Liam KyleCAVS BEAT MACCABI ELITE 93-52 IN BLOWOUT!The Cavs beat Maccabi Elite of the Euroleague in a preseason game in Cleveland. Tough time playing the NBA teams for Maccabi. They seem to struggle against each one. Bron Bron did it all with 13 points, 8 boards and 8 assists. LJ just has to keep up the heat he's got going and the Cavs will do great this season. Drew Gooden had a good game with 21 points and 8 boards. Gooden has to stand out more late season. Sometimes I forgot he was even playing out there. Donyell Marshall got 19 points and 10 boards and shot 8-12 from the field. Marshall was on a nice streak in the playoffs. I think he will take that confidence gained from the playoffs and come steaming into this season. Larry Hughes got 12 points and 3 assists. Hughes will be fine. It will be interesting to see how he meshes with LJ for an entire season. Keep checking the top left scoreboards for updated scores on more of tonight's games.GO CAVS!

COVERAGE!Last night there were six preseason games. First I want to congratulate the Knicks on their 111-97 win over the New Jersey Nets in their first preseason game. The Knicks seemed to play a good team game under Isiah Thomas. Stephon Marbury got 16 points and 1 steal in 22 minutes. Marbury is just getting started. I think he will embrace Isiah and play well under him. Quentin Richardson got 14 points and 3 assists in 23 minutes. They still probably want to trade him. I would be surprised if heavy rumors start buzzing or he gets dealt. Marcus Williams got 21 points and 7 assists in 32 minutes. Williams is a steal. He puts in points and can dish the ball also.Next my recap on the Bucks beating the Bobcats 104-100. Michael Redd got 21 points and 3 assists in 26 minutes. Redd is still the leader for the Bucks. He knows he has to play big for them to win. Charlie Bell got 16 points and 2 steals in 24 minutes. Raymond Felton got 20 points and 6 boar

FULL RECAP OF CLIPPS BEATING LAKERS 91-90!The Clippers and Lakers faced off in a battle for LA in the preseason; here is my recap. The Lakers are not ready for the season yet. With tons of injuries left and right from Kobe to Mihm the season will start slow for the Lakers. The Clipps are there but not at 100% good health. I expect them to start out much better than the Lakers. The cat Cuttino Mobley led the way with 26 points and 3 assists in 41 minutes. Good game but lots of minutes for Mobley. When they actually abide by their rotation, Mobley will rest maybe 10+ more minutes. Corey Maggette got 14 points and boards in 19 minutes. Maggette is doing fine for the preseason. Last seasons injury is no longer a problem and Maggette, should be optimistic about this season. Elton Brand got 20 points and 4 steals in 30 minutes. Brand has been playing outstanding ball. His shooting is up to par and his overall play is better. Shaun Livingston got 11 points and 4

This game was boring at first, then, without AI on the court, Rodney Carney and Rick Bruson staged a comeback in the 4th. Allen Iverson led the way with 29 points and 5 assists in 29 and a half minutes. Iverson started hot but cooled down in the second half. I liked one of his passes to Chris Webber and think he will start to become more and more unselfish. Chris Webber got 17 points and 4 boards in 26 minutes. Webber was just like AI, cold in the second half. They will play more in season. Andrea Iguodala got 11 points and 10 boards in 12 minutes. Andrea put solid number up. He will become better and better and maybe win the dunk contest this year! Kyle Korver got 20 points and 7 boards in 35 minutes. He played well. Korver was taking quick shots but made most of them. The rookie Rodney Carney got 14 points and 7 boards in 26 minutes. Carney was a part of the group that

COVERAGE!A lot more preseason games went down last night. First, the Magic beat the Bobcats 109-90. The Magic had a great game getting seven players in double figures. Dwight Howard got 18 points and 10 boards in 24 minutes. He keeps improving. I look for him to make the All Star team this year, or be very close. Keyon Dooling got 10 points and 1 assist in 20 minutes. Dooling needs to stay healthy this season. If he can, the Magic may be able to pull off that run they had late last year even longer. Grant Hill got 16 points and 2 assists in 18 minutes. Great to see him on the court. Let's just hope he can have a full healthy season. Adam Morrison got 19 points and 1 board in 24 and a half minutes. Wonderful start for Morrison. I look for him to boost the Bobcats offense a lot this year. Next, the Celtics beat the Cavs 109-93. This is kind of a surprise to me. Although it is only preseason LJ didn't really do much. Paul Pierce got 17 points and Read more:Photo

It's too bad this had to end, but it was a good experience for both leagues. Amare Stuodamire got 11 points in 24 minutes. He is working himself back. I like that he can make it through back to back games. "We're not going to play great basketball until he's 100 percent," Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said. Marcus Banks got 21 points and made all 10 of his free throws. Good to see Banks fit in. This is his style of play and he should do great. The other game was the Sixer and CSKA Moscow with the Sixers winning 85-71, and here is my recap of that. I saw a little of the 3rd and 4th periods and was surprised Moscow couldn't pull off a successful comeback. I was routing for them to see an international team win the last game of Europe Live but they came up short.CAN'T WAIT TO SEE ANOTHER EUROPE LIVE

