Bamboo Blade 5
2007-11-14 20:07:04
Sayako, the habitual line-stepper. I’ll admit that Bamboo Blade took a few episodes to get going. At first, I wasn’t sure if it was going to very good. Of course, a show about Kendo had the potential to be interesting. Additionally, mediocre reviews of the manga and a slow moving start made me wary. However, with the addition of newer characters, such as Sayako, and as we learn more about the personalities of the existing characters, Miya for example, the show becomes much more interesting. And of course, there is Tamaki’s great sense of justice brought on by the most amazing show ever, Blade Braver. As such, I think that this is this is the best episode yet. The episode starts with Sayako wanting to spar with Tamaki, which turns out to be a great blow to her confidence, as well as her head See above figure. As it turns out, the club is going to be having a practice match with Kenzo’s team today, so they are all waiting in anticipation. Another gangster face cou

Kaiji Episode 6
2007-11-11 18:57:25
I capture the most inert moments. Things are really getting tense as the remaining time drops to less than twenty minutes. As we know, Kaiji and the two fairies he is with each have two stars. They also have like thirty rocks and five scissors. However, Kaiji has an idea. After taking three of his groups stars, Kaiji convinces Kitami to relinquish his 34 papers as well. Now, it’s up to Kaiji to just wait for the opportune moment to strike. Opportunity strikes. Will Kaiji abandon his newfound friends for a chance at survival? However, problem strikes. All of the remaining players are refusing to play, as suffering from prior scamming had made them mistrustful. Funai, who early on had scammed Kaiji out of two of his stars, comes up with a plan to get the remaining players to agree to play. Everyone would reshuffle their cards and they would be redistributed. Alas, this could mean the destruction of Kaiji and his group, who had bought out all of the rocks and paper. What will he do

Anime Episode Downloads
2007-11-08 20:03:40
I would just like to let everyone know that I have preemptively uploaded two new anime: Bartender and Mononoke. And since I’m to lazy to type up synopsis and take screenshots for each episode at this moment, I have just included the links for all of the episodes at the Downloads page. Eventually, I may add the posts for each when I decide to watch them all myself. Anyway, that brings us up to five whole big animes on the website. I will also be uploading the entire seasons of Akagi (by the makers of Kaiji), and then Legend of the Galactic Heroes (a shwing classic space opera), if Dreamhost doesn’t cause my site to implode on itself by then. Additionally, be sure to attempt to post on the forums, as I may be more inclined to add content when we actually get visitors. Also, if you want to be a writer for this site, we pay in lolcat images.

Bookmooch - Recycle Your Books
2007-11-08 19:33:29
Bookmooch is a website in which a person can trade away their old books that they no longer read for books that they do wish to read. Here’s how it works. Adding books to your inventory gets you a tenth of a point per book added. With a full point you can request another book from a separate user. When a user requests one of your books, you get a point from them. You only have to pay shipping on books you send out. So essentially, you are getting a book you want to read for the cost of an old book + shipping, which, if you don’t collect your books and just read them, works out very nicely. You add books to your wishlist and you recieve an e-mail when one of those books are available for mooching. I thought that I would tell others about this site, as it has proven quite useful for me. I have used it to trade away a lot of my old books and manga that I don’t want for books I do want. Personally I’ve given away 45 books, and received almost 60. While I believe Bo

Moyashimon 03: Bacteria Within
2007-11-05 23:10:55
The third installment of Tales of Agriculture subjects us again to more interesting facts surrounding fermentation, which appears to be a large motif, given the subject matter of the show. This time its a skate fish (or ray), and Sawaki yet again appears to bear the brunt of the stench. I’m really enjoying the show so far. It’s fairly laid back, the facts and subjects are interesting, and who could resist this: A day in the life of sake brewing. The art and animation quality of this show is also excellent. Even just looking at the characters is enjoyable. Download Episode 03

