Re-Thinking Ezine Marketing - The Truth Hurts...
2007-10-22 13:35:00
This realization has been a long time coming and would be painful for most of us to admit and I guess that's why we put it off so long. Yes, I'm talking about the Extreme Ezine . My first impulse was to sneak in the changes and hope as few people as possible would notice but I believe this admission may help others. What's The Problem ?The Extreme Ezine is moving into it's fifth year of publication and has been a top priority since day one. Our subscriber base is large and it's at that point where it grows with very little advertising. So what's the problem? We us AWeber and they provide fantastic statistics that tell the truth no matter how bad it hurts. Our 'undeliverable' rate is low so our emails are getting through thanks to AWeber's SpamAssassin TM. That's about where the good news ends. Our open rate has been steadily dropping for over a year. Don't even get me started on our click through rates! We've had all the warning signs for quite some time that our p

I'm just blown away by Autopilot Advertising.
2007-10-07 09:25:00
I tried to avoid posting about the new Autopilot Advertising by Eva & Jules of Ezines-R-Us because I didn't want this Blog to become an advertising board. After spending some time setting up my Autopilot Advertising, I realize it would simply be an injustice to my readers and subscribers if I didn't mention it. I'm just blown away by Autopilot Advertising. You snooze you loose and I didI've had something very similar of my own brewing in the background for our future site All Pro Ads. We even decided on the same script several months ago. But as we were sitting on our hands taking our time Ezines-R-Us built an amazing package of advertising benefits that include memberships to many sites. I'm not at all insinuating Ezines-R-Us took my idea, the concept is not new at all. We were simply thinking along similar lines and they worked hard to get it done.It was a no-brainer!I joined the second I realized what it was. I'm well aware of the benefits such an advertising

Free Blog Traffic Tool
2007-09-16 00:25:00
A Little Free & Relevant Blog Traffic Can't Hurt...We have a new addition to our Blog sidebar and we're hoping it will send a few new readers our way. It's called BlogRush. Internet marketer John Reese of Income.com just released BlogRush a couple of days ago and you can already see the masses (marketers) promoting this new cool tool. Why The Fuss?So why are so many promoting this free tool that generates absolutely no affiliate income? It's simple, BlogRush generates free traffic with it's referral program and page impression tracking. Every time someone goes to a page where the widget is installed you get your blog links on some other blogs page. BlogRush also sorts it's participating blogs into categories so the traffic gained from the tool should be somewhat targeted. The referral system goes 10 levels deep and without re-writing the video on BlogRush.com you basically get traffic from your referrals just like network marketing.A few other benefits of this new blog traff

Private Label Rights - Another Information Product Solution
2007-09-15 14:49:00
Using Private Label Rights This is the second post on developing your own information products. Actually, 'acquiring' may be a better word than 'developing'. Many marketers have come to realize they simply don't have time to do it all. My last post was about using a ghostwriter and in this piece I'll focus on Private Label Rights to acquire the necessary information products to profit from internet marketing.A personal noteThis is right off my last post but I thought it important enough to repeat here.Keep in mind, you are a marketer. You may or may not be a good writer or programmer. Using these and other methods allows you to market your own products without having the skills or time to create them. If you feel outsourcing for product development is deceptive or unethical, then I'd encourage you to take a look at off-line business. If you go to Sears and buy a Craftsman table saw, who made it? Craftsman doesn't manufacture anything, neither does Sears. All you need to do is

