Gem in a sense that today when we are attacked with open sexual culture there is a site that is selling intimate clothing in a non-intrusive, colorful and likable way. I was amazed by the amount of effort this company put into creating this catalogue. All models are very beautiful and look like they were having lot of fun. And do not worry, site is work safe-ish

Should you hire a brilliant man or a mediocre guy instead? 2007-11-04 10:59:12 Although the choice seems obvious at first, there is more to the subject then meets the eye. In an article published in February 1924 issue of The American Magazine the author tells his experience about hiring brilliant men. It is a very enjoyable read and I warmly suggest it.
“Brilliant” men often have very strong emotionally driven periods during which they either become over-creative or overly-depressed. This leads to a habit not to finish jobs they start as their creative impulse moves them to another, more interesting project or idea. Simply they have seen the project being born in their minds, all ideas and aspects of it carefully analyzed and an outcome already predicted. But when it comes to actually doing it, brilliant men are often bored and not interested. They are in constant hunger for intellectual challenges and are indeed lazy for practical purposes. That is bad for employers as they often have to pay too much for their services (brilliant men tend to have

Stanford Guidelines for Web Credibility 2007-10-28 10:20:16 The guys at Stanford university have put together a list of things a web site needs to have in order to achieve maximum credibility. Credibility
itself is more important then any amount of search engine optimization or other tricks you may have. Adobe.com never run an internet SEO campaign yet they are one of the most credible sites on the internet (and best ranked too). Credibility equals rank.
1. Make it easy to verify the accuracy of the information on your site.
2. Show that there’s a real organization behind your site.
3. Highlight the expertise in your organization and in the content and services you provide.
4. Show that honest and trustworthy people stand behind your site.
5. Make it easy to contact you.
6. Design your site so it looks professional (or is appropriate for your purpose).
7. Make your site easy to use — and useful.
8. Update your site’s content often (at least show it’s been reviewed recently).

How does your brain work today? 2007-10-26 10:05:02 This is an interesting test. You need to look at the animation and tell if you see dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise. You will first say one thing and think how it is totally impossible that it can be turning the other way around. It turns out that not only it is possible but it happens because of which part of the brain is more active at the moment. If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa. I have managed to concentrate and turn it the other way around see if you can do it too!

New Google experimental features 2007-11-10 18:08:08 There are some quite nice features
coming up from Google
, currently still in beta experimental phase.
First one is alternate views, and it allows you to see results in timeline or maps mode. Both have their merits, and are a very nice new way to search for information.
Second one is my favorite, is called keyboard shortcuts mode, and it allows you to navigate the results using your keyboard. For example press ‘j’ key to move to next results and ‘enter’ to open it. It is very similar to bloglines keyboard navigation system if you are familiar with it.
And third is called search navigation which gives you more related results to your query in a useful sidebar.
I feel that combination of the three will certainly bring the search experience to a new level. And if you were ever wondering what are all the Google employees actually doing this was one of those things. Here is a experiment site.

Giola - Island of Thassos, exotic masterpiece of nature 2007-11-08 18:01:56 This summer I visited beautiful Greek island of Thassos. It was my first visit to Greece and I was very pleasantly surprised. The true gem of the visit was finding a place called Giola. These are the pictures I took there.
As you can see it is a beautiful natural lagoon, like a swimming pool carved into the rocks. Water is little bit warmer then outside sea which makes it extremely pleasant to swim in. Not many people know about it and it is extremely hard to get to.
Here is a video I made at the location.

Cool Links - Photos from Mars, Unusual Hotels, Fastest Police Cars 2007-11-15 15:49:35 I am a big admirer of astronomy so for this week’s cool links we have high res photos from Mars, and then there are some high res photos of Earth (still the best place to be and come home to!)
Traveling is one of my favorite activities. I just found about crazy and unusual hotels of the world, from underwater ones to fantasy castles.
I actually celebrated my 10,000-th day of life couple of years ago out of pure fun. Now you can calculate many other interesting anniversaries and throw a party for a particular reason.
And I like cars too, what do you say about world’s fastest police cars?
Here is your own funny chorus, click on animals to make music.

How to effectively use social media sites from a Webmaster perspective 2007-11-18 11:24:18 First a little disclaimer, I am not an expert in social bookmarking. I’ve used a couple, maybe a dozen of services, and slowly gathered experience. Now when I leveled to level 2 so to say, I feel I can write something on the matter.
What made me write this post is a recent “discovery”. Not all social media
sites are the same and not all “like” the same content. While this seems like a pretty obvious finding, it did not look like that to me at the beginning. When I submitted an article to stumbleupon or digg, I did not consider that target audience of those sites is very different and suboptimal for the type of content I was submitting. I was clearly not using the power of social media effectively. But that was about to change.
Recently I had to make a few tweaks and fixes on the site and as a result of that experience I wrote an article called Webmaster

Social Media sites vs Web Directories 2007-11-24 18:50:44 When Internet as we know it was in the beginnings, back in 1995-1996, finding information was not as easy as today. Search engines did not have smart algorithms and often information you got was not what you were looking for. Web directories became popular out of pure need. It was easier to find information by going to specific category and then going to an interesting site, then searching for it.
Today, we have search engines that provide us with relevant information instantaneously. But there are still a lot of web directories, thousands and thousands of them. What is their purpose?
Purpose of Web Directories
today
In theory, web and blog directories should give you three things.
Visitors will visit the directory to find information, then find your site and visit it.
Visitors will search for a term on a search engine, and a page from directory containing your site will appear in the search results and the visitor will come to your site again.

