TT - Wondering about weather
2007-10-22 04:38:00
How is the weather today? Today it was hot! It was around 28-30 degrees Celsius. What has the weather been like this past week? It’s been raining, it’s been stinking hot, it’s been blowing a gale! Crazy weather! Did it get in the way/or did you take advantage to do something? As soon as it starts warming up, the babes want to go to the beach or to the pool after school every afternoon. Thanks to Tina for hosting Tina’s Tuesdays

Little rev-heads!
2007-10-22 02:28:33
Yesterday we went to our friends’ house to check out their new motorbikes. They have just bought a dirt bike and little motorbike (not sure if these are what you call pocket rockets (?) DD7 has been nagging me to go over there because she wanted to have a go on the small bike. Before we left our friends’ house, the baby had a go sitting on the bike! So we went down to the paddock and when it was time for DD7 to have a go, she freaked out. She was quite happy to sit on the bikewith DH  when it was standing still but was not to keen on riding it….maybe when she gets a bit older, she’ll have a go DS15 had a go too but I was too concerned he was going to come off and I forgot to take some pictures of him! He went over a little hill and got a little air….when he got back to where we were standing, he got a good talking to from me. I was NOT in the mood to spend hours up at the hospital’s casualty because he wanted to be a revhead! Our friends asked

Why are we here?
2007-10-21 18:59:28
Although I was baptised Catholic as a child, as an adult I’m not a practising Catholic. My DH isn’t of any faith and religion seems to be a taboo subject in our household. DH believes that we were put on earth by aliens as an experiment. I believe that there is a “higher being”.  I don’t know if I believe in aliens although it is hard to believe that we are the only human race in the entire universe. Yesterday afternoon, DH and DS15 were “stumbling” and came across a heap of you-tube videos about UFO sightings. I think they were on a mission to prove to me that aliens are real because while I was running around the house cleaning up, all I kept hearing was “Look at this one! How do you explain that?!” and “Mum, there’s no way that’s fake!” Where do you stand? Do you believe in aliens?

Where I see my blog one year from today
2007-10-19 05:19:13
I started blogging on The Original Mx5 in April 2007 and I created this blog in September 2007. When I started blogging, I utilised my blog as a creative outlet, for me to express myself and to keep myself accountable on my weightloss journey. Over the last couple of months, my blogs have taken a different turn and while still being my creative outlet, they have also enabled me to do what I love, which is be a stay at home mum By doing some paid blogging, I can stay at home for my children and still be able to contribute to our household income. So why am I telling you this? Rishiraj from Rishiraj.info just celebrated his one year blogoversary. He has asked the question "Where do you think your blog will be in one year’s time?" and to celebrate his blogoversary, he is holding a contest and is giving away $111 as first prize as well as lots more for runners up! All you need to do is write a post on your blog about "Where you see your blog one year from today"

Baby talk
2007-10-17 16:06:57
The baby has decided that as soon as it starts getting light, that is her cue to let me know she’s awake. If she could talk, her babbling and cries would probably translate into - (quietly babbling to herself) "OK, it’s light. I’m awake but I’m happy lying here looking at my butterfly mobile - for now" (babbling to herself with a few happy squeals) "Mum, just letting you know that I’m awake. I can see you but you’re still sleeping. OK, I’ll be nice and let you sleep for a LITTLE while longer" (starts to add a little whine) "OK, I’m bored now and I want a nappy change and my bottle. Mum, it’s time to wake up!" (loudly squeals so she can wake up the whole neighbourhood!) "MUM, GET YOUR BUTT OUT OF BED AND GET ME OUT OF HERE!" Powered by Qumana

John Cena (action figure) found hung………..
2007-10-26 04:04:43
I’m not a wrestling fan but I don’t mind watching it for a little eye candy. I own a John Cena figure .htm">action figure and it’s no secret in this house that I have a “thing” for him…LOL MY John lives on my bookshelf in the living room and occasionally I find him missing or something done to him. Two days ago I found one of my hair clips over his head like a clamp. When I asked who was responsible, all I got was little smirks and “I dunno”. So this morning when I came into the living room, I found my beloved John Cena hanging from a cord! Of course, again, when I questioned if there were any witnesses who saw this attack happen, no-one wanted to get involved. Just between you and me, I think DH and the babes are all in on this together….. I plan to find the culprit red-handed and the culprit will be dealt with accordingly…..LOL Stay tuned to find out who has got it in for John Cena………… Share This

Dear family,
2007-10-25 02:59:35
It REALLY isn’t that hard to change the toilet roll when it’s finished. Step 1: Take the empty cardboard roll off the holder and put it in the bin behind the toilet. Step 2: Take a new roll of toilet paper from beside the toilet  and put it on the holder. Step 3: Give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done! Love Mum xxx Share This

I have to have one of these!
2007-10-24 05:44:48
You know how many times I have been in the shower and I have a brilliant idea but then by the time I get out, get dressed, deal with the babes outside the bathroom door, the brilliant idea is just a vague memory. Waterproofmemoboards.com provide the perfect solution for me! I can’t believe that I haven’t come across a waterproof memo board before…why hasn’t anyone pointed me in that direction? I have a few memo boards around the house - the most important one being the memo board in the hallway which is like a command centre. But I don’t have one in the bathroom…YET! This is definitely going on my wish list So now, every time I get that brilliant idea for my next blog post in the shower, I will be able to jot it down quickly while trying to keep the shampoo suds out of my eyes! Multi-tasking, that’s what I’m talking about!! Share This

