I Swear It's Buttons Baby
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I've been becoming a DJ lately... Pretty soon, besides my VJing, you'll be able to also listen to my DJing. Been making some mash-ups, some are quite good, while some are real shit. LOL. Now I made this one right here, before I started to really work on my mashes. I was really just playing with my computer, and this happened! When I listen to it for the first time, I kinda liked how Beyoncé's singing kinda connected with the Pussycat Dolls' beat. And after that, it stayed a bit forgotten on my pc, but then again, I decided that I had nothing more to do than to make it a video. And so I did. Based purely on Beyoncé's Déjà Vu video, we can also spot some Pussycat Dolls' appearances. I guess, this is my official mash-up, though it's nothing special... New things will come soon, so keep checking this out... Enjoy, and gimme some feedback ;)Beyoncé vs. The Pussycat Dolls - Loosen Up My Déjà Vu (Ft. Jay-Z)

Best & Worst
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Now that 2006 is officially over, it's time to go back and see what was the good and the bad of the year in music. It's just my opinion, nothing more, but still I'd like to emphasize this... 2006 saw the release of great albums, like Nelly Furtado's explosive Loose, Beyoncé's holiday-work B'Day, Christina Aguilera's reminiscent Back To Basics or Ciara's breakthrough Ciara : The Evoltion, just to name a few. Even Paris Hilton had a surprising rather good album! Altough, to me, one album stands better than the others. Justin Timberlake's amazing FutureSex/LoveSounds takes you on a trip through beats and lyrics and you just can't stop playing it or singing to it. From the first track until the very last, you just can't stop it. Even the ballads (which I usually don't like) get under your skin! Here's a preview of the album...British girl band All Saints made a comeback this year with their new album Studio 1 and first single Rock Steady. The single reached number 3 on britis

Hey there! Today I'll post about another mash-up. This time though, not mine. It's Till West & DJ Delicious vs. Cassie & Jay-Z. Dance hit Same Man gets mashed with Cassie's Me & U, and Jay-Z's verses from Beyoncé's Déjà Vu. And who's the brain behind all this? DJ Nicky T. This guy has been mashing some great things, combining either Dance tracks with Hip Hop and R'n'B or Rock with Pop. You can find the available for download track on his own page. There, you'll find Hip Hop & R'n'B / Commercial Remixes, Disco / Funk Remixes,House / Electro Remixes or Rock Remixes. I seriously recommend him cuz what he does is just great ;) For now, enjoy his own remix of Till West vs. Cassie & Jay-Z.MP3 DownloadDownload This Video!

Qué Dices?
1970-01-01 00:59:59
And finally Jennifer Lopez' new spanish video just leaked to the internet. I gave you a preview of the song and it's remix some time ago, and I coudn't possibly let the video escape. The video is quite good, a bit similiar to her Love Don't Cost a Thing video though... If you remember this one back in 2000, she says goodbye to her boyfriend and all that represents him, leaving behind her huge mansion, her mobile-phone, her jewelry, her car, her clothes, til we finally see her naked in the sea. Well, in Qué Hiciste she doesnt get naked, but it's really similiar. First we see her riding her car, then she dies her hair darker, a bit further she blowes her car up (so, no evidence remains) and finally we see her walking in the middle of the desert. Mind you, I'm not sayin' it's bad or unoriginal... It's actually pleasant to see ;) Enjoy!Jennifer Lopez - Qué HicisteMP3 Download

The Platinum Chart [Week 292]
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Hello there! Today I felt like giving you one of my new year presents. Please welcome the first ever online issue of The Platinum Chart . And what is such thing? The Platinum Chart is my personal music singles chart that reflects the European music singles sales, the European airplay and my personal preferences on the music world. So, every song that charts on The Platinum Chart has to be out for sales on Europe (only Europe not the US), has to have a minimal rotation on music channels, and has to be liked...by me! LoL. I've been doing this for almost 6 years now (first issue was June 8th 2001) and I decided that, now that I have a blog, and that we're starting 2007, I should post it online. Every Saturday you can count on a new issue of The Platinum Chart. This makes today's issue the 292nd. On this week's issue, Nelly Furtado takes over; Evanescence, U2 & Green Day and the Scissor Sisters couldn't handle the new year, and we're joined by new efforts by Eric Prydz and, yet again,

