No One Understands MeOne says I am stubborn & narrow-minded ....One says I am indecisive ....One asks why I think in such a way ....I care for him as he is the one who brought me up.I care for them as I am their mother. If you can only choose one, which one will you choose?

ShatteredYesterday, I was on my way back home when I received a phone call.I saw the number and I knew it.Only TWO days of working, my replacement had decided to resign. Her family had raised HUGE objection of working in the area and thus she was under pressure. I told her never mind, no need to come to work anymore. She is a fast learner but too bad even herself has some reservations about working in the area, no doubt she stays nearby.I am not an aggressive person and also do not want to force her to continue to work to serve her notice. So what's next for me? Seriously I do not know...next monday school is going to start again...

Fall DownNo! Don't be mistaken, I did not faint again.Everyday was a wet day during the March holidays and yesterday on our way back home, I carried my boy and the other hand holding the umbrella.I slipped, dropped the umbrella and my son fell out from my arm !!Lucky he was unhurt as he landed on the grass, but he was fuming mad at me.I was so apologetic and checked if he had any injuries and was relieved that he was alright. Hubby was around and he was holding girl's hand. Phew...if not, I really do not know how to handle the situation.Haiz ... I am getting more clumsy.

Laughing GameThe 2 kids are especially bonded today as most of the time they are fighting :DMaybe it all started when boy tagged along when daddy brought girl to her phonics lesson. Before leaving, daddy asked boy to give his sister a big hug and his sister was so delighted.During afternoon napping time, they were very unsettled and started to play catching on their bed -_-" When I finally screamed at them, they quietly lay on their bed, looked at each other and suddenly they burst out laughing. They just laughed and laughed and laughed .....It was so contagious that both daddy and me also laughed together with them.I asked my girl why they were laughing and she told me, "We are playing Laughing Game" and continued to laugh ....They are so cute ... and I believe "Laughing Is The Best Medici

Mobile NumberA month ago, daddy taught girl to memorise his mobile number and she could remember it within a day. :)The advantage is she can call her daddy anytime and talk to him. She can even help me to rush him if he has not reached home from work or anywhere. Hahahaha....It came in handy when I fainted the other day, but no one asked her for it. I guess at that moment of shock, she might not be able to remember too.The bad thing is, daddy cannot concentrate on his work if she keeps disturbing him during office hours. But she hasn't done that ever since she knew his number as we did mention to her that she is not supposed to do that. She is now learning to memorise my number :)

2 Years 7 MonthsAfter we prayed on Chu Yi, I feel that boy is getting better from his crying episode.Anyway, a friend told me it's Terrible Two stage for him. Hmmm.....I thought it happened only at the early stage of crossing to the 2 year old mark. When the crying spell started, he was about 2 years 6 months old, still TT stage huh? Maybe really is a growing phase for him as what some mummies commented. Thank you all mummies for the advices! :)My mum ever mentioned to me before that when I was not around, boy was not behaving so oddly. When I was present, he purposely made things so difficult for me, thus making the task of taking care of him rather tough. For the last whole week I was working full day, so he did not throw any bad tantrums, maybe due to my absence.Hmm .... let us see how h

Brands Chicken Essence With Cordyceps. She read about my fainting incident and bought this to build up my health. I am so touched .... :)Our other friend CQ called me up suddenly two saturdays ago to catch up with me and I decided to arrange a gathering for the 3 of us. It has been years since we last met this old friend! They know that it is inconvenient for me to go out and so we decided to gather at my place. All of us are busy with our own lives and I am so glad that they are able to find the time to meet up.We had a nice chit-chat session as we have known one another for 21 years!Hope to meet them again after I have settled all my problems.====

Singapore Science CentreIt's Good Friday yesterday and daddy brought us to Singapore Science Centre. We were hesitant whether to bring the children as they might not be interested but since we can't think of anywhere to go, we decided to try it out.Hmmm, it's been many many years since I last visited SSC and it had changed a lot. There were so many sections for us to explore and here's some of which we enjoyed.Optical IllusionI think only myself enjoyed Optical Illusion the best because I can figure out the illusion. The kids were too young to understand but as for daddy ... hmmm he cannot really see through the illusion. Hahaha...too blur to him :PWhen we were present at the centre, daddy could not figure out the 4 hidden person, but after I took this photo, he could see it clearly. Can y

