My Readers' Most Memorable Christmas 2007-12-19 14:53:00 "What's Your Favorite Christmas
Memory?" I appreciate everyone's touching responses to this years last Tuesday's Question. And as always, I posted each bloggers comment along with a link to their blog. That way if you like a bloggers response you can visit their blog by just clicking on the blog name. They're all great responses from dynamite blogs so I know you'll enjoy their memories, I certainly did. What Is Your Most Memorable Christmas? My Christmas Card And Tuesday's Question: What Is Your Most Memorable Christmas Moment? 2007-12-18 02:58:00 What Is Your Most Memorable ChristmasMoment
Or Event? You know this morning I realized that this is the last Tuesday
's Question
this year, because next Tuesday is Christmas Day and the next Tuesday will be New Years Day!Therefore, I decided I better give out my homemade Christmas card before Christmas actually arrived. I hope you all have a happy and save holiday season.Oh, and by the way, in case this card is hard to make out...it's my A Nice Place In The Sun icon of a mother bird in her empty nest. She's looking through the window of a house decorated for Christmas... It's a shame, but this children's picture book writer can barely draw a straight line. Although, everything in life is a trade off, so if I wanted my card to come from my heart, I would have to involve my hand- :)Happy holidays again~Now, to the business of Tuesday question:What is your Most Memorable Christmas Moment Or Event? Eight Stories Of The Most Obnoxious People 2007-12-16 16:29:00 Read eight stories of the most obnoxious people my readers have ever met:Everyone did a wonderful job commenting on the second to last Tuesday's Question: Who is The Most Obnoxious Person You've Ever Met however, due to an emergency I never posted the comments. (You thought I forgot didn't you?) Well, I would never forget the most beautiful people in the world- my readers. Therefore, here are the fantastic accounts of the most outrageous people my fellow bloggers have ever met, you know, those wonderful unforgettable people in our lives- or the most outrageous anyway. Here's my hero:I've already written one post about the most obnoxious person in my life: my first boss Harold at a chicken franchise called Chicken Coop. That post is about a time I stapled Harold's tie to his shirt while he and I made dinner orders. Experts say that people are not born mean, but Harold was. He had a big button red nose that would put Rudolph to shame, and a little mustache, so go figure. Harold Read more:Stories

I'm a Little Nutty... 2007-12-16 01:26:00 Kesa at Aussie CynicDawn from Twisted Sister, Sandee from Comedy Plus, Eric from Hollydale Speedcat Page, Jos from Additional Blog Love, from NoDirectOn (not:NoDirection) and Kimberly at Purple Frogcat (who, by the way created this award) all happen to think I'm a little nutty! And you know, I've heard it said, if you hear gossip about someone one time, it's probably just a matter of opinion... and if you hear the same thing again, well... maybe there's something to it and maybe not... but if three people say the same thing... chances are there's some element of truth somewhere... So how do I defend myself if five people say they think I'm a little nutty? Boy! I hope I don't run into a Christmas cook, because I'm in danger of being tossed in a fruitcake! However, you may really think I'm nutty when I say this, but I'm actually a little proud to be called nutty, it's kind of interesting, plus the squirrel on the award is cute... so thanks to everyone who thinks Read more:Nutty
Sleepless In Seattle 2007-12-15 06:35:00 Happy Saturday! This Saturday's favorite movie moment is the phone scene from Sleepless in Seattle
. Sleepless in Seattle is a Christmas movie favorite with stars Tom Hanks and one of my supposed look alikes Meg Ryan (I tried Speedys celebrity photos from his blog, but didn't have the courage to post it. But, Speedy's is fun to watch and the pictures really do look like him, you should go see it) anyway, Meg and Tom Hanks are at the top of their game in this picture. Also, in the next few days be sure to watch for my blogging buddies comments to both this week and lasts Tuesdays Question which were,The Most Outrageous Person You've Ever Known and Silly Spills and The Results because as always they're fantastic. Have a fun and happy Saturday!TEXT

