My New Blog Design
2007-11-24 11:41:00
Today I´ve finally changed my blog´s template (as you may have seen ;-) from the old cluttered design to this one. I must admit, it took me more time than I first thought, but I hope you´ll like it anyway.Let me explain you some of the steps involved in doing this makeover. Maybe it will help you doing a redesign too, if you´re feeling your own blog doesn´t look too good (as my old design was). The first thing I´ve done was changing the template from a fluid width to a static width, optimized for screen resolutions from 1024x768 and above (notice, you can even watch this blog on lower resolutions, you only have to scroll a bit ;-) Therefore I´ve chosen the "Thisaway" template provided from Blogger. But this template was only a 2 column one, but I wanted to have 3 columns to have more room for my links etc., so I asked Google how to change it. I found a nice blog that deals entirely with customizing Blogger blogs. With their help I managed it within minutes to have a nice 3 column

Free Webmaster Tools for Checking Your Blog
2007-11-22 13:20:00
Because I´m currently working on a new blog design (you can see my work-in-progress here), I´ll also have to keep an eye on some search engine optimisations (SEO).Basically SEO can be divided into two categories, on-page optimisations and off-page ones. On-page optimisations for example include all work done at your blog´s Html code, e.g. setting right keywords an meta tags, validating Html and CSS code or tweaks to let your site content appear at the topmost position in your source code. Off-page optimisations for example include managing backlinks to your blog, choosing the right link texts and deep- and crosslinking your posts to get higher search engine rankings. The main goal for doing some SEO, is to increase your rankings in the search engine results pages (SERP) from well-know search engines like Google (let´s see how long they will be...) or Yahoo and MSN.So I thought to take a look especially on my off-page optimisations, including rankings in different search engines an

New Blog Design On The Way
2007-11-20 15:42:00
I just want to let you know that I´m currently working on my blog template. I felt that the current design isn´t the best and I must admit, I never really liked it. You can see my current progress on a testblog I created just for my work. I´ve done this because I can test out new features without changing my original layout, so I have kind of a backup if something goes wrong. I hope I´ll finish those changes within the next days and I´m sure you´ll see when the new blog design is online.Regards,Querblogger

Drive Traffic to Your Blog with BlogCatalog
2007-11-19 14:13:00
If you want to become successful with your blog, you need people that do actually read all your posts (and sometimes you weird thoughts ;-). In other words, you need to drive traffic to your blog, not only because that you want readers for it, but also because you can monetize your content better. Traffic is like the holy grail, especially if you want to make money online. Most adverts that show up on your blog rely on either page impressions or click through rates, the more visitors you have, the better those adverts perform and bring you money.Because this blog is still very young, I don´t have the best traffic rates yet (I usually get around 30 to 40 unique visitors each day). Most of my visitors come from the free traffic exchange called Linkreferral, directly followed by Google Search and some backlinks from comments I posted on other blogs. Although I´m very happy with the actual traffic rates, I think there´s room for more. Therefore I searched for some new ways for giving my

Google Adsense Ban Update
2007-11-19 13:48:00
In my last post I mentioned that I mailed Google for giving me answers about why my Adsense account got deactivated. Today I received a response. And I must say, I´m not really happy with it. The answer was short and a bit "meaningless", they said "...my account involves a risk to our Adwords customers...". That´s all?! They didn´t gave me a single reason for the ban from their Adsense program.I won´t go any deeper into the details here, I just want to point out that I´ll stay independent from Google Adsense anyway, because there are plenty of other blog monetizing services out there. But feel free to give me some comments, especially if you got banned too. I really would like to know if there were other people having the same "problems" with Google Adsense.See you later!Querblogger

A Nice Google Adwords Coupon
2007-11-18 13:55:00
Over one week ago I got banned from Google Adsense without knowing the real reasons for this. I assumed it was because of using the traffic exchange Linkreferral, but til today I´m not sure if this was really the cause for that ban. I´ve sent Google an email asking them what where the reasons for banning me, but til today I haven´t received a response (it´s no problem so far because for the moment I have other ways for monetizing my blog).Yesterday I cleared my letter-box and found a really big envelope with 6 colored letters on it. It was from Google! So far I never got a mail from Google, so it kept me wondering what it would be. I opened the letter and found a coupon with following phrase on it: "Here is more traffic inside!".They actually sent me an Google Adwords coupon worth 50€ (around $73)! I immediately remembered the phrase "Here is more traffic inside!" and thought about the reasons for banning my Adsense account. Hehe, it seems I now know the real reasons for my ban

