There Is No Arizona
2008-02-20 09:07:00
Well, there isn't according to country singer Jamie O'Neal, but I fully intend to prove her wrong this upcoming May.You see, my mom and younger brother live in the non-existant Arizona and by putting in vacation time just hours ago I am setting out on the journey to find Arizona. My brother, after some hardships, is graduating high school and since the last time I saw either of them was nearly 3 years ago, Al and figure it's about time. So, we'll get to watch my brother walk across a stage - or like me, a football field - with (what he claims) about 7 other people. I'm incredibly excited - not only to see my mom and brother - but to get the hell out of dodge. It's been years since I've actually been anywhere other than Texas and Alfred the furthest he's gone is Louisiana. We were going to f

Seriously, you haven't slept until you've been sung to sleep by your significant other. Even better when the only song they can recall is Baa Baa Black Sheep and for the next hour you both try and recall the words to songs you should know.Itsy Bitsy SpiderLittle Bunny FuFuRock-a-Bye BabyMuffin ManHumpty Dumptyand for some reason -Tutty Fruity, Baby Love and Blue Moon were thrown about.

Compliments
2008-02-11 14:55:00
I love my husband and he tries to be sweet to me, but I’m not good with compliments – so I usually counter with some smartass comment. Some excerpts from the weekend.Al: You know after six years of looking at you, I still enjoy it.Me: Right. We’ll see how you feel after sixty years when my boobs are dragging the floor.Al: Why do you have to always ruin the images in my head?Al: You looked really pretty last night with that red shirt on.Me: It wasn’t red, it was burgundy. There’s a difference.Al: I love our life together.Me: Why do you always say that whenever I’m in the kitchen? What is this – the 50s?Al: Get me a beer – BITCH.Me: Great, now we’re out of the 50s and in the trailer park down the road. Why don’t I put on some heels and tease my hair too?Al: Seriously. Do

A Gift To Myself Part Dos
2008-02-04 10:40:00
So, previously I left you hanging with two simple words – Nintendo NES.That night after Al’s ill-fated attempt at deceit, I found plenty of Nintendo’s on ebay. I bid on one, lost it, but didn’t let that deter me from my mission. The next day while at work, I found one and because it had the nifty little “Buy it Now” icon, I did. It came in last Tuesday, works like a charm and makes me incredibly happy.Al continued to give me a hard time about it –“I can’t believe you bought that.”“You’re such a dork.”“I hope you don’t get confused as to what button does what! There are so many to choose from!”That is until Friday.Friday night Al went to do a side job for a little extra moolah with a buddy of his, Cole. I came home, worked out (Yes, I’m actually sticking wi

A Gift To Myself Part 1
2008-01-23 16:08:00
I’m relatively easy to make happy. I don’t require much – a can of ravioli’s, a bottle of water and an excellent book will make me the giddiest girl in the whole wide world. I don’t want for anything. I have enough money that I can easily pay for anything that’s needed and if I want something I can, usually and within reason, go out and purchase it.For the most part I don’t, only because like I mentioned earlier – it doesn’t take much to make me happy and spending money on something that’s not really needed has never been easy for me. Very rarely does my heart become set on something I just have to have but when it does, I’ll justify my want for being just that – a want. It’s not necessary, I could be spending my money on something more worthwhile, like new mop he

Twilight
2008-01-11 14:39:00
I've become very obsessed in a short amount of time with a series by Stephenie Meyer - Twilight . It's about vampires, werewolves, teenagers, love and its fucking amazing.I started the first book Tuesday evening and finished Wednesday evening. I went and bought the following two books – New Moon and Eclipse on Thursday during my lunch break. I started reading New Moon and have finished it during today’s lunch break.Right now, I'm on a fricking reading high.I can't get the mental images out of my head about what has happened in the novels. I feel like I'm IN the novels. So, now, I'm incredibly anxious and dreading the fact that I only have one book left.I want to start reading it to know what happens in the future, I don't want to start reading it because the moment it touches my hands i

Pooping With Emilie
2008-01-07 09:22:00
It's been awhile since I've talked with Emilie , mostly because she's too busy getting wasted in areas far away from me, but we managed to catch a few moments on IM last Friday. Here's my favorite excerpt -Emilie: sorry..it is taking me awhile to read your messages b/c everything on my computer screen is rotated 90 degrees for some reason. I have to go to Best BuyTamara: ok. that's just fuckin weird.Tamara: only you Emilie would have a screen that does that.Emilie: I KNOW!Emilie: i have to turn my head all funny to read it and shit.Tamara: Haha, I read that as - 'I have to turn my head all funny to read and shit.'Tamara: So like, you have to turn your head in order to shit.Tamara: and I was like - Why the fuck is she shitting and talking to me at the same time?Emilie: LOLTamara: But then I

