Abalone Cove Shoreline Park Engagement Photography 2008-02-24 12:55:00 Good day,I am actually updating this post on time! *pats self* Yesterday we had the opportunity to photograph an animated couple - Melissa and Michael - at the absolutely majestic Abalone
Cove in Palos Verdes (Southern California). Despite the cold weather and light rain, the two of them braved the elements with only jeans and dress shirts! As for myself, I donned a heavy wool coat and thermals underneath. How-To Lighting 2008-02-18 23:06:00 My friend Gavin Holt introduced me to the LA Strobist event, which is going to be hosted again next week at the Whittier Narrows Park (Los Angeles). Inspired by Gavin's pictures, we decided to have a quick lighting session of our own. Check out these pictures! This is Doug jumping from an elevated platform: This is me trying to look creepy because of the encroaching branches: These images were produced using an AlienBee 800 watt strobe at full power bounced from a reflective umbrella. It was placed about 4 feet from the subject and shot at ISO 100, 1/250 and f/20.0. These settings are relative to the sun's intensity. This session was totally fun (even though setting up was not). I highly encourage everyone to attend the LA Strobist event! It will be our first time :)Hope to see you Read more:Lighting

Pasadena Engagement Photography 2008-02-03 20:17:00 Hello,Yesterday Doug and I had the opportunity to work with Andrew and Alisa. These two were sweethearts since junior high school. After much patience, they decided to tie the knot! The following are some pictures photographed during their engagement session at Pasadena
.Sharing the love ~ XOXOThe following are some pictures from our stint at the Pasadena City Hall.Doesn't Alisa have some adorable shoes? :DSome urban pictures...While in Old Town Pasadena, Doug coaxed the employees at Johnny Rockets to let us take pictures there. They even offered Alisa and Andrew hats! How cool is that? The first one we gave it a warm and nostalgic feel to the picture. This juxtaposed image maintains the sterile feel of Johnny Rockets. Downtown Disney Engagement Photography 2008-01-23 02:28:00 The Furious Photographers and our wedding photography workshop participants had the opportunity to photograph Sharon and Derek's engagement photography session at DowntownDisney
in Anaheim. This animated couple frolicked around while we photographed. Some simple portraits against a solid colored wall! This is in the midst of their frolicking! I love the expression from the passerby :)While taking a respite, we decided to take advantage of the opportunity. This aerial view lends a different feel to the picture. Just a simple smile! :)...and more smiles!Sharon and Derek decided to add some flair to their pictures by not refraining themselves in front of the camera. Hyatt Regency Wedding Photography 2007-12-28 00:31:00 Hello all,As promised, I am happy to finally unveil our super cool graphically manipulated picture of the groom! All props are due to Doug's extensive efforts to create a Matrix poster replica. To celebrate and observe Sarika's (beautiful bride) culture, James, the handsome groom, donned a traditional Indian wedding / ceremony outfit. Since the Indian outfit reminded him of Neo from Matrix the movie, he decided to bring along some wicked shades to complement his clothing. The left image is the original image prior to edit. It was photographed in a completely dark room with only his face gently lit by a flashlight. I put the original picture in juxtaposition to the final image to show you the work that was done in order to achieve the final effect. We were so thrilled with the result t Read more:Hyatt
Rancho Cucamonga Wedding Photography 2007-12-21 17:17:00 Greetings,Unfortunately, the graphically manipulated image will not be posted now. Doug will make that post later on. What I would like to share now are some portrait pictures of a beautiful bride - Kim Scott. She looked so gorgeous in the afternoon light that I had to make it a priority to share. I will get some of her wedding photographs up when the opportunity allows. This picture looks as if it was pulled from a CD cover =)Doesn't she have the best smile? Julie photographed this wedding. One of my new year's resolutions is to be more updated har harWithout further adieu, I present to you Patti and Matt's engagement photography session. They are due to get married in January so they decided to get some vintage pictures taken at the beautiful Metro UnionStation
in Los Angeles
. We started around 2pm so the sun would give us a nice warm yellow glow. During the photography session, Patti and Matt requested for some artistic poses, so we cranked out a picture fit for a Sketchers' ad (left). =) Hugs and kisses are encouraged during engagement photography sessions. However, butt grabbing warrants a spot on our blog as well. CHARGE! This is something new that Doug and I were trying - combining shadows with subjects to cr Read more:Engagement

NBC Seafood RestaurantAlthough the day looked gloomy in the morning, the warm sun decided to show itself by the time Lucy and Steven's wedding commenced. We had the privilege of photographing this intimate tea-ceremony at their respective homes.Following the ceremony, the wedding party decided to take some pictures at the San Gabriel Mission since it was adjacent to their reception hall - NBC Seafood Restaurant (Monterey Park). While at the San Gabriel Mission, we encountered several other wedding parties because of this location's popularity. As a result, we suggested to photograph on the railroad tracks - which were not very far - and in front of the local theater. The following slideshow is the one we displayed at their wedding reception per request of the bride.