Kaiji Episode 5
2007-11-05 21:15:11
Kaiji and his G-unit are still in financial (in terms of stars) trouble, as they have been for the last four episodes. They are down to one star each, and a large pile of rocks mixed with a few other cards. They only have 45 or so minutes left before the game ends. They’ve been approached by these guys, and through some amazing persuasiveness, Kaiji convinces them to play him, for the ripe sum of 3 stars. It’s do or die in this episode, so hold on to your Japanese boob balls. Download Episode 05

Bamboo Blade - Faces of Death
2007-11-05 19:25:18
TENTACLES At first I was going to attempt to psychoanalyze this episode, making some reference to outward appearance and mental state, but I realized that the most complex idea within this episode is that Miya-Miya likes hitting people, perhaps as a result of abuse as a child. Yet, she acts completely opposite to her personality because of her love for Dan-kun. Additionally, I realized that I can’t even spell psycology(sp). Enjoy Sayako’s hairdo. Kirino as usual provides the most exhilarating screenshots. MOE MOE MOE MOE MOE. Miya’s real personality leaks out for a short moment in this revealing facial expression. Overall, the focus of this episode is on Miya and Sayako. If you remember from the last episode, Miya is somewhat blunt with Sayako. Sayako returns to the club while Miya is training, and Miya avoids her, due to embarrassment or guilt or otherwise… Download Episode 04

Kaiji Episode 4: 30 Rocks from the Scum
2007-10-30 22:21:53
I pick the best screenshots so you don’t have to. Episode continues from where it left off, leaving our friend Kaiji and his two scumbag companions up shit avenue without a bus ticket. Things are looking grim for the three, with only five stars between them and approximately no cards. However, Kaiji manages to come up with another interesting idea. It seems that if he wasn’t a loser he’d be a good chess player. Hint: There are no scissors or paper in that pile of cards he is holding. The plan seems foolproof, but Kaiji has a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach (and we know how those usually end up). Download Episode 04

A Bit of Noise -Jared and the Hats
2007-10-28 19:00:05
So, I found a bit of noise that some of you might enjoy. Personally I fancy the record and in my opinion the tracks to pay attention to would have to be 2, 6, 8, and 10. The fact that these are all even numbers is purely coincidence. Oh and finding this oddity in a physical CD format has proven quite the challenge, so if your looking to buy something more substantial then a few mp3’s it would be best not to get your hopes up. Enjoy!

Guitar Hero III Sucks More Than My Review Of It
2007-10-28 17:11:06
Well, perhaps. However, it doesn’t even compare to any of its predecessors. Apparently our friends at Activision have dropped the ball. New GH3 Drummer First off, the graphics. Not much to say here, though I don’t like the star power meter, I find it harder to see my Star Power while playing. It seems that they made the notes really bright and annoying, and removed any and all contrast from the rest of the interface so I can’t see anything. Additionally, though the character graphics are spiffed up a bit for the newer generation systems, they’re nothing special. I will say that the drummer is a machine. Machine, not in that he has high endurance, but his movements resemble that of Johnny 5 from Short Circuit. Also, despite his huge chin, the vocalist isn’t too good at lip synching either. Audiophile-level Sound Quality Looks aside, the real flaws lie within the gameplay itself. While there isn’t much different with the way songs are played from the

I Shall Exterminate Everything Around Me That Restricts Me From Being The Master
2007-11-19 17:14:48
Octa Album Art The title of Electric Six’s new album wields one of the most impressive names I’ve ever come across. I Shall Exterminate Everything Around Me That Restricts Me From Being The Master (or ISEEAMTRMFBTM as I shall fondly refer to it), is a fantastic ride on an intense electro-rock train. The genre its listed as rock but after tasting the first three songs of the album its easy to tell that to call call this a rock album is clearly a restricting mislabel. In the tunes they play the Electric Six exhibit elements of techno, electric, garage, and punk. The ISEEAMTRMFBTM album contains a listing of sixteen tracks all of which have names that closely rival the curiosity of the album name. Highlights and my favorite tracks are listed below in bold text. “It’s Showtime!” 1:53 “Down at McDonnellzzzzz” 4:01 “Dance Pattern” 3:41 “Rip It!” 3:37 “Feed My Fuckin’ Habit” 2:11 “Riding On The Wh