Unforeseen Circumstances 2008-03-12 00:38:39 I didn't see it coming- I mean how could anyone guess they would be wrestled to the ground by a calf, first thing in the morning...then taken hostage...Now, due to these unforeseen circumstances I have to postpone Tuesday's Question until this afternoon. However, I will definitely post it.
Chipper Kids: Counting In The Crazy Garden 2008-03-11 19:28:22 “One Jiggly, wiggly, wobbly worm cobbler” sounded great to Arnold Chipper, the creative and organized teddy bear gardener. However, the zealot chef had trouble convincing his curious but reluctant sister Maria and friend Albert to try his dishes. Not because the recipes were from the garden, but because the ingredients were the dirt, grass, pine needles and other creatures Arnold found outside. Chipper Kids-Counting
in the CrazyGarden
is a counting by numbers book (one to ten) although it reads more like a story- The book begins on a single page with Arnold Chipper stirring from a bowl of what looks like mud, although the first page is not counted. The counting begins on the first two-page spread with the number One in the top left corner. The page with the number in the corner ha
What Year Was Your Favorite Birthday And Why ? 2008-03-11 04:58:32 "I had more candles on my cake! Although, I guess that's not something to brag about though is it?- Well, never mind." :)What year was your favorite birthday and why? First, let me apologize for posting Tuesday's Question so late in the day. My stepfathers mother, Marie, passed away yesterday so I spent today at the funeral home saying goodbye. Although, with the exception of today I've been running behind a lot lately, for no apparent reason and with no acceptable excuse for my tardiness. Plus, in case you haven't noticed this is the third Tuesday's Question I've posted late in the day in the last three weeks. I've just been in a quandary for some reason, but at least today I have a legitimate excuse for my tardiness. I would have postp Read more:Favorite

Tuesdays Question: What Sound, Smell, Song, Etc, Reminds You Of A Happy Moment Or Person? 2008-03-11 04:54:02 Welcome to Tuesday's Question
! And congratulations to the new award recipients of the You Cheer Me Up Award winners underneath this post. What is difficult about using blogger is when you want to do three important posts at once. One covers another, so I'm going to leave Tuesday's Question first for the beginning of the day, and this afternoon I have a few special friends to thank with another award to post. Moving on, I have a nostalgic Tuesday's Question today, but it should be a fun one. What Sound
, Smell
, Song, Etc, Reminds You of A HappyMoment
Or Person? You know when you're driving along the road and hear a song on the radio that reminds you of someone or something that made you happy? Or when you smell a certain perfume or go to a particular place, it evokes a happy memory ? Read more:Tuesdays
Readers Comments To Tuesdays Question: What Smell, Sound, Song , Etc. Reminds You Of A Happy Moment Or Person? 2008-03-10 03:29:54 As usual, the responses to this past Tuesday's Question
were wonderful. I asked What Smell
, Sound
, Song, Etc, Reminds You Of A HappyMoment
Or Person? And here were your responses- Remember those of you reading Tuesday's Questions comments to be sure and visit these bloggers blogs- they're great- just click on the link name, and thank you all for reading~ My good friend Sandee, from Comedy Plus was the first to comment: Great question Ann, but there are so many for me to pick from. Let's see...One of the greatest smells for me is the smell of a freshly cut Christmas tree. It reminds me of my childhood. My parents never had a artificial tree until all of us kids were grown. It was always a freshly cut tree that us kids would pick to celebrate Christmas. We lived on a farm and there was fo Read more:Tuesdays

