Jealous?? Me??
2007-10-26 05:07:18
Well chatting to DJB again yesterday, It turns out his Wii, after a month of bing in transit, arrived and got through Cypriot customs on th 23rd, and has been told it SHOULD be in Paphos post office for him to collect by today. So he’s gonna go round with every single piece of documentation possible, and will even stage a sit-in at the post office if it’ll help him get his console.  Anyway he sent me one or two pics from Paphos, and joked that you cant get a view like the one from the KFC window over there…. Lovely view, shame about the food… Another nice view… Also he sent me this photo that his mate took a while back during some thunder storms.  I think this is once amazing piece of photography, thus it’s now my desktop image on my work computer 9 Bolts of lightning at once   I really wanna go over and visit Cyprus, and have a few beers with DJB, as he seems to provide me with numerous random stories that keep me chuckling to myself for

The International Council of Man Laws
2007-10-25 10:34:56
Not very original… but made me chuckle non-the-less 1: Under no circumstances may two men share an umbrella. 2: It is OK for a man to cry ONLY under the following circumstances: a) When a heroic dog dies to save its master. b) The moment Angelina Jolie starts unbuttoning her blouse. c) After wrecking your boss’s car. d) One hour, 12 minutes, 37 seconds into “The Crying Game”. e) When she is using her teeth. 3: Any Man who brings a camera to a bachelor party may be legally killed and eaten by his buddies. 4: Unless he murdered someone in your family, you must bail a friend out of jail within 12 hours. 5: If you’ve known a guy for more than 24 hours, his sister is off limits forever… unless you actually marry her. 6: Moaning about the brand of free beer in a buddy’s fridge is forbidden. However, complain at will if the temperature is unsuitable. 7: No man shall ever be required to buy a birthday present for another man. In fact, even rememberi

Lost in Transit…
2007-10-25 04:57:58
Even tho I have never actually met DJB, Not that either of us remember anyway, I seem to have a good friendship with the lad, and we seem to have a joke about on the net and on google talk. Yesterday it took him the best part of a day to format and re-install windows onto a laptop (Even tho he is one of them geeky techno-types… altho he’s a developer not a designer as he’s told me before ha ha). Anyway… Back in march he did a blog post, talking about how much he wanted a Nintendo Wii, and how great he thought they were LINK. Anyway a good few weeks back he ordered one from the states or something, and it seemed to take an age to update the tracking info. Anyway after about 2 weeks, he found out it was in Amsterdam, and I joked that it was doing touristy things, like visiting the Red Light district, and to make sure he cleans his Wii when it arrives, for want of some disease Anyway thats the last he’s heard of it! The bloke at the other end has pro

Spotted in the Chad today…
2007-10-24 06:30:12
WOW! Reading the Chad online and came across this little news story… RAVENSHEAD team Kirk Motorsport are celebrating victory in the British Drag Racing Championships finals at Santa Pod Raceway in Bedfordshire. Kirk Motorsport were searching for their first national championship win and driver Andy Kirk, in his 8,500cc, 1200 horsepower 1967 Chevrolet Camaro, went into the final meeting just 300 points in the lead. But Andy, a keen Stags fan (his MTFC bage in the back window of the race car is thought to be the fastest Mansfield Town badge in the world!) emerged victorious. He has been involved in the sport for over 25 years, was delighted with his win and can’t wait for 2008, during which he will attempt to defend his title. “It’s a great feeling to be crowned champion at last” said Andy. “In a sport such as drag racing, where races are won and lost over a thousandth of a second, the car, driver and the whole team have to be working as one. “This year we have really s

Flaming Heck!!
2007-10-24 02:57:58
My god! Anyone know any sexy masseuse’s in the Mansfield are, who’s free tonight?? Jesus I am aching like hell this morning! Yesterday was pretty much like most others at work atm! Quiet and its a case of looking for the odd thing to do to help someone else and things, unless you’re the sit on your arse type, then you just sit there nodding off, moaning, coughing and passing wind Anyway enough about Maddsy and Geoffrey ha ha ha! I think I may have got Maddsy into Prison Break! He’s decided that he wants all my Prison Break, so he can start watching it and make his own mind up! I chatted to DJB for a bit, and he was chuckling about one of the comments he’d read in my Firefox vs IE thread a few blogs back! And we both actually agreed that Safari is by far the better browser He was also directing me to bits in the theme editor, so I can get rid of the borders around the smilies, and also change one or two colours. Think I may have another chat wit

