Nokia 6300 2007-02-08 04:13:30 I’ve got a new phone! My old phone kaput already, eventhough less than 2 years! I cannot hear with the earpiece. Have to switch on the loud speaker instead. Can you imagine how inconvenient I am in public?
My boss borrowed mine in Manila, after using it, asked me to replace sooner than the 2 years period - but of course can only claim the RM800 subsidy later.
DH bought Nokia
6300 for RM1050. It is VERY NEW in the market. He bought on Monday, and it was only the 3rd day of its life here!
This phone is very slim and light. It is only 13mm thick and weights 90g! The display is very clear with high pixels
I like the flat keypads and the stainless-steel covers. It feels very good and solid on the hand, unlike my old Nokia - very plasticky feeling and fragile.
The phone has a 2 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom, which performs much better than my old one (only 1.2). Also, comes in the original package is a 512MB microSD card, upgradable to 2GB (I only had a 34MB
I've Been Tagged: The Z List 2007-02-09 07:50:32 I’ve been tagged by LovelyMummy! This Z list is supposed to help boost our incoming link counts, and eventually our blog’s ranking will be improved. So, if you need more traffic and wanna increase your page rank, try this out!
**Instructions**
The premise is simple: Write a post, and copy and paste my list from below into it. Make sure the links are active and correct. If your blog is on that list, remove it because your post isn't about self-promotion. Don't worry, because if your name is on mine, it's on others and will spread. Add your favourite deserving blogs to the top of the list (not compulsory). Publish the post. People will notice the incoming links, and hopefully write their own z-list posts. The result will be that we all get more links pointing to our blogs, and more readers - got to be good!

Getting Slower On Sponsored Posts 2007-02-09 02:37:37
Wonder if you notice or not, I have cut down quite a lot in my sponsored posts. This is partly due to my workload that has returned (finally! after the reconnection with my boss in Manila 2 weeks ago). Other reason is because I am getting lazy and less motivated.
Well, even for that slow pace (like 2-4 posts a week), I have been paid $230 and expecting another $100 once the posts reach 30 days old. Can just imagine the amount I might get, if I am as hardworking as other bloggers, who take up to the maximum allowed posts. Imagine, I have 3 blogs (2 approved, 1 just submitted), if I take the maximum, I would have 6 posts a day, 30 a week (5 days per week). Wow, my income would be at least 5 to 6 folds current. No wonder there are bloggers working so hard on this!
I don’t think I’d go to that extent no matter how hardworking I am. I am actually quite selective of the topics. If you check on my side bar, you’ll find a Blog Honor Pledge. I pledged that
Review My Posts 2007-02-10 15:54:15 Have you noticed this button in my recent posts?
What does it mean? It means, if you write in your blog to review any of my posts with the icon, you will be paid - not by me, but by PayPerPost.
It is the latest feature in PPP, and I believe this is their latest recruitment drive to get more posties for their advertisers.
It benefits a few parties. PPP get new posties, you and I get paid, and it also helps to promote my blog too!
Very easy to participate. You just need to click the icon and it will bring you to a page to sign-up with PPP. After signing up, you write a post to review mine, then submit the URL of that post. By doing that, you will be paid $7.50, and I will also receive the same amount. Very simple, isn’t it?
If you are new to PPP, why not try it now? You don’t have to write anything against your view. Just write your honest comments about my posts, and provide a link back, then you will be paid.
I’m not sure whether this is applicable f
Isabel's Frist Tooth 2007-02-10 10:22:20 I forgot to write this yesterday. On Thursday 8 Feb, Isabel
’s first tooth popped out! No wonder she was very restless these few days, and had some light fever! I first thought it was caused by her head knocked on the floor (Ian pushed her too much).
She is now trying to get used to the feeling of having new tooth. She keeps using her toungue to push and feel the tooth. Salivar keeps falling down, aiyaik, very dirty and ugly took. But then, that is part and parcel of growing up.
Her second front tooth is getting ready to pop, I think anytime from now.