Some Legal Safety
2007-11-16 15:49:00
This shouldn´t be a post about making money online, it´s more about some legal issues that I need to work on within my blog. You wonder what I´m talking about? No problem, I´ll explain it.The first thing I´ll have to integrate into my blog will be some kind of Disclosure Policy. I´ve seen this on many blogs including the one from my friend Midwest. I feel I´ll need this by myself, not only because of helping my readers to understand what my blog is all about, but also because of some legal issues. In Germany, where I´m from, there are some laws that force me to provide some kind of disclosure policy. The second thing will be a Contact Information (or an about page if you will). I have to add this mainly because of some german laws (if I won´t add these information, I may even have to pay a penality). So I´ll write some short "about me" to safeguard against any legal problems. But it´ll probably be more helpful to my readers to let them know who I really am.The third and last

My Best Paying Programs
2007-11-14 12:56:00
Today I want to give you some information on my best paying sites I joined so far. This will probably help you to choose the right money making programs and it will also help me, because I get an overview about my earnings and if those programs are really worth all the work involved in it.I regulary visit all the programs I´ve joined the last month to make some money from them. Sometimes it´s a really time consuming task to click all those advertisings or to write articles and forum posts to make some cents, so it would be nice to see on what programs you should concentrate. So today I checked the statistics from each of these programs to see how much I´ve earned from them and, much more important, to see how much time is involved for doing this.It turned out that especially some of those PTC programs are really time consuming and won´t make you money fast. But you know, I don´t have too much time to complete my personal goal on making 100 bucks until April 1st 2008, so I have to

Short Update On Helium.com
2007-11-12 13:46:00
In one post some days ago I mentioned that I published my first article on Helium. The articles deals about some facts and features about the new Google Phone. Today I checked how my article performed so far, I got $0.10 within 4 days only for that one article. Compared to other sites where you can submit your writings for monetizing, it isn´t bad at all, it´s nearly two times more than what I earn on Triond for example (compared to one published article). This is mainly because Helium is much more popular than Triond and therefore generates more traffic to each article published there. More traffic means more ad revenues that you´ll get paid. Yes, I know, 10 Cents doesn´t sound too good, but you must notice that I only published one article so far.I will investigate Helium further while writing more articles there, then I can do some comparisons to Triond. If it turns out that I can make more money on Helium I´ll probably drop writing for Triond.Btw, you may have noticed my first

DiscountClick - Online Marketing Service
2007-11-12 12:31:00
You may know that it could sometimes be really hard to promote your blog or website. I see it by myself, you have to spend several hours each week on promoting your blog and get better search engine rankings. You can do several things like choosing the right keywords, gain backlinks from other websites or web directories, doing search engine optimisation or even some advertising. But what if you don´t have the time to do all those work? The short answer: Use an online marketing service like DiscountClick which will do all the hard work involved in promoting your blog/website.Let me give you a short review. The company actually offers three services from which you can choose from. Blogsvertise - Get Paid for Reviews
2007-11-09 14:30:00
Today I joined Blogsvertise, a really nice website that lets you earn revenues for completing tasks. Those task are actually really simple, all you have to do is to mention a product or service from an advertiser in one of your blog posts and you get paid.I´ll describe it in more detail:The first thing you have to do is to create a free account on Blogsvertise and submit your blog for approval. Your blog will be reviewed by the webmaster. If it gets approved you get the chance on making money (but notice, your blog must have some content on it to get approved). You´ll get tasks send to you via email, they show you a link to a product or service website. All you have to do is to integrate the link given to you 3 times in one of your blog post and mention the product/service (notice, you don´t have to endorse any service/product or review it). Your post should be around 60-100 words and you´ll get around $5- $15 per entry. After completing the task you have to submit your post for a