Cheer up Martin Jol…
2007-10-23 03:06:54
Oh what can it mean… to a Tottenham supporter and a… SHIT FOOTBALL TEAM More later. Yesterday at work was mundane to say the least! With his royal highness back from the shores of Hong Kong, telling stories of how he hooked up with a few Russian Virgin Lady boys or sommat (Whatever floats his boat I suppose, WE MUST NOT JUDGE HIM FOR IT THO!!) and being in restaurants with crocodiles having their head chopped off. Other than that not a great deal happened tbh. Stevie was waiting for Maddsy outside after work, and as he was on the phone, I stood and had a bit of a chat with her about this and that, whilst pulling faces and waving at my mate Kieran who’d just woken up in the back of the Merc find it very rare that me and Stevie actually have a proper chat! Cos we’re both normally looking after the kids She;s normally sorting Craig out, and I have the other 3 chasing me round the house ha ha Luckily for me, John text me earlier in the day saying 6.15 a

Old habits die hard..
2007-10-22 07:39:22
Well the old adage…. “If it aint broken, don’t fix it” Is something that pops up every now and again. Seems its something me and my dad dont seem to take any notice of We’re never happy unless we’re trying to mess about with something. This time it’s the digi-box! We’d both managed to break ours, and so my dad fixed it. Now he seems to be spending most of his time messing about with it, adding channels into his favourites! This is exactly how I managed to break mine in the first place Every available moment he had during the Rugby World Cup final, he was channel hopping, trying to find channels he watches regular, to add to his faves. This is something that I’ve ended up doing now! So I expect to break my digi-box soon enough HAHAHA Must be a male trait

Trials and Tribulations of an English Sports Fan!!
2007-10-22 03:41:40
Well aint it been a rather shite week to be a supporter of english sport!! First of all there is the continuation of the horror show that is Steve McLaren in charge of England. A national team that is meant to be the “Golden Era” of english football, is fast becoming the laughing stock of international football. Given what was considered one of the easiest groups to qualify from (specially given the group Scotland were given) and we’ve struggled along, and looks likely we’re gonna limp over the line with extended holidays for the english lads. Then saturday night, the show piece of the Rugby calander. For 4 years since England won the World Cup against all the odds, we’ve basically been shit. Even in the first few games of this World Cup we’ve been shit. But you cant fult the commitment the lads made during the quarters, semi and final! On another day Mark Cueto’s “try” would possibly have been given, and the whole complex of the

Firefox vs Internet Explorer
2007-10-19 08:34:54
I’ve been having a debate with Mr Kirk, about which is the better one for browsing the Internet .  This is due to Internet Explorer messing up my blog when I copy something from the internet into a blog post, yet in firefox it works fine! Thus me not knowing whats gone off till I get an email from an IE user saying “You’re blog has fucked up again” So that got me thinking.. (rather than go through my stats and try and find out) Which one do my readers use? Since Olly showed me the light when he worked at Mini-Marquees I’ve used Firefox all the way! So what do you use/prefer? Or is there another one you tend to use? *mac users may not apply*

It’s working again!!
2007-10-19 04:00:53
So yesterday was pretty dull again at work! Which to be fair has happened every year for the last 10 years I’ve been here   Had my usual email chat with Fee to keep each other sane, and also the bahrainian, until he left work with emails unanswered *rollseyes* Helen text earlier in the day, asking if I fancied the Rushley for the quiz, so thought why not, and replied that I’ll be there dependant upon what time I go to the gym.  Then Ant text me pretty much asking the same thing, and also telling me that he’d read my comment on his blog *HIGH 5 again* but couldnt reply.  Had a bit of a chat with Ant, and he’s one of them that I get on with, but hardly ever seem to speak/see much of.  Hopefully I’ll start going out at the weekends a bit more again soon, as he’s told me I’ll need my Jedi cloak, as he’ll teach me the ways of the force (this is mansfield tho ant! Dont get too carried away) And also next time i’m out its my birth

