Another Great Day 2007-11-14 19:26:00 So I had to work today at my new favorite elementary. Well, it is not my favorite but it is the only one that I have worked at so far. Anyway, I had a great day with the kids. We did Math, English, and Spelling. I finally got to put that college degree to work today if you get my drift. Today they had a cute play presented to the children by some actors from Washington. I thought it was funny but the kids liked it and it had a good message. It is these kind of days that keep me from losing my mind. Thanks again and another day in the trenches has passed! Read more:Great

A Perfect Day 2007-11-13 01:28:00 I subbed in an elementary school today for the second time. These kids were a bit chatty but they actually stayed in their seats, did their work, and behaved like good little boys and girls. It is a huge difference from the high school and middle school situations. I so want to go back to that school and sub some more. Today was the kind of day that makes it all worth while. Sorry it is so short, I have to get to bed. Thanks again and another day in the trenches has passed! Read more:Perfect
The Great Struggle 2007-11-11 13:23:00 I often wonder on how teachers manage to get their students to learn and to be happy at the same time. I come into the classroom and they do not want to do their work at all. I know that they are bored or do not like the subject, but that it is not my fault. How do regular teachers handle this situation? I think that some teachers let kids sit there and do nothing. Those teachers are going to have start using different methods in order to reach their young minds. Read more:Great
Day Four of 5-Day Job 2007-11-08 22:55:00 Well I got in trouble at work today for doing my job. Parents have been complaining because I have been making their precious little darlings do their work and stay in their assigned seats. Apparently, I am just supposed to sit there and take roll and do nothing else. Well, that is not my job description and just plain stupid. I figured that kids would complain because they do not like being told what to do. The principal had to babysit one of my classes today, which was embarrassing for me. It made me feel like I could not do my job at all. I refuse to go to work tomorrow. No one treats me like crap and gets away with it. I am going to have their teacher make them give a written apology to me about their bad behavior. When kids have more power than a sub, there is something wrong with the picture. So lets just say things did not go well today at all. Another day in the trenches, and hopefully my last one at that school for a very long time. Read more:Day Four
Day Three of 5 Day Job 2007-11-07 23:16:00 So today my students got yelled at by the other teachers for being too noisy and not staying on task. It was like a prayer had been answered. I have never seen kids so quiet and working so hard. It was almost hard to believe if I did not witness it for myself. So first hour got yelled at three times and after that, they were as quiet as church mice and worked extremely hard on their assignment. I was so happy not having to force them to do their work.Second hour was not perfect but it was well-behaved for the most part. Since they have their own programs on the computer, it is an easy class to watch.Third hour should have had the book thrown at them but they did not. They were loud, had trouble staying on task but at least they were midly well-behaved. Acts of defiance and badmouthing did not happen.Fourth hour was prep and so I left early for lunch. I even cooked my first meal today all by myself. Anyone who knows me, knows that I do not cook so this was a real accomplishment.Fifth hou Read more:Three
Day Two of 5 Day Job 2007-11-06 21:26:00 Well today was the second day of my five-day torture at one of the local high schools. First hour went much better today mainly because the main troublemaker was absent from class. Second hour was smooth as cake, which is incredibly nice in a long day. Third hour were not perfect angels but they were not the worst hour of the day. Considering that the teacher warned me that this hour is her worst, I have been pleasantly surprised so far. Fourth hour is her prep, which I badly needed today. So I decided to take an early lunch. Unfortunately, things did not go as I had wanted them to. When I got out to my car in the parking lot, I found it blocked by a student's car. There was no way I could get my car out of its parking spot without hitting another car. I had to wait about a half hour before students were let out for lunch in order to extract my car. So my nice leisurely lunch turned into a race against the clock.Fifth hour was a horrible class with students off task and blaming me for
Day One of 5 Day Job 2007-11-05 19:28:00 So today was the beginning of a five day job at a different high school than Friday. I am teaching English and it is mostly juniors and seniors. I met the regular teacher this morning and she was incredibly nice and supportive. Out of all her hours, her first hour was definitely the worst. Apparently, asking kids to stay on task and work on the assignment makes me uptight. One student even told me to shut up when I asked her to be quiet. Four more days of these little devils. Here hardest hour was actually her easiest because the students kept on each other to be good for the sub, which was nice. There is even a teacher who is going to be available for help if I run into problems, which is a nice addition to the workday. And if things get really bad, there is a button that goes directly to the office for help. I hope to handle things on my own but I am not going to afraid to ask for help. So three of her hours are reading the Scarlet Letter. I read it in high school so I at least know Read more:Day One
Friday, November 2, 2007 2007-11-04 16:01:00 So I subbed for two math classes on Friday
