Law of Attraction
2007-12-04 00:53:06
The Law of Attraction basically states that anything you think of, you attract - whether it be negative or positive. I believe that this is true, but am finding it difficult to really put my all into it and dedicate myself to believing this. I’m having too many doubts in the back of my mind. From now on I will make a list of positive thoughts every once in a while and post them on the blog. Even if this doesn’t get me that million bucks I’ve been counting on from the universe, at least it’ll make my day a bit brighter.

Select Appointments Interview
2007-12-04 00:49:20
I had an interview at Select Appointments (a recruitment company) in the city today and it went much better than I thought it would. They had me sit a few tests - on Word, Exel, typing, and data entry, and I got above average results on all 4. Typing and Word were the best ones by far, with 105 words per minute and 19 out of 20 correct answers for Word. Anyway, I hope to start getting temp jobs soon - I decided to go temp for now, to kind of suss out the waters of receptionist-ism. Oh and by the way, I am loving my new phone. It’s just too cool.

A Post About Attraction
2007-12-03 06:29:28
FreeVerse of Penetrating Life has recently wrote a very nice blog post about the qualities that attract him to a woman. I was extremely pleased (and surprised) to find that looks was not on the list. Of course, looks are important, that’s a given. But it’s nice to see a post once in a while that focuses on deeper things - things that don’t fade with age. Be sure to read his post here.

Sony Ericsson S500i - eye candy
2007-12-03 03:38:33
I couldn’t resist. I tried, but I couldn’t. I saw a Sony Ericsson S500i in Video Ezy with HHRay and had to have it. Its greenness was calling to me. So we went back to HHRay’s house and I started researching. After reading a lot of negative reviews about the keypad online, I was devastated. The keys on the green phones cracked - badly. Then it turned out it was because of a chemical reaction brought on by the paint and that SE has replaced the faulty phones with new ones that were fine. I decided to go for it. The phone is absolutely gorgeous, but I can’t help but treat it like a fragile little thing - mostly because it is. It’s a slide phone and I don’t trust its durability in the least. It’s not nearly as stable feeling as the Nokia 6300 I had previously (which will now go to HHRay). I feel a bit shallow, buying the phone for its looks. But not to worry, I also researched the specs - it has a 2 megapixel camera, just like the Nokia 6300. And

Dreams
2007-12-01 21:06:06
Meditation is a great way to relax and take your mind off of everyday problems. But dreams, yes, those are definitely the best. I had such a great dream last night and I can’t remember any of it. Dreams are like adventures that we often couldn’t ever come up with when we are awake. Sometimes I wish I could stay in my dreams forever and never have to wake up. I have a few old dream journals sitting around somewhere, with all of my dreams meticulously recorded. Lately I’ve gotten slack, though, and haven’t been writing down my dreams. I’ll try to record them as soon as I wake up from now on.

Life is Easy vs Life is Hard
2007-12-01 19:13:45
I think there are two outlooks on life - the viewpoint that everything in life has to be worked for and the viewpoint that life is easier than everyone wants us to think. While those who follow the first viewpoint may get further in life, I believe that many people would be much happier just sitting back and not stressing out about where you’ll be in ten years. But really, we need to find a balance. If we really want something with all our hearts, we should probably be willing to fight and work for it. Anyone who’s on the extreme of the ‘life is easy’ view just tends to be lazy and hope that it will come to them (such as me). This isn’t a very productive outlook to have. Balance is key.

Photo Shoot #2
2007-12-01 07:52:49
I had a photo shoot with David today with makeup done by the beautiful Rani. Both of them are completely amazing and I absolutely loved the day. The makeup was crazy and abstract. The other model they were shooting at the same time was gorgeous, too. Both of her looks focused on a peaceful, light, pretty beauty and mine were the contrast - an intense, dark, wild type thing. I can’t wait to see the picked shots. I realize choosing and editing and all of this will take some time, but I’m more than willing to wait. Both the photographer and makeup artist had such great, creative ideas. It was totally amazing. At the end I found myself on the floor with glitter being poured all over my face for a quick third glittery look It was funny and glitter got into pretty much every orifice of my body. A good day.

