Alvin and The Chipmunks and More 2007-12-15 21:10:00 I went and saw Alvin
and the Chipmunks today with my father for free at the movie theater. It was cute but I guess I expected better. I do no think that I will see it again. But it was a nice break from the day.I have made over $30 this month in online earnings, not to mention 4 gift cards for Christmas and my family. I canceled three accounts today on gpt sites because there was no way I could ever cash out in a reasonable amount of time. I prefer sites where the points and earnings can accumulate easily and a quick cash out process.Associated Content has been the best with Memolink and MyPoints right behind. Mechanical Turk is extremely easy but I wish I had more time to do it. I finally got my post picked for CreamAid Beta, which was a nice surprise. I hope the last half of the month is just as good as the first half.
High School Opposites 2007-12-14 18:40:00 So I had two half days today at a local high school and the classes were complete opposites.I could not find the first teacher's note so we just watched Ocean's Eleven to pass the time. The kids really enjoyed the movie and I enjoyed their good behavior. If the first class were angels, then the second class were devils. Their teacher warned me about their bad behavior but she actually underestimated how bad they were. All they had to do was some Sudoku games but getting them to do even that was difficult. They had trouble staying on task, in their seats, and off the tables. No to mention the noise level, which was horrible. I have had elementary school students better behaved than that class. So their bad behavior made for a very long and horrible day in the trenches. Read more:School

Same Ole Story 2007-12-13 19:05:00 I had to teach at a local high school for a teacher who I substitute taught before, which was interesting since last time I did not leave a very good note. The classes were a bit better behaved than last time but by very much. The classes before lunch were extremely easy, which is sort of fools you into thinking that the entire day is going to be a breeze. So it was definitely another day in the trenches where kids get to misbehave and get away with it. That seems to be the norm with the public school system instead of the exception. My car got fixed, which was a mixed combination because now it should work much better but it also cost a fortune to get repaired. Looks like I have to start working a bit harder to stay on top of things.
No Work for the Substitute Teacher Today 2007-12-12 15:49:00 No work today so I just worked on my online earnings. I spent a lot of time doing different reward programs but they do have benefits, which helps my family. I need referrals on most of them by the way. Read more:Today

A Quiz? You Could Have Fooled Me 2007-12-10 18:52:00 I had to teach math at one of the local junior highs today. I met the instructor before the day started, which was sort of strange but nice event. The teacher had me give the students a quiz but most of the time, it was a struggle to keep them on task. Two classes had another teacher help out at the beginning of class but she left about one-fourth the way through each class. She meant business and the students knew it. So those classes were much better behaved because they knew that there would be consequences for their bad behavior. So today was definitely one of those days in the trenches. At least I got to leave early because the only student in the last period did not show up. I also got to help out a couple of students.
Good Day in Junior High Band 2007-12-07 22:18:00 I had junior high band today at work, which is extremely horrible for me because I hate loud noises. But one class had an assistant teacher to direct class, which was nice. Two other classes had a student direct class. Only one class out of four gave me any problems, which is not too shabby. Considering how much the teacher warned me about their behavior, it was quite a surprise for me to have them be so well-behaved. So it was a very good day in the trenches. Read more:Good Day

Too Much Energy for a Substitute Teacher 2007-12-06 18:41:00 I only had a half day at work today but it was an extremely difficult couple of hours. Those junior high kids were full of energy and incredibly noisy. The last class, which is for those kids who need extra help with their schoolwork, was actually the most well-behaved class. I survived the day but it was not easy.My car got fixed without any charge, which was a huge relief off my mind. I have made $0.58 so far on Amazon.com's Mechanical Turk. It may not be much but every little bit helps. Read more:Energy