Today I got Banned from Google Adsense
2007-11-09 12:56:00
As I read my new mails today I noticed one from Google Adsense . I opened it and, tada, they banned me from their program ;-(The reasons for the banMy first thought was: "What have I done illegally?". I read the whole mail and they stated that I have generated some illegal clicks/impressions from advertisements that show up on my blog. So they had to ban me from my account, because "click fraud" is against their terms of service. My next thought was: "I know where those illegal clicks/impressions come from. Linkreferral!".Yes that´s right. Linkreferral is a traffic exchange program I joined at the end of October. It generates traffic for my blog if I visit other members site and review them. All in all a really nice and free way for driving traffic to your site/blog. But those programs are against the TOS of Google Adsense! Only "natural" clicks will count legally, but no "sponsored" clicks. What I will do against thisMy answer is that simple: nothing. I won´t do anything against this

New Article Released On Helium
2007-11-08 13:43:00
Yesterday I told you that I´ve written a new article about the new Googles Phone. I also told you I will submit it on Triond. I´ve done this, but the article was declined by the Triond team because there was an similar article already published (that happens from time to time...).So I searched for another paying publishing site and I found a nice one called Helium. I published my new gPhone article there without any problems. Helium is another nice site where you can write your articles on and get paid for that. It´s a bit different to Triond, because most times you´ll write your articles in channels that already have articles from other people (you write for a specific theme or niche and get a better chance for attracting readers).Helium makes you money from ad revenues, each article you submit will be surrounded with some advertisments (mostly Pay-per-click). When a reader clicks on an ad, you´ll get paid. The minimum payout is $25 and they pay you via Paypal (notice that Triond

A New Triond Article is On The Way
2007-11-07 15:08:00
Today I´ve written an article about some facts of the new Google Phone. At the moment I´m waiting for the article to get published on Triond. I hope within the next days it will be published and generate some views (and money!). My last article on 8 uncommon ways for using Google brought me around $0.80 in one week, that wasn´t that great, but I´m very happy about that. The best thing about Triond is, that all my articles I´ve written so far bring me some steady cents each day without doing anything. For this month I got $0.18 so far only from old articles I published earlier. Triond is definitely a good way to make money, if you write quality content it´s very likely that you´ll get some dollars each month. Triond actually pays it´s members (I got paid too), so don´t have fears about it being a scam.I will keep you updated on when my new articles is published!Ciao!Querblogger

Earn Money From Videos
2007-11-05 13:27:00
Today I will present you three video platforms that will pay you either for sharing videos you like or even for your own creations.Video platforms like Youtube or Google Video have a constantly increasing number of videos in their databases, everyday thousands of new video files are added to those big media hosts. It also seems, that there are many creative people (and also a lot of funny ones) which make quality videos but don´t receive a single cent for all their hard work. Maybe they have choosen the wrong platform for publishing their material? I think a great portion of them don´t really know how to get revenues for sharing their creativity. But it´s definitely possible to earn money with videos. There are some nice video platforms that pay its members for videos they produced themselfes and even for videos from other people (as you´ll see in the last paragraph).Earn Money from Embedded AdvertisementsThe first video sharing website I´ll talk about is Revver. New Tag Cloud Integrated
2007-11-04 15:04:00
I´ve just integrated a new tag cloud, that definitely looks much better than the old tag list (in my opinion). You can find it on the right side bar under my Triond widget. I had to dive a little into my blogger template code, but that wasn´t too hard, especially with the help of this great tutorial. Now I have more room to place nice multi-color blinking banners there ;-) No, just kidding. I really like those tag clouds, they look nice and give a better information about what´s actually hot content. So it may be helpful to you if you want to find your informations at least a bit faster.¡hasta luego!Querblogger

Blogrush Phase 2
2007-11-03 13:20:00
The last days the Blogrush team rolled out their Phase 2 update on their great blog syndication network. Basically Blogrush is a nice way to drive free trafic to your own blog. All you have to do is placing a widget onto your own blog, you can see mine on the top right side of this blog. Everytime your blog is viewed you´ll get some credits from this widget and those credits will automatically be used to show your blog link on other blogs who also have such a widget. The new Phase 2 offer some new features like a new dashboard and many new categories to place your blog in. The new dashboard features some nice graphs with your visitor statistics, infos about your referral network (you´ll get more credits if you have more referrals) and your last blog post and how often they were syndicated and viewed. All in all it looks incredibly good and it really works, I got visitors from Blogrush (not many because my blog is still too young, I think the traffic rates will rise the more popular my