Focusing on the Positives
2007-12-11 07:29:20
I have to learn to focus on positive things that happened each day instead of the negative ones. I’m a very analytical person - and I always end up analyzing things that only bring more doubts to mind. This has been a problem for me for quite a while. After all, if the day ended well and if there wasn’t really anything bad about it, why analyze negatives that feel like they’re there without much real evidence? Worrying isn’t fun, I should know. I think I’ll go do some exercise, it’s bound to make me feel better. I’ll also do some reading on how to spice up one’s life. So here are some positive things that come to mind: - It rained. I love rain - Ergo sat on a perch outside of his cage for hours - HHRay and I had a laugh while I was attacking him with kisses - I’m getting back into Empire Earth - I’m focusing a bit more on the future - I’m finally learning how to drive - No period cramps (I have a feeling it’s due

Natural Satellites
2007-12-10 20:39:03
In Rottnest I brought up the subject of the Moon to HHRay. I was taught that the Moon was actually just a name for a natural satellite - Earth’s natural satellite, to be specific, and the “Moons” circling other planets could not be called Moons because they, too, were satellites, and had their own names. HHRay laughed at me. But now, I have looked into the topic further and guess what - it’s true, but only to an extent. While the proper name for the darn rocks which orbit planets is ‘natural satellite’, they are still frequently called moons (with a lowercase ‘m’). In fact, apparently, the Moon (as in Earth’s natural satellite) does not have any other proper English name other than the Moon. With a ‘the’ and a capital ‘M’. In my opinion, this is stupid. Why call other satellites moons when they obviously have their own names and their own scientific term - natural satellite. It’s hogging our Moon’

Butt Thrusting
2007-12-10 18:57:33
I left my bedroom this morning to feed my dog and bird and found my mother crouching on all fours on the floor, thrusting her butt up in the air repeatedly in front of the mirror. I paused and stared. And then I realized Oh, she’s doing exercise! Wow, I had no idea my mother did exercise this vigorously, butt thrusting and all. And I’ll be damned if she gets a better butt than what I have (which needs some work). From now on I’m turbo-charging my own exercise routine. Bookmark:

Smorty Reviews
2007-12-10 10:28:21
I’ve been wanting to monetize my blog for a while, but was always too busy with the outside world to really bother. A part of it was procrastination and laziness on my part. Thousands of companies encourage bloggers to advertise on blogs by paying bloggers to review their products in their personal niches of the world wide web. A while back I decided that I’d like a (small) piece of the action.  I’ve tried PayPerPost, but found that it simply wasn’t enough. Then I ran across Smorty. While it’s not hugely well known as far as I’m concerned, it seems legitimate enough. I don’t plan to make a real income out of it, but doing a few reviews with them might help me get back on track with paid blogging. So how does Smorty work? I went on their website and registered as a blogger. There was a bit of trouble with receiving my confirmation e-mail for one reason or another, but when I e-mailed Smorty support I got a very prompt response saying that my blog

Fishing for Compliments
2007-12-10 06:42:18
Women fish for compliments. It’s what we do. We want to feel reminded of our strengths and reassured that we’re making an improvement on our weaknesses. But far too often we fish for compliments in the most obvious, blunt ways, that it isn’t really fishing anymore. It’s more like harpooning. So let’s look at some of the ways that simply aren’t subtle enough to remain graceful. 1) “Does this make me look fat?” - Come on, I think we’ve tired this one out a long time ago. It’s like a brick to your man’s head. 2) “I just feel completely hideous compared to your new secretary.” - Sure, he’ll give you a compliment. And then he’ll decide to take a closer look at the secretary. 3) “I think I’m too skinny.” - Yeah, you don’t want reassurance on your skinny hotness at all. 4) “Why was that guy staring at me?” *giggle* - I bet you don’t expect him to tell you it was

Cat Show Show :o

Backstreet Boys - Pop Died a Little
2007-12-09 09:15:23
I have come to the conclusion that a little bit of music died on the day that the Backstreet Boys broke up. Nothing comes close to their dancey pop hits and their new stuff just doesn’t compare. I have looked through their videos on YouTube and decided to pick three to present to you as a tribute to the death of pop. THE CALL     EVERYBODY

You Think You Know a Massage Chair?
2007-12-09 00:08:00
Christmas is coming up and I know how much HHRay loves massages. So I figured I’d get him one of those massage seats type things. You all know the ones - they go on your couch, you turn them on, and these rollers massage the heck out of your back? I love those things! Then I saw this chair and it puts my massage seat idea to shame. I mean wow, who knew anyone would put so many features into an armchair? And the name has got to be the most futuristic thing I’ve ever seen: Human Touch HT 7450 Zero Gravity Massage -Chair .htm">Massage Chair . I went on the Human Touch site and checked out the product info on the chair. Apparently the company is recommended by the American College of Chiropractic Orthopedists, which I’m guessing is a big deal. The chair uses four techniques to massage its lucky occupant: Percussion, Rolling, Compression, and Kneading. It’s actually recommended for people with arthritis, people with poor circulation, diabetes-related foot problems, and various types of bo

A Toilet Can Save your Life
2007-12-08 23:47:32
Apparently this is what you’re meant to do if you’re trapped in a burning building. As tempting as it would be, I don’t think I could breathe out of a toilet. I’d probably gag or become nauseous or something. I mean come on, I think we all know where that’s been…or to put it better, what has been in it. And I doubt that pipe is as clean as is implied in the diagram. Pretty sure I’d rather take my chances crawling to freedom along the ground and holding my breath. Besides, why couldn’t we breathe out of a sink instead? Bookmark:

