Google Adsense
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Have you registered with Google Adsense ? If you have not, you better do that now. It allows you to be a publisher, providing avenue for advertising and earn some good money without have to do anything! Well, to be fair, not really don't have to do anything. You still need to work hard to maintain your site traffic high. It pays you by the number of clicks your site can generate, on the ad

A Few Tips for Posting
1970-01-01 00:59:59
There are a few simple rules to help your posts interesting to read (these are my personal preference, you may disagree with me): Keep it short, straight to the point. Personally I prefer max 400 words. When reading posts any longer than that, I tend to lose interest quickly (though I often make this mistake in my own blogs). If you really have to write longer, consider breaking it into chapters

Making Money Online
1970-01-01 00:59:59
For a start, it is very important to have a site/blog that has been maintained regularly. The longer you've kept your site/blog, the better it is. It is also important to drive traffic to your site/blog, so that your site/blog is ranked highly by search engines (especially Google PR) and blog directories. With the platform in place, then only you can talk about making money from the Internet.

Starting a Blog
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I invited my best friends to read my blog. As a result of it, some enquired how to set up their own blogs. Well, there are many free blog hosting out there that you can use: Blogger (which where this blog and my other blog are based on)FriendsterXangaMySpaceBlogsomeWordPress.cometcIt depends on which interface you like most, and what features it offers. ADEngage
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Another web advertising program that is similar to Google's Adsense is ADEngage. It serves as a link between us (publishers) and the advertisers. There are quite a few differences, of course. You are the one who decide how much you want your ad space to be charged, in 'per week' basis. For a starter, you'd only be able to charge at $5 per week. For a top performer, it can be as high as $250, but

Advertistic
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Early last month I was contacted by Advertistic, to advertise on my Suzette blog. I really felt honoured, coz my blog wasn't really a great blog (except for my family and friends). Thought it has a PR4, it is just a personal blog of my family, and some travel stories of mine. Anyway, I signed up Advertistic after checking out the detail. It works like Google Adsense but you decide your own

This is the begin of my new blog, Chatterbox. I have other 2 blogs, which have different theme, and I need this to keep my other topics not mixed up. My first blog is parenting and personal blog. Second blog is built based on my old one, focusing on traveling and reviews (book/movie/etc). I do not know what I will be posting in this blog yet, haven't got the clear mind. Let it takes it own

What is Blog to You?
1970-01-01 00:59:59
To me, blog is like a diary, or an event log book. Some treat this like a journal. Some use blog (WordPress, to be specific) as their web design/editing tool. Some use blog to earn money. Some use blog to creat fame. Some use blog as a channel to voice out their views/ frustrations/ emotions, etc. There are just so many usages of blog, depends on invididual needs. The main difference between

"At every moment, even when we sleep, our spinal column is subject to constraints.Researchers measured the pressure exerted at the level of the two inter-vertebral discs, corresponding to the vertebra L5 and S1. This pressure varies according to each one of our postures, going from 25 kilos in sleeping position, to 50 kilos when we stand up, 140 kilos in sitting position, 150 kilos when we

Review Me
1970-01-01 00:59:59
ReviewMe is a blog ad that works similarly to Blogsvertise, i.e. after registering, you wait for the company to contact you for assigned tasks. Actually, after you register, your blog and its description will be placed in a 'marketplace' for advertisers to choose. Advertisers will pick a blog that is closely related to its category. After they choose your blog, you'll be notified by email, and

PayPerPost
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Have you ever thought of blogging can bring you side income? I'm not refering to putting those ad programs like Google Adsense, Advertistic, ADEngage, etc. For these ad programs, you are reactive. That is, you can't do anything to help getting more income, apart from maintaining your site well. You install the codes and then hope for your visitors to click the ads. It is usually hard for blogs,

No One Visit Your Blog?
1970-01-01 00:59:59
After you've done all those things I mentioned in my previous post, if you still find no one visiting your blog, you should try this: . In BlogExplosion, it is almost guaranteed to bring traffic to your blog, if you visit others - very fair deal. How it works? First register your blog and wait for it to be approvedWhen approved, start surfing other members' blogs in BlogExplosionWhen you surf,

Blogsvertise
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Blogsvertise is another blog ads provider, like PayPerPost, but it operates differently. Instead of showing a pool of opportunities (tasks) for bloggers (posties) to grab, Blogsvertise assigns tasks to individual bloggers. What is the process like? First, register with Blogsvertise. After registering, Blogsvertise will assign tasks to registered members. The topics/tasks will be emailed to you.