Velcro Baby Isabel 2007-02-12 16:29:28
‘Velcro
Baby’ was the term BabyCentre describes Isabel
’s current stage.
She is so clingy to me. She can play happily and quietly with DH and others, then… when I appear, her eyes will be fixed on me. At the same time she’ll make some pittieous sounds.
When I don’t pick her up, she’ll whine. And when I go into another room/toilet, she’ll cry even more pittieously! She’ll cry and cry until I finally pick her up, then she’ll lean her head on my shoulder –> very ‘teh’/manja and touching.
Well, I believe any mothers would love their children to be attached to them. Well, I mean, attached to the mothers than to anyone. Right?
But because I am often away for business trips, my feeling is really mixed. I am very happy but also worried about her especially when I’m away (like now! I’m in Jakarta!). I wonder hoe she’s coping?
On the other hand, Ian is also getting more attached to me
Crowne Plaza Hotel, Jakarta 2007-02-13 16:13:40 I guess I might be regarded as a very demanding hotel guest. I always make very weird requests.
Wherever I travel, I always ask for 2 things - freezer to freeze my ice packs (and sometimes expressed breastmilk - EBM), and chiller (fridge) to keep my fresh EBM.
I’ve been doing this for nearly 3 years without getting any problem. I’ve done this in Bangkok, Chiangmai, Beijing, Shanghai, Manila, Houston, New York, Chicago, KotaKinabalu, Penang, Kuantan, KL, etc. All no problem.
But today I nearly cried here in Crowne PlazaHotel
, Jakarta
. Previously in Mulia Hotel I didn’t have any problem.  I am extremely disappointed with today’s event.
I actually parked my ice packs with concierge since yesterday noon. This morning when I tried to retrieve them, I waited for 40 min, and at the end I gave up. I left without my ice packs.
Before I left, I told the receptionist (no other concierge!), wanted them to make a record on this, as my tag already taken.

Things I Like 2007-02-15 03:29:15 I’m being tagged again. Got this from Baby Darren. You just need to tell wher you got the tag from, list down the things that you like, and pass on to any bloggers that you want to. Pretty simple. Alright, here are the things that I like:
Sleep - unfortunately this is a luxury now, after having 2 kids
Eat - with my job, I do get to eat a lot of nice (and expensive) food, for free.Â
Short Trips Are Always Nice 2007-02-16 10:38:02 I actually quite like short business trips. Chinese like to say: short separation is even nicer than newly wed. This is quite true.
When I returned from Jakarta on Wed, I went straight to MIL’s house to pick up my kids. They both wanted my hug.
It started with Isabel. The moment I entered the house, she crawled towards me, and made piteous sound.
When I sat down on the floor, she crawled onto me. Let me hold her horrizontally (she never liked that position, but she wanted that day!).
After played with her for a while, I let her go. Then, Ian finished eating his orange, he quickly came over and wanted the same treatment - being hold horizontally!
Isabel saw the brother held by me, crawled to me again, wanted me to hug. So, I hold my two children, one on each hand. I really enjoyed the feeling of being wanted. Read more:Short