Moyashimon Episode 4

BEETLEJOOOSE Sawaki wonders why they are out searching through dirt and weeds. It turns out, the Professor is collecting worms, who are the natural tillers of the earth, for some experiments. It wouldn’t be Tales of Agriculture without some fisting. It’s Agriculture week, so the Seniors are putting on some activities for Sawaki and the other new students. This includes Sawaki unintentionally volunteering himself for the cow anus fisting. Moyashimon wouldn’t be the same without it or some other sick act. What seems cute on the surface turns out to be something a little… sinister. The Seniors also worked long and hard to prepare a fine meal for the new students. However, the salad dressing appeared to have something else along for the ride. What seems cute also happens to be what causes food poisoning. So Sawaki, upon seeing them, risks revealing his ability by preventing anyone from eating the food. The Professor uses his amazing strength to save the day. The Pr

Crocs Caymans vs. Converse Foot Shoes
2007-11-18 03:32:39
So sure Crocs look like foot cheese (Swiss Emmental Foot Cheese that is), but in all seriousness as you can see from the below comparison to the left the Crocs Cayman cannot compare to the shear grotesqueness of the foot shoes on the right. The Converse Foot Shoes are malodorous, hideous, and very uncomfortable. In comparison the Caymans are only hideous, which would mean that the Crocs are, by two accounts better than the Foot Shoes. So it would seem that there exists a shoe worse then the Caymans, but how much worse are they? To find out, our investigation probed the opinions/reactions of three anonymous individuals who will from now until the end of the pseudo scientific experiment be identified as Indiv1, Indiv2, and Indiv3. So now onto the meat! Crocs Black Cayman The hideous Foot Shoes Neither shoe is very visually appealing. This is what Indiv1 indicated to us after we investigated how inviting the unique appearance of each instance of shoe was. This mild mannered indi

Another Batch Of Anime

I’ve been busy recently with Thanksgiving break, and since I’m nearing the end of the semester at college, I have not a lot of time due to projects and exams. So, I decided to make up for a lack of updates with just another batch of uploads. I will still continue to post for each episode, but until then you can just download them and view for yourself. I’ve added: Charge!! Otokojuku! 1-6 Legend of Galactic Heroes Movie 1 Legend of Galactic Heroes Gaiden 1-3 (OVA) Legend of Galactic Heroes 1-10 (out of 110 once I upload them) If you notice the above anime are not new, but more retro/classic, that being retro manliness explosion and classic space opera. I will also at least get up the new Bamboo Blade, Kaiji, and Moyashimon in the next coming week. Also, if you haven’t read the Anime Download page, I will upload Akagi, which is an anime by the creators of Kaiji, so if you like Kaiji you will notice the similarities and possibly like Akagi as well. 2007-11-30 22:13:42
Uploading that is! Bwahahahaa. Anyway, there’s only one more week of school before finals, and then I will have all Christmas break to shower you with love and updates. Until then, I will continue this social experiment to find out exactly how much anime you can upload before Dreamhost gets pissed off (Luckily, in this event, I have everything mirrored to another location.). Anyway, I have uploaded quite a few gigs in the last day: Dragonaut: The Resonance 1-9 Ikkitousen: Dragon Destiny 1-12 Kimikiss: Pure Rouge 1-8 Minami-ke 1-6 Rental Magica 1-8 Shigurui 1-6 Coming Soon: Akagi, Baccano, Kasimasi (+ updates of all existing anime and hopefully more LOGH). BTW: Feel free to point out any broken links as well as feedback/reminding me about new episodes. Also requests by those who post on the forums will be given priority (sticking to mostly unlicensed anime for general public).