Is Your Site Indexed?
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Someone has a problem with PPP rejected her blog, because her blog is not indexed by any search engines. She is cracking her head trying to find out why, in the parenting forum I join. Well, first of all, how do you know whether your site is indexed into search engines? Go to Google, in the search box, type in "site:yourwebsite.com" without the quotes. If your site is indexed, it will be listed

CREAMaid
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Another program for blog advertisement, CREAMaid. To start using CREAMaid, you need to insert a CREAMaid Conversation widget inside your post. Once your post is selected by the advertiser (Conversation starter), it will be syndicated to all the participating posts through their embedded Conversation widgets. And you will be able to collect a royalty for your contribution. It sounds a bit

Photos and videos
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I always see this questions from new bloggers: "How do you post photos and video?" Actually this is something very easy for a veteran blogger, but before I found out I was also clueless too! Alright, talking photos, I only use two: PhotoBucket and Flickr. Personally I prefer Flickr more. Uploading is easy, just follow the instruction. I was confused when I first used Flickr. After I

Want More Traffic to Your Blog?
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Apart from BlogExplosion, there is another directories that can help to increase your blog traffic.I've recently stumbled upon BlogAzoo. It is another blog exchange site similar to BlogExplosion. Similarly, you need to read other people's blog for at last 20 seconds to qualify earning some credits. Each credit allows your blog to be read by other members once.I actually prefer the interface in BlogAzoo more than BlogExplosion, coz it loads faster and the 'click-through-numbers' only shows when the timer is up - so you won't accidentally click it too soon.Oh, I actually don't know what the numbers are called, so I simply call it 'click-through-numbers'. To ensure each blog is appropriately read, and to prevent spam (or machines clicking for you to earn credits without really reading other people's blogs), they have a set of random numbers and an instruction to click on one of the numbers to proceed with next blog.I still use both BlogExplosion and BlogAzoo, coz the communit

Blogitive
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Another blog advertising program available for bloggers - Blogitive. This program focuses on writting for advertisers' web releases. After signed-up, you will need to visit the site to get updated on the available web releases. You may take the offers and have 2 days to write and submit the URL. I'd say 2-day is pretty long, but the web releases are not easy to write. They usually need you to do some research by visiting the sites to find out more.As for me, I don't really like the topics offered in Blogtive. I've only taken 2 offers. The other topics are less relevant to my blogs, so I just watch money passes by... ;)Maybe these topics suits your liking? Check it out lah!Oh! Do they really pay (since they are still beta)? Yes, I've received my payments for the two posts already.

Blog Exchange
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Actually, a lot of people misunderstood the blog exchange concept. After they registered with BlogExplosion or BlogAzoo, they just leave and expect people read their blog after that.It doesn't work like that! You need to read other people's blog through the blog exchange site, to earn credit. Then, in return, other people will read your blog - one visitor for one credit earned. And yes, although your blogs are read via the blog exchange site, it is still counted as your traffic.Depending on how 'hardworking' one is, I can double my site traffic on those days that I am 'somewhat hardworking'. :)

Hit$4Pay
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I've been introduced to this commercial email advertisement program called Hit$4Pay.How does it work? It is pretty simple. You can earn a monthly check of 3 ways:Signup Reward: Earn $10 in your Hits4Pay account as soon as you signup for a free account. Direct Income: Earn $0.02 for each advertiser's email that you read from them.Referral Income: Refer to a few friends and earn $0.01 for each email that they read.Any account that has reached the minimum payout of $25.00 or more will be zeroed out on the 1st of every month, and checks mailed out on or before the 15th.In summary, we get paid by reading some commercial emails. I guess it is the same way like blog exchange, where we earn traffic by reading some blogs. :)I guess the best thing for this program is, you don't need to have a blog to earn this side income.I've signed up and will be trying this for a month. Will report this again after 1 month, to see how much I can earn. Can't compare to others at this stage.

