Are you a Marijuana or Cigarette smoker? Then you should betted know that Marijuana is more dangerous than Cigarettes. Recent researches shows that almost every Marijuana smokes less than Cigarette smokers. But thats not a good sign either. Researchers who compared marijuana smoke to tobacco smoke found that ammonia levels were 20 times higher in the marijuana smoke, and that hydrogen cyanide and nitrogen-related chemicals also were more prevalent in the marijuana smoke. The latter likely came from fertilizer used to grow the marijuana, which came from Canada. Unlike tobacco, however, marijuana smoke does not contain the addictive drug nicotine. New research finds that smoking three or four marijuana cigarettes a week for six years could harm lung function and destroy antioxidants that pro

Abstinence Strongest Strategy for Sustained Recovery
2007-12-02 14:11:00
Almost all addiction starts from alcoholism. Recent studies reports that the best chance to sustain ones recovery is to completely abstain from alcohol consumption. Overall, the study found that people in recovery who were abstainers at the beginning of the study were least likely to relapse during the three years reviewed (2002-2005). Fifty-one percent of asymptomatic risk drinkers (people who did not have abuse or dependence symptoms, but who drank more than the recommended guidelines to avoid relapse) experienced a recurrence of alcohol dependence symptoms. But researchers discovered that abstaining worked best for those over 25.

Deadly Drink="Alcohol + EnergyDrinks"
2007-11-07 08:47:00
College students often mix alcohol with energy drinks so that they can drink more and longer, researchers say, but the strategy can lead to more alcohol-related injuries, too.students who mixed alcohol and drinks like Red Bull had double the risk of being hurt or injured, requiring medical attention, driving with an intoxicated driver, being taken advantage of sexually, or taking advantage of another sexually. Its surprising that the risk of serious and potentially deadly consequences is so much higher for those who mixed energy drinks with alcohol, even if we adjust the amount of alcohol. Only the symptoms of drunkenness are reduced -- but not the drunkenness. They can't tell if they're drunk; they can't tell if someone else is drunk. So they get hurt, or they hurt someone else. Mixing is

2007-11-01 15:43:00

Do not take YABA.
2007-10-30 03:01:00
Yaba(Crazy medicine, pronounced yar bah)Recently in my country (Bangladesh) Yaba is becoming a great threat to the young people. Many young boys and girls want to cure them selves from Yaba addiction. But its not that simple. If u take it like 5-6 weeks then it’s all over. You can’t return from it. You will become like a mindless puppet. You will get addicted after only taking 10-15 pills. Then you will have to increase the number of it to fulfill your addiction. It means YOU ARE DEAD.Yaba Information:Originally manufactured by the Nazis to help keep their troops awake for days, Yaba has become increasingly popular in the Far East amongst claims that the drug is now bigger than heroin in Thailand. Yaba is a derivative of synthetic amphetamines such as speed and can be manufactured far

What a cool name Isn't it?
2007-10-27 03:17:00
Marijuana sounds groovy. But name is not the factor. Even the look. In kill bill vol-1 there was a school girl looked so sweet but was an ultimate killer. Marijuana is not so different. It looks like ordinary green thing but a Illegal drug. Some of the common physical effects of marijuana include:Tremors Nausea Headache Worsening coordination Breathing problems Increased appetite Reduced blood flow to the brain Changes in the reproductive organs Like tobacco, marijuana contains many chemicals that can hurt the lungs and cause cancer. One marijuana cigarette can cause more damage to the lungs than many tobacco cigarettes, because marijuana has more tar in it and is usually smoked without filters. Unpleasant side effects from marijuana occur in about 40 to 60 percent of people who use marijua

The recent plight of Britney Spears serves as a prominent example of feeding such media frenzy. She lost her shines, glory, and she even said that "I dont belive Jessus". Its all because Drugs. She shaved her head. She completely lag behing of her celebrity title. Few days ago she appeared MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas! and picking the outfit for her ill-received VMA performance, Spears has been painted as an artist-as-island.

What are some of the signs to look for?
2007-06-21 05:58:00
CHANGE IN PERSONALITY - Your loving child turns mean. This can happen with the onset of puberty, but it is much worse when there is substance abuse going on. Do you feel like no matter what you say or do, you just can't win? Are you afraid or reluctant to confront your child due to violent outbursts or reactions from them when you attempt to inquire about any part of their lives? Just remember, when a kid is backed into a corner, he may have discovered that the best defense is an offense, and many teens, particularly boys, find that by coming back with loud yelling, they can be very intimidating to their mothers. Suspect drug use if your child has lately become very irritable, unpleasant to or bullying of other family members, very easy to provoke, starts to use a lot of profanity seems t

Why do people use and abuse drugs?
2007-06-17 08:00:00
There are many reasons why people use drugs. Some people use drugs because they like the rush it gives them or because they are thrill-seekers. Others may try a drug out of curiosity or because their friends do it. However, many people use drugs in order to cope with unpleasant emotions and the difficulties of life. In fact, the National Alliance on Mental Illness estimates that around 50% of drug abuse rs also suffer from a mental illness such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia.People who are suffering emotionally use drugs—not in order to get high—but to feel normal. What are the signs and symptoms of drug addiction and abuse?
2007-06-17 07:59:00
The more drug use begins to affect and control a person's life, the more likely it is that he or she has a drug problem. Unfortunately, substance abuse rs are often the last ones to recognize their own symptoms of dependence and addiction . If you suspect that a friend or loved one is abusing drugs, it's important to remember that drug abusers often try to conceal their symptoms and downplay their problem. But there are a number of warning signs you can look for:Inability to relax or have fun without doing drugs. Sudden changes in work or school attendance and quality of work or grades. Frequently borrowing money, selling possessions, or stealing items from employer, home, or school. Angry outbursts, mood swings, irritability, manic behavior, or overall attitude change. Talking incoherently

What is drug abuse and substance abuse?
2007-06-17 07:58:00
Drug abuse , also known as substance abuse, involves the repeated and excessive use of a drug to produce pleasure or escape reality—despite its destructive effects. The substances abused can be illegal drugs such as marijuana and cocaine, or legal substances used improperly, such as prescription drugs and inhalants like nail polish or gasoline. But whatever the drug of choice, substance abuse can be identified by the maladaptive way in which it takes over the user's life, disrupting his or her relationships, daily functioning, and peace of mind. For those in the grips of drug abuse and addiction, their drug controls them, not the other way around. “Uncontrollable, compulsive drug seeking and use, even in the face of negative health and social consequences” is the essence of drug addict

fpa Response To 'Sex, Drugs, Alcohol And Young People' Report, UK

Responding to the publication of the Independent Advisory Group (IAG) on Sexual Health and HIV seminar report 'Sex, Drugs , Alcohol and Young People' Anne Weyman, Chief Executive fpa said: "fpa welcomes this report and supports all findings of the review. We have to recognise that drugs and alcohol influence some young people's sexual behaviour consequently putting them at risk. This is why we need a national strategy relevant to young people's experiences. It would also connect the work of different organisations that are currently operating in isolation from each other. "As this report shows, young people receive messages and behavioural cues not just from family and friends but from different sources including advertising and the media.