Saturdays Favorite Movie Moment: Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid 2008-03-08 18:32:59 This is one of my favorite scenes from the movie classic Butch Cassidy
and the Sundance
Kid, starring Paul Newman, Robert Redford, and Katherine Ross. Butch (Newman's character)takes Etta (Katherine Ross) for a ride on a bicycle for the first time- to the tune Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head by Burt Bacharach. I hope you like it, this movie clip puts me in a great mood every time I see it...I would rather go on a bike ride like this than wined and dined in the finest restaurant, especially with Paul Newman. Have a terrific Saturday, but look out for raindrops- Well.. that was a corny fragmented sentence wasn't it? Oh well...watching this scene shook me up~ :)) Cheers and happy Saturday~TEXT

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind/ Bob Dylan- Most Of The Time 2008-03-08 06:11:48 Happy Saturday! This Saturday's favorite movie moment is a video clip of the most romantic and heartbreaking scenes in the movie, Eternal
Sunshine Of The Spotless
Mind, starring Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet, with Bob Dylan
singing 'Most Of The Time' in the background. If you haven't seen Eternal Sunshine
Of The Spotless Mind, you should definitely rent it- it's one of those films everyone can relate too, I promise.Have a happy, fun, dreamy, and if possible, romantic week-end - and remember: if romance is not in the picture right now, to have a happy, dreamy, and fun week-end anyway- because the way I see it, three out of four isn't bad- "Most of the Time" anyhow. :))TEXT

A Scene from Paper Moon Is Saturday's Favorite Movie Moment 2008-03-08 06:10:27 This Saturday
's Favorite
Movie Moment
debuted in 1973 and starred Ryan and Tatum O'Neal- Tatum who won an Oscar for the role. I remember reading the book during class in Junior High, when we were told to read a chapter out of our textbook. I used to hide whatever novel I was reading inside my textbooks- I bet my teacher wondered why I never knew the material, because I read a lot of books that year. Enjoy this scene, which is one of my favorites, and if you've never seen the movie or read the book, do both, it's a great story. Happy Saturday!TEXT

The One In A Million Friend Award 2008-03-05 19:22:49 "One day I sailed away, far from land and far from bay, with only the ocean for a friend, and the wind to lead the way" My brother gave me a picture of a little sailboat with this inscription when I was a little girl. I don't know who wrote it... the painting said anonymous. I'll have to google it and see- Anyway, I always of it because it was one of the few times my older brother gave me a gift, and he gave it to me for no reason- no reason at all. I wish this award I'm handing out today wasn't for any reason. Because the best things we do in the world aren't noticed and the gifts that are for no reason are the best. The following bloggers have given me gifts for no reason other than to help a friend or the sake of friendship. For instance when I insisted Sandee at Comedy Plus let Read more:Award
What is humor? 2008-03-05 18:50:42 A note to readers I hope this video wasn't too bizarre for my usual readers and new readers, because my son made it- but what is humor, right? His band sounds more like sixties rock,(an influence from Mom's Beatles records)so don't be afraid to visit him at his bands site,(or maybe you should) The Melters just stay away from the rowdy language. I'm just a A Mom trying to show some support here, plus I loved the video. Although, I'm still a family centered humorist who loves to write for children, so you're not on the wrong blog. But maybe, I'm just a nervous Mom. If you're a parent you know how it feels watching your child publicly. My son has been an entertainer all his life but I never get used to it. He is in a popular local band and I've seen lots of shows and now they have an album co
Its Time To Give Out More Of The 'You Cheer Me Award' 2008-03-04 04:10:16 When I started the You Cheer
me Up Award
I decided to keep it going for the new bloggers I meet who cheer me up. Well, I've been keeping up with the blogs out there who cheer me up, along with trying to add some of the blogs I thought I had on the list, however for some reason or another they didn't get an award. I hope I haven't missed anyone again, because you know I can be a bit of a flippedity jibbit at times. Anyway, I'm keeping the recipients fairly small but will continue to add to the original award post every month. Therefore if you've already received an award and are not on the award post page, please shout it out, and I will have my assistants on it you right away. I'm working on a new award page and want to keep up with the award recipients. The You Cheer Me Up Award will
Has It Really Been A Week? 2008-03-02 10:05:18 Has it been a week?I can't believe it's been a week since I posted Saturday’s Favorite Movie moment. I feel like I've been roaming the city with amnesia or something, it's an awful feeling...When I woke up last Monday and couldn't find one slipper, I should have known something was coming, not that all mornings are a bed of roses, but waking up to just one slipper, is a sign that somethings amiss, in retrospect anyway. I do not have a dog, and my cat Simon can't understand why people and dogs find slippers resourceful anyway, so I knew it wasn't the cat- so where in the world was my slipper?I will give one hundred dollars to the person with the answer- but well, never mind, because someone else probably knows- that person is just not me. Hence, I'm looking for my other slipper with on