Ghostwriter - An Information Product Solution
2007-08-21 16:38:00
Using a ghostwriterThis is the first of a short series of posts on developing your own information products. In this first post I want to remind you of a fantastic way of developing your own quality information products without taking the time to actually write them. I say it's a reminder because I'm sure most of us have heard of ghostwriting before but I thought it worth mentioning again in light of the recent internet marketing trend of low and no cost information products to develop lists.A personal note Keep in mind, you are a marketer. It's just the seven dollar beginning...
2007-08-12 21:45:00
In my last post I told you about a couple of ingenious reports by Jonathan Leger The $7 Report. Today I decided to put a little of that knowledge and software to use with a new product I just purchased called Exit Prophet Pro. Now anyone can sell Exit Prophet Pro without any of the usual steps normally required to earn commissions as an affiliate. In fact, there is no affiliate signup and you earn 100% of the sales price. The entire $7 is sent directly to your PayPal account. No editing and uploading a sales page on your site. :: No editing and uploading a sales page on your site.:: No hiding download links from would-be software thieves.:: No bandwidth concerns:: No affiliate applications to worry about.Just simply promote the link using your PayPal email address and we handle everything else.http://www.isentyou.com/Exit_Prophet/?e=YOUREMAILADDRESSIt's just the seven dollar beginning...This was just a quick and simple text of the The $7 Report. Why's The Candy So Cheap? - The Seven Dollar Trend
2007-08-04 07:28:00
Remember way back in grade school when you were taught that selling one piece of candy for a dime was the same as selling 10 pieces of candy for a penny each, only more kids got candy with the later? Then later you realized there was a difference, you had to work a little harder to sell ten items. For some time now we've been seeing internet marketers selling penny candy and it was hard to understand. I just chalked it up to the 'sheep' mentality. I'm not going to make any friends by saying this but it seems that when a marketer appears to have success you have an entire herd of sheep trying to replicate it. There's nothing wrong with replicating successful tactics, that's not who I'm referring to. I'm talking about those that follow suit so precisely there is no original thought going into anything they do. Want proof? How many products have you seen with a $97 price tag? And $47? I know many are simply reselling at the required or recommended price but look how many mark

A new spin on outdoor advertising!
2007-07-05 19:54:00
As much as I love advertising, I can't imaging enduring the job of being a human advertising sign - or at least the guy holding the sign. My son, now grown, worked for a very short time for a flower shop dressed up as a panda bear holding a sign up on the corner. Can you think of anything more boring? Or for a teenager, more humiliating? That was then and this is now. Leave it to California to put a spin on something so bland and turn it into a flashy trend.Back in 2002 a couple of college students, Max Durovic and Michael Kenny, in San Diego got board with their street-corner human billboard jobs and began developing tricks and cool moves with the hand-held signage. This type of head turning extreme advertising draws attention! Fast forward a bit and we get yet another American success story as these two creative men formed Aarrow Advertising. Aarrow Advertising's "sign spinners" are all over the net, including YouTube and large media such as the L.A. Times and NPR.These

Selling The Moon
2007-05-08 21:22:00
Who says you can't have the moon and stars? We've all seen the success of the International Star Registry and now there are many different companies promising the moon and the stars. The Lunar Registry™ sells lunar real estate. Prices for customers in the US and Canada range from $18.95/acre to $37.50/acre.Perhaps the coolest thing about The Lunar Registry, at least to us marketers, is the radio promotional program they developed called 'Moon Someone!™'. Basically, in exchange for appropriate and prominent credit and promotional consideration, The Lunar Registry will provide radio stations prize packages for the stations to use in their contests. I love this simple idea and who ever put this plan into action has my respect. Check it out here.Lunar Embassy sells land on the moon for 29.99 to $59.99 an acre. The Lunar Embassy makes the following claims: • Over 2,000,000+ people from 176 countries around the world own extraterrestrial property. • To date, more than 3

The Battle For Email Deliverability
2007-04-15 18:10:00
In today's fight against spam, many ISPs filter emails using a technique called "content filtering". Content filtering looks at the words, links, and images to determine if that message is likely spam. That ISP may block the message from being delivered to the subscriber if they believe it may be spam. A message that is incorrectly filtered is called a "false positive". This occurs when a subscriber has specifically opted in for the email but the ISPs filtering program mistakenly classifies it as spam. Hurt by your own subscribersMembers of AOL, Gmail, Hotmail, Earthlink, Outblaze, Road Runner, Excite and others can push a button to report a message as spam. Unfortunately many people push the button when they no longer wish to receive the newsletter rather than unsubscribing. Some don't realize what they are doing and just do it so your future emails go into their spam box. If the number of complaints gets too high, ISPs may block your messages altogether.Advertisers can be the