PPP Tack Rating 2007-02-21 16:58:06 What is your PayPerPost’s tack rating? Mine is 4 of 5. I didn’t know it means anything until lately. After the segmentation, there are opportunities that are opened to a specific rated bloggers. And being rated 4 also allows me to have all my posts automatically approved too!
I’m not sure how easy or difficult to be rated 4 of 5, but I simply feel good as I assume it is not that easy. Read more:Rating
Medela PIS for Traveling? 2007-02-22 10:58:44 After my sister bought me the Medela PumpInStyle, I have been using it everyday until my business trips started.
In my trip to Manila, I didn’t bring it. I only brought Avent. When I was there, I missed the PIS so much that I’ve decided to bring it to Bangkok the week after Manila. It was a short 2D1N trip.
This trip with PIS proved disasterous. Arrived at the airport, I wanted to pump in the lounge. Then remembered I forgot to buy batteries (for usage without electric outlets). It uses 10 AA batteries, and I spent RM35 just on the batteries in the airport.
Just when I first used it in Bangkok office, after I plugged in the adaptor, before switching on, I heard a loud explosion and smelled something burnt. Okay, now the adaptor is gone! Through out the whole trip I had to use the batteries.
Not only that, when I was back to KL, I checked with all shops, the adaptor cannot be repaired. To buy one, it costs c. RM130!!!
I’ve delayed the purchase, trying Read more:Traveling
Old Childhood Friend 2007-02-23 10:43:23 WT is my long ‘disconnected’ old childhood friend. We were best friends since I was 7 (or even 6) years old. We were neighbours and went to the same primary school. The last time we met was at least 2 or 3 years ago. It was too long that I cannot remember when!
I met her husband once, before they got married, and once during her wedding dinner.
Before she ‘found’ her husband, it was very difficult for her to find a boyfriend. She was a very shy girl (as I remembered), doesn’t mix around well. Well, she actually first ‘met’ her husband online. Her husband is a Singaporean. Now, she is married and staying in Singapore, that’s why it is very difficult and rare for us to meet up.
I didn’t know online dating works. This is a life example! In my previous post, I have shared a survey results on this topic. I don’t really believe only 4% of Singaporeans ever used the Internet to find love, coz I personally know o Read more:Childhood
Travel with EBM 2007-02-23 02:58:45 After the recent bomb scares using milk bottles, my breastfeeding journey is getting more and more difficult.
Last year returning from Chicago was already challenging, but still manageable as I could check in the frozen ebm (expressed breast milk) with dry-ice (as in frozen CO2). All my other trips last year within Asia was okay, without liquid ban policies.
But then, just as I started traveling again this year, my first trip was faced with my first liquid ban, when I returned from Manila.
I least expected this, and didn’t get myself prepared. Luckily the way I traveled allowed me to immediately check in all my luggages and ebm, and luckily it was a short haul.
How did I do that? I normally travel light with only half of my luggage filled with clothes (even for 4D trip). Nowadays, to transport my ebm, I carry 2 small cooler bag/box. I put one cooler box inside my other half of luggage bag. In that cooler box, I line the sides with ic packs.
Just in case my chilled ebm Read more:Travel

Klang Community eSpace 2007-02-28 21:32:38 I am very excited to find this opportunity in PPP today.
When I first saw the opportunity, I was thinking: Is this Klang
the Klang in Malaysia? Yes! It is! This is the Klang Community eSpace, For Klang People.
I am from Klang Valley too, that’s why I am excited to see this. It is actually a forum for Klang people only. If your hometown is in Klang, or if you are currently staying in Klang, why don’t you sign up this forum. Even if you are not from Klang, to find out more about Klang it is worth checking out at the forum too.
The topics covered are very broad: entertainment, shopping, eating places, healthcare, family/parenting, events, etc. you just name it!
They are currently running a very simple contest: just contribute maps of the areas in Klang - the maps best describing the areas will be the monthly winner. This month’s sponsored gift is Lydia Teh’s new book, “Honk! If you’re a Malaysian”. I want that book too, and I h
Marriott Karachi – Extremely Bad Experience 2007-02-28 20:38:03 Imagine this:
You made hotel reservation a month in advance. Midnight, upon arrival at a security heightened country, you found out that you have to share room with a complete stranger, and you have no other options but to accept it. Not only that, you have to sleep in the living hall on a made-shift bed, and yet expected to pay around RM700 ($200) for that.
This happened to me, in Marriott
Hotel, Karachi
. This is the most ridiculous thing that I’ve ever encountered in my travel life.
I arrived Marriott Karachi at 2:30am KL time. I was exhausted, desperately needed a shower and a good sleep. But upon arrival, I was told that the hotel was overbooked, and they have simply put me and another lady stranger in the same room, without seeking our agreement. Though this lady comes from the same country and same company as me, I do not know her at all! Furthermore, I need my privacy to express my breastmilk, and this has completely infringed my privacy rights!

Sequal of the Marriott Hotel Story 2007-03-07 07:57:31 I copied the whole content of my previous post to my travel blog as it is, for 2 reasons: 1) to align the topic (travel related); 2) to get the story more spread out.
I didn’t expect that post to get international attention, particularly from the Karachiite (the way they call themselves).
I posted it in my travel blog on 3 Mar. On Monday, it caught someone’s attention who then linked it in their metroblog. Wow, after that, my blog’s traffic went up, and visitors’ profile also changed. It used to be USA and Malaysia skewed. Yesterday, half of my visitors came from Pakistan. Traffic was 5-fold.
Actually I felt bad, coz these people are very nice and patriotic. They love their country so much, and have good reasons to be concerned on the impact of my experience to their country’s image.
Here, I can safely claim that my experience has not affected my view of their country in general. However, I do admit that some people will generalize based on Read more:Marriott

