Call of Duty 4 Only Running at 720p? 2007-11-03 15:00:00 Thanks to a tip from a fellow reader, it seems that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare may only run at 720p.First off, the reader claims that the game looks absolutely breathtaking, but it only runs at 720p. The back of the box claims it supports 720p, 1080i, and 1080p, but his Samsung Full HD TV is only running it at 720p.His TV has been checked, he is using an HDMI 1.3 cable and the PLAYSTATION resolution is set at 1080p, but the game still only runs at 720p.To make sure it wasn't his TV, he tested other Full HD games, like NBA Street Homecourt, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and LAIR. directly to your PS3's hard drive. While this may sound excellent, it's not actually that exciting because your videos are recorded in a proprietary format, meaning you can't copy them to a memory stick and watch them on a computer. You can't even view them in the cross-media bar. You can only watch them through EyeCreate. The software itself is quite accomplished, reminiscent of simple video editors like iMovie. You can record clips, arrange them to create a sequence and apply effects, like slow motion and sepia tones. But until Sony release a version of EyeCreate that lets you create movies that can be shared with anyone on any system, it feels slightly redundant. It's a tech demo rather than a finished product.
