The Unique Way To Missions
2007-11-11 21:34:00
Loved Of The LORD,So many times, as we have been ministering, I have been asked about the process to be involved in Missions . All I can say is that the way GOD took me,(And later The wife of my youth, with me.) was contrary to any Church &/or Group Mission ways that I know about. Most Missionaries have to drum up support to so much a month, (around $20 - $40 thousand a year) before they are sent. This might be a new term for you, but to go along with that"Special Uniqueness" of our calling, we found ourselves a part of a special breed called “Cowboy Missionaries”. Below is a portion of a very Good article on the normal Deputation process. Check out the link for the full article!Missionary deputation is often looked upon as "the pits," a horrible experience through which fledgling missionaries must pass in order to become "real missionaries." "If only we could avoid deputation," say some who claim that otherwise they would consider missionary service. Ernest D. Pickering, Th.D.

Loved of The LORD,We are still in the process of (Learning) Building our Blog Site, i.e. Won Preacher's ThoughtsSo "Just to be honest" we need to experiment, in order to get it up to speed. As slow as it has been, we are excited that we are starting to move and as soon as I complete some of these learning curves, getting them under my belt, I will concentrate on the purpose of the Blog. In the Mean Time, if you have any Questions about this building process, let me know and I will be blessed to share what I know. I have not been able to Hot Link the "BookWise" side panel yet, (Edited 071112 "We have it working now! Try It Out!) Nevertheless the Title of this post and name above, will take you there. Now that that is done, Let me just say that we have been able to minister without raising support in "The General Way" and our hand in Business (Like "BookWise") and our Regular Income has sufficed thus far. As The Apostle Paul encouraged the Philippians by commending those who had a part

Loved of The LORD,No moss growing under my feet. Have T. D. Jakes 'REPOSITION YOURSELF' under my belt. It was an informative and found it to be a good read. As I have said before, "Have not found a man (or woman) of God that I agree with 100%, yet Bishop Jakes' book is helpful. Check out my reviews on the link above. NOTE! This is the 1st time I tried this link thing, now watch it work!

The Secret
2007-11-01 11:52:00
Loved Of THE LORD, Well this has been a busy & exciting two weeks and running to catch up on many things including this Blog. The Love of my life, who is The Wife of my youth and I were up in the Salt Lake City Area visiting love ones after a phenomenal 3 day business training & Writer's Conference. I will make reference to it soon, again time being a factor. On returning to this love of writing I find a comment to the last post (Sunday, October 14, 2007) that make reference to The Secret and a couple other things that seem to fit right in here at this time. Katch writes, “‘The Secret’ is a very clever commercialisation of the Law of Attraction. - “YOU ATTRACT WHAT YOU FOCUS ON” is not a new phenomenon.” I am reminded of the unjust steward of Luke 16 who was commended for being shrewd, V:8. There is nothing new under the Sun, Eccles. 1:9; and no doubt the world has access to The Truth of Scripture and Science with no restrictions to capitalizing on an

Loved Of The LORD! To finish up this chapter I Might as well throw this out there too. Almost 30 years ago, my Sister & her Hub, were going to a 4 Square in Central Cal, which made it easy for us to move into the "Word Of Faith" Camp. When we were re-committed we were attached to a painting contractor, who subed work from me. We not only became close friends, he eventually became my Apostle Paul and his wife & he were a part of WOF, also, down here in SoCal.Now this camp, I guess you could say sect, was maligned as, "Blab It & Grab It", "Name It & Claim It" and were teaching more than the 'basics' of what the 2007 internet hit ‘The Secret’ touched on, yet from a Scriptural perspective and in more depth. Because of my own personal studies I watched them close and as even today, I still do not agree completely with any preacher/teacher today in every aspect of their position, which I believe has more to do with The unique Personal Relationship than anyth

We enjoyed the cruise and did not even get off at the three different ports we visited. A well needed change of pace. Tho I did not need the extra pounds that I wound up with. To continue: 1st of all to (Probably) blow you away, I know by The Scripture Itself that the traditional Church that the masses of Christ ians go to today, does not even remotely look like the 1st century Church, that is described in the New Testament. Catholic, Pentecostal, Baptist, Methodist, C of C, Anglican. Nazarene, Episcopal, Sectarian, & even the cults that say they are the real Christian Church, et al. The 1st church did not sit in rows and look at the back of heads, while one up in front (elevated or not) told the rest, ... what GOD was saying. ANOTHER Chapter later on. I find the early Church Sitting or standing or doing both in a circle, facing each other, if not on their face, and GOD Speaking thru them & to them. 1Cor. 14 pretty well covers this, at least as I read