Nightmares Dominate Tuesday's Question 2008-02-21 03:28:46 I know this frightening image goes against everything A Nice Place In The Sun stands for - what I mean is, this is supposed to be a cheer you up blog. But, I guess you can look at it is way- this will be one of the few times you will see such a ferocious critter on my blog, because I don't do mean. Furthermore, this frightful image does have a purpose, which is to illustrate how scary my visiting bloggers answers were to this weeks Tuesday

New Orleans in 1908 -- 100 Years Ago 2008-02-17 18:56:53 My father e-mailed me these great photographs of New Orleans
in 1908 --100 years ago, that I thought you may enjoy viewing. We still have street cars, horse drawn carriages, and of course Mardi Gras, which you can learn more about here, however, aside from the obvious the city hasn't changed much, which I suppose is part of its charm- although horses aren't used to pull Mardi Gras floats anymore. If you are a traveler and haven't passed through New Orleans
we would love to have you, even after Hurricane Katrina's tirade the Big Easy is still a great place to visit.Have a great Sunday!TEXT

The Fifth Sentence On Page 123 Meme 2008-02-16 16:35:36 Jamie at Duward Discussion tagged my great friend Sandee at Comedy Plus with the FifthSentence
Book meme. Mary The Teach at Answers To The Questions tagged Jamie and titled the Meme the Book Meme whereas my sweet friend Sandee at Comedy Plus referred to it as the 123 Book Meme. So, I thought, I would come up with my own title as well so this meme is called the The Fifth Sentence On Page 123 meme, but it's all the same meme.Thank you Sandee for always thinking of me! I enjoyed writing this meme because I love books, and the book I'm reading was right by me, so it was as easy as pie- that is, it was as easy as eating pie - not baking one, because it is not easy to bake a pie...Anyway, all you have to do with this meme is find the book closest to you that has at least 123 pages, a

Happy Valentines Day! 2008-02-14 16:18:13 More Graphics at pYzam.comThis picture reminds me of Valentines
Day in Elementary school- I remember decorating valentine envelopes the day before the holiday, and hanging them on the wall for our fellow students to drop their valentine cards in the next day. Our teachers planned on every student getting a card, in fact, they told us to tell our mothers how many children were in the classroom, just to be sure everyone would have enough cards... Except, our teachers and parents were in denial about one thing - some students get more cards than others anyway - it's sort of like picking sides for a team. I couldn't wait to get home and see which boys gave me which card and what the card would say, and I remember not getting as many cards some years as I did others...and I recall a few chi Read more:Happy

You Cannot Count On Anything Anymore 2008-02-13 14:21:19 You cannot count on anything anymore- not even your horoscope. Now, I understand that typos are a problem these days, but there are some things you should be able to count on...like your horoscope... For example, here is my astrology report for today- which by the way, I clicked on out of curiosity~ "Your mind is kind of stuck in the past, though it may not be such a bad thing. Nostalgia can be as good ass it is bad sometimes, so indulge yourself in a little stroll down memory lane." What am I supposed to do with that? I don't understand what it means, let alone know what I'm supposed to do with my day. You cannot count on anything anymore...