And we've just reached 2007. I really hope this year will be better for you than 2006 was, even if 2006 was your best year. Just came by (so late) to give you some tunes to welcome the New Year. Here's a playlist of dance videos so you can keep partying throughout the days (hint : shuffle the videos while you watch it, if you don't, then you'll be able to watch 4 videos only [YouTube policy])And a New Year classic. Da1000's European Tour : United Kingdom
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Hey hey! It's day 14 and the last of our European Tour. We've finally reached the last country just in time for the last day of the year. As you know, the United Kingdom is, perhaps, the biggest music exporter in Europe. There's tons of british acts like The Beatles, the Spice Girls or Robbie Williams. Today's artist also were part of a band. The S Club 7 exploded into the music scene back in 1999 when they released music from their own TV series. The group soon became a huge favourite in the UK, only to break-up in 2003, after band member Paul left earlier to join an nu-metal band. After the disbandment, Rachel Stevens (formely known as the dumb girl on S Club) started a solo career with the huge hit Sweet Dreams My LA Ex. This song was originally written for Britney Spears as a response to Justin Timberlake's Cry Me a River, altough Britney didn't wanted to record it. Rachel Stevens' albums scored moderate hits, with the biggest of them being Richard X's production Some Girls

Da1000's European Tour : Netherlands
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Hey hey! It's day 10 of my European Tour, and today is time to visit The Netherlands . Dutch acts are also quite international, like rebel girl Anouk, pop chanteuse Do (which was featured on DJ Sammy's hit single Heaven), fantasy group Ch!pz, professional DJ Armin Van Buuren, gothic rockers Within Temptation or early 90's electronic sensation 2 Unlimited. For the tour though, I took the liberty to choose not one, but two artists. But don't worry, just one song. Kane has alwayas been a quite huge band on The Netherlands, but it was only with their 2002 hit Rain Down On Me that they broke through Europe, altough releasing it internationaly only in 2004 with DJ Tiësto's remix. The song became a hit all over the continent, either radio friendly Kane-only version, or club anthem with Tiësto. That's actually today's song. Of course the original is really good, but Tiësto (being one of today's best DJs) took it to a whole new level. Enjoy, and meet me again tomorrow on, perhaps, you

Da1000's European Tour : Belgium
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Hello there! It's day 11 of my tour, and I've just left The Netherlands and arrived in Belgium . Belgium is as nice as The Netherlands, altough a bit more frenchy... Nevertheless there's also some belgian acts on the international music scene. Back in 2000 Belle Perez had an european hit with her debut single Hello World, Lara Fabian also had hit singles and albums over europe, and then there's the belgian DJs like Danzel, Lasgo, Dave McCullen (who is actually part of Lasgo, but had a solo hit with the anthem Bitch) or even Junior Jack! Today's artist also was very popular on the european clubs back in 2003 with the hit single Desenchantée, which is actually a cover of french singer Mylène Farmer. That's the main reason you may recognize Kate Ryan, altough she also was a contestant for Belgium on the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest with her now europop flavoured style. Je t'Adore failed to win anything altough she was one of the big favourites to win the competition. Details apart