Chapter Two --The Maze: Loved Of The LORD! In the late 70s thru the 80s & into the 90s “Men’s Prayer time @ our home on Tuesday evenings. Another chapter: in itself. I believe it was in 79, One of the brothers had a vision about me being in this maze over & over again and before I would find my way out with that victory, I would just pop out of the maze every time before finishing it. When I asked him what it meant, he responded that he did not know. Knowing that it had to do with “The Evil Sin Of Unbelief” and even preaching about it at different times, I did not see the fullness of it until June or July of 2006. I knew at that time, that I would grab a hold of GOD’s Promises and walk in that belief for a short season, yet still knowing that it was my mouth that would throw the promise, away. When things did not seem like it was going in the right direction I would get bombed out & say out loud with my mouth, “Well I Guess That Is Not Going T

There never seems to be enough time to do all one has planed. So it is so easy to put it all off, because you cannot get it all done. There comes a time, Eccl. 3, when one needs to put the things they have been taught into Action and go beyond just teaching & encouraging others. WOW how the truths that I have taught for 30years, all of a sudden seem to make, not only more sense, yet reveals how much more there is yet to partake of. Hang on, more to come! Chapter 2 next week.

Ok, a day behind, yet not a dollar short! To continue on from Friday the 7th of September. I want to thank The Wife of my youth, The Lovely Marilyn, who has stood by me, supported and encouraged me in so many ventures and adventures in nigh unto 5 decades + of Marital Learning & Communication. Also my Family, the natural & spiritual children who have contributed to who I am. To those Brethren who were so instrumental in challenging the box, (way of thinking), that I had bound My LORD JESUS in. And my good friend and Sister in The LORD, Kath Salomons, who was an associate I was working with in the educational field for nigh unto 10 years who we met face to face for the first time last Nov, 2006. She has been an encourager and thought provoker for so many years and will proof read & edit this new enterprise that is now before me in its entirety. Book Review Joseph’s Bones
2007-09-09 14:19:00
Loved Of The LORD I just finished reading this book & I thought you might be interested in another direction I invested in. Joseph ’s Bones Understanding The Struggle Between God And Mankind In The Bible Jerome M. Segal Being a believer and follower of Jesus for thirty years, reading this work was somewhat a strain to do, as Jerome Segal suggests, to set aside my beliefs and read with an open mind. This was indeed a trek in unexplored space for me. Yet another review to add to my list I found Jerome Segal to be an astute student and scholar of the bible. His extensive knowledge and understanding of Holy writ is obviously displayed in this in-depth critical analysis and perspective. Segal sets aside conventional, theological and accepted views and uses Scripture (Those he chose.) alone to radically present his contentions. His analysis thru the Torah & Joshua (Hexateuch ) portrays GOD as a immature neophyte, who is omnipotent, yet not omniscience nor magnanimous. He

Ok! Loved Of The LORD, ... I'm BackHow many people that I know … and so many more that I do not, have a lost feeling about their place, i.e. “Where they are to function” in The Body Of Christ ? For so many years knowing that I belonged by The Word Of GOD, yet always questioning the place I would find myself in.Oh do not get me wrong, there are always times that I would be blessed & know where I was, was GOD’s will, yet people’s response or reaction to the things I would say or do, seemed to leave doubt. Knowing that I was a leader from an early age & also knowing that you always served an apprenticeship period and paid your dues, kept me strong in my pursuit of GOD’s will for my life and understanding HIS Word. Even writing this today, I have known that I would be writing it for some time, just as now it is being manifested and you might say, that I am “Taking the bull by the horns” and “JUST DOING IT”More on its way!

OK Some Explanations! Some of you might have some Qs on Yesterdays post. To Get Things Going! How about 'The Blab It & Grab It ' Police? In some Churches it is taboo to take The Scripture as truth. e.g. "You can have what you say!" Mark 11:23&24 and claim that anyone who says you can is from The 'Name it and claim it!' &/or 'Blab it & Grab it' sect, if not go all the way and call it a "Cult". They who partake of that mind set, I call, 'The Blab It & Grab It ' Police.BTW! I am learning how to do this "Blogging" as we go! :-0So that is one down and a few to go! More tomorrow. Any more Qs, Post me.Have a blessed evening, 1, as we all are about our FATHER's Business!Making A Difference And Helping Other People Reach Their Goals!