BEAT CELTS IN FIRST OT OF PRESEASON AND PACERS BEAT NETS!The Pacers beat the Nets 103-89. The Toronto Raptors beat the Celtics 118-112 in overtime. Here is my recap for the Pacers game. The Pacers had a good scoring attack without Jermaine O'Neal who had a DNP. I think the Nets will be better in the season but will not try as hard in the preseason. Al Harrington got 21 points and 9 boards in 23 minutes. Great comeback to the Pacers for Harrington. I know he will be good to have when other Pacers are hurt. Antoine Wright got 23 points and 4 boards in 35 minutes. Good game for Wright. Now for the recap on the overtime Raptors game. Chris Bosh led the Raptors with 22 points and 4 boards in 23 minutes. Bosh was on fire. I hope his offense will keep improving so he can beat bad on both end of the floor. Rajon Rondo got 29 points and 5 assists in 38 minutes. Rondo played well but it's preseason. The Lakers had great execution for being without Kobe all preseason. Still no word on if he will play on the Tuesday season opener. The Nuggets are looking good. Melo has become more of a leader and starring with his role. Melo led the Nuggets with 32 points and 3 boards in 31 minutes. His work ethic is shining now. If you look at tape from last season and this season, you will see a difference in confidence. J.R. Smith got 14 points and 3 boards in 22 minutes. He has to come in and be like a young, more talented Voshon Lenard. His shooting capabilities will earn him minutes on this deep squad. Andre Miller got 14 points and 11 assists in 30 minutes. George Karl thinks he is overweight. I have to agree; he looks different, but when it counts his weight shouldn't be an issue. Andrew Bynum, the birthday boy, got 23 points and grabbed 7 boards in 34 minutes. W Read more:NUGGETS

From the opening tip-off the Jacksonville Jam controlled the game on court during a special night, which saw Artis Gilmore start the game at center for the Jam. Gilmore was greeted by a standing ovation at UNF Arena as his name was called to start for the Jam against the South Alabama Bounce. The 7'2-280 Gilmore did not disappoint as he controlled the opening tip-off and tipped the ball to a streaking TheAnthony Haymon, who took Gilmore's tip to open the game up to the basket with a high flying slam dunk that delighted all the fans in attendance. After three minutes of live action, Gilmore raised his fist to Jam head coach, Steve Tucker signaling it was time to call it a night. Gilmore stayed on the bench with the Jam during the first half and cheered on his Jam teammates, who totally controlled the play on court. Jacksonville opened up a 10 point lead in the first quarter and led 28-22 at the end of the first period of play.In the second quarter Jam p Read more:JACKSONVILLE

BACK TO PLAY IN THE ABA!The A Train
Artis Gilmore will play basketball once again! Back to where he started in the ABA with the Jacksonville Jam! As a Jacksonville resident this is a smart place to play for him. "Artis has had an outstanding career and we felt we should honor that career by bringing him out of retirement for a game," said Felix Krupczynski, a past interview on Basketball Notes by Alex and Owner of the Jacksonville Jam. "At half time, we will pay tribute to his many contributions on and off the court and then retire his #53 jersey in honor of his legacy," Krupczynski added. This will bring a retro feel to the Jams play. Other news on the Jam, they beat the Miami Tropics 103-100 to keep up the nice start to their first season.GO JAM! Read more:ARTIS

Raptors have recently been playing poorly, but pulled off a much needed win over the Pacers 92-83. It was really a game of runs for both teams, and the Raptors got off to a great start in the first two quarters. Quickly out of the second half the Pacers went on a huge run to cut what was as big as a 27 points lead to four. The attack that kept the Raptors up was the bench which was led by Jose Calderon, Joey Graham and Bargnani who really surprised me. Andrea Bargnani had 14 points and shot two of five from the three points line in 22 minutes off the bench. He was hot in the second quarter. He hit two threes and showed he can put the ball on the floor and make some really nice moves. Check out www.nba.com and see Bargnani make the highlight reel in the NBA TV broadband. Jose Calderon got 13 points and 5 assists in 25 minutes. He is a growing player who looks like he can really develop into some player. Chris Bosh got 17 points and 11 boards in

For all readers: here's a reminder of why Artis Gilmore is WAY OVERDUE for induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame. His remarkable career highlights include: JACKSONVILLE UNIVERSITY • Led Jacksonville University to the NCAA championship final game vs UCLA in 1970. • All-time NCAA Division I career rebounding average leader (22.7 rebounds per game) • NCAA All-Tournament Team (1970) • One of only eight players in college history to average 20 points and 20 rebounds per game over a career • NCAA rebounding champion in 1970 and 1971 • National Association of Basketball Coaches All-American Team (1970-1971) • Number reti