Love
2007-12-21 08:22:09
Hearts that don’t love can’t be broken A dream stays a dream if not woken If you never bleed then you won’t understand Come pick the red roses with your bare hands - Delta Goodrem - Bare Hands I absolutely love this song. It makes me think about people who are in denial about love because they’re afraid to let themselves feel it for one reason or another. In the end, I think it’s better to take a chance and throw caution to the wind than to miss out because you’re scared. It’s easier said than done, I would know >.<. In fact, I feel very hypocritical writing this. But it’s my blog so stuff it. Love takes on a different definition for each person.  To me, love means wanting to spend the rest of your life with a person and caring about their happiness as much as, if not more, as you care about your own. It means not caring about the statistics of how many relationships actually last and trusting a person with everything you have.  S

A Vision

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
2007-12-21 01:04:00
I’ve started playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, and I absolutely love it. I have only gotten to play for about 30 minutes so far and this is already the only first person shooter I actually like. Now I just need to find a legit. CD key to play online >.> The game is thoroughlly scary and I’m only in the beginning stages! I don’t know if I’ll have the guts to pass the whole thing, some have called it the scariest PC game :o. The game has various endings depending on how you choose to progress - meaning it isn’t just a linear plot. I’m proud to be able to say that the game was made by a Ukrainian company. It’s so strange to be playing the English version and hear people speaking Russian in the background - it adds new depth to the game and makes me feel more involved. I think those who just understand the English parts are missing out greatly. Bookmark:

Online Gambling
2007-12-19 06:43:35
Let’s talk about online gambling. What a waste of time…depends on how you look at it, I guess. Did you know that there are only a few U.S. approved online casinos out there? Actually I don’t have that much against online gambling…I just don’t know how people can put their trust into an online casino, to the point of putting so much money on the line. At least in real life you can feel a bit more secure in your gabling ventures. But I guess I’m not the only one who thinks this. Pro360 is a site that is dedicated to review various online casinos. In fact, they’ve been doing it for almost 11 years. You can look at reviews in different categories, as can be seen at the top nav bar of the site. Some of these include Blackjack, slots, sports betting, and poker. I guess if you’re absolutely set on risking your cash online, this would be the site to go to in order to make sure that you’re not making unnecessary risks by falling into some

Hollywood News
2007-12-19 05:54:22
I think it’s time for a bit of Hollywood news. First of all, I just found out that Britney Spears has released a video for Piece of Me, a song off of her new album. Now, as much as I know her career’s down the drain at this point, some songs on that CD are still awesome to listen to, Piece of Me being one of them. This video, however, completely kills it for me. It just seems so…un-energetic. Is it just me? I mean come on, this is such a great song to dance to - but she barely dances in the whole thing! She just does some head bobbing walking on bent knees thing. A great disappointment. Click here to watch it on YouTube. Also, Angelina Jolie has officially labeled her biological daughter Shiloh an outcast. She said: “She looks like Brad. It’s funny because she’s almost going to be the outcast in the family because she’s blonde and blue-eyed.” Brad is apparently furious with Ange because he also just recently found out that Ange never wan

Hero
2007-12-19 02:56:28
I watched Hero this morning and it was so good. And coming from me, that’s something, as I usually hate the Eastern fighting movies. But this movie just blew me away. I stayed hooked the entire time. Basically, it’s about an assassin who disguises himself as a warrior who protects the ruler from assassins who have been trying to kill him for years. When the ruler is having drinks with the warrior (played by Jet Li) and presenting him with rewards after he supposedly kills the assassins, the ruler realizes that Jet Li wants to kill him. Jet Li and the ruler then talk about how he pulled the whole thing off and tell different versions of the story. The ending is extremely sad, but I don’t want to give anything away. The costumes are so excellent as well, because the characters are wearing clothes of different colors in each verstion of the story. For example, in one version everyone’s clothing theme was red, in the next it was blue, then white, etc. The whole m

Yay for Birmingham
2007-12-19 02:11:07
Oh how I miss Alabama. Especially Birmingham , the largest city in the entire state. I had almost forgotten my visit to Birmingham years ago, until I checked out the city’s guide here, on USA Hotel Guide. I’ve gotta admit, Birmingham isn’t such a great tourist hotspot - I didn’t think I’d see it in a guide :S. I saw Birmingham on the list of guides and, when I clicked on it, was instantly reminded of how great the city really was. Yeah, who would’ve thought, a great city in Alabama, right? Well Birmingham is one of those cities. The Birmingham guide talks about different hotels and attractions that Birmingham has to offer. It’s located at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and has more than 500 restaurants. One thing that kind of threw me off is mention of how many Baptist churches there are. Is this really relevant? What if a Muslim wants to visit the city? Why not list how many Muslim churches there are as well? I’d like to see a