at one of the local high schools. I did a day and a half of work and by the end of the day, I was pooped. I even fell asleep in one class for a moment or two. So I subbed for seven hours including Early Morning (7 am, ouch) and for the most part, it went well. I had subbed for one of the teachers before so I kinda knew what to expect but do not let that fool you. One class in particular was horrible and defiant to the simplest request. You could have sworn I was asking them to do brain surgery instead of their assignment. The next class was extremely loud but at least the majority of the class managed to stay on task, which was incredibly remarkable. The last two hours of the day were honors, which were a breeze. They worked together on their assignment and behaved like angels. So there is still hope in the world. Wish me luck tomorrow as I start a new chapter in the trenches. Read more:November
My Easy Money Sites 2007-11-04 14:48:00 So I noticed that some people have a whole list of sites on their blogs and I figured I might as well too. I was going to post some banners but I also signed up for something else that should pay and I do not want to interfere with it. So here goes nothing:For these, all you have to do to sign up is click the link and register and confirm your email address.FusionCashhttp://www.fusioncash.net/?ref=kuehmaryTreasureTrooperhttp://www.treasuretrooper.com/328628TitanClickshttp://www.titanclicks.com/signup.php?ref=ckenturyWordLinxhttp://wordlinx.com/?r=40225Hits4Payhttp://hits4pay.com/members/index.cgi?kuehmaryInbox Dollarshttp://www.inboxdollars.com/?r=kuehmarySendEarningshttp://www.sendearnings.com/?r=kuehmaryClixsensehttp://www.clixsense.com/?2274317QuickRewardshttp://www.quickrewards.net/?r=!F94VXV35D5HZ6Gatherhttp://www.gather.com/inviteLanding.jsp?parentMemberId=445306&tc=12BigDevilhttp://www.bigdevil.com/join/centurykuehlerWinzyhttp://www.winzy.com/kuehmaryBlingohttp://www.blingo. Referrals Part Two 2007-11-04 14:09:00 So the other site that I am going to be using for referrals is StarReferrals. It is similar to GetRef but it looks a bit easier. You can earn about 10 stars on your fist day with clicking and signing up for other programs. There is a whole bunch of programs on there but that also means a whole lot of competition. Just like GetRef, you can buy stars or earn them. I prefer to earn them but time will tell. So if you want to join, just click the title and good luck!
Referrals 2007-11-04 14:00:00 So you may have noticed that I am a member of a whole bunch of sites. Well, most of those sites require referrals in order to get the big bucks. So here is one of my favorites in which to get referrals. The first is GetRef, which is an extremely cool site. I have been a member about a month and had good success with it so far. Basically, you sign up and earn credits so that you can spend them on your own sites. You can earn them three ways: buy them, click links, or join other programs. I have done all three so far and the best is probably to join other programs if you do not mind waiting for confirmation.Getting referrals is hard but in the end it is worth it. If you want to join, just click on the title of this post (Referrals).
Thursday and the Festival of Trees 2007-11-30 00:13:00 So I had a half day at one of the local high schools and it went really well. I was about 20 min. late for work though. But the students did not seem to mind too much. One of the classes had a test and they were good the whole hour, which has never happened in my experience. Surprisingly enough, his AP History class was actually the only one that gave me any problems. The school had an unscheduled fire drill and it was extremely chilly outside with the wind blowing. I had my coat and gloves but that wind still made it bone cold. It was my first good experience at that school, which was nice. Some of you may know about the annual Festival
of Trees
,which serves as a fund raiser for children's health care. It definitely helps anyone get into the Christmas spirit. Well, I signed to volunteer for two days at the event. Today was my first day and it was extremely boring so I wandered around most of the time. I did see some friends of my parents, which was a nice diversion. The other v Read more:Thursday
Spock, A Very Cool Site 2007-11-29 01:10:00 Have you ever wondered how popular you are on the web? Of course, you can always Google yourself but after a while, that can get kind of old. Then you definitely head over to this this new site called Spock
where you can find not only yourself but all sorts of different people from regular people to celebs. Of course, I had to sign up to see if I could find myself on this interesting site. I instantly found two favorite features. The first is the tagging where they ask about your life. They ask what color eyes you have and what color hair you have, which is definitely unique. The second feature is where they crawl the web looking for links about you. You can see which sites are found from Digg to Ancestry.com.Besides searching for myself, I did a search for one of my favorite TV shows, "Ugly Betty", just to what happens. So instead of links to the TV show or fan sites, I get information about the people who play the characters on the show. I think that this is incredibly awesome becaus
Back to the Trenches 2007-11-27 23:51:00 I had computers at one of the local junior highs in town. The first two hours, I had an intern who conducted class, which was nice. So I only had to watch 4 hours of classes, instead of the regular six. The rest of the day went by smoothly without any problems. It was a nice break from the battle zone of the high schools. Day Off and Updates 2007-11-28 23:53:00 I just stayed home and hung around the house. I had a good day and watched the 75th Annual Rockefeller Center tree-lighting ceremony on TV.Sorry for the delay in not updating my blog. I have been busy with other things and did not have the time to get to the blog. I spent yesterday at work updating it on paper so people could see what is happening. I noticed that there is not very many pictures on here and I am going to be much better at making my blog more colorful in the future.