The Dress Sessions"Offering 3 free 'Trash The Dress' sessions!"Just about everyone is talking about the new buzz word, “Trash the dress” or “TTD.” It is a rather new concept whereas the bride seeks liberation from trashing her wedding dress. Thus far there have been a few reasons floating around why one would trash her wedding dress:To show her husband how committed she is because she will never need it againTo trash the reminder of what was considered a stressful dayNever need it again – food for mothsNot my picture and I do not know whose it isWhatever the justification may be, I am sure brides think it through thoroughly. Crowne Wedding PhotographyThe zesty wedding couple - Ashley and Andy - are USC fanatics. Since the entire Furious Photographers team consists of UCLA alumnus, it was weird to be in a house that had a USC flag, floor mat, blankets, etc. everywhere. Check out their sweet ride - Ford Mustang Shelby GT-HAshley and Andy had a traditional tea ceremony wedding. This consisted of respectful offering of tea to their relatives in exchange for their blessings. Aside from blessings and well-wishes, they also received gifts - Ashley and Andy displaying their "bling." :DThe wedding party decided to take some wedding pictures at Downtown Disney. As much as they wanted to take wedding photographs, many of them were glued to the big screen television at ESPN Zone
Rosarito Photography 2007-10-01 12:26:00 Rosarito PhotographyA good friend of mine, William, asked Julie and I to go to Rosarito last weekend. Having never been there, we consented! We stayed at a beach front house - 4 beds 3 baths. It was awesome! The west side of the house was all glass, which allowed maximum view of the ocean and sunset. My favorite time of the day was the latter - it lent the house a warm yellow glow for a stint. Friends and family all went to Rosarito to celebrate William's sister's birthday - Susan Vong (awesome girl). Here's a group picture of all of the ladies in RosaritoSince the patio was connected to the beach and the wind was mild, we sailed kites a lot. One experience worth noting was horse riding. We made arrangements with the vendor to bring horses to our patio. Riders get to ride along the

Overall, their crude humor and knee-slapping laughs made the hours pass too quickly. It was a blast working with this wedding party! The following are some of their countless wedding photographs that we took during the day. Newport Beach Engagement Photography 2008-03-08 14:21:00 Hello,Flowers are blooming, birds are chirping, what is there not to like about Spring? Doug and I photographed a funky couple - Kim and Edgar - at NewportBeach
(near Corona Del Mar). This beach is a quiet retreat where Kim always goes to when she needs to escape the daily rat race. Newport Beach is also a great location for whale watching! Unfortunately, we did not see any whales. Instead, lots of dolphins greeted the couple near the coastline! They were surprisingly close! I do not have a super long telephoto lens so you can imagine how close they were if you see the picture below. This part of Newport Beach was so beautiful during the morning. I can see why they called it "Inspiration Point." Look at that! They were all playing! Check out the morning glow! For some reason, I Read more:Engagement

Painting With Light 2008-03-25 02:10:00 Hello,Here is a picture that Doug and I tried out on our friend, Elijah. It is a process called "Painting
With Light." I used to do it a lot at UCLA when I was bored at night. I would set a camera on a long exposure and draw pictures with a flashlight similar to that created in the current Sprint commercials. I was bored a lot of the time. In the picture above, we had Elijah sit very still on the sofa. Afterwards, I used a flashlight and painted areas that I wanted lit. Cool huh? Signing out,Lawrence
UCLA Wedding Photography 2008-03-24 01:28:00 Hello viewers and fellow Bruins,It was a good day to be a Bruin on March 15, 2008. UCLA just beat Stanford in Men's Basketball (67-64) and Angie (the lovely bride) just married Cheston (the charming groom) both on the same night. Both being UCLA alumni, we were thrilled to photograph their wedding, which had a UCLA theme. Weeks before the wedding, Cheston inquired into UCLA's Cheer Squad for "the bears" to come during the reception. Unfortunately, the department did not respond until minutes before the ceremony. As excited as Cheston was about the wedding, he was twice as excited when he received a text message saying, "the bear is coming." Needless to say, the Bruin (UCLA's mascot) joined them during the reception, which was a happy surprise for Angie. This is definitely a cool ide