Have You Searched eBay For Advertising Ideas?
2007-04-07 23:03:00
EBay can be a real source for finding that perfect advertising solution if you're willing to look for it and do a little research before you place your bid. From forehead advertising to banner ads someone on eBay has it. You can find people willing to brand their body parts using temporary tattoos with your logo to people willing to dress up in a costume and carry your banner at public events. The various advertising you can find on eBay will range from under a dollar to tens of thousands of dollars or more. A one month text ad for $0.99 to someone offering their RV to be wrapped for a mere $20,000. You can find people willing to advertise on their vehicles, their clothes and even their bodies.Advertising products are abundant on eBay too. How cool would a 25' tall inflatable dinosaur promoting your grand opening be outside of your building? Billboards to balloons, it can be found on eBay. Small time website owners to professional advertising agencies all looking for the

NASCAR - A Marketer's Dream Come True...
2007-04-01 11:51:00
National Assn. for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR ) may be the second-highest rated sport on television, but from a Marketer 's stand point, I'm a huge fan of the marketing gold mine it has become. NASCAR has one of the most visually appealing array of colorful advertising in one spot than any other median I've seen. Consider the exposure for a second. Dozens of sponsors displaying hundreds of colorful graphics to thousands of NASCAR fans that happen to be circled around the marketing heaven called the track. Then throw in the cameras and it's a view for the world to see, logos and slogans holding the attention of millions as they travel at 180 miles an hour. Now with a nine-month season that adds up to a lot of exposure. The marketing has only just begun with the actual cars wrapped in advertising. Look at the uniforms, pit crew, billboards, and TV cams. How about the TV commercials during the race? And don't even get me started on the merchandising gear!As If All That Wasn't Enough

Crude Video Remix Gets National Exposure - For Free!
2007-03-20 23:30:00
Without getting into the politics of it, I can't help but get a little impressed when a little marketing scheme takes hold and gets national attention. This morning while sipping coffee and going over my emails I watched ABC report on an unknown person that made a video remix of the now famous '84 Super Bowl Apple Computer's commercial. The ad has been showing on YouTube since March 6th and at the time of this post has been watched well over 365,000 times. The poster, xxxgrimREAPERx, only had this to say on the page;"Vote for a change!I'm just an Obama supporter.I did not create this video. Thanks."According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the Obama campaign claims it had nothing to do with the video. Whether it did or not, I say it's a huge success in the business world. The product, the political message, has been all over the news and the net from what appears to have been a crude video edit posted on a free video hosting site. It doesn't get much simpler, or cheaper th

Bad Customer Service Sets You Apart... From Profits
2007-03-17 12:19:00
Customer Service has always been a big issue with me. I may be a little more picky than some but when I want to reach a business I would like to do it without spending an entire week of leaving messages and sending emails. That's why I try my best to make myself available. What got me thinking about this topic again was two different situations that happened over the last week. The first was a fast food restaurant. I was stopping by a client's office and we were going to work through lunch. He asked me to grab lunch from a particular fast food restaurant on the way over. I've been to this restaurant before and I know they can be very slow so I decided to call ahead and place my order. I was told on the phone I could not order ahead unless I spent at least $50.00. She said I would have to come in and order in person. I ended up waiting over fifteen minutes to get to the front of the line and another ten minutes for the food. Twenty-five minutes to get a few tiny little hamburgers (Yep,