Woohoo!!
2007-10-18 05:14:58
So work was as per usual this time of year… steady to quiet. Got a rather polite message from Mark saying “Dont think about fucking clocking off early” to which my reply was just… “We’ve brought a telly in anyway so dont worry” then Maddsy text me asking what time we kicked off! Not knowing wether he meant Chinese time or Greenwich Mean Time, so just said 4 mate, which is past your pairs bed time. Then I got a reply saying he’d seen a Crocodile having it’s head chopped off, before being eaten or sommat! ermmm SUPER! Something for the memory banks that mate Nipped home at dinner to see if DHL had tried to deliver my new phone, and sat watching “This Morning” Whilst having a few slices of wholemeal toast , but no sign of a delivery card! Bugger! Later in the afternoon me and my old mucker Crit were busy trying to find a bloody radio that would work on Radio 5 Live, but to no avail, and cos Geoffrey prohibits any sort

Naaaa then guvnor!
2007-10-17 03:30:04
For some reason now i’ve been to “Landon Town” I feel the need to try and be a cockney geezer   It was so funny the 5 of us walking round the mean streets of Camden putting on fake cockney accents, and being typically laddish in our manner.  i.e. Walking with the typical swagger, in the middle of the road, and generally being all yobish! Like I said in mondays blog, I really enjoyed it, and having spoken to Malc on saturday, we’re gonna try and do it again some time in the near future! Be mint if Stags ever made it! Monday at work was really quiet, with us not having Mark or Maddsy who are currently looking at adopting a few Pandas and maybe as its a company trip, they may even find a supplier or something, rather than looking for random Irish Bars and places that serve English food When in Rome hey Maddsy ROFL Didnt go to the gym monday night, cos John had other plans, so I basically bummed around at home, and went on the Xbox! Managed to batter some poo

The White Lads on Tour!!
2007-10-15 07:12:17
Well lets start where I left off on the last proper blog … Wednesday I picked Fee up bout 7:30ish and we went over to the new pub opposite Asda, and met up with Bruton and Vicky. We all decided to eat, but were told that there was an hour wait for a table, and it’d be another 3-0/35 minutes before we got anything to eat! So quick group discussion, and we decided to head over to the Rushley for some food instead. Ant, Ollie, Alanman and Claire met us just before we set ff, so we told them the plan, and all went our seperate ways to get there. Still didnt have an appetite in the pub, but ordered Cajun Chicken, cos i’d seen fee’s the other friday, and love chicken so thought i’d give it a try. We didnt stay in the pub too long, cos fee wanted an early night, and I wanted to drop a card off for someones birthday, and then have an early night, which was met with disapproving glances from certain people who knew where I was going Got home around 10, and fo

Vodka used for Medicinal use..
2007-10-10 11:18:09
Very random news story here!! SYDNEY (AFP) - Australian doctors revealed Wednesday that they drip-fed an Italian tourist a steady dose of vodka over three days to save his life after he poisoned himself. The 24-year-old man was taken to a north Queensland hospital two months ago after he swallowed a large amount of a potentially-fatal substance found in antifreeze in an apparent suicide attempt. Doctors at Mackay Base Hospital decided the best method of saving the unconscious man’s life was to reverse the effect of the poison, ethylene glycol, by giving him pharmaceutical-grade alcohol. Dr Pascal Gelperowicz said that once the hospital’s alcohol supplies ran out doctors sent out for a case of vodka and the unusual drip was set up. “We quickly used all the available vials of 100 percent alcohol and decided the next best way to get alcohol into the man’s system was by feeding him spirits through a nasal-gastric tube,” Gelperowicz said. His colleague Dr Todd

Thats exactly how I feel! I feel like I have no energy, sore throat and blocked nose. I’d like to Say Happy Birthday to Nicola (Lee Westwoods better half ) I will not put your age on here like I said, but hope everyone enjoys your birthday cake, and you have a great day So yesterday at work, Panda (His new nickname cos he’s hairy, big-boned and sits around eating all-day) was being his usual miserable self. For some reason I found myself sneezing all bloody day which was a bit of a ball-ache. And then when I got home to watch Prison Break, I found ymself feeling really run down and tired. Think thats partyl down to going to the gym, but not eating properly! I dont do breakfast, and sometimes miss dinner too, but have a few snacks through out the day from the vending machine, then get home, and if its a late session at the gym, I’ll have some toast or something, so i’m not sick when doing the stomach exercises. If it’s a straight from work session,