Resolutions
2008-01-03 12:35:00
2008 Resolutions :1. My muffin top has recently reached bread basket proportion, so much like the rest of our obese nation, I’m heading into the glorious world of dieting. Although, I’ll refer to it as a lifestyle change, because uh, well, simply using the word diet makes me want to gorge on snicker covered ice cream cake.2. Put forth effort in my classes ALL semester long. I tend to make great strides either in the first 2 weeks or the last 2 weeks of my classes. Maybe by spreading out my need for a high grade throughout the whole semester I’ll be less stressed, resulting in more high – quality (read low quality) blogs.3. Start putting up laundry instead of throwing it in a basket on our living room floor. I hate putting away clothes but I also hate having to searc

Happy Things
2008-03-14 16:39:00
Things that have made me happy today :- Math re-test went particularly well (I hope)- The sun is out. It’s 88 outside and beautiful.- It’s Friday.- Next week is spring break which means I have no classes and actually get to go HOME at 5. Amazing.- The Dreamgirls soundtrack- Stepping on the scale and seeing a 2 pound reduction- The sweet tea at lunch didn’t taste like arse.- I only had to blow my nose 4 times today, as opposed to the 40 times last Friday.Honestly, it doesn’t take much. Now, all I have to do is keep up the awesomeness for the remaining semester. What little things have made you happy recently?

Touch My Body
2008-03-27 01:42:00
I've had this song stuck in my head for the past two damn days and the only words I know are "touch my body, throw me on the floor."Sometimes I replay conversations in my head, usually twisting them around to my liking - I do it with songs too.Not unusual, at least I don't think so, I assume a lot of people do this. My problem with it is sometimes I dive too deep into it and end up saying things out loud.Usually in public. And that's what happened about 45 minutes ago in Wal-Mart as I was waiting to check out.The look on the couple's face in front of me - Priceless.

My Toes
2008-03-28 15:28:00
I feel like my toes are exceptionally perfect today. The polish matches my skirt. I attempted to take a picture of them to show you how awesome they are, but...the picture just doesn't do justice to how they make me feel today.

April Fool's
2008-04-03 16:54:00
My sister's best friend called me to tell me my sister was in jail. After I sufficiently freaked out she yelled - "April Fool's!"Since it was actually my sister's prank on her, but then she played it on me - we decided my sister was the true mastermind that we had to get back. So, on April 2nd her best friend told her I found Alfred cheating on me and that I couldn't get a hold of her.She didn't believe her, guessing it was a joke to get her back for her 'jail prank'.I forgot that we were doing the joke, because I had slept since then.Alfred played along, telling her he didn't know where I was, and he didn't go home that night. She believed it was true because I never answered her phone calls.I was in a meeting for 4 hours, and had no idea this was happening. At 5, I had 15 missed called, 8 ne

SunBurn - As told by MS Paint
2008-04-07 14:29:00
Because it was 80 and beautiful outside this last Saturday, I opted to wear a tank top while working in the garden. Because I was enjoying myself and didn't really expect to be out there more than 30 minutes, I didn't realize the sun had it out for my back. So, today, I give to you my very first MS Paint experience.I've named it "The Essence of Sun Beams"

Just what I want to do on a Saturday
2008-04-30 17:04:00
Our washer is leaking water, causing lots of curses to be thrown about and pants to be worn multiple times. We thought we just needed to clean out the pipes but upon further inspection we found out that the pipes under our house are dying. We need to fix them. To prevent us from having to bust up our kitchen floor, we’ve opted to dig underneath the house. Alfred has asked a friend to help out in doing this, and by help we mean pay the guy.Conversation from last night regarding the broken pipes -Tam: So were you able to get that guy to help us out this weekend?Al: Yeah, a 100 bucks a day. So, what I need you to do is be there for me.Tam: I’m not digging underneath the house, I’ve got things I need to do that are above ground.Al: No, I mean, I’m paying this guy a 100 bucks a day. If

The Crazy Couple
2008-05-23 09:22:00
Alfred and I are really two peas in a pod, I don’t think anyone else would be able to master my sense of humor the way he does. We play off each other when in public with other people so much that people are often surprised at how far we will take things. Neither of us get embarrassed easily, and to be honest – we like being ‘the crazy couple’.Last night, at a party we attended (well it wa

The Little Mermaid
2008-07-24 11:00:00
Growing up The Little Mermaid was probably my favorite Disney movie, and so the other day as I was searching through artists to listen to while working - I found the soundtrack to the Broadway musical. I've been listening to it for the past two days, pretty much non-stop from 8 to 5.Remember how I previously mentioned I become obsessive with books, and start tracking down author websites, reading

Vacation
2008-07-21 09:38:00
So, we went on vacation like a month ago. You know, to Arizona. We decided to take a road trip, because we thought it'd be cheaper than two airline tickets roundtrip. We were most definitely wrong, but we got some fun pictures outta it. And a lot of random arguments and eye rolling. Not to mention 20 dollars worth of gas on the ground at the gas station, good times good times. Some pictures below.
