my personal statement…ugghh 2007-11-24 19:46:05 I am currently struggling right now with writing my “personal statement
” for my college applications. It has to be 1,000 words which at first I was like, “oh crap, that isn’t very much”, and now at 856 words I am like “oh crap, I couldn’t possibly write any more”! Can’t I just refer them to this blog? This thing is about as much of a personal statement as it gets, right? Plus, DUDE, I am The Everywhere Girl&hellip
;the perpetual student of every college known to man…shouldn’t I just be allowed to go to whatever school I want without this whole pesky application business? And while we’re at it, can’t I just waive that whole Biology class too?

feature that automatically shares books, movies, or gifts you buy online with everyone you know on Facebook. Without your consent, it pops up in your News Feed…when I first heard about this I definitely thought it was a huge invasion of privacy and weirdy…but it especially sucks for when people are doing their holiday shopping! What happens when my boyfriend buys that Prius he is planning to get for me online? The surprise will totally be ruined!

Today I got a perfect one for how I am feeling. Even though yesterday was Thanksgiving and I am very thankful for everything I have, sometimes you really need to step outside of your own life to get a new perspective on things…I had an okay Thanksgiving but was really having a problem with some aspects of my life that are going on right now. But here is what I got today in my inbox:

I made it! 2007-11-30 02:29:15 Whew! It’s the last day of NaBloPoMo and I made it all the way through! I’m not sure that I kept my promise, but I tried my hardest and that’s all that matters, right? Well, I’ll keep telling myself that. It was really good for me to have to write every day, even if I didn’t feel like it. I know now that blogging is really fun for me and good for cleansing my soul…even if other people don’t want to see how dirty my soul actually is. But that is the nice thing about blogs…you can just put anything out into the world and even if it doesn’t get read, it feels good doing it. Well it also feel really good when it does get read and commented on, so keep those up…I even like the ones that completely disagree with me! You know, so I can publicly humiliate them…haha I kid, I kid.
I will definitely keep the blogging up…maybe not every single day, but at least 5 times a week or so. I have also met some cool

So someone who is more motivated by saving money may just happen to be green too, and vice versa. This is really proven by Mint’s post Eight Things You Should Not Buy New. It is a great post, but I could add more to it…for example, in the books section, I recommend a site I talked about last week, BookMooch. But it’s a good start to the idea that not everything we buy has to be brand new!
Mint is a new money management site that I love…usually I don’t really care about stuff like that, but it’s a really cool way to have all your financial information on one site and it helps you track your spending habits and stuff…there are tons of other cool features that I haven’t even had a chance to check out yet….plus I love their Mint.edu blog because it gives me financial tips and advice in a way that I understand.

;yeah I know, crazy, huh? So today, since I have my last Beginner’s Hoop class at Hoopnotica tonight, I figured I should try to make a nice healthy dinner that will be ready for us after I get home. I wasn’t sure what to make so I looked online and found a bazillion recipes, but not just the right one. I didn’t have all the ingredients for most of them and I was not about to go to the store…I hate grocery shopping. So after a consult with my mom, the queen of all knowledge, I just made up my own recipe. Now I am just hoping it turns out ok…I have never used this crockpot that my mom got me for Christmas two years ago…how awful is that…I even asked for it…I am so lame. Having never used it, having it be really small, and it having only one temperature setting, I am not sure how this meal I made is going to turn out….

He’ll always be the tallest in my heart 2007-12-05 00:24:01 I never planned on it, but every single time I would drive to the Oregon Coast, I would end up stopping by the Nation’s Tallest Sitka Spruce Tree* and giving it a big ‘ol hug…well the biggest hug I could give a tree with a circumference of 56 feet! Somewhere in my boxes of photos I have pictures of me hugging it…several pictures actually as I did this on many different occasions.
I can honestly say that this tree is the first tree I really remember being able to feel the energy pulsating off of…it was always
amazing.
My mom informed me today that the tree fell down in the storms up there this weekend. I am so sad…I feel like I have lost an old friend. He was over 700 years old so he lived a full life…and he was famous! I guess people are stopping by and picking up pieces of the old guy…if anyone goes, pick up a piece for me!
* I hear there were debates about whether he was the tallest or not, but either way, at 216 feet tall

a friendly reminder…get them moles checked! 2007-12-14 19:59:58 So I went to the dermatologist today to get my very first full body mole check. Unfortunately it was very trendy to fake ‘n bake when I was in high school (especially in Oregon where there is no sun) and I did a lot of it, so I know I damaged my skin. I am also a fair-haired, fair-skinned girl who has had a couple of bad sunburns in her lifetime, so it is important for me to keep an eye on the moles I have. I thought by going to have them checked today I would feel relieved and could just check something off of my list for the year&hellip
;but no, the dermatologist actually ended up doing a biopsy….yep she removed a mole from my back!
I will find out in a week or two if it is anything to be concerned about and if anything else needs to be done…yikes! And here I thought I was just gonna feel better about getting a clean bill of health…well actually I do feel better because all of my other moles were fine and I am getting this one taken care of now, before