Giftcard from Memolink 2007-11-26 23:47:00 I finally earned enough points on Memolink to get a reward. It arrived today, which was totally unexpected. The giftcard was a $25 dollar one to Walmart, which is extremely helpful to my family. So after I picked up my mom from work, we headed out to Walmart to spend that free money. We bought the following and still have $1.87 left over:1 Butterfinger (for my dad)4 sandwiches (3 for me, 1 for my mom)1 beef stick (for my dad)1 pkg. of socks (for my mom)We had a good time because it made my mom happy to get stuff she wanted without having to fork over any cash.So if you want to join in the fun, just say so in the comments!
Weekend Holiday 2007-11-25 23:21:00 I stayed home and away from the stores. Just played on the computer and had a pleasant day. No muss, no fuss, which was incredibly nice.Have I mentioned how much I love our new printer? It is awesome. It connects to the network, which is my favorite part because it allows me to print stuff off from my laptop without having to use the other computer first. We bought it at Staples for $79.99, when it is normally $140.99. This is a very good deal. It is a Brother MFC-440CN. It even reads memory cards and has a nice LCD display. It is one of those multifunction ones because it can print, copy, scan, and fax. I just love it because it fits our needs so well. Read more:Weekend

Black Friday 2007-11-23 22:28:00 One of the best parts of Thanksgiving is of course the ads that stores put out to entice shoppers to spend. However, I have a firm policy that I like to sleep in on my days off. I see no reason to stand in line in the freezing cold to get a good deal. However, my plans changed once my brother called me at 6:30am asking for my help. You see, he was standing in line at Staples so we could get a new printer. He was worried about not getting his jump drive because of the crowds. So since he was willing to half with me on the printer and stand in line with those crazy people, I figured the least I could do was stand in line at Officemax for him. Well, I figured that there would not be a long line since people could get the same deal online. I was dead wrong because the line was at least a block long with more showing up by the minute. But the people that I met in line were very nice and it helped to pass the time. As soon as it close to 7am, people were starting to get nervous. They started Read more:Black

Thanksgiving Day 2007-11-22 01:56:00 Since I do not like turkey and everything that goes with it, it is not a very pleasant day. However, I absolutely love the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving
Parade. It has to be my most favorite part of the day. This year’s parade definitely did not disappoint me.The rest of the day was nice and quiet with my brother in charge of the cooking and me playing on the computer.
Day Before Thanksgiving 2007-11-21 22:27:00 There was no school today so I had the day off work, which makes me happy.I got paid yesterday, which means it is time to go pay some bills and get some food in the house. My brother and I went shopping at the grocery store for Thanksgiving
stuff and it was a madhouse. Luckily, we did not have to wait too long in line and were able to get everything on the grocery list.
2nd and 3rd Days At Franklin 2007-11-21 00:55:00 I got paid Tuesday for all my hard work, which was extremely nice because I surely deserved each and every penny. The student teacher was in charge of the class, which equals rest and relaxation for me. I think all classes should be this easy. I actually knew the student teacher because we had a couple of classes together in college. She is a bit more easy going than me as far as student behavior goes. She gets along with those kids very well and likes to joke around with them. She is moving to Tennessee very soon with her hubby.Tuesday was dance day, which was sort of like a half day with the two-hour early release because of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Girls put a lot more effort into looking good that day than the boys.I was able to leave early that day without any problems. I made sure not to volunteer for duty, unlike one poor sub. I even got paid for a full day work but only had to be there for a half day, which was sweet. Read more:Franklin
1st Day at Franklin 2007-11-16 01:55:00 I had math at one of the local junior highs. It is the start of a 3-day job. I was lucky today because the kids were all honors and actually behaved extremely well for a sub. They worked hard on their assignment the entire hour and a couple of them finished early. They did ask about their teacher and student teacher, which come with the territory. The weekend has arrived and I am definitely pumped. Read more:Franklin
My Saturday 2007-12-02 00:16:00 I was supposed to get up early today and take the LSAT again. But since I am not going to be attending law school next year, I decided to sleep in. I did not study because I saw no point in doing well on the test. It would have been extremely funny if I had taken the test and done better this time than last. It is a hard test and I studied my butt off last time. I only got a 154, which is not very good and I would not get me into any decent law school, much less a top 10 law school. I felt bad about not showing up but I was not going to get out of bed to take a test for the fun of it. I went to the Festival of Trees with my father again because I had a free ticket so he could see all the decorations. He enjoyed himself, which was good. I was supposed to voluteer again but I figured if I was going to be bored again, I might as well stay home. They had plenty of volunteers and there were less visitors, so they were not going to be left empty-handed. Most of the trees have already been so Read more:Saturday