Heat beat New Jersey Nets 113-106. If you're a Nets fan you had to be scared during this game. In the third quarter RJ Richard Jefferson left the game with a sprained ankle. He tried to come back and play but didn't feel right so RJ stayed in the locker room for the rest of the game. In the fourth quarter Vince Carter cut his hand, but luckly he was able to comeback and play. Dwyane Wade got 34 points and 10 assists in 41 minutes. Wade was an imminent factor to the Heat surge in the second half. I was really impressed by how he hung in the air on a reverse layup. Udonis Haslem got 28 points and 9 boards in 39 minutes. Haslem was playing terrific ball, and I like his defense. Antoine Walker got 15 points and 10 boards in 38 minutes. Walker has to be consistent if he wants to start every game. Vince Carter got hot and scored 33 points and 4 assists in 36 minutes. Carter got too many open shots in the first half. The Heat stopped him and got con

First, Grant Hill was having a fantastic game so they went to him, down 101-103. The shot he made was a shot I didn't think he could pull off. Then, the Sixers called a 20 second timeout and all eyes were on Allen Iverson, of course. He got the ball on the in bounds and got a high pick at the key from Rodney Carney for an incredible shot over two Magic defenders. Allen Iverson had a monsterous night with 39 points and 10 assists in 46 minutes. It's great that Iverson can put up these numbers. The bad thing is they need more scoring from others. I want to see Rodney Carney come in and maybe get 10 to 15 points a night. Kyle Korver got 28 points and shot 4-4 from the three point line in 30 minutes. Korver was the only one scoring wise to help AI. Grant Hill got 25 points and 4 assists in 37 minutes. Nice to see Hill back again. I really hope I

29, 2006 Boca Raton, Florida: The Palm Beach Imperials of the American Basketball Association (ABA) played host to Swish Hoops out of Miami in an exciting afternoon scrimmage game at Florida Atlantic University today. With the score tied 30 to 30 at the end of the first quarter, the Imperials jacked up a team total 128 points including an extra 11 points thanks to the ABA marquee 3-D Rule. This unique ABA rule enables a team to score an extra point whenever the ball is stolen in the backcourt. It's this rule that Coach Carr is counting on to score his stated goal of 200-points this season.Carl Jenkins led the Imperials with 21 points and 9 rebounds hitting his first 3-point shots. Other top performers for the Imperials were former Florida Pit Bull, Bobby St-Preux, who scored 19 points and newcomer Raphael Morris from Chicago/Venezuela who tossed in 20 points. Standout, Lamar Moore, former FAU baler had 10 points. Moore and St-Preux just fi

KNICKS BRAWL IN NY and MELO THROWS A PUNCH! The game was a blowout, a usual thing for the Knicks these days, with 1:15 left in the 4th quarter the score was 119-100. J.R. Smith motored down the lane, and Mardy Collins took him down hard it was a flagrant foul. Then, the teams run over and Melo had words with Nate Robinson and then Robinson took down J.R. Smith and the whole game was messed up. The brawl moved down court, and Melo hit Mardy Collins and 10 players were thrown out. Carmelo Anthony, J.R. Smith, Marcus Camby, Eduardo Najera and Andre Miller for the Nuggets, and Mardy Collins, Nate Robinson, Channing Frye, Jared Jeffries and David Lee for the Knicks. I think the consequences will be double harsh if Stern has the last word. Melo has to set examples as a star player and throwing punches will lose him some popularity but give him street cred. Robinson is a little guy but a big fighter, and I am not surprised by his actions. Jared Jeffries wan

LOSE IN DENVER! Allen Iverson made his long anticipated premiere as a Denver Nugget. The Nuggets didn't win in a close game to the Kings 101-96. Allen did have a great game with 22 points and 10 assists in 39 minutes on nine of 15 shooting from the field. Iverson established himself well and he came in and passed the ball in first half. In the third quarter it was his time to score with 12 points in the quarter. The last quarter the Kings were great. Salmons helped out with a triple double 21 points, 10 assists and 11 boards in 40 minutes. I think moving from the Sixers is what he needed. This system seems to fit his style and he can get good minutes. Be sure to watch the LA Lakers go to Miami and play the Heat at 2:30 Eastern on ABC! Christmas day! GO NUGGETS!

BaldizonHEAT BURN LAKERS
!The Miami Heat beat the LA Lakers in a Christmas Day showdown 101-85. The game was close but not near as close as I expected. The Heat didn't sacrifice the lead at all and had an easy time beating the Lakers. The big time player in this game was Flash Dwayne Wade. Wade made the court look like a slip and slide on a summer Miami day the way he was wowing the crowd with spin moves. Flash finished the game with 40 points and 11 assists in 41 minutes. The starting five for the Lakers have to eliminate their carelessness with the ball and their ability to stay in games. Ronny Turiaf, the Lakers first male cheerleader-player (have you watched him on the bench?) was outstanding off the bench with 13 points and 7 boards in 19 and a half minutes. You don't know by looking at the boxscore if Turiaf has had a good game or not. The tenacious hustle and flat out energy he shows even on the bench makes him a perfect role player.WHAT WILL WADE DO NEXT? Read more:Photo
