Using vegetable oil for your vehicle 2007-03-05 00:16:31 This should put a smile on those lobbying for alternative fuel. The Organic Mechanic has come up with a way to have alternative fuel for vehicles using cooking oil instead of diesel.
The usage of cooking oil is brought about by using a proprietary kit called the SuVO Conversion Kit. The SuVO Conversion Kit works by transferring heat from the radiator system to your vegetable oil tank and fuel lines. An electric heater heats the VegOil Fuel Filter at the same time. The heat thins the vegetable oil to a temperature that is appropriate to replace diesel fuel, which will be indicated by the installed Green2Go light on your dash. At this time you flip a switch to activate the fuel valve, and you running are on vegetable oil. Shut down the vehicle on diesel fuel to purge the lines; a reminder buzzer will sound if you forget. The SuVO conversion kit claims to reduce fuel emission by approx. 40-70%.
Prices will depend on what kind of parts your vehicle needs. The Organic Mechanic also offer

Wikipedia to enforce proof of credentials system 2007-03-07 23:04:50 It has been reported today that Wikipedia
’s cloak of anonymity will soon be put to an end with the free Internet encyclopedia planning to ask contributors who claim certain credentials
to identify themselves. It’s about time Wikipedia does something like that. They should have done it a long time ago as that may have minimized the controversies and the slandering practices we have seen lately.
Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales said in interviews by phone and instant message Wednesday from Japan that contributors still would be able to remain anonymous. But he said they should only be allowed to cite some professional expertise in a subject if those credentials have been verified.
“We always prefer to give a positive incentive rather than absolute prohibition, so that people can contribute without a lot of hassle,” Wales wrote.