We (@ least U & me) have been put here, (Where ever that may be @ the Time) to find out how much GOD Loves us, ... to 'Know' (Somewhat) what 'Price Was Paid' and to 'Also Know' that U & I are debtors and that the accruing interest thru the past has been paid, by our obedience to HIS Direction, i.e. accepting what HE has done all (At The Cross) that all has been paid., Now as HE Publishes (Thru Us) that Truth to every other human being on the face of the earth, as HE directs. Cowboy Missionaries That Are Not Cowboys!

How far do you have to back up to get continuity? I will fill in this gap, as The Book progresses; To Continue:We met this family in a Church that “we found our selves in”, (A Story in Itself!) and to us they were believers … yet not judging, they seemed some what nominal to us. We tried every thing not to fellowship with them, except outright rudeness. Every Sunday and I mean ‘Every Sunday they invited us over to their house for dinner and fellowship. Now I did not need to Talk about GOD all the time, yet our conversations were always mundane and secular. When we would interject something a little bit spiritual, it very seldom got much traction. Nevertheless, we kept plugging along. And AND A N D we soon ‘Knew’ that GOD had put us together. And we became really good friends!FAMILY!This Church was basic Fundamental, Evangelical, Non Charismatic, where we could probably be labeled as Pentecostal who had served in a light … well Charismatic Denomination for over 20 years.(Th

“Cowboy Missionaries On The Go!” - - - - - - Re: 'Cowboy Crane Operators'
2007-11-25 12:55:00
I have a need to explain a little more about this term “Cowboy ”! Back in the late fifties and early sixties I was working on Missile Silos at Vandenberg AFB, and these Silos are around 200 feet deep. After we dug them and ‘slip formed’ the poured in place concrete, Structural Iron Workers erected the Crib Iron in the Silo. Most Iron Workers are Cowboys themselves, ‘Daring’ just a part of their characters. The crane operator was extremely good and would bring these men out of the hole in a ‘Man Cage’ and they would be egging him on, yelling and jumping, bouncing the cage. He got so that as soon as the cage cleared the hole, he would swing the boom quickly to half way between the hole & where the cage was supposed to be set down. As the cage was swinging really fast, he would agilely swing the boom over to where he would at the last minute gently placed the cage on the X that marked the landing spot. This operator was GOOD! And so, the Iron Workers called him a ‘Cowb

The Moscow experience for the Saws (I need to give them a last name for continuity.) is a story in itself. I will pick that up later. Remember that they are on their way to Moldova (Former USSR) in the cold of Winter and they make it as far as Minsk, the Capital of The Republic of Belarus. (Trivia = White Russia.) Jamie (Lets give them all a name.) the wife and Mother acquires a position in a Private business that provides a service to Diplomats & Dignitaries. I will mention ‘Tent Makers’ below. Patrick (Not his real name) is a full time Missionary that Ministers to anyone who will stand still long enough to hear the message. This group is about 75-80 % late teens & young adults, tho there are families and even singular Grannies & Gramps there too. Babushkas and Dadushkas. (Sp?) The Fonz For President / Henry Winkler

Last month My Wife & I invested 3 awesome days in SLC UT at Authors Conference and BookWise Convention. We had the pleasure of listening to many Published Authors and met several of them. When we were in line to get ‘The Fonz’ / Henry Winkler sign the books we had bought, my Wife showed him a ‘Button’ with ‘The Fonz For President ’ on it. She said, “I wanted to show you this” as he was signing all these books as fast as he could ---- He glanced up for a second and went back to signing the books as it was ‘No Big Thing’. After about 30 seconds (Seem like an hour!) quickly he looked up, snatched the button out of her hand, Signed it quickly and winked at her as he handed it back.My Wife's Prize Trophy For The Day!An autographed Campaign Button Of "The Fonz For President! 1 AKA DP, as I am about my FATHER’s Business! The Tentmaker
2007-12-16 14:21:00
Loved of The LORD! I wanted to start this post and address the term "Tentmaker"! When I wrote my deputation letter, I said, that I would work my way for my own support, while I was on Missions and was only looking for support for the home fires and making sure my wife was able to pay the bills, while I was gone. When this all "Came To Pass' I was reminded of Acts 18:3 and Paul's reference to sustaining him self Thru his trade. Being a General Contractor by Profession and a Carpenter by Trade, I figured I could find something I could do to keep a couple beans on the table. Therefore, I coined the term "Tentmaker' and used Acts 18:3 as the example. I had never heard it used that way in my 14 years of ministry. No doubt, others had used it before and since then I know it has been used that way. In fact, when I got a hold of Jamie Saw last month, she was in another country with no Religious Freedom and was using it as "A Talk Around" in case we were mon