Da1000's European Tour : France
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Hey again! Day 12 of my european tour, and today I've just reached France . Of course, being one of the biggest countries in Europe, France also takes part in the european music scene. Taking the french language globally are, among others, world famous Édith Piaf, teen-dance singer Alizée, Johnny Depp-owned Vanessa Paradis, cartoon dance hit Ilona Mitrecey (who is actually a 13 year-old girl), or french DJs like Bob Sinclar, Cassius, Daft Punk, Modjo or David Guetta. I like to define today's artist as a mix of all the above. She has a pop/rock electronic sound that instantly gets stuck into your mind. Altough her great sound, Maroccan descendent Najoua Belyzel didn't made an huge impact with her debut solo single Gabriel on foregein lands like, for instance, Alizée did with the anthem Moi...Lolita. And the formula is almost the same. Alizée took fictional carachater Lolita, Najoua takes an angel, Gabriel, that is... Nevertheless, is still a 5 stars song, along with a nice video.

Da1000's European Tour : Ireland
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Hello! It's day 13 of my tour and we're almost in the end of this fantastic trip. Today, I left France and just arrived to the magnificent Ireland . And of course, there's plenty of Irish bands and singers out there like celtic pop rockers The Corrs, boybands Westlife and Boyzone, now solo star Ronan Keating, rock bands Snow Patrol and U2, or even Bob Geldof. Today's artist rose to fame back in early 2000 with her debut hit single Gotta Tell You. She even scored number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. After all 6 releases from her first album scored well on the charts, she released the first single from her follow-up album Woman. The track, I'm Right Here, failed to sell well and consequently the release of her second album was cancelled. After a long break from music, and after acting and modeling jobs, Samantha Mumba is back on the studios for a third album due to release next March with a previous first single in February. Meanwhile, you can see her here with her second single Body I

Start Me Up
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Start Me Up is the promo single and the first track from my upcoming mash-up album Future Sound Booster. Yes, yours truly is becoming an experimental mash-up DJ. Now, besides my VJing, you'll also be able to react to my DJing. This song is kinda a mash-up megamix. I took some instrumental and acapella songs and used it's beginning (that's why it is called Start Me Up), mashing the acapella begining of one song with the other's instrumental beginning. The songs I've used in this mash-up megamix are as follows:Acapella :. Madonna - "Music". Justin Timberlake Ft. T.I. - "My Love". Alicia Keys - "How Come You Don't Call Me" (Neptunes Remix). Christina Aguilera, Lil'Kim, Mya & Pink - "Lady Marmalade". Kanye West Ft. Jamie Foxx - "Gold Digger". Marie Serneholt - "That's The Way My Heart Goes". Gwen Stefani - "Wind It Up". Janet Jackson - "All For You". Janet Jackson Ft. Carly Simon - "Son Of a Gun". Janet Jackson - "All Nite (Don't Stop)". Danity Kane - "Show Stopper". Beyoncé Ft.

Start Me Up, the Second
1970-01-01 00:59:59
And I finally finished my second version for the Start Me Up video. As you can see below, the first version featured only the singles' covers and the songs' lyrics (hence, not very original...). This new version features the videos of every single song I samples to do this megamix. I really like it, and it really got me busy... This was the hardest video I made I guess... Anyway, it's ready and it's time for I to premiere it! Enjoy!Da1000 - Start Me Up (Second Version)

What You Wanna Do
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Today, as last Friday, I'm posting about a great unfamous track. Obviously everybody knows Jamelia nowadays, much thanks to her smash hit Superstar (or more recently the controversy over the Depeche Mode sample on her Beware Of The Dog track). What most people don't know is that Superstar was actually the second single from her Thank You album. Bout features american female rapper Rah Digga, and it's a very cool song to get loose with. Two videos were shot for this song, the first one never being released due to the fact that Jamelia was unhappy with the finished product, and a second one not featuring Rah Digga although her rapping is still on the song. The song managed to spend two weeks on the UK Singles Chart peaking at number 37, being released in February 2003. It's a great track and I highly recommend it. Unfortunatly I couldn't find an MP3 of it, so this one goes without a download link. But you know, support the artist, buy her music! ;) Enjoy!Jamelia Ft. Rah Digga - Bout