Joke time…
2007-10-09 03:11:36
I apologise to Fee for the lack of originality in this blog post below, as it is a joke sent by Lee… A husband and wife were having dinner at a very fine restaurant when this beautiful young woman comes over to their table, gives the husband a kiss, then says she’ll see him later and walks away. The wife glares at her husband and says, “Who was that?” “Oh,”replies the husband, “to be truthful, she’s my mistress.”"Well, that’s the last straw,” says the wife. “I’ve had enough, I want a divorce!”"I can understand that,” replies her husband, “but remember, if we get a divorce, it will mean no more shopping trips to Paris, no more wintering in Barbados, no more summers in Tuscany, no more Jaguar in the garage and no more yacht club. But the decision is yours .” Just then, a mutual friend enters the restaurant with another gorgeous woman on his arm. “Who’s that woman with C

Well I was being nosey last night on facebook, and knew my brothers ex was on there, and wondered if there were any photos of our Owen in her gallery… Not too fussed bout photos of Owen and Abbie, mainly my nephew, and I managed to find 3 quite good ones. This last one for some reason really does remind me of our Lewi when he was younger Might have to dig an old photo out next time i’m at my mums ha ha! Specially as everyone seems to be posting old school photos from Jo Whit and Lake View on facebook! ha ha! And yeah Owen really is as cheeky as he looks. Yesterday at work was not too bad! The steady flow of work seems to keep coming, even tho we’re out of season now. Mark has given me 3 weeks to go through this system that Robert used to use, and try and sort things out for Geoffrey whilst Mark and Craig are at “Camp Ninja” otherwise known to normal people as China As you can see by the last blog, Maddsy is getting a little excited to say the lea

Maddsy flies out to China on Sunday morning or something, and Crewy decided in his own warped way, that Maddsy was going to Ninja Camp (Dont ask how he thought that) Anyway.. Now Maddsy thinks he’s gonna come back a fully fledged Ninja He’s the last person I cold possibly imagine as a ninja! Even Crewy would be better ROFL.  And given the fact i’ve seen him shooting guns, i think the last thing anyone should do is give him a bloody sword Well that got me thinking about a film I remember seeing once called Beverly Hills Ninja You dont see many “Big-Boned” Ninjas flying about i suppose HAHAHA! It’s a case of that or something else I think would suit the poor mis-guided fool….

First of all… Happy Birthday Stevie. Hope you have a nice day and things. Friday at work wasn’t too bad. Quite a bit of work came in, so seemed to be constantly busy which is how i prefer it tbh. Maddsy and Geoffrey left early, so me and crit decided to leave about 5ish. Was due to go and see my mate emzi friday night in Newark, but Phil ended up twisting my arm to go play 5-a-side, and then go the pub afterwards. Football wasn’t too bad, altho it took me a while to get into it, due to aching like hell from my first full week back at the gym I even went in net for a bit and performed admirably ha ha. Nipped home after football with phil in the car, we got changed and then went over to the pub to meet Fee, Helen and Ollie. Few more people came later in the night like Troy and Stacey, Vicky and Bruton, Kate and a rather drunk Tibbzy. Nipped out down the Rainworth by-pass with troy, and think he has been bitten by the Jap bug Altho Stacey didnt seem too kee

2007-10-05 02:41:19
So yesterday at work was a little hectic, trying to get all this mailer ready to send, even tho there is now a postal strike for the next week of so *rollseyes*  Suppose they’re striking for better pay and things, even if it means I dont get any bills through the post for a week Altho they can’t be happy that one man has decided against strike action…! For some reason Maddsy seemed to have mardy on, , but as usual threatened to “End me” and “Batter me” So he cant have been in that bad a mood ha ha! Like he could possibly do that anyway pfft. Earlier in the day i’d text John to see what time he wanted to go to the gym, and his reply was not sure bout 6.15.  So i gets to the Fez hall, txt him to see if he;s ok for a lift….  and he said he was at his dads garage, and was gonna go at 8! So apologised, and I made my way to my mums for some food!  Its almost compulsory to visit my mum, and raid the fridge! Altho saying that I f

What do you expect from such simple creatures? Your last name stays put. The garage is all yours. Wedding plans take care of themselves. Chocolate is just another snack. You can be Prime Minister. You can never be pregnant. You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park. You can wear NO shirt to a water park. Car mechanics tell you the truth. The world is your urinal. You never have to drive to another filling station restroom because this one is just too icky. You don’t have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt. Same work, more pay. Wrinkles add character. Graying hair adds attraction. Wedding dress~£3000. Morning suit rental~£50. People never stare at your chest when you’re talking to them. The occasional well-rendered belch is practically expected. New shoes don’t cut, blister, or mangle your feet. One mood all the time. Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat. You know stuff about tanks. A five-day vacation requires only one suitca

