An out-of-this-world party for our very own inspiration here at Kids Ahoy took place last Saturday, Mar 15th at the Mariners Building, Malate. It was CJ's 7th Birthday & Movin' up Celebration in-one made more special by the presence of his Dada who flew in just for his "Big Weekend". I would have given this book a five-star rating were it not for part towards the end, which I found most unrealistic (won't tell you about it, as it would spoil the fun for you).
This was a gripping novel. That the narrator was a dead girl in heaven was well-crafted. The sensitivity to the human spirit, with all the emotions of pain and sorrow, anger and grief, fear and confusion, and the whole gamut of human feelings, was evident in the way the narrator viewed each incident, each person, and her own growing realization.
Internet information tells me that this will be made into a movie in 2009. I would definitely watch it. I wonder how they will portray this highly creative, poignant, and deeply-touching novel.

The Do a Good Deed group of DLSU seniors taking their advertising class under Mr. Dennis Gutierrez held last March 13, 2008 a chill put party dubbed DE' STRESSED.
The aim of the party was to gather La Sallians in an event where they can unwind and forget their problems through good music and merry-making. The party was held at the roof-deck of the Torre Lorenzo Building, a stone's throw away from their campus. Over 150 college students came to the party, a number bringing their book donations for AHON Foundation, in exchange for another free drink at the party.