How To Reduce Alexa Ranking
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Nowadays advertisers like to use Alexa score to determine whether a blog has good traffic or not. In PPP, they don't just look at PR alone now. There are discussions on how to improve Alexa scroe. It is too technical for me, but there is a way to help improve one's score. For PR, you want it to be as high as possible. Bu for Alexa score, you want it to be as low as possible. It was said that a lot of our site's visit is not counted in Alexa. To make sure Alexa records your site's visits, you need to make a redirect. To do this, you need to change your site's URL slightly when you are leaving it in comments, forum, or even building it in your other blogs. The redirect code is as follow (remove the "_" sign to make it work - I have to keep the space so that the code can appear to you now):For LinksThe SuzetteFor Commentshttp://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?www.thesuzette.comFor ForumThe SuzetteResult => The SuzetteThanks to

Denied by Hit$4Pay
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I am extremely disappointed by Hit$4Pay. I've signed up 2 days ago, got someone signed up under my account, i.e. I will get paid as referral. And then, my account was deleted/denied. They accussed me for infringement of their TOS. They said I signed up for more than an account with my PC.That is completely nonesense. I am the sole user of my notebook. My notebook is password protected which need a chipped smart card to activate. It is all the time in my possession. And I have only signed up as suzette18, which I was still waiting for their approval. On what basis can they accusse me for that?!I am very disappointed with this, and I lost faith on it. Even if they now approve my application (I've just sent an email to appeal), I don't know whether I should put any effort to read those commercial emails or not. I'm afraid after I put in those effort, they suddenly accusse me for thing sthat I've never done and terminate my account without paying me for the efforts. This is really nones

My Sponsored Post Payments
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I am actually not very active in writing sponsored posts. I just did a quick review on the sponsored posts that I've done. I don't write regularly. Sometimes a couple of posts a day, some times I don't take any opportunities for a week at all.I am also very choosy. Unless I like the topic very much (like the avatar thingy), I would not take low pay posts, so I can end up not writing any sponsored ones. But then, I'm still very happy with the amount I got now, via the 4 sources (mostly from PayPerPost). This is just to record down how much I've been paid. This is NOT a sponsored post, I've missed one recently on this similar topic though...PayPerPost Dec 21.75 Jan 176.27 Feb 112.00 (some not paid yet) Mar 65.50 (will be paid, if all approved)Blogvertise: 22.5Blogitive: 10Creamaid: 4I have only taken 2 Creamaid, 2 Blogitive and 3 Blovertise tasks. I guess if I am more 'hardworking', I might earn more. But my main job is more important, so can't spend too much

New Segmentation in PayPerPost
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Recently PayPerPost has introduced a new segmentation system and a whole bunch of new stuff. In that segmentation system, advertisers can specify the type of bloggers or blog sites that they want. Advertisers can also select high traffic or highly rated sites, based on 3 measures:Google Page Rank (PR) - rated from 0 to 10. For example: this site has a PR 2, Suzette has a PR4. Higher is better.Alexa Score - this is like a ranking system, smaller is better.Blogger's tack rating - PPP posties are given a tack rating of 0 to 5. Higher is better. It is rated based on the quality of posts written. To me, blogger's tack rating is like a reward for our effort spent in writing good posts. Some bloggers simply write some stuff and add the required links. It would be unfair to be grouped and rewarded the same as these bloggers! I'm very happy about this rating!Of course, if an advertiser selects a specific 'difficult' or 'niche' segment, they will have to pay accordingly. For example, if a b

Health Insurance
2007-03-07 05:12:00
I have once did a research to find out how people select their health insurance plans. Is it surprising to you that most people sign up their plans with their agent friends?I, for once, also fell into that trap. We talked about supporting friends' career, we talked about trusting friends' credibility, we talked about contactability of our personal friends, etc.But we all forget one thing - how sustainable to rely on friends, who has just begun their career in that health insurance industry? How much do they know about different options and products? What is their motive to take up that career? My first health insurance policy was purchased through a uni-friend. My mom and husband also signed up with the same agent. After a year, she disappeared. Yes, literally disappeared. She is no longer contactable, not answering all her phones, not seen in campus, not getting in touch with any of our common friends - she doesn't have many friends afterall. After that 'disappearance' I

Tracking Your Site Traffic
2007-03-27 11:24:00
What tool(s) do you use to track your sites traffic? There are plenty of tools available. I've tried a few, and have finally stick to Statcounter for nearly 2 years already.I'm glad I made this choice, especially after knowing that they have recently turned down an offer from an advertiser (with a lot of $$$) to inlucde spyware cookies in all the members sites. It was shock to learn that another well known stats provider is allowing up to 9 cookies to be installed in the browser of every visitor that hits one of their member websites! The effect to the members (users of the tools) is bad. Our data and our visitors data would be transmitted to the third party advertiser without us knowing. In addition to that, it will make our site very slow to load.Very glad that Statcounter said no to this offer. I hope the folks in Statcounter stay firm at their principal, and will not be swayed at bigger sum of $$$$$$$ (who knows how much the advertiser will increase!).