Greeting By Their NameI have a friend who greets her elder sisters by names since young. As for me, my younger brother and me still greet our big brother as Gor Gor and my younger brother greets me as Jie Jie (all in Hokkien)For my hubby, as he is the oldest, his eldest sis called him "Brother", his 2nd & youngest sis called him "Ge ge" (in Mandarin) or sometimes "Gor Gor" (in hokkien)I have written how confused my son was before (here) and he is still the same.Sometimes he is so cheeky that he greets me "Gu gu" *roll eyes*My niece and my girl age difference is about 4 months apart though they are born in different year and my niece greets my girl by her name. Now, my son started to follow suit and called his own sister by her name !!Sometimes I need to correct him, "You may say Anthiea

Chinese WritingRemember that daddy ran out of ideas to draw for our girl?I asked daddy to buy 2 jotter books and I started to teach my girl how to write Chinese characters. This was her first attempt ! :)Why I said was her first attempt because at present moment, I had not seen any Chinese school work she had done in school.I just want her to gain more interest in learning Chinese and so I decided to teach her some writing. I thought that she will not want to learn, but to my surprise, she loves it especially when learning how to write her surname GAO.The characters on first coloum on the left were written by me, the rest was by her.Hope this will help her in any way.

HaircutIt's a tough task to get boy to the salon for a haircut as previously he kept on crying and refused to stay still. Each time I ask if he wants to cut his hair, he always replies NO !But his hair is getting too long and so the past few days, I tried to instill in his mind that the weather is getting too warm as he keeps pespiring, and I would want to bring him for a haircut and he is not supposed to cry as I will be around. I kept on repeating to him.Today, we decided to bring them to the salon. Saw my mum there too and she bought some biscuits to coax boy.The lady had not even started and boy cried silently...as if someone bullied him. :PHe sat on my lap as he refused to sit on his own and *snip *snip*I kept talking non-stop to him, diverting his attention and at last, after 10 mins

MassageWe always communicate with our children with English and it had been months since we started to balance our spoken langauge. We could see some results as now, my girl will try to speak Mandarin to us whenever she can.You cannot imagine how happy we are when we could hear her speaking a full sentence without using a single English term! :)After a hard's day work, this evening I came home to receive a sweet greeting from her ... in full Mandarin,"Ma ma (usually she greets me as mummy), wo yao an mo"*roll eyes*I got a shock! No, don't get me wrong. It's not a problem if she wanted a massage from me, but just curious why she requested ??After clarifying, I realised she was trying to tell me that she wanted to GIVE me a massage.Hahahaha....Her Chinese teacher told the students that they m

My Little BossEvery morning, I must go to the toilet to do my big business and it can take me awhile because sometimes I close my eyes, trying to recover from the loss of rest/sleep. Hehehe....To be able to have a "smooth business", I must seek permission from my little boss - my sonIf he does not see me around when he wakes up in the morning, he will be very angry and bang on the toilet door loudly. So I always have to wait for my little boss to wake up from his beautiful sleep, make milk for him and ask him, "Can mummy go to the toilet now??"He is satisfied that he sees me when he wakes up and gladly agrees to let me go.My girl used to be like that when she was around this age and I have to go through the same thing for the second time.Hmm...does this happen to all mummies??

My Weekday RoutineFinally, it's end of March ! The month seems so long and looking back, I reflect how I manage my time ...Ever since my replacement resigned only two days when she was into the job, the next day I called up my 2nd choice to ask if she was interested in the position. Till to-date, she has been with me for almost two weeks and I hope she will continue to help me as long as she could (She is 46 yo).So my daily weekday routine is,- every morning I will wake up at 6.15am to get myself prepared, afterwhich I will wake the 3 sleepy heads at 7am. All of us have a quick breakfast together and daddy went off to work at 7.30am and I bring them over to mum's place.- I prepare my girl for school and we leave mum's place at 7.50am, leaving boy behind so that I can do abit of housework.

