Blair's real legacy
1970-01-01 00:59:59
1.End of the UnionAh, yes. The nulabour flagship idea. Devolution. To be fair, most were in favour of a Federal style system being brought to the United Kingdom, but it ended up with the word "United" being removed from "Kingdom". Majority of voters within the UK want the Union to end, English voters do not like the idea of Scots voting on English Laws and the idea of a Scottish Prime Minister. And the fact the government will not grant an English Parliament because it will "break up the Union".....even though its breaking up without one.2.The Home Office(This picture says it all)3.Cash for peeragesApparently, you can give money to the labour party and have a place in the House of Lords! Result eh?4.IraqIraq is going very well according to Blair .....only if you forget the death squads, terrorism, kidnapping, 129 dead British troops, 100,000 Iraqis killed, sectarian violence, Saddam Hussein trail and the fact that Iraq is in the middle of a civil war. Apart from that, its all good.5.Pre

Blair: Blame the media!!
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Tony Blair has turned the blame for his disastrous military campaigns in the Middle East on anti-war dissidents and the media .Warning it would take the West another 20 years to defeat Islamic terrorism, the Prime Minister used a wide-ranging "swansong" lecture on defence to denounce critics and the media who have been a thorn in his side since the invasion of Iraq.(Source:The Independent)Apparently its the media to blame for Iraq, not him....*rolls eyes*. Its interesting to add that the media is also being accused of "spreading enemy propaganda"

Blair defends intervention policy
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Tony Blair has said his foreign policy is "controversial" but his approach of military intervention must continue. In a major speech, he said the "war on terror" may last a generation but to retreat would be a "catastrophe". http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6254253.stmOh, what a suprise. It seems our imperialist Prime Minister thinks that the British Empire still exist, well Tony....it doesn't. I really do not understand his thinking behind this statement. Why does the United Kingdom need to keepng using force? Didn't he learn anything from Iraq? of course he didn't.The United Kingdom should seek to maintain a strong European alliance, not seeking to "go it alone". The European Union should take the front foot and become the main grouping for peacekeeping throughout the World, Britain should be apart of it. Sadly, our Prime Minister has this view that it should be the United Kingdom and the United States as the world police, which is going to do even more damage to our posit

Middle England crybabies
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Apparently, two "major" donors have left the Tories after crying over views on the EU. This comes in light of the other two Tory Lords (which no one has heard of) left to join the xenophobia UKIP (who still think the British Empire exists). UKIP claim to speak for the majority of Britain...even though we are not a bunch of racist nutcases.I do think its very hilarious that poor David "so called Liberal and Centrist" Cameron is trying so hard to change the Tories and no matter how well they're doing in the polls, grass root members and voters do not want to change.

Neocon attack on Iran
1970-01-01 00:59:59
The White House said Sunday it is not planning military action against Iran, but refused to rule out the possibility, bucking pressure from several senators who said the administration is not authorized to do so.Asked whether the United States is preparing for a potential military conflict with Iran, President Bush's national security adviser Stephen Hadley told NBC's "Meet the Press," "No, the president has said very clearly that the issues we have with Iran should be solved diplomatically."

The Union (again)
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Most people, including those in Scotland, think England should have its own parliament, a BBC poll suggests.Newsnight found 61% in England, 51% in Scotland and 48% in Wales agreed with the idea. Its also interesting to note that support for Scottish Independence has dropped to 32%, it did reach 52% at the end of last year but it seems that the recent blow by the EU that Scotland would not get automatic membership has hit the SNP hard.Young Scots are strongest supporters of the Union YOUNG Scots are the most enthusiastic supporters of the Union in the country, according to a new opinion poll for The Scotsman published today on the 300th anniversary of the act's approval by the Scottish Parliament. The poll by ICM found that 42 per cent of the 18-24 age group believed the Union has had a positive impact on Scotland, while only 19 per cent felt it had been negative. But the opinion poll also found there was no majority support in any of the nations of Great Britain for independence. When as

skynews pro Conservatives?
1970-01-01 00:59:59
BBC has been long accused of being biased towards the Labour Party and the Left Wing. However, nobody seems to be talking about Skynews. Skynews has to be one of the most pro Conservative and anti-liberal stations in the United Kingdom (no suprise seeings its sister station is FOXNews). Have you ever notice that more and more of the "guests" on Skynews tend to be somehow linked to the Conservative Party or have a centre right views? When was the last time Skynews criticised David Cameron or the Conservative Party? Notice its suddenly now promoting the Green agenda and that includes David Cameron policies on the environment. And guess who has been their most regular guest in the last year....David Davies MP (Conservative Shadow Home Secretary). Below is a report from Skynews surrounding The Veil Debate, you are about to watch the most biased report ever seen in the United Kingdom. And guess who Skynews blame.....Liberals and the Left Wing.

Blair scuppers Brown's hopes of an early handover
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Tony Blair has signalled that he intends to scupper Gordon Brown 's hopes of taking over as Prime Minister by mid-June. In a further sign of tension between the Prime Minister and his likely successor, Mr Blair warned Labour could lose the next election unless it turned itself into "New, New Labour". Speaking at his monthly press conference, Mr Blair was asked whether he intended to attend the summit of European Union leaders on 21 June. "Of course," he replied, without hesitation.

Adams offers to meet dissidents
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Gerry Adams has offered to meet INLA, CIRA and RIRA in order to bring dissidents into mainstream Republicanism. Adams has pointed out that a United Ireland can only be achieved by peaceful means, terorism will only damage Republicans. "Armed struggle was never a republican principle. It was an option of last resort in the absence of any other alternative," he said. "But, there is now an alternative. There is a peaceful way to achieve political change, equality, justice and ultimately Irish freedom."