Beamvertising/Laser Advertising, Extreme Marketing At It's Best
2007-03-04 02:33:00
It's not a new concept but it never gets boring and surprising it's still more or less uncharted territory. Call it Beamvertising or Laser Advertising , the moving outdoor laser billboard of a skateboarder to promote SportLife, A chewing gum company in Holland, dominates the net with any search. From an open van, PPGH/JWT used high power laser to project the ad across several buildings along a busy street. This innovative campaign proved to be an attention getter from pedestrians and other drivers but the real payoff has to be the world wide exposure they've received from the popular YouTube video. You can see the short SportLife ad skateboarding through hundreds of Blogs all over the net.So is it worth considering for your next ad campaign? The expense will certainly deter the very small businesses but like anything else, if the beamvertising technology sticks, the price will come down. In order to be effective, a very unique and attention grabbing ad in the right place at the righ

Using Trade Characters Like The Big Boys...
2007-02-11 20:03:00
Developing brand awareness using trade characters can seem like an expensive and huge task when you consider the corporate scale of the big boys like Keebler and General Mills. And of course they have the millions to go into market research, brand developing, multiple mass media marketing campaigns etc.. Truth be told, they have the capital to make what would have been bad campaigns work.As small online business owners do we need to dismiss the idea of developing a fictitious character for our brand building? Can Trade Characters be developed and used effectively on a much smaller scale? I think it's within our grasp but first lets look at exactly what trade characters are and who are using them.Trade characters are used to build brand awareness and add personality to a product, company or issue. You can pay for the right to use an already developed and popular character such as General Mills did with Rocky and Bullwinkle or like both Winston Cigarettes and Flintstones Vitamins di

Generating Inbound Links For SEO
2007-01-07 12:09:00
We all know that inbound links are one of the key steps to increasing page rank and are critical in the search engine optimization (SEO ) game. You don't want just any site linking to yours, you want quality and relevant links. Of course one- way links are best and well established sites with high page ranks themselves are the ultimate goal but it takes work or money. Establishing one way links to increase you SEO is what I want to address today. Here are a few ideas to get you started:1. Design your website with a title page, table of contents, chapters, etc. and market it as a free web-book. Just allow other people to give away the web book by linking to your website. You can even give each site that offers your web-book to others a free custom splash page. The splash page could say something like, "Compliments of YourReferralSite.com".2. When you visit a web site that's relevant to yours and you think is of high quality and impressed you, write a review for the site and o

'Less-Than' Educated Predictions for 2007
2007-01-01 02:32:00
'Less-Than' Educated Predictions for 2007Is it me or does 2007 seem to feel just like 2006? Of course it's all about what we make of it and it's a great time to re-evaluate yourself and your business. Overall, why should a new year be any different than any other? It's just a number right? Wrong!...With so many changes throughout every year we need a marker, a chapter, a pull tab, a way to organize things mentally so we can get our minds around events and do our best to guide them in the right direction.Sure, some things never seem to change. In business, we can be sure certain niches will still reign supreme while others are poised to spring into action unexpectedly and grab that much desired attention. I don't see big niches such as Health, Weight loss, Pets, Golf and Poker dieing down at all.In 2004 we watched online casinos and poker skyrocket into unbelievable profits.2005 was the big beginning for Scrapbooking, Texas Hold 'Em and iPod!We could call 2006 the year of Social

Affiliate Marketing Is A Big Waste Of Time Without This!
2006-12-24 11:57:00
Discover The 'TRUE' Money-Making Tactic That Every Successful Affiliate Marketer Already Knows...Affiliate Marketing has turned out to be BIG Business and it's popularity is still on the raise with no end in site. It stands to reason too. Affiliate marketing benefits both the marketer and the program owners. Affiliate marketing allows those unable or unwilling to create or buy their own product the opportunity to profit very nicely from other people's products and services. While almost anyone can be an affiliate marketer, affiliate marketing is not for everyone. The truth is that most people will make nothing or very little with affiliate marketing, some will add to other sources of online income steams and a few will make a full time living at it. The very best have and will continue to become very wealthy as affiliates. While there are many reasons for the wide margins of success, most of which are the same in every marketing endeavor, today I want to focus on linking methods used

