Spotlight on Josh Williams - 1year and 1 million dollars
2007-10-18 05:22:00
Josh Williams is trying to make one million dollars in 1yr time using what he learned from the Secret. Here's an interview I did with him: What gave you the courage to quit your job? Was it just reading the One Minute Millionaire, or did something else inspire you? How did you meet up with your mentor? What are your plans when you reach your goal? Where do you see yourself in 5years? Hi

Reader's Question.
2007-10-16 06:12:00
Here is a great question I received from a reader yesterday followed by my answer. Any other suggestions you would offer. Hit the talkback button and speak your mind. Sir, I've never been without... meaning I could always do what I wanted to do, eat where I wanted to eat and go wherever I wanted to go, however, as long as I can remember, I've never had a savings account with more than 1k. I

Two of the smartest things I did this year and one stupid thing...
2008-04-11 21:06:00
I did two smart things so far this year. I finally started a Roth IRA for a my wife and myself. I went with Fidelity, because of the relatively low start up fee and my 401K is with them (even though in hindsight Vanguard is the place to be). I dumped a lump sum of $2,500 into FLATX (which is emerging market Latin America/Brazil) for my wife and FSEAX (China) for myself. This could of had a lot

Where we've come from and where we'd like to go
2008-05-09 19:44:00
I started this financial blog a few years ago using it as a tool to track my financial progress with the hopes of increasing my financial knowledge and improving my bottom line. I've learned a lot in these few short years and hope to share all the useful information with readers to increase your financial knowledge and your bottom line. One thing I've found to be very useful and motivation is

Making Hay While the Sun Shines by Sarah Scrafford

Making Hay While the Sun Shines A friend and I were recently discussing an actor who’s been doing the rounds in practically every single happening event in recent times. On his home turf, he’s making movies, hosting television shows, starting film production companies and appearing in product endorsement events and commercials. Besides this, he’s investing in game franchises and

Would Jesus be a Capitalist or Socialist?
2008-05-27 10:16:00
It is my belief that Jesus living in the 21st century would be a capitalist rather than a socialist. I think he would approve of Roy Kroc and Sam Walton for starting businesses' which have improved the lives of a great number of people by providing work, service, and quality. He would support anyone who's main goal is to create a company, product or service which helps people. This must be the

I'm in over my head.
2008-06-03 20:09:00
About a week ago I jumped into a stock called MEDX after seeing it on CNBC's Fast Money. It had recently gained about 7% on news of a new anti cancer drug. I acted on emotion and greed. Don't make the same mistake. Not only did I deviate from my disciplined monthly investing of a small sum in a diversified index fund, but I payed a whopping $10 commission to make a real time trade using

Adventures in Stock Picking
2008-09-18 07:42:00
My stock market experience update: a few months ago I sold my shares of MEDX for a $9 profit, which includes all brokerage fees. I also jumped into two other stocks a small cap SDTH, which I think has some real potential, they have a good balance sheet, and a cheap dollar stock call XCR. XCR I bought into the hype and will probably lose some money. It's a company that makes equipment for

The sky is falling! What should you do with your 401K
2008-09-30 19:24:00
The stock market is choking on millions of dollars in bad debt. Paulsen wants to infuse a $7 Billion dollar bailout, but the Bill was killed in the Senate due to partisan politics. The return on my 401K investment this year is a dismal -29.6%. A lot of people are panicking. The question is what to do. If you are not close to retirement age then you can actually benefit from this market