I See You Baby
1970-01-01 00:59:59
It's been a while since I last posted a Da1000 Productions video (apart from the Start Me Up videos), and I've decided to post this one. I made it and uploaded it to YouTube on October, but never got to post it on the blog. And so it's time. I first heard this mash-up when I was looking for bootlegs and got to Smash's website. From the tracks I've downloaded from there, this one proved to be a favourite and when I started to make some videos, I decided that it deserved a good video. And so I did. Featuring Beyoncé's Crazy In Love video only, the mash-up contains a sample of Saliva's Click Click BOOM!, the instrumental of Groove Armada's classic I See You Baby, and obviously Beyoncé's singing skills, as well as Jay-Z rapping. A great tune, and a good video ;) Enjoy!Beyoncé vs. Groove Armada vs. SalivaCrazy Baby Boom!MP3 Download

The Platinum Chart [Week 294]
1970-01-01 00:59:59
This week on The Platinum Chart , Eminem is back on the charts joined by 50 Cent, and also Akon wants to love us alongside Snoop Dogg. Also, the Scissor Sisters keep sliding positions, Madonna jumps out of the top 15, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are knocked off the Top 10, Eric Prydz keeps on educating the chart now on the top 10 and Robbie Williams brings a very special light within the top 5. Meanwhile, on the Bubbling Under Chart, Cascada and JoJo take over. I Want To Tell You a Secret
1970-01-01 00:59:59
One month after a clip of Robbie Williams in drag leaked and got everybody sayin' "WTF?!", Mr. Williams' new video She's Madonna leaks as well... In the video he is actually a drag, portraying a performer and advising himself to drop Millenium of his repertoire and praising him to be a good lad. This is probably by far the most outrageous Robbie video, even after Come Undone... Nevertheless, it's a quite good video on which Robbie plays with the controversies around his sexuality. I personally like when, after undressing the drag suit, he performs to a crowd of drag queens and they just boo at him... The song itself is also pretty good, even after the gorgeous Lovelight. Robbie keeps on praising Madonna (obviously), and you find lots of references to the queen of pop : You're frozen now, But she's got her groove on, I want to tell you a secret, and references to Madonna's friends (With Kate and Stella / Gwyneth's here) and even Chris Martin! Kelis has recently released her second video from Kelis Was Here on Europe. American second single Blindfold Me (which didn't become a single after all, no release due to unknown reasons) was scratched from European release after failing on the U.S.. Instead, Kelis' European label, Virgin decided to release her collaboration with Gnarls Barkley's half Cee-Lo Lil' Star as a second single. Possibily due to Cee-Lo's recent popularity... I like Blindfold Me better than Lil' Star, but unfortunatly it's one of those underrated great club tracks (like Janet's So Excited). Nonetheless, Lil' Star is a good song, and hopefully it will increase Kelis' popularity and sell more than first single Bossy, booting the sales of her quite good fourth album. The video is very imaginative and original (like any other Kelis' video... except Bossy maybe...), and we get a free ride through the universe... Though great, not her greatest video for me... Trick Me was far better, very simple but very

