Maurice Jones-Drew OWNS Shawne Merriman 2007-11-23 11:34:29 So last week in Jacksonville the Jags handled the Chargers in their week 11 game. The victory was a sub plot though. The big story was how Shawne Merriman got decked by Maurice
Jones Drew. Before you watch the video, lets look at the facts. Shawne Merriman is 6-4 and 272 [...]

s head football coach. It was a rough season which saw the Wolverines lose to Appalachian State and yet another defeat by Ohio State.
NFL Week 11 Wrap 2007-11-19 12:20:11 The Patriots are an evil that cannot be stopped right now. Last night they beat the Bill 56-10. Ridiculous. Tom Brady had five touchdown passes, four of them going to Randy Moss. The Patriots become the 10th team since 1970 to start out 10-0.
Garnetts got jokes! 2007-11-30 15:27:09 After the 45 Point beatdown that that Boston Celtics put on the New York Knicks last night, Kevin Garnett had some hilarious comments about the Knicks and about Craig Sager. I couldn’t stop laughing after this one.

Terrell Owens loves Popcorn 2007-11-30 14:54:15 After TerrellOwens
scored an easy Touchdown last night against the Packers, he did a very unique end zone celebration. He grabbed some popcorn from a guy and ate some. I guess he liked the show as much as we did. I’m really surprised that he didn’t get a 15 yard penalty for that one whatever. Check out the celebration.
Now I guess the popcorn must have been really greasy or something because he looked like he had butterfingers on this play.
He makes that catch 9/10 but Karma can be a bitch and it came back to him on that play.

NBA Wrap: Knicks get Clowned by the Celtics, is Quentin Richardson in impressed by them now? 2007-11-30 12:33:05
The Celtics and Knicks
are two of the NBA
’s proudest franchises. They both have great history but at this point they are going in opposite directions. Before their game on Thursday night, Knicks guard Quentin Richardson
had some comments about the Celtics and the big 3 there.
It’s not that big a deal to us… it’s like the media makes more of the big three and all of them. We’re no in awe of them. They ain’t won no championships.
Last I heard Q-Rich, you don’t have any rings either. Kevin Garnett stated that his comments were extra motivation for the team and it certainly showed. The Celtics were all over the Knicks winning 104-59 marking one of the worst losses you will ever see. Oh, The Humanity! At one point the Celtics were up by 52 points.
It’s been said before but I will have to say it again. The Knicks are a joke and honestly I don’t what it will take to get them back on track. Before the year started, people consi
NFL Wrap: The Cowboys take out Favre and the Packers 2007-11-30 11:35:26 Brett Favre
came into this game with an 0-8 Record against Dallas and his losing streak continued in this one with the Cowboys
defeating the Packers
37-27. The downpoint of the game for Favre was in the second quarter when he was hit as he was throwing by Nathan Jones and was also intercepted on the play. That may not have been so bad but he was also hurt in the process and did not return.
Aaron Rodgers replaced Favre. He struggled a bit on the first drive but in the end he showed that he was worth being drafted in the first round. Rodgers played stellar, going 18-26 for 201 yards and a TD. He also rushed for a few key first downs.
Tony Romo and Terrell Owens had monster games though both coming up with big plays. Romo went 19-30 for 309 yards and 4 TD’s while Owens had 7 catches for 156 yards and a touchdown. It would have been two touchdowns if it wasn’t for one of the stranger plays I’ve seen. Tony Romo found Owens wide open in the end zone. Owens bobbled
Packers vs Cowboys: Who is this game more important for? 2007-11-29 18:02:41 Tonights big matchup between the Cowboys
and the Packers
is by far the biggest game in the NFC. If you can see it. The NFL network is offering this game but it is only available with satellite companies and certain cable companies. The cable companies that offer this channel offer it on a higher tier of service, and guess what? It costs more money. More of cable companies monopoly but don’t get me started on that.
Back to the actual game. This game has huge playoff implications for both teams. Both teams are 10-1, leading their division and have home fields that would be tough to win at in the playoffs. This is probably the second most important game of the year (after Colts vs Patriots). Whoever wins this game gets a huge advantage because they will basically go two games up on the other for first place in the NFC. No one wants to go to Lambeau in January and I don’t see the Cowboys being able to beat them there. Just like I don’t see Brett Favre and the P
NHL Wrap: Blues top Buffalo and more 2007-11-29 12:38:17
Brad Boyes broke a tie with 58 seconds left, and Manny Legace made 20 saves in the streaking St. Louis Blues
’ 4-3 victory over the Buffalo
Sabres.
Mike Knuble had a goal and two assists to help the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Carolina Hurricanes 3-1.
Dainius Zubrus scores with 9:03 to play to help New Jersey beat Dallas, 4-2, extending the Devils’ winning steak to five and ending the Stars’ winning streak at six.
Mike Sillinger scored the go-ahead goal in the third period and then added the winner in the shootout to help the New York Islanders snap an eight-game losing streak against the Ottawa Senators with a 3-2 victory.
One thing went through Florida Panthers goalie Tomas Vokoun’s mind as he traded save after save with Washington Capitals goalie Olie Kolzig in a shootout that went on and on and on. The Panthers were able to come up with victory over the Capitals, 2-1.
Marian Gaborik scored his fourth goal in four games and the Minnesota Wild beat Phoe
NBA Wrap: Lebron’s short return to Detroit 2007-11-29 12:06:17
In Lebron
James’ first game back in Detroit
since dropping 48 in a double overtime game last season, Lebron had an extremely mediocre return.
James sprained his left index finger in the second quarter and did not return. Without James, the Cavs didn’t stand much of a chance getting blown out 109-74.
The Pistons downplayed thoughts that this was a revenge win. “A win is a win,” said Richard Hamilton, who led Detroit with 18 points. “LeBron is a big part of their team, but they’ve still got five guys with an NBA
jersey on the court.”
Around the League
Yao Ming had 31 points and 13 rebounds, helping the Houston Rockets beat the Phoenix Suns 100-94 Wednesday night for their third straight victory.
Josh Childress scored six points in a 13-2 run midway through the final quarter and the Atlanta Hawks broke open a close game to take a rare 96-80 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Jose Calderon has 13 points and 10 assists to help Toronto top Memphis
MLB Rumors: Rays close to dealing Young for Garza, Where will Johan Santana end up? 2007-11-28 18:42:06 Rays and Twins Close to a deal
The Minnesota Twins and the Tampa Bay Rays are close to making a six player deal that would include Delmon Young and Matt Garza
.
This would be a great deal for both sides because the Twins recently lost Outfielder Torii Hunter to the Angels and need to replace his hitting in the outfiend. The Rays, who have a surplus of outfielders, are in bad need of pitching. Both of these players are great prospects and if Delmon Young can keep his temper under control he has all the tools to be a great player.
Young, 22, hit .288 with 13 home runs and 93 RBIs in his first full major league season. Garza, 24, was 5-7 with a 3.69 ERA in 15 starts for the Twins in 2007.
Delmon Young is probably best known for throwing his bat at an umpire in his minor league days. Check it out.
In his defense, the ball was way outside…