A Nice Way to Drive Traffic to Your Blog
2007-11-01 15:16:00
In my last post I mentioned Linkreferral, a nice site that drives traffic to my blog. I want to tell you some of the features this site offers and how easy it is to drive some traffic to your blog.Linkreferral is basically a traffic exchange, but it offers some more nice features. If you join the site you are able to visit other members sites, review them and post comments in a forum. All you have to do each day is visiting 30 sites, write 5 reviews, place one comment in the forums and, if you will, make one site your favorite. If you do so, you´ll get a better ranking in the huge site directory.A better ranking means more traffic to your own site. As far as I personally tested it, I got around 40 pageviews per day, nice free traffic. The best part is the review system, where you can read what other people are thinking about your site/blog. This is extremely helpful if you want to know how good your site performs and if it´s really worth all the efforts you put into it.Linkreferral a

First Month Report!
2007-10-31 13:29:00
The first month of my Making Money Experiment is over now and so far I´m very happy because I earned more than I imagined. I will now show you some statistic like my earnings or blog visitor counts for October.A lot of work was involved in building this blog and in trying to find all those money making opportunities that are actually worth to put my efforts in. At the moment I have 14 "income" streams which, put together, brought me 18 Dollars for the month October. That´s around $1.30 more than I would need each month to reach my goal in earning exactly $100.Before I will show you my earnings statistic I will point out that those earnings are only theoretical so far, because I didn´t got paid yet and I can´t say for sure if I will get paid from every site I´ve joined. So I hope the best to reach the payout limits and see my Paypal inbox fill within the next month. For all who can´t wait any longer, here´s the October earnings statistic:Triond:$0.94myLot:$0.33Adbux:$7.53Wordlinx

DealDotCom - One Deal Per Day!
2007-10-30 11:48:00
Today I found a very interesting website called DealDotCom. Basically it´s a site where you can buy online marketing products. The best part is that they only show deals, meaning they will have the lowest price for each product they show on their frontpage. Everyday they offer one product that lasts there for exactly 24 hours.DealDotCom seems to be no scam site, even John Cow has tested this site and got paid from them. Got paid you ask? Yes, the probably best part of this great website is its affiliate program. For each person you refer, you´ll get 35% sales commision and(!) 15% commissions from every second level affiliate you have in your downline. They will pay you via Paypal. So if you want to buy great online marketing products like software or ebooks, please visit DealDotCom, you won´t find a better price on the web! If you´re an expert in getting referrals it´s a must that you take a look at this new money making opportunity.

Short Update - Adbux Offers, Wordlinx Paid Mails, Subvert and Profit Tasks
2007-10-29 14:02:00
I have a short update just before the first month of my making money experiment ends. Nothing really big, but worth to mention.Adbux Offers As I´ve written in my last article, Adbux now comes with offers for which you´ll get paid. Today I´ve completed my second offer which brought me $3.06 just for joining another website. Together with my last offer, which brought me $2.70, I now have earned $5.76 for doing nothing really special, only for registering on two websites. I now have to wait until next month, then these earnings will go into my Adbux balance. I you haven´t already, you can join Adbux here.Wordlinx Paid MailsYesterday I got an email from Wordlinx with some infos about their new paid mail service. They told me that from now on everybody who receives their newsletter will automatically receive paid mails, which will bring up to $0.05 each. Notice, that you have to check the option for receiving such mails in your account settings. From now on one can get paid even more. Wo

Adbux - Now with Offers!
2007-10-26 10:01:00
The guys from Adbux have done it again! Beside clicking on ads, you now can make money for completing offers, a lot more than just some (micro)cents. As I checked my Adbux account yesterday, I was very surprised to see this silently introduced new feature (no, actually they mentioned it some weeks ago, but I didn´t realise that). You are now able to choose between regular paid ads and offers, with the help of a new drop-down menu at the top navigation bar.The Adbux team claims to have about 80 offers in 239 countries worldwide, so it likely that you´ll receive one of them. The amount of offers will definitely grow with time and it seems that there will be a huge income potential compared to just clicking some ads.How does it work? It´s easy. All you have to do is clicking the link provided with each offer and completing the registration or taking a survey (follow the instructions next to the offer link). After that you must click the submit button. Then it´ll take up to 3 days for g

