Twelve Year Car Loan
2008-05-21 05:15:00
I just started checking the Chase Auto Finance website to make sure they received the payoff for my car loan. I just mailed the payment on Sunday so I'm sure it probably hasn't made it to them yet. I should have sent it via overnight mail but I didn't think it was worth it to pay the extra fee. The payoff amount given was good thru June 2, 2008 so I was pretty sure the payment would make it to the

My Aunt made me a beautiful basket for my birthday. She does this all the time as a hobby and doesn't make any money from it. She bought the basket and all the basic supplies and put the basket together. She even made the soap by hand. Here is what it looks like.If you are interested in getting her to make a gift basket for you, please let me know. She can make pretty much whatever you want. Drop

Teaching A Teen To Save Money
2008-06-02 05:08:00
Image Credit: Rafa1980For those of you that have teenage children, I feel for you. It seems like they always need money for something and it's a life or death situation if they don't get it. Most teens have no clue about money and just want to spend, spend, spend. It's like money grows on trees and does not require work to get it. I don't have kids but I do have a teenage sister. Every time she i

"Friendly" Call From My Mortgage Company
2008-06-13 05:50:00
I received an unusual call from my mortgage company yesterday. They wanted to give me a "friendly reminder" that I had not made my mortgage payment for this month. I've had my mortgage with this company for a little over two years. I've never been "late" on a payment but I do take advantage of the two week grace period every month. Instead of paying on the 1st of the month, I usually wait and sche

Sign of the Financial Times?
2008-06-14 11:59:00
I am looking for a table for my entryway but I don't want to pay store prices for it. I figure the best way to get a nice table for a cheap price is to go to a garage sale. I'd seen numerous signs around my area advertising garage sales today and figured this may be a good way to get a cheap table. I got up early this morning armed with $50 and a cup of coffee. I went to one of the nicer subdivisi

Resisting the Urge to Splurge (Financially)

I've heard of funny "holidays" but this takes the cake. I for one do not plan to celebrate this holiday. This past weekend though, I had an overwhelming urge to spend money. Incentive to Use My Chase Card
2008-07-01 06:00:00
Looks like I am going to be digging my Chase Card out of the depths of my sock drawer. I received a mailer today for an offer I can't refuse. Usually, I get balance transfer checks from them that all end up in the same place...the shredder. The interest rates vary from 4.99% until the balance is paid in full or 0.99% for a limited number of months. I probably would take advantage of the balance tr