Auburn Player gets bit by a Dog 2007-11-28 17:10:29 As if football players didn’t have enough possible injuries to worry about when they step on the football field, Auburn
DB was bitten by a security Dog against their game last weekend against Alabama. Maybe The dog was a Bama Fan, I dont know but check this one out.
Powers was ok besides the minor battle scar:
After successfully defending a long pass during the fourth quarter, Powers was bitten on his left hand by a police dog stationed beyond the end zone. The sophomore celebrated by mimicking the referee’s signal for an incomplete pass, which the dog interpreted as an aggressive act.
“I saw blood coming out of my glove. I started panicking,” Powers said. ” I was looking toward the sidelines and I was screaming, ‘The dog bit me,’ the next three plays. When I went into the training room I was like: Do I need a rabies shot? Then I thought about it and it is a federal dog. I’m sure he’s the cleanest dog in America. I’ll be sure to wash it out real good.”

Forbes releases most valuable teams, it may surprise you 2007-12-07 16:27:41 Forbes released a comprehensive breakdown of the most valuable teams
in the NBA this week, you can find it here and here.
The Knicks are the most valuable team in the NBA, go figure. I was surprised at first but after thinking about, I’m not that surprised. First of all they play in New York. More money goes in and out of New York then anywhere. The Yankees could win 50 games from now until the end of time and they would still sell out every game.
The second reason is that they are one of the NBA’s most storied franchises. Willis Reed carried the Knicks on his back on one leg in 1970. One of the most classic moments in sports history.
The third reason is Knicks fans are extremley loyal. Don’t ever try to tell a cocky New York sports fan that his team is garbage, the joke of the NBA, or that you question how that would do against your JV high school team. Knicks fans aren’t tryin to hear it. They will support their team to the end. No matter what.

Coaches and players mic’d up good thing? 2007-12-07 15:46:22 David Stern is willing to try anything to boost ratings. The latest thing that they are trying in the NBA is making coaches wear mics during the game so that fans can listen on timeouts and such. Sounds like a good idea in theory but many players and coachs aren’t feelin it.
Former NBA coach Jeff Van Gundy had a classic reaction. “You’re kidding me,” said Van Gundy. “And head coaches are really going to have to do TV interviews during games?”
Phil Jackson is another coach that didn’t like the idea of it:
“I’m going to stick my foot right in it, too,” Jackson said. “I wasn’t at the league meetings with the coaches this year, and I’m very disappointed in my comrades for rolling over on this so easily.”
“It’s going to be real hard on us coaches,” he said. “We do things in private. It’s an inner sanctum. For people to be in the inner sanctum, where emotions are high … it’s big brother, it’s very big brother. It’s ver Read more:Coaches
NFL Wrap: Todd Collins leads Skins to a win 2007-12-07 15:24:43 So Last night Todd Collins
came for the Redskins to replace an injured Jason Campbell. He also led the Redskins to a much needed win. That’s right I said Todd Collins. Yeah, I didn’t know who he was either
After not having much practice time this week after attending the funeral for their fallen comrade Sean Taylor, the Skins
got a huge victory 24-16.
At 6-7 the Redskins are still very much in the playoff picture in the extremely weak NFC. Honestly, the Bears (5-8) still have an outside shot but you have to think that they can’t lose anymore games.

Brian Westbrook owns fantasy football owners 2007-12-17 20:31:54 If your a fantasy
owner and you have Brian
Westbrook on your team you were probably pulling your hair out when you saw him stop at the 1 yard line yesterday instead of getting the touchdown against the Cowboys yesterday. I was actually on the other side of this though and it worked out for me. If Terrell Owens was to get 13 more yards I would have lost my semi-final round in the playoffs. Because of Westbrook I’m in the finals! I’m sure everyone else is not as pleased though.

Phil Dawson makes some crazy Field Goals 2007-12-17 17:30:03 Yesterdays game in Cleveland featuring the Browns and the Bills looked more like an image out of the ice age than a football game but despite the harsh conditions they still played the game. Cleveland won the game 8-0. This included two field goals by Phil Dawson
. With crazy snow and wind he was actually able to hit a 48 yarder, off the crossbar again. Check out the field goal:
