In Memory of My Cousin, Lizzy
2007-12-12 07:29:00
My cousin, Lizzy, passed away recently. She lived at the windmill in Holland with my cousin Monte, whom I have recently introduced on my blog. Lizzy had a long life of about 15 years.Lizzy was a wild cat when my mom's cousins found her protecting one of her baby kittens in a shed on their property. Lizzy decided the windmill was a great place to make her home, so she adopted my mom's cousins! Her baby kitten was adopted by another good family.Lizzy had some favorite things that she liked to do......if there was ever an empty box laying around, she would be sleeping in it. She loved the outdoors, and LOVED to hunt for mice! I don't even know what a mouse is.....but I think I would like to hunt for them too, since I am very curious!Lizzy and Monte were good friends, and sometimes they even slept side by side together. This would last only as long as Monte was not too loud, but then Lizzy would get tired of his antics, and hit him with her paw! This second picture was one of her best

Pink Kissing Gourami Fish
2007-12-10 10:46:00
These are my fishies. They are pink kissing gouramis, and they have gotten big, and are almost 5 inches long! I think this type of fish originally came from Thailand and Indonesia. They are the only fish we have, because the others died over the years. These two fish have lived with us for at least 5 years! Sometimes they fight and chase each other around the fish tank. One day they fought so hard that they poked each other's eyes out! Each only has one eye now!See! No eyeball!Fish are ok, but I prefer fluffy, snugly animals! I really only like fish for eating, like Fancy Feast fishy......it's my favorite!

Horses at the Mall?
2007-12-24 11:16:00
Mom went to the mall one last time today. She saw horses there, and they were working again. Why do so many horses have to work, and even on Christmas Eve? I could teach them how to play more than work, because I am an expert at that....I know exactly how to get more playtime from my mom! These horses work for the police department and were helping the police patrol the shopping mall to make sure everyone stayed safe. I sure hope that these horses at least get Christmas Day off!I just want to say Merry Christmas to all my new blogging friends and Happy New Year! Thanks for all your visits to my Big World and I hope to see you again soon!

Flamingo Friends for Friday!
2007-12-21 08:07:00
Here is another animal that mom saw at the Ft. Worth Zoo. Flamingo s! There were a few different types at the zoo, and this orange/pink one is an American flamingo. This kind is the tallest flamingo found in the Americas. The Chilean flamingo is another kind of flamingo which can be identified by it's lighter coloring. I heard they come from Chile and other South American countries. I like flamingos! They are birdies, which I love, and they are also very beautiful. I think I would like to snuggle in their feathers!

Gargoyle Alert, Gargoyle Alert!
2007-12-20 06:42:00
Daddy Len came home from a bike ride yesterday and told me he saw a scary gargoyle. I had no idea what a gargoyle was. I thought it was going to be really exciting to see the picture he took.Well, it wasn't! Daddy Len played another joke on me! I think he was getting back at me for calling him bald in my last post! Gargoyles are not real, and Daddy Len knows I only like REAL animals! The Gothic gargoyle was usually a grotesque bird or animal sitting on the back of a building's gutter or cornice and used for projecting water or rain away from buildings. This gargoyle was just sitting at the entrance to someone's house, on Daddy Len's bike ride route. Not too exciting, huh? Stay tuned for a REALLY fun animal tomorrow. Clue: What likes to stand on one skinny leg, is pink and has snuggly feathers?