PostieCon 2007 2007-03-07 07:10:14 When I read about this blog conference, I got excited for a while. I have an upcoming trip to the USA, and I thought: wow, maybe I can join this bloggers gathering!
But… when I read more, I got disappointed. They are having it much later than my USA trip. It is scheduled on 1st and 2nd of June, in Orlando, Florida. They are holding it in Orlando simply because it is a world renowned entertainment capital and a fun place to be. Ya, who would like to hold such exciting event in Houston? (no offend ya)
The theme for the conference is You’re A Rock Star. The goal is to introduce bloggers ways of improving their blogs and how to make it more profitable. They will be having individual presentations from excellent bloggers, and group discussions too. It sounds really too fun to be missed.
If you have a blog that you are proud of, e.g. high traffic, high income, lots of comments/WOM, good contents, etc, why don’t you check it out at their site. They are l Read more:PostieCon
Romantic Holiday 2007-03-08 04:17:28 Ever since my first pregnancy 4 years ago, DH and I have not got any personal holidays with just the two of us. Partly because I am reluctant to go for a holiday which I have to worry about expressing breastmilk and bring them back. In fact, the though of it, makes the trip less romantic.
Anyway, I do have a plan now: once Isabel reaches 2 years old, I will wean her completely, and I definitely want a payback on this. I am in the lookout for a romantic holiday, just the two of us.
My first thought was Pangkor Laut Resort. It is expensive, but worth for that experience. Furthermore, taking the money we ’saved’ in the past 4 years and plus 1 of the coming year, we should be rewarded this ‘expensive’ holiday.
My second thought is on a more exotic getaway — Cruising the Caribbean. I’ve checked it out, the cost for 7 night cruise on full board, pre- and post-cruise nights in the Dorchester Miami and Flights to Caribbean with Virgin Atlantic, c Read more:Holiday
Busting out with Confidence, Style, & Class 2007-03-09 16:48:29 Are you the type with an average body frame (or even smaller than average), but with unusually large McB (D-G cup sizes)?
Do you find it difficult in getting clothes that fits your bust, but too loose for the other parts? I am currently having that problem. I have an average (or small) body, but my McB expanded after delivered 2 children. Due to continuous breastfeeding, they are still…
I tried to buy a gown to wear in my sister’s wedding tomorrow, but very difficult! Top and bottom just doesn’t come in the right combination!
Here is a solution with a new garment size specially made for people like this. But they don’t sell gown, and if they do, I still prefer to try on, coz gowns are different when you wear them!

Maternity Clothes 2007-03-09 16:31:11 My first set of maternity clothes was ugly. I didn’t know that there are so many options available. I bought those ‘conventional’ ones, which were bulky and made me look big even when I wasn’t that big. I spent so much money on those ugly maternity clothes, which could only be worn for that few months.
During my second pregnancy, I bought some ’sexy’ maternity clothes, mostly dresses with speghatti stripes or tube top. I discovered a cheaper alternative to covert jeans into maternity jeans (pic) that could save some money. But, they don’t look nice either. I contemplated for a while, didn’t go for it.
I didn’t buy those rubber maternity jeans too, coz they are just too ugly. I just didn’t wear jeans…, in fact I lost my mood to dress up!
If I had come across these new hip & cool b-buckles below, during my pregnancy, I would have been more excited and keen to dress up! Look, these b-buckles are so trendy and young. Read more:Maternity