Wow! How time flies!!! Well only two days behind. Here we go!!! Anyone who has went thru the process of getting Visa's, know that it is a learning experience. First The Passport and then receiving a letter of invitation from some legal entity in the Country you are requesting to visit. This letter was from a group of young Belorussian Christain men that Patrick had put together for this purpose and for getting "humanitarian Aid" into Minsk, for the Ministry. The group had to be made up of Nationals only. Russia was easy and the Russian travel agency in Hollywood had it all dialed in. The Travel Agency sent my Passport to Russian Embassy in San Francisco and because all the "T"s crossed and "I"s dotted (Naturally for a … … fee) was back in a couple days. Then "I" sent the Passport to The Belarusian Embassy in DC with Letter of invitation and two weeks later received the (Torn) empty envelope . Now I had to apply for another Pass Port and make several t

Cartoons And Comedians In The Church
2007-12-23 10:32:00
071221 I have just visited Jon Birch's "The Ongoing Adventures Of ASBO Jesus!" and I recommend you taking a look! Jon's Cartoons made me think and remember and I have to insert this thought in the middle of my story, because it is another look at who HE made me. Almost thirty years ago, the Zeal was prominent with out much finesse. As soon as I learned anything about the word … It Was Published! I would embarrass my wife, … what the Hey! I still do at times! During those years we were serving in the Local Assembly I would have enjoyed having a turn up front, yet because I took what I learned literally and seriously, it was considered borderline "Faith Movement" (See: Where Do I Fit In The Body Of Christ? VI ) … If not "Blab It And Grab It!" and was never allowed to be up front with out a muzzle on. Nevertheless, anyone with a Guitar around their neck and who could carry a tune … at least in a bucket … was given free reign to spew anything t

Cowboy Missionary Activities
2008-03-03 11:42:41
Loved Of The LORD, as I go along I will drop in different activities that a Cowboy Missionary find themselves doing, this post being one. You might find this bizarre, yet it makes a general point to what follows. While ministering in our own ‘Hood’ (Neighborhood back Home) some of the homeboys would tell me that they were going to a different town to get away from the influence of their peers and the supply of their addiction that was always stumbling them. Nevertheless, when I would see them months or years later, I would hear the same stories repeatedly. Finding themselves in a different place it was only hours, if not minutes that they would hook up with the same type of crowd. This must be typical with almost any kind or type of crowd. Missionaries are not any dif

Missions: Hands On Training!

It must have been early evening when our train left Moscow, because I believe, it was early morning when we got to Minsk. Hadley and his crew were there to escort Ulia and to meet me, and Patrick and his family along with the gang that they had assembled to whisk me off to the Belarusian Daily happenings after I thanked Ulia for all the help..The Saws had continued their domestic ministry of inviting people back in the States , mostly young men and women, around fifteen to twenty+ year olds, to their home even here in Minsk. After every Bible study there was always refreshments that ranged from different kinds of fruits to some times even big sausages that they would boil then serve hot later in the evening. You could watch them put on weight, especially the young men, as the economy

Loved Of The LORD, need to give you a little more of this “Won Preacher’s” Domestic Ministry to lead into the next Story. To preface even this portion, I have to go back three decades to re-commitment to The LORD, as my Savior and making HIM LORD of my life. Remembering seeing seasoned believers watching me (And Helping me grow.) with a big smile on their face. Myself being blessed and basking in the deliverance from Alcohol, Tobacco and a Filthy Mouth partaking of that Real Live Zeal for GOD and HIS Ways, that never shadowed by the neophyte finesse that was always present. I always came forth with a “Praise The LORD!” at Every opportunity, never intimidated by who may be present. Laying hands on and praying at the drop of a dime. Today I still enjoy being around a F

Faith Under Pressure Part 2 (Trip To Moldovia)
2008-03-02 21:11:37
Loved Of The LORD, as you who are following this story know; one of the main reasons for me to make this adventure was to encourage and help the Saws get down to Moldovia (Now called Moldova). We needed to make an explorative trip to see where they would set up a camp to operate. Pat had made a contact in Chisinau the Capitol City and the contact had requested some books in Russian by Word Of Faith authors … Preacher/Teachers for his little Church. So we started to put “Irons in the Fire” to get thing moving, My experience in my walk with The LORD is that it being a ‘Joint Venture’ that we start finding doors to go thru and HE Will open them before us. (Yet of course knowing that if it was not to be HE would use the Philippian Stop Sign . Php. 3:15)Because of the conglomerate or