Wow, Are Safelists Being Attacked Again?
2006-12-05 21:05:00
We go through the stages of our internet marketing careers at different paces and sequences, and in many cases, we get in our own way. That's why we find those marketers that we can relate to and who appear successful and to some degree follow their lead. You can call them a mentor, and if you're lucky you will have several. You don't have to personally know them in order to admire their work and attempt to raise to their level as you see it.So what do you do when one of your secret mentors is so dead-set against what you're doing that they publicly denounce it as bogus and ineffective? Well, I guess you would probably take an honest look and see if they are correct. After all, you value their opinion don't you?Ok, before I go any further, let me clear up one detail. I am referring to an actual person and I do not personally know this person but I have enjoyed his e-mail newsletter for quite some time. And he's not really a 'mentor' to the degree that I would follow his every m

C’mon! It Can’t Be THIS EASY To Build A List … Can It?
2006-12-03 13:11:00
So you think you want a list? Well, let me say, "you MUST have a list!" Unless you are one of that rare 1% that has perfected the system of using everyone else's list without offering your own, building a high quality list should be your number one project. Once you have your list, your number one priority should be building and maintaining that list and new lists!I said a high quality list - not a huge list of useless names and emails you buy from one of those 'leads for pennies' sites. Stay far far away from those people. They'll get you into trouble quicker than you can say, "Federal Trade Commission"!A few ideas:There are tons of ways to build a large and responsive list. Of course at the top of the list are Ezines/Newsletters and then membership sites such as Safelists, Forums and niche sites. Affiliate programs are great and don't forget Joint Ventures. I get a new job - Site Reviewer...
2007-10-23 20:44:00
It wasn't that long ago when I was asking a friend what is a 'Blog'. I think it was in early 2005, the same year I started this Blog. I'm sure I was probably one of the last ones to catch on but now I have to admit that I'm hooked. I've done a lot of Blogging lately and I'm amazed at the amount of really great content out their. I'd even go as far as using the words 'creative genius' with many of the Blog authors I've found. With all of the fantastic Blogs and sites online, it just came to me a few hours ago while devouring a couple of cool Blogs that I should start a new category or, label if you will, for this Blog. I'll call it 'Site Reviews'. I know, very unique right? There are a ton of directories and review sites out there but that's not what I want to do. I'm not qualified to rate sites in that manner anyway. I just want to give a little credit to those sites that really impress me. And of course they will relate to internet marketing in some way or another

To Follow or No Follow
2007-11-07 22:17:00
"The Extreme Site promotions Blog DOES NOT use the 'No Follow' tags"First of all, while on the subject let me just say, "The Extreme Site promotions Blog does not use the 'No Follow' tags".With that out of the way, there's been a little buzz lately about blogs using tags that allow comment links to open for search engine crawlers to follow the link thereby earning the comment posted a link-back that may boost page rank.Personally, I'm going to comment on something of interest whether no follow tags are used or not. That may be why my page rank isn't way up there. I would like to see more comments and participation so maybe commenting on the right blogs would help bring search engine traffic but I still believe it's all about building relationships. For those that want to find blogs that have page rank and don't add the no follow tags Munya Chinongoza has a very cool script for just $5. Squeeze In Your Squeeze Pages
2007-11-25 13:20:00
I have a quick tip that may help you get a few more sales or subscribers. This concept is not new but perhaps it will help a few readers that haven't seen it yet or have even forgotten about the idea. One great place to put lead capture pages in are directories on your site that don't use an index page. Normally I would setup a quick index page with a re-direct back to the main site. For example, say someone comes across one of my graphics in a Google search. Perhaps they want to see what else I have for them to grab so they strip off the page 'graphic_example.gif' and go to the actual directory 'www.mysiteexample.com/images'. Instead of seeing a list of graphics they would be sent to my main page.Great for protection but we can make better use of that real estate...Instead of the index page with a re-direct script, wouldn't it be better to use a lead capture page or squeeze page? Here's an example. On one of our sites we use a directory to place our weekly free downloads called

In just a few hours thousands of Bloggers will take their power to the streets and display it with an act of kindness for others.