When It All Comes Down

Following the last two new video premieres, ex-Baby Spice Girl Emma Bunton also released a follow up to her previous Downtown. All I Need To Know is a pop ballad from her third solo album Life In Mono and Emma's first pure ballad, following ex-Spices Geri Halliwell (Calling - flopped), Victoria Beckham (A Mind Of It's Own - did Ok on the charts), Melanie B. (Lullabye - another flop), and Melanie C. (First Day Of My Life - huge hit across Europe). Now we just have to wait and see what will happen to Miss Bunton's own ballad on the charts. Personally, I think it's a quite good track (yes, even better than Melanie C's thing), and I hope she'll do as fine, or even better, than her Maybe single. The video is quite good so it only helps her : beautiful shots of Emma, often portrayed as an angel. A must see video in my opinion. And the brand new Sophie Ellis-Bextor video for her brand new first single of her new album just premiered on her website. Dance-Pop first lady returns to the charts with a very catchy tune, now with a rock flavour. I say it's Sophie's return to a sophisticated sound, after her poppiest album Shoot From The Hip. In the video for Catch You there's a lot of Madonna resemblances I say. Besides this video was shot in Venice, the same city Madonna's Like a Virgin was, Sophie dresses herself in the likes of Madge in La Isla Bonita (when she's in the gondola with the fancy dress, her hairstyle is also similiar) and Material Girl (when she's running in the streets with the red gown). Nevertheless, it's a quite good video and of course a really nice song, which I hope puts Miss Ellis-Bextor back on the map. Enjoy!Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Catch YouMP3 DownloadLyricsBuy Her Music

Wouldn't That Be Sweet ?
1970-01-01 00:59:59
And Gwen Stefani's new video for her follow-up to Wind It Up has just leaked. The Sweet Escape features Akon, and marks Gwen's return to innovative, fresh and original videos following What You Waiting For? and Rich Girl (and somehow Hollaback Girl and Cool too). The video is all about escaping, as Gwen's locked up in prision (along with her Harajuku girls) and dreams about escaping. Within her dream we see her escaping police with Akon, and escaping her... err... long hair, in the likes of Rapunzel... All of this with a lot of golden Gs in the background, Gwen's newest trademark (besides the golden key of course). Nonetheless, it's a great video and a great tune. You get really positive with it. :D Enjoy!Gwen Stefani Ft. Akon - The Sweet EscapeMP3 Download

Walking Out The Door
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Today I'm posting not on new music, but on old music. Because it's also important that we remember good stuff from the past. Now this song right here was released back in 2003, when Madonna was singin' about American life and Beyoncé was crazy in love with her baby boy... Actress Taryn Manning joined with her brother Kellin to form the Alternative Pop band Boomkat. They had their first (and only so far) hit with The Wreckoning. The song is about a relationship gone bad from the girl's point of view (Taryn repeatadly sings You don't give a shit about me throughout the song. Due to Parental Advisory issues, in the video and radio version of the song, shit is replaced by damn.). The video is set on a dumpster (right?) and features Taryn (more than her brother) on several dress changes. I totally love the song, and it gives me a I-Can-Punch-Them-All-Feeling. And I also felt really lucky when I purchased the CD Single. Not only because it's one of the best CD Singles out there (the e

The Platinum Chart [Week 293]

It's time for a new issue of The Platinum Chart ! A new week has just passed and it's time to chart the music... On this week's issue we're joined by new efforts of Disney's teen star Vanessa Hudgens and Evanescence, the saints keep sliding positions, Eric Prydz climb up properly educated by Pink Floyd, Scissor Sisters' Land of a Thousand Words loses the Top 10 and Take That get patient on the top 5. And I've also decided that the Bubbling Under Chart (the chart where songs that are knocked out of The Platinum Chart struggle to get back to the latter), should be a top 10 instead of a top 5... My Coolness Is Blown

And All Saints' new video just premiered on their myspace page! The follow up to the infamous Rock Steady track is now available everywhere to see, and I just felt like giving it a post. Chick Fit is a cool song with some strong vibes, about this girl who is completely obsessed with a guy. The video was filmed on studio and it's basically the girls performing the song with a few dudes playin' some instruments, while the girls keep dancing totally crazy. After rumours that their label had dropped them because of poor sales of their album proved to be false, as said by the label itself, the Saints manage to release a second single which is expected to save poor sales of Studio 1. On the forum page on their website, a poll has been running to choose a third single for the album which the On and On track won with 38% of the voting. After they spawned a worldwide spanish hit back in 2005 with La Tortura, Alejandro Sanz teams up again with Shakira for this early 2007 spanish ballad Te Lo Agradezco Pero No. Altough they're chemistry seems to work worldwide (one of the reasons why La Tortura was that massive hit), I don't feel they're able to match the success of they're previous collaboration. Nontheless, this is set to be a huge hit across latin countries, and I totally expect it to be one of the songs to be nominated to the Latin Grammys. And I'm not even sure if they'll release it outside the latin market... The video is simple, Alejandro performs and Shakira comes out looking like she just left the set of her Illegal video... And of course they sing and dance together (again with the chemistry goin' on)... Now, I'm not much of a latin songs lover, but this one turns out to be quite good... But hey, Alejandro have always done quite good songs anyway... Check out his 1999 Corazón Partio (on YouTube) and d