Ian’s Talk 2007-03-09 15:01:50 MIL’s house is in front of a train station. Ian has been bugging me that he wants to sit in the trains.
Last night, to keep him quiet, I told him he needs money to ride the train, and asked him whether he has any money. He kept quiet for a while, and he responded:
Mama, why I am so tall already I still don’t have money?
———–
As mentioned before, Ian is our family’s safety embassador. He would protest if any of us haven’t buckle our seatbelt if the driver wants to move.
2 nights ago, he insisted that the maid hasn’t buckled her seatbelt, whilst she actually was using the middle seat’s 2-point lap belt.
So, I explained to him that kakak used the lapbelt.
He then concluded:
Oh, mama, my one is body belt. Mama also use bodybelt. :D
Spams 2007-03-22 06:25:03 I really hate spams, especially lately. I got an average 650 spam comments per day. When the volume was low, I could still go through and identify ‘human comments’ and de-spammed them.
But as the spam volume increases, I find it hard to screen through them. When I travel or over the weekend, cannot check daily, I can get 3-4k spams.
I have no choice but to delete them all without screening through. If you have left some comments here and don’t see it appearing, even after I posted something new (means that I am online), do let me know by email so I can check carefully.
Apologise if I accidentally deleted your comments here…
Over Slept! 2007-03-22 06:20:48 Meeting starts at 9am today, 30 min later than yesterday. I planned to wake up at 7am, 30 min refresh and change, 30-45 min express, then have breakfast in meeting room 45 min before it starts.
At 3am (4pm KL time), I woke up by a phone call (forgot to switch to silent mode). Probably got too tired after that… I slept so soundly and didn’t even wake up to the toilet like usual. And of course I skipped the night expression.
Suddenly I heard a lot of noices outside, woke up - 8:35 am already! I only managed to empty 1 side of McB, and slightly on the other side, then got to rush into my meeting. So engorged that I worried I might get blocked ducks. Luckily not.
Avent Isis didn’t work well for me lately. Probably I am too used to my Medela PIS, somewhat I don’t feel the suction when I use AI. Not sure if the pump got problem or I just can’t get letdown. I hate expressing now. Takes 45 min to empy both sides! And the yield is so little.
Coming Back 2007-03-22 06:06:57 Sorry for the long silence. I have been busy with work and travel these couple of weeks. My sister got married last Saturday, for the two Saturdays we had events arround her Wedding - two dinners plus one morning tea ceremony. Last week I had 3 days conference downtown, and this week I am in Houston, Texas. Can you imagine how busy I am?
I know I still owe many people their tags. I’m very sorry about it, but I still remember them! I will do that once I get back to KL and have some time. Meanwhile, I would like to use my little precious time to update my blog on latest exciting stuff first, like my sister’s wedding, my recent trip stories (probably in my travel blog), etc. Will do that separately…
Improving Ranking 2007-03-27 07:37:07 After returning from my ’short break’, almost everyone is putting effort in improving their blogs: Google PR, Technorati and Alexa. Thanks to PPP’s segmentation, bloggers are now putting more effort to improve their sites, rather than just write for $$ without much contents!
Anyway, msau from SQKiki Simple Tech, My Home Recipe, SQKiki’s Island and Fatty’s Wife Mumbling has just done some nice thing to me. She wrote a post that linked to all my 3 blogs. Kind of the same as what people pay for PPP posties to do, but she is doing this free for me. So, I am now doing the reciprocal.
If you want me to write about your blogs for free, let me know, and we can exchange links this way! I can spread out to my other blogs.
In fact, I am very amazed with the PR for all the msau’s blogs. They are PR3 or 4, and she has 4 blogs! As for me, managing 3 is too much. In fact, I only have resource to focus on this blog, a bit of my travel blog, and alm Read more:Ranking
So Many Blog Homeworks 2007-03-27 05:52:34 Being ‘dormant’ for a few weeks, and being extremely busy at work, I have got so many ‘homeworks’ waiting for my blogs.
Looks like lately there are some buzz in trying to increase technorati rankings in the group. Someone has developed some random blogrolls etc, and I’ve seen new links to my blogs. I owe these bloggers the favour, I will need to put their links here as well.
Other ‘homeworks’ are, meme! I actually don’t quite remember who has tagged me. I checked my Technorati page, but couldn’t find them, not sure why - I saw them 3 weeks ago, but now all gone. I vaguely remember a few, and here they are (will do in the coming weeks):

Random Blogroll Project 2007-03-28 04:55:20 Msau from SQKiki’s Simple Tech has recently initiated a project to creat our own ‘ring’. In this version of ring, those who are invited by msau, all sent her our blog’s URL and blog name. She and her guru then include all these blogs in a ring.
To reciprocate the effort in including your blog in the ring, you are required to install the codes in your site - very easy. Bloggers who install the codes will get a randomly generated 20 blogs displayed as their blogroll now. You can see that random bloroll at my sidebar. It is restricted to only 20, indeed very reasonable.
If you are interested to join this project, but not invited earlier, you may want to contact msau at her blog. Tell you what, my technorati ranking improved 40% after joining the club!
Update: msau asks that you visit the project here. After installing the script in your blog, leave a comment at that page or email her, then your blog will be included in the blogroll. Read more:Random