A Boring Friday 2007-11-30 22:50:00 So today I did not get called into work and I just was lazy around the house. It was nice having a day off from work without all the pressure and stress that goes along with my job. I just stayed home and played around on the computer. I have a lot of stuff I had to catch up on and so the extra time was extremely helpful. If you have noticed, my blog is more colorful with pictures and links. I am trying my best to learn HTML and to implement here. Sorry for the short post, not much happened today. Read more:Friday
My New Handbag 2007-11-15 18:00:00 Today I recieved my gorgeous new handbag from Baghaus and it is just beautiful. I love Baghaus because one can get a stylish handbag at an affordable price that look just like the designer bags. They offer a wide range of selections from clutches and evening bags to oversized totes and medium-sized satchel. The best parts are the prices and the fact that their bags are designer-inspired.I bought the Large Shoulder Tote that looks just like the MICHAEL Michael Kors "Brookeville" Shoulder Tote but at a much more reasonable price. The Michael Kors, who I absolutely love, bag on the left costs $298 at Macy's while my bag on the right only costs $38.80 at Baghaus. The difference is in the price and the small detail on the side. I had been coveting the Micheal Kors bag for about two months knowing full well that there was not a snowball's chance in hell that I would be able to get it. So of course, as soon as I saw the more affordable bag, I had to have it. I am so glad that I found it and Read more:Handbag
Enchanted: Loved Every Minute 2007-12-16 14:14:00 I have seen "Enchanted
" from Walt Disney Pictures twice and loved every minute of it. It is a modern-day fairytale narrated by the lovely Julie Andrews set to music with animation and non-animation thrown together. The animated section starts out with a young maiden named Giselle, which is played by Amy Adams, who is a fair young maiden who meets and falls in love with the handsome Prince Edward, which is played by James Marsden from the X-Men series and Hairspray, and the next day they are to be married and receive their true love's kiss. However, Edward's stepmother, Queen Narissa, which is played by Susan Sarandon, who views Giselle as a threat to her throne and immediately decides that Giselle must be banished from the kingdom. So she disguises herself as an old woman and throws Giselle into a well that takes her to a foreign land known as New York City. In New York City, she meets Robert, who is a single parent and played by Patrick Dempsey from Grey's Anatomy, and is allowed Read more:Minute
Free Movie Ticket 2007-12-04 22:45:00 I won a free movie ticket at Winster, which is extremely cool. I have wanted to go to the movies for a while but the sky-high prices have kept me away.If you want to do the same, just go to Winster and sign up for a free trail of Club Winnie. Then just play until you have enough points for a prize. It is easy and fun, which is a great combination. There are even instructions on how to play for free on their site.I am definitely not a morning person so I do not move very fast at 6am in the morning. Since I could not get to the phone in enough time, I ended up having the day off work. I just worked on my different earnings sites and tried to stay on top of things. I also worked on attracting more traffic here, which is definitely hard work. I am trying to do as much as possible to help my family out because money is definitely tight. We got three Christmas cards today from family and friends, which puts me to shame. Read more:Ticket
Two Uneventful Days 2007-12-03 22:35:00 Sunday was quiet and I did not do too much. I just did the daily point thing and hung out on different sites. I also worked on this blog but I am having trouble staying consistent with updating. So backdating is a wonderful tool for me and I am extremely thankful for it. On Monday, I had a lot of errands to run and I had to pay some bills. Surprisingly, I did not have to go to work, which was extremely helpful today. I tried to increase my earnings so I can finally see the fruits of my labors. We also got our first Christmas card today. I cannot believe that Christmas is right around the corner. I am so behind but that is why we have weekends to catch up.
Elf: One Too Many Times 2007-12-18 19:16:00 I only had a half day at work at a local junior high. The kids were pretty good and I got to watch Elf twice, which is one too many times for my taste. So it was not a bad day substitute teaching in the trenches.I finally earned enough points on Memolink to qualify for a $20 gift certificate to Webcertificate.com. However, I do not know if I am going to take advantage of this offer. I am only 7,000 points away from a $25 gift card, which I could use in any store or online. I think that I will ponder it for the rest of the day and make a decision. Read more:Times