Phonics WorksheetLast saturday, my girl returned home from phonics and showed me her homework. I almost fainted! There are 4 worksheets of the above .......and 2 sheets of comprehension type.At her age, I think she still does not understand at all and surely needs our help on them. It's too difficult for a 4 year old child but I think the main purpose is to get them learn to write more words bah.She has seen my nephew doing his Primary 1 homework and maybe thought that doing homework was fun as she was very enthusiatic to complete them when we took turns to teach her.We took alot of efforts to teach her on the re-arranging the sentences and took her 2 days to complete everything.

Bloggers By The AlphabetTagged by JennyRule #1Copy all the links below and replace a single link under the appropriate alphabet. If your domain name, or even the title of your blog, starts with an “A,” you’d replace the link under that alphabet and put the replaced link at the bottom. Also, don’t forget to credit the tagger, or where you got the list from, at the end of the list with a full URL of the post so that a pingback gets generated.1. A. acowboyswife.com2. Sick AgainIt started on Wednesday night, girl complained about tummyache and before bedtime, she had diarrhoea. Then after milk feed, boy coughed and suddenly, he vomitted. We worried as HFMD cases are on the rise and we checked thoroughly if there were any signs of uclers. Lucky there was not.In the middle of the night, girl woke up and told us she felt warm .... oh no, she was running a high fever.I decided not to go office yesterday and stayed at home to take care of them. Before bringing them to the clinic, girl had diarrhoea again and told me she felt like vomitting. I placed the potty infront of her and she did, vomit.Brought them to the clinic and GP reminded me to be careful about HFMD. Yes, we are on alert now. The doctor inserted a suppository to stop the vomit. On our journey bac

Zebra CrossingOn Tuesday, hubby had a meeting after work and so I had to bring the children back home myself. It was drizzy and I had only one umbrella. They had their raincoats on and me, carrying their bag and my bag, clumsy trying to bring them back home, praying hard that the rain would not get bigger. We had taught my girl how to cross the road safely, ie checking for cars before crossing any road, but of course under our supervision (holding our hands).Yesterday, both my hands were too occupied with an umbrella on the left, and my son on the right. I had to hold my boy because he would run away if I did not do so. My girl is more obedient and she listens to instructions well better than her brother. While crossing a zebra crossing, halfway through the road, a car appeared and stopped fo

First Night Without His Good FriendBoy has been with his "good friend", aka his tu-tu, ever since he was born few months old, till now.Whenever he is feeling cranky, tired or unwell, he will always seek comfort from his "good friend".Of late, his tu-tu is abit worn off and it may pose a danger to him. So I decided to start the weaning, so that we can also end the search in the dark forever.I cut it off !!I showed it to him and told him that his tu-tu was spoilt. He looked at it unbelieveably...as 5 mins ago, he just sucked it. When he went to toilet to wash his hands, he put it on the table, I took it and cut it. :PHe looked rather calm and told me, "buy new one ok?" and he ran off to play with his sister.I knew ... the most challenging part would be bedtime. He knew that he had no pacifier

Second & Third NightWe are in the midst of weaning off boy's pacifier and usually he can fall asleep within 5 to 10 mins, but now not anymore. The moment he lay on his bed, he asked me, "Mummy, no tu-tu already hor ??"I laughed and replied yes.He stared to toss and turn and within minutes, he could find a lot of excuses of not laying on his bed1. whenever he heard sound of a vehicle, he would be curious and ask me, "what's that?" and said he wanted to see.2. he wanted to sleep with his sister. then next moment, he wanted to sleep with his daddy, then next back to me again.3. he wanted to see the cars parked at the carpark below.4. he claimed he was hot ... next said he was very cold.5. he wanted to see the sky, the stars and the moon.6. he wanted to open the door ... then next he wanted

Psychological Thinking ??We did not go anywhere over the weekends to allow the children to recover well.Boy has almost recovered from his cough. Thank goodness it did not become serious. It's already the 5th day and my girl still complained of occasion tummy pain. I observe when she is not doing anything, she will think of it, and so have to keep her occupied. Maybe she has been cooped at home for too long as she also skipped her phonics lesson on saturday. Hmm .... psychological thinking ??For the time being, we better keep their diet light.
