, but often there is a twist. Such was the case today. Last night I dreamed my partner and I couldn't get to our home because there was a large flood, and so we were stuck in Kahului, another city and area of Maui. Today the stormy weather and heavy rains came, and many areas of Maui were experiencing flash floods. Just awhile ago, I received a call from my daughter, and she and her partner were unable to make it to their home because of the flooding. They have a warm place to retreat to at her partner's Mother's home, so I blessed knowing she is safe and sound.

Having had an audience with His Holiness The Dalai Lama this March at his home in McLeod Ganj, India and experienced first hand his humor, earthiness and wisdom, I love this quote:
"We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor." - His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
So for this Sunday
's BYB, I wish to contribute this:
I'm grateful and blessed for my kind, considerate, happy, helpful neighbors.
I'm grateful for moonlight. Recently a friend told me about a new hi-tech healing device using moonlight which she saw on a television program, but I have yet to find a link to this story on the net. If someone sees it, could you please forward it onto me? I'm fascinated with the moon!
I'm grateful for interesting astrological information that arrives in my inbox such as this one in Mountain Astrologer by Donna Cunningham titled "Venus-Pluto Aspects: It's Nobody's Business If I Do". I Read more:Blessings

The largest electromagnetic energy emission in the last 30 years has been recorded on the Sun, the Shernberg State Astronomy Institute said on Thursday. This energy outburst may damage equipment of space satellites, the scientists say. Doctors warn that the emission is dangerous for those afflicted with cardiovascular illnesses as well as for healthy people.
Scientists at the Shernberg Astronomy Institute of the Moscow State University have reported record-high emissions of electromagnetic energy on the Sun, the biggest since the 1970s. Over the past few days, the volume of sun radiation, or X9, has exceeded the normal level 1,000-fold. The scientists call this phenomenon an anomaly and say that the Sun is now in a stage when sunspots, sources of high electromagnetic radiation, are unusual.

"We have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour.
Now you must go back and tell the people that this is The Hour.
And there are things to be considered. Where are you living? What are you doing? What are your relationships? Are you in the right relation? Where is your water? Know your garden.
It is time to speak your truth: Create your community. Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for the leader: This could be a good time!
There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold onto the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart and they will suffer greatly.
Know the river has its destination.
The elders say we must let go of the shore, and push off into the river, keep our eyes open, and our head above the water.
See who is in there and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally. Least of all ourselves. For the moment that we do, Read more:Great

"The writer perhaps more than any of his fellow artists, has access to the human subconscious. His words sink deep, shaping dreams, easing the pain of loneliness, banishing incantations and omens, keeping alive the memories of the race, providing intimations of immortality, nourishing great anticipations, sharpening the instinct for justice, and imparting respect for the fragility of life. These functions are essential for human evolution. Without them, civilization becomes brittle and breaks." - Norman Cousins

Blog Your Blessings Sunday 2006-12-18 03:30:00
Whew...the Holy Daze sure do make one run their a$$ off! But I made it here to add my blessings and intentions to the Blog Your BlessingsSunday
group! ESPECIALLY during the holidays, I am reminded of how lucky and blessed so many of us are, and that includes me! I have a family I love and who loves me...a beautiful home...friends...my needs are met...I have the opportunity to share and help others...barely do I think of a need and it has already manifested!
I want to share a story about manifesting which I read in a book by one of my favorite authors, Stuart Wilde. He wrote an hilarious story about bending down to pick up a penny in the street(a good habit of his and now mine since he influenced me) when he was wearing a tuxedo and got completely splattered with mud in the process. I read his book about money and manifesting maybe twenty years ago, but ever since I read his book, I always bend down to pick up money, even if it's only a penny. His thought form was that our subcon

I agree with a lot of it. The link is here. The astrologer is Michael Lutin who writes for Vanity Fair Magazine."The very least you can do in your life is to figure out what you hope for. Andthe most you can do is live inside that hope. Not admire it from a distance butlive right in it, under its roof." Prayer 2006-12-27 20:56:00
Photo: Flickr
"Prayer
is a stepping aside; a letting go, a quiet time of listening and loving. It should not be confused with supplication of any kind, because it is a way of remembering your holiness. Why should holiness entreat, being fully entitled to everything Love has to offer? And it is Love you go in prayer. Prayer is an offering; a giving up of yourself to be at one with Love. There is nothing to ask because there is nothing left to want. That nothingness becomes the altar of God. It disappears in Him." - from The Song of Prayer: Prayer, Forgiveness, Healing (An Extension of the Principles of A Course in Miracles)