Revolution is happening - Crayon Physics Engine and Songza 2007-11-23 03:24:12 This week’s cool links have only two entries. But what a revolution they represent!
CrayonPhysics
Deluxe is a game featuring new type of physics engine. It took only 5 days to create because of it’s simplicity. And that’s the beauty of it. This had good potential to spawn a revolution in way games are made in the future.
Songza is a online music player that uses enormous database of youtube videos to find and play the songs you are searching for. With a beautiful design and yet again simple but revolutionary idea this service is heading for the bright future.

Why is Pilates good for Internet users and man in particular? 2007-11-22 13:14:54 It hurts! It hurts like nothing you tried before. You have no idea how much a series of small, innocent looking exercises can hurt a human body used to sitting in front of the computer. But don’t give up now! Read all!
Typical Pilates
exercise
I used the title on purpose because internet users
and man are two groups that could benefit from Pilates the most.
So what is Pilates exactly ? From Wikipedia: “Pilates was developed in early 20th century by a guy called Joseph Pilates. The program focuses on the core postural muscles which help keep the body balanced and which are essential to providing support for the spine In particular
, Pilates exercises teach awareness of breath and alignment of the spine, and strengthen the deep torso muscles, which are important to help alleviate and prevent back pain“. This is like invented for Internet
users, before Internet even existed.
I am fortunate to have a fitness center in my building, and that made it much easier deciding to
Have you ever heard of Savants? 2007-11-28 13:14:56 I often say “we live in an amazing and breathtaking world”. Everyday there are numerous opportunities to prove that. Recently I watched a documentary on savant syndrome and thought I might share a few thoughts with you.
Savants are people with exceptional mental abilities. And I mean really exceptional. We have learned to cope with teleportation, space travel, enormous size of the universe, UFO’s and accepted those amazing things as a normal parts of our lives. But trying to understand what is really happening in a mind of a person suffering from savant syndrome is far out of at least my reach. I said “suffering from” as it is medical term, but I really think “gifted with”.
Most savants have experienced some kind of accident in the early age. A head injury or a strong epileptic seizure. The accident triggered something amazing, something extraordinary. It opened a doorway to fantastic and often unimaginable abilities.

Spread your wings, fly the Flock 2007-11-27 17:12:58
Here is a little review of a new revolutionary web browser called Flock, the social browser. For those who have been around a while and made a transition to Firefox, you’ll be interested to hear that Flock is based on same Mozilla foundation like Firefox. For you who missed the Firefox revolution and still use their trustworthy Internet Explorer, never mind, you might have tuned in just in the right moment. And for those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, carry on reading if you are interested in how can you improve your web viewing experience.
What I like about Flock
Flock team has tried their best to change the way how we browse the Internet forever. To do that, they have integrated most of the aspects of Internet Social Media phenomena into the very browser itself.
To users of Firefox, changing to Flock will be a breeze. Flock will automatically import all of the Firefox settings including browsing history, cache, cookies and passwords. You only need to instal Read more:Spread
Entrecard mania and a Wordpress plugin 2007-12-05 08:00:44 Entrecard is a cool new widget for your blog that allows you to easily network with other bloggers or site owners. The service homepage is www.entrecard.com.
Basically what you do is make an electronic business card of your site with your logo and url. You can then leave your own card whenever you see an Entrecard box. By doing that you notify the site owner of your site and also you get one entrecard credit. Whenever someone drops their card to your box, you also get one credit. For credits you can “buy” advertisement space on other sites and your logo will stay on the site for one day. Very simple, free and friendly. Sign up and drop me a card!
I liked the idea so much I created a Wordpress
plugin that will ease the process of using Entrecard. The plugin is called Entrecard Me! and it is very easy to use. Just paste the code from Entrecard in the options menu and you are ready. Plugin is widget enabled, so you can easilly place it in your widget manager. Or if your them
Theme Test Drive Wordpress Plugin 2007-12-05 07:29:16 Ever since I started with this blog I have been toying around with many theme concepts. The problem is when you change a theme your visitors see the new, test theme too. That makes your blog look unprofessional. So I decided to use my programming skills and make a WordpressPlugin
that will allow the administrator to independently test any theme while the visitors still use the default one. That is how Theme
Test Drive was created.
When you install the plugin, go to Theme Test Drive Options found in Presentation menu and select any theme out of list of installed themes. Take a look at the site and you will see it in a new theme. Do not worry, your users will still use the default selected theme.
Visit Theme Test Drive plugin page.