And aching Not much to report today, as I kinda went a little mad with the blog yesterday There are still one or two bits left out on purpose, cos stuff like that shouldnt be put on the internet ROFL. Work was OK, may have moaned at being left 2 days work, but it kept me busy, altho being busy meant no time for the blog! Hmmm which is more important Geoffrey has discovered that the Snap Cabin near us, has suddenly started serving hot beef cobs! So you can imagine the delight, when he strolled in after his walk at dinner, with one each for me and Maddsy Woohoo! Maannn I love Beef! (and chicken too dont worry Fee ) Last night dropped Fee’s corsa off, and John came over to drive mine upto Fee’s so I could get back, then we went over to the gym. But not before I was gutted to find Tesco had sold out of all their Super Unleaded! So chucked a few $$$’s of the 95 stuff in till tonight. Then went to pick John and Caz up, cos John seems to have as much bad luck wi

Package had been delivered
2007-11-01 03:45:24
Not a great deal to tell tbh! Shoulder is still hurting, but no-where near as much as it was tuesday morning, which is good! Work is still steady, and Zoe seems to be working her way through a list of designs I’ve given her, rather than boring her and having her sat next to me watching everything, pretty much how I started, I decided that I’ll talk her through how to do it, so she can make notes, and then try it for herself. As the wise old fool in the corner of the room once said… “You learn more when trying to do something, rather than watching it being done” or sommat like that) Nipped over to Asda at dinner, and also had a parcel to pick up. On the delivery card, it had Clipstone Road EAST. With the EAST underlined. So I had sat nav on to tell me the street names, as I was sure the Post Office I thought it was was on Clipstone Road WEST, and I was right. It turned out to be no bigger than a house, and was hidden away near the roundabout for Garibaldi S

Bloody Stupid Shoulder..

So Monday morning came, and Zoe turned up just before 9. For some reason Geoffrey thought he was in charge, and said as soon as she got upstairs, he wanted to have a few minutes with her to “tell her how we do things” (more like how he WANTS things done *rollseyes*) Anyway Dee showed Zoe round again, and made her feel welcome, and then Dee and Carol came up with the idea that Zoe spend a morning down in the factory and cutting out room, to see how the marquees are made up, cos whats the point of quoting something that you know nothing about This seemed to get on Geoffreys goat, and by 10am he was literally climbing up the wall, wanting to know what the hell Dee was doing with Zoe, as he was expecting her upstairs no latter than 10 past 9 By 11 he seemed very frustrated, and started telling me that Craig had given me a plan of action, bla bla bla, Craig wanted it all going through first thing etc etc. Little did he know that about 9:15 I’d rung Maddsy, to men

At home with the Mancs..
2007-10-29 06:20:40
Work was dead Friday. Karl had some bad news, so went home (not looking himself at all) and by 3 o’clock there were very few of us left in the building at all! By 5 me and Crit had had enough, and decided to bugger off home, as there was no point sitting around doing nothing for another half an hour. So on the way home I bought myself a good few bottles of beer, and decided to make a night of it in front of the telly, waiting for the highlight of the nights telly…. REBUS! I love programs like this and Taggart Was left signed into MSN throughout the night, and whilst sat on the settee, noticed a someone trying to talk to me. Turned out to be Nemma, so had a chat with her, and we seemed to have the same idea! We were just waiting for Rebus to start. Only problem being I was that knackered that I found myself thinking about watching it in bed… Bad idea! I watched the first half hour, then turned it off! So Nemma… What happened in the end? ha ha Found myself

What an amazing weekend…
2007-11-05 07:01:44
Well I suppose it all started on Friday afternoon. Having sent Lee Kirk a message, telling him we’re still trying to get it sorted, and having a reply, I went to tell Maddsy, who then came upstairs, and decided to ring the goon! Was nice to have a random chat with him (Yeah the hormone replacement is working). Geoffrey left early, so after savagely going through Zoe’s work this week, we sort of went through one or two things, and then chilled for the last hour. Went straight from work to the hairdressers, to be met by a scowling Claire, who was upset that I’d forgotten about her. How could I ever forget about Claire! It was my hair appointment I’d forgotten about Eventually she seemed to have forgiven me, and I started making her laugh which is always a good thing, rather than having her give me the daggers. After claire was done with my hair, I made my way home, to quickly change, and have a little bite to eat (A very nice Lamb Hotpot Pot Noodle) and then ma