Blog Your Blessings Sunday 2008-03-02 00:46:00 My angels are always helping me and blessing me in every way every day. I'm constantly telling them Thank You! for all they do. The angels are very real to me, and although I don't SEE them, I experience their handiwork, their angelic assistance. Since I invited them to collaborate with me, my faith has grown in them because of their unfailing help. They've never let me down, and they've performed many miracles that have amazed me because of the intricacies of timing. I never feel bereft because I know I don't walk alone. Some people could debate what I experience isn't really the help of "angels" but instead a more expansive multidimensional 'me' which operates in a mysterious, helpful fashion. And that very well may be. Whatever it is, I prefer to call this phenomena My Angels. It's my s Read more:Blessings

Blog Your Blessings Sunday 2008-02-24 12:02:00 Many tropical birds fly, live, and visit our property on Maui, and we are blessed by their visitations. Yesterday this beautiful white egret walked around our yard blessing us with it's presence. I've seen egrets before, and they favor the Eastern side of our property. Birds are often symbols of the Holy Spirit--and especially white birds with the white dove being the most famous.Later in the day we visited the Heart Shrine Relic Tour and were blessed by the relics and Lama Gyalsten of the Maui Dharma Center. If you'd like to view photos of these precious relics, I will be placing a slide show on another of my blogs, Who's Yo Mama. The Four Immeasurables Prayer"May all sentient beings enjoy happiness and the causes of happiness;May they be free from suffering and the causes of suffering;May Read more:Blessings

Do The Stars Rule Us or Guide Us? 2008-02-22 15:25:00 Photos: Charles PfeilThis morning my partner mentioned to me that something didn't feel quite right about the daily vibes. He couldn't put his finger on it, and he asked me to check his astrology chart to see what might be making him feel a touch anxious. So I did.And I discovered some good aspects for him. He's playing in a golf tournament tomorrow, and with the transiting conjunction of Mercury and Venus in his sign Aquarius happening on this day, I can't think of a better day to be social and communicate with others. He's teamed up with his best golfing buddy who is an excellent golfer who will keep him competitive. With the Mercury-Venus conjunction, he might be having too much fun to seriously compete, so it's good that he has a competitive partner. The reason for this story and my be Read more:Guide
Blog Your Blessings Sunday 2008-02-17 12:06:00 The Year of the Wood Rat began on Feb. 7th, and I'm already experiencing the blessings from the Rat Year! Here is what is written on the Squidoo site about the Rat Year:"In the "Year of the Rat", we can expect 12 months of plentiful opportunities and prospects not to mention being relatively free of turbulence, (which is great to know especially if you're planning on making some long-term investments, starting new projects, or keeping the home fires burning brightly). It's also a rather fine time to socialise and grab a sumptuous meal or two with friends and family!"The blessings I've received thus far are many dining experiences hosted by others, growing friendships, and expanded networking and money-making opportunities. Uranus Makes It Official 2008-02-15 20:09:00 Photo: Charles PfeilToday is the official day--the day when Transiting Uranus is EXACTLY SQUARE my Natal Uranus. According to the astrology books, this is the time period when I'm supposed to feel old, and this is what the eminent astrologer Robert Hand writes, "There is often a crisis associated with this transit, when you suddenly realize that you are getting old."And you know what--in a strange way, this statement is factual. I could look in the mirror and say to myself, "You need a face lift girlfriend!" But the way this transit is impacting me is like this: I want to travel. I want adventure. I want freedom. I want to play. I want to do crazy things. I want to do things I've never done before.I wonder if other Baby Boomers feel like me. We're the generation that wants to turn back ti Read more:Official
Blog Your Blessings Sunday 2008-02-10 11:04:00 Today is my Significant Other's birthday, an important one for he turns 65. When he was born , his Mother brought him into the world all by herself in a farm house in the backwoods of Ohio. She remembered the time as "around dawn". As you can well imagine-- giving birth by yourself-- you wouldn't exactly be thinking about the time. Who knows if she even had a clock?! I had his chart rectified by an excellent astrologer so the correct time of his birth would be known, and this rectified chart is the astrological chart I employ for him. I believe it's correct. For example, his three most loved people all have their birthdays one day apart from one another, and that's where one of his midpoints lie: his favorite sister, his best friend, and ME! He's been a HUGE blessing in my life, and a grea Read more:Blessings

Solar Eclipse Day 2008-02-06 14:27:00 Photo: terragalleriaLike most people, I've been following the primary returns and wondering how today's Solar
Eclipse will impact the outcome. I'm also observing my partner's chart with the current Aquarius stellium (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Chiron, North Node, and Neptune) surrounding his Natal Aquarius Sun at 20 degrees on both sides. Will some or all of the business opportunities go his way? With the Stellium in Aquarius, the outcome of the Democratic race suggests that the candidate who most calls for CHANGE would eventually secure the Democratic nomination--and we know who has made that word the highlight of his campaign, don't we? We shall see."To accomplish great things, we must not only act,but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." Anatole France