I have uploaded: Bamboo Blade 6-7 Kaiji 7-8 Legend of the Galactic Heroes 11-20 I promise to at least do the Bamboo Blade/Kaiji post updates in the next week, as well as Moyashimon if BSS ever releases it. I’ll also upload more Legend of the Galactic Heroes!

Bamboo Blade - 7
2007-12-05 21:39:53
After challenging Tamaki, Ishibashi and Ishida compare puny biceps in order to prove to each other their strength. Ishibashi has seen something in Tamaki that he realizes as greatness. If only he had that strength back in high school when we was fighting Ishida. Anyway, Ishibashi wants to prove to himself that he is still strong, and that he can beat a puny freshman girl. Well that idea goes down the shitter as he is bombarded with strike after strike while pressing a heavy attack, which leaves Tamaki unfazed. Tamaki does some never seen before one-handed strikes, throwing Ishibashi off-guard. This causes Ishibashi to actually become serious, and he moves to the ascension stance. Everyone else assumes that this means the end for Tamaki, as that stance is supposedly extremely strong. However, that stance causes Tamaki to go into a flashback about her mother using the same stance, and Tamaki spaces out. Ishibashi notices this, and then decides to call the match off (poor Ishida and hi

Since their team has only four players, he has come up with a way to have Tamaki compete twice, both first and last. She would face the first opponent at only 50% of her power level, and then sneak out of the place, and come back later in a disguise, pretending to be their fifth player. Kaiji - 8
2007-12-04 20:28:23
The Fall of Man Funai is reluctant to accept Kaiji’s gamble of five stars, though his options are limited. Funai has only one card left, but nine stars. However, he if he doesn’t get rid of his card he will lose. So, he calls out to Mr. X, the unknown man with the three scissors, and makes a proposal that he will give Mr. X the stars necessary to survive if he plays. However, Kaiji reminds Funai of a very important fact. Earlier on in the game, a man was thrown out for trying to flush his cards down the toilet, which is against the rules. Those three cards were most likely the three scissors, which had not been removed from the scoreboard. Thus, there was no Mr. X. Funai must play Kaiji. However, Funai argues that Kaiji is in the same bind as he, and counters with only a three star offer, and that Kaiji could just buy the final stars necessary to survive. Kaiji refuses, stating that he will take Funai to hell with him if he has to. This show is full of wusses. It turns ou

Kaiji - 7
2007-12-03 15:44:05
In order to avoid guaranteed failure Kaiji is forced to join Funai’s group and have his 69 card shuffled and redistributed. This sets Kaiji and his two pals back a few places since now they won’t have an advantage with their cards. Everyone shuffles the deck, starting and ending with Funai. Then, Funai deals out the cards to each of the players in the amounts that they had put in. This leads to everyone getting their cards and immediately starting to play, except for Kaiji and his team, as Funai gives them a slight handicap with the following gesture. Once Kaiji’s team has collected all of their cards and recounted, he notices something. They possess all 34 of the remaining papers in the game. Which leaves only rocks and five scissors left out in the open. Kaiji also notices something odd. The players who had only one card are not playing. After a brief struggle between Kaiji and Funai over who gets to play a person with only one card, Funai lets something slip that

Live Action Achtung
2007-12-20 21:15:26
What anime has evolved into. Recently there has been an influx of anime to live action films in production. Right now there are two major live action films on the horizon: Dragonball and Speed Racer. First off, lets talk about Dragonball. As amazing as I’m sure this 100 million dollar film will be, I have a slight inkling that it will be somewhere between a gargantuan and a titanic flop. Why? Because despite what they may think, this film is about 10 years too late. I’d like to say that I see on average fewer shirts with flames, wolves, or flaming wolves on them, which can only mean that those who did watch the show have now grown up into neckbearded college students with interests lying in more “elegant” shows (see image). Justin Chatwin: Goku Nonetheless, I could be wrong about this. Perhaps a new generation of Dragonball fanatics have emerged, and somehow this movie will turn a profit. Indeed, let us not forget that this film is based off of Dragonball, not D