Second Month Report!
2007-11-30 11:52:00
November is over now and I´m happy to show you my second month report on my progress with the Making Money Experiment. Unfortunately I haven´t earned as much as in October, but I hope I managed to get my blog working better for me in the future, because I´ve done some promotion like building backlinks or advertising that´ll keep me getting more visitors and therefore more money. My Novembers progress was more characterized by promoting my blog than making money from it (nevertheless, I´ve earned some bucks ;). I felt it was more import to actual make my blog a bit more popular than focusing only on my earnings. I also wanted to give my readers some more "eye-candy", so I ´ve developed a new blog design some days ago, because the old one was too ugly (yes, I really hated it :)Compared to my earnings in October, which were 18 Dollars, the November earnings are somewhat lower, I´ve only earned 13 Dollars. rssHugger - Promote Your RSS Feed
2007-11-28 15:34:00
Today I´ll give you some information about a nice service called rssHugger that´ll help you in promoting your RSS feed for getting more visitors to your blog.Yesterday my friend Midwest has already written a nice article about rssHugger, which remembered me to have a deeper look on this free service, because I´ve already heard about it some weeks ago but so far not realized how much it may help me in getting more visitors to my blog.Basically rssHugger will help you getting more exposure to your blog or website. The whole thing works like a viral marketing campaign, everybody can submit their blog to a huge Feed directory, which is actively promoted from even those people that submit their blogs there. Sounds a bit confusing? No problem, I´ll tell you more. You have to ways to submit your blog to the listings on rssHugger. How to Manage Your Ad Networks
2007-11-26 11:47:00
Today I´ll speak about 2 online services that enable you to manage your different ad networks on your site or blog. Both services are free and will help you to maximize your ad revenues. If you want to make money from your blog, it would be a good idea to place some advertisements on it. If one of your readers clicks on one of those ads, you´ll get revenues from some cents to even some dollars if you show profitable keywords. Besides Goolge Adsense, there are many different networks you can use to monetize your blog, be it Adbrite, AuctionAds, Yahoo Advertising etc...You could place a whole bunch of different ads on your blog to make some money from it. But the time will come where you´ll get into trouble managing all those networks. You´ll also want to know what performs best on your site or blog and brings you the highest earnings. So here come 2 nice and free services that´ll do most of the (maybe) hard work involved with it.1. ClickAiderAlthough ClickAider is still in its bet

Monetize Your Blog - Bidvertiser
2007-12-05 14:23:00
After my last article about Fair Ads Network I´ll now speak about Bidvertiser, another Pay-per-click advertising system you can use to promote your blog or website and to make money from showing those advertisements. The last days I was looking for more ways to monetize my blog or, in other words, to make a direct little income from my writings here. So far, the most time I´m involved with Get-Paid-To sites that make me some cents by clicking some ads or taking a free offer. But I thought it would be nice if I can generate some money directly from my blog content, so I´ve recently integrated an ad block from Bidvertiser in my left sidebar (I´m sure you´ll find it ;).Bidvertiser is an advertising system on a pay-per-click basis just like Google Adsense or the before mentioned Fair Ads Network. So basically, as an ad publisher you´ll place an ad block on your site and if any of your visitors clicks on of those ads, you´ll get paid. What distinguishs Bidvertiser from the other ad net

Monetize Your Blog - Fair Ads Network
2007-12-03 12:38:00
Today I want to talk about Fair Ads Network, a new contextual advertising program you can use to monetize your blog, make it more popular or even both!Fair Ads Network, from now on I´ll just call it FAN (not only because I´m a fan too;), is a fairly new company trying to compete with big ad publisher programs like Google Adsense or the Yahoo Publishing Network. It was founded by Kevin Lam and Konstantin Boyandin, two guys with big online marketing experience and an iron will to reach their personal goals (I really like that).Basically FAN is just like all the other publishing networks, you can use it to advertise your blog or to publish ads on your blog to make some money online. But there are some big differences to all the big advertising companies. First thing (the probably best in my opinion) is that you won´t get banned from their program, even if you click on your own ads. I won´t encourage anybody clicking their own ads, but from time to time it may happen that you accidenta
