Microsoft has moved some of the development of Windows 7 to Microsoft India 2007-10-16 13:32:03 Recent reports have surfaced stating that Microsoft
has moved at least some of the development of Windows
7 to its Microsoft India
location.
Currently, most details available about Windows 7 stem from speculation. What we know right now is that the system will have multiple SKUs, be available in both 32-bit and 64-bit, feature subscription-based content, and (hopefully) be released around 2010. Other possible features include enhanced virtualization capabilities and more advanced network diagnostic tools.
According to Moneycontrol India, the plan to move some of Windows 7’s development offshore was announced by Jon DeVaan, the Senior Vice President of the Windows Core Operating System Division. The team from India is a mix of Windows and Windows Live developers, and it will be led by Sunil Bansali.

Is Windows 7 Going to be Anything Like Windows Vista? 2007-08-02 01:51:31 Microsoft Windows
7 is the latest internal name and a rebrand of Windows vienna which is the successor of Vista
.htm">Windows Vista
. Microsoft promised the software would be ready in three years time and the same delay that took Windows Vista five years to launch would no longer happen in Windows 7. Microsoft said they have made the necessary organizational changes to ensure the software is delivered in three years.
I am not sure whether reorganization would help deliver the operating system in time especially when the product is customized and tweaked to closely meet the changing demands of the IT landscape. In a feature intensive product like Windows, the need to incorporate technology demands and changes is necessary and sometimes the boundary to when the team should stop changing the requirements depends a lot on gut feel and vision. Windows 7 and Window Mobile 7: iPhone Influence 2007-08-02 01:47:57 A good friend to me Rob Enderle wrote a fantastic article which totally hits the nail on the head and is exactly what I have been saying for quite a while!
Rob Enderle:
With the exceptions of Surface and the Xbox, Microsoft has generally sucked with user interfaces. It provides a lot of potential value in its products but if people don’t get access to or use that value, it is effectively worthless. While Vista isn’t doing that poorly considering the bad press that has surrounded it, it clearly didn’t excite the market as Window

95 initially did or the iPhone
does.
With every OEM looking at the iPhone and now capable of articulating what they want, Microsoft is getting a message it can’t ignore: It has to fix the user interface for Windows and the rest of its desktop products dramatically. It also now knows if it doesn’t do this, it won’t move Windows 7 and, like every company, Microsoft wants sales volume. Finally, Windows is a keystone product, which means if new versio Read more:Mobile