When I first heard this song I must confess I didn't quite liked it. Just like Christina Aguilera's Hurt I found it a bit too dramatic. And then I've downloaded it and started to listen to it a bit more, and it turns out that Listen, among with Hurt, is a powerful, catchy ballad. Apart from Beyoncé's fantastic vocal skills, the song comes with an out of rate instrumental and strong lyrics. Now, I'm not the only one to like it, after all, the song has been nominated for various awards like the International Press Academy Satellite Award, the Black Reel Awards, the Satellite Awards or most importantly the Golden Globe Awards and recently the Academy Awards, all in the Best Original Song - Motion Picture category for the Dreamgirls motion picture. To date it has won the Best Song, Original or Adapted- Motion Picture at the Black Reel Awards. It's a serious candidate for the Oscar, although it lost in the Golden Globes to Prince's Song of the Heart from the Happy Feet movie. There

Recently reunited british pop boyband just released yesterday they new video for their second single from the Beautiful World album. Shine is a pure pop song, which you can dance to, and it sounds a bit like a fusion between Scissor Sisters, Kylie Minogue and Take That's previous work. Lead vocals are by Mark Owen, which gives the song a new direction, you don't feel like you're listening to Take That, mainly because we were used to Gary Barlow singin' all the leads... The video seems to be inspired by Kylie's videos. It's just a performance video, there's stairs, pianos, and cheerful female dancers. Not their best video (far better than previous Do What You Like for sure though), but still, it's a catchy tune... Enjoy!Take That - ShineMP3 DownloadBuy AlbumiTunesLyrics

First ex-Sugababe Siobhán Donaghy recently released her new video from her second album. Don't Give It Up follows now an even more different direction than her previous Overrated single did. Soon, saying Sugababes and Siobhán Donaghy in the same sentence will sound really awkard. While the super pop british band raised themselves to an European phenomenon with new member Heidi Range replacing Donaghy, Siobhán got adventurous and released her debut solo album. Revolution In Me reached number 117 on the british album charts and first single Overrated 19 on the singles charts. Second single Twist of Fate also failed to succeed, as it peaked number 52 only. This led Siobhán to be dropped by London Records, and signing up to Parlophone in 2005. Now, after the Sugababes lost yet another member (Mutya Buena, who claimed to be tired of pop life and missing her daughter, will release her solo debut soon this year), Donaghy manages to release a second album. It's time for another song from the past, the year is still 2003, and this one came right after Beyoncé's Crazy In Love. Mya's first world fame experience was her collaboration with Pras and Ol' Dirty Bastard on the soundtrack for the Bulworth movie, Ghetto Superstar (That's What You Are). Then, her second album also went global with singles Case Of The Ex and Free, but it was only with the Lady Marmalade hit that people really started to notice her. Since then, she scored some points on the big screen (acting in Chicago, Dirty Dancing : Havana Nights and Shall We Dance?)and managed to release a third album. Moodring didn't do so well as the previous, but Missy Elliott-produced first single My Love Is Like...Wo still got her to the spotlight once again. Although VH1 credited the song as one of the worse sex songs ever, it peaked at number-thirteen on the U.S. Billboard Top 100 chart, and even number 1 on the World Jazz Top 20.