Permanent makeup
2007-10-23 18:11:43
I got stuck looking at plastic surgery sites. Some of the before and after photos are amazing! I was looking at a Naples plastic surgery site and found that they offer permanent make-up….. you can get your eyebrows, eyelids and lips coloured permanently. Now that sounds interesting! While I don’t usually wear a lot of make-up, when I do decide to “put my face on”, it does take up time in the morning and I have to do it quickly because some catastrophe always happens when I’m in the bathroom *rolling eyes* Imagine not having to worry about your make-up melting on hot days. Imagine still looking glamorous while you’re sweating it out at the gym - you won’t end up looking like a panda bear…LOL Do you think the procedure would be like tattooing? I guess they’d have to  do a similar sort of procedure to keep the colour in your skin. I wonder how permanent it is. Would you consider getting this done? Share This

Nosey issue
2007-10-23 17:58:08
I don’t know anything about rhinoplasty so I knew that fitting the the words rhinoplasty in Beverly Hills, California in one of my posts was going to be a challenge. So I did a bit of research and it amazes me how many people actually have the procedure done! I can understand why you would want to have your nose fixed if it has been damaged in an accident or in previous surgery, but why would you put yourself through it just for vanity’s sake?! It is a shame that the world puts so much focus on looks that people would spend ridiculous amounts of money on non-medical surgery. My nose is not perfect but it is MY nose. It’s the one that I was born with and I wouldn’t change it just because I don’t like it! Would you have a nose job just for cosmetic reasons? Share This

Dog with attitude
2007-10-23 17:40:59
My dog is obnoxious…seriously! Oscar was just 6 weeks old when he came to live with us. He was meant to be an inside dog. When he was a pup, I put a beanbag on the floor next to my side of the bed for him to sleep on. I sometimes put him next to me on the bed and when DH came to bed, he’d say “off!” and Oscar would bury his head under my pillow as if to say “you can’t kick me off if you can’t see me!” LOL Oscar grew a little bigger than what we originally thought. I was under the impression that he would be my “handbag dog” but now I get hassled by DH’s mates. They keep asking me how my “suitcase dog” is going! Since the baby was born, Oscar now lives outside with our other dog Snoopy. He is happy staying outside but I find that he doesn’t like cuddling with me anymore and won’t sit still on my lap like he used to. And when I call hi, he kinds turns around to look at me and then walks away! I WAS

Be good to your kids!
2007-10-23 16:18:09
There’s a saying that goes something like: Be good to your kids because they’re the ones who will choose your nursing home! I haven’t really given much thought about what is going to happen when DH and I get old. I would hope that we would both be capable of being independent and not need to be put into a nursing home but you just don’t know what the future holds. I would like to think that if it was up to my kids to choose a nursing home for me, that they would do some research and be sure that the nursing home is reputable and offers exquisite care. would also hope that they would consider a nursing home not too far away so they would come and visit me regularly! I’d be worried if I saw brochures for Brooklyn nursing homes, seeing that we live in Australia! Share This

Is that a wrinkle….
2007-10-23 06:54:54
or are you just happy to see me? Do you ever look in the mirror and notice a new line that wasn’t there the night before? I think I need to get new lighting for the bathroom because seeing your reflection first thing in the morning is not too encouraging when your light source is coming from a bare light globe! I’m sure I can see some new wrinkles laugh lines. Must be from all the stress that I’ve been under lately. I have never considered any type of cosmetic surgery and I don’t think I ever would but I can understand why other people do want to get it done. To some, looking the very best is very important to them and maybe taking time off and going for some Santa Barbara cosmetic surgery is the perfect vacation! But for me, my laugh lines are part of happy memories and I don’t want to erase them. Would you consider any cosmetic surgery? Powered by Qumana Share This

Bald by choice
2007-10-31 04:29:35
My darling husband is bald and has been for about 3 years now. When he noticed he was thinning on top, he decided that he didn’t want to end up with half a head of hair and sick of the “fryer tuck” jokes from his mates so he chose to shave all his hair off and has been shaving his head since. Personally I think he is much more handsome with a bald head! There are many people who would basically do anything to prevent hair loss and because of this, there are many products on the market that promise results but don’t do anything, leaving many people disappointed and out of pocket. Instead of purchasing the first product that promises miracles, a bit of research should be done to find out which products actually work. Trustsource.org lists hair loss treatments that have been ranked and reviewed by people who have actually used the products. The highest ranked product is provillus, healthy hair support for men and women providing essential nutrients to encourage hai

Bad credit rating?
2007-10-30 18:51:01
We don’t use credit cards. We never have. The only loan we have is our car loan and we generally like to stay out of debt and try to live within our means. But there are people we know who have gotten themselves into major debt and in the process, giving themselves a bad credit rating. When this happens, it is usually difficult to obtain any credit but there is help. There’s a site called Bad Credit Offers who list reputable institutions who will offer financial counceling and will help you with credit repair. Sometimes it is a good idea to obtain bad credit loans because by keeping up with your payments and paying on time, this can help you repair your credit rating. TT - Halloween Fun
2007-10-29 23:44:32
What is your favourite thing about Halloween ? The fact that here in Australia don’t egg your house if you don’t have treats for them! Do you decorate your house (inside or out) for Halloween? I sometimes put some fake spider web and spiders on the front door…nothing too over the top because we don’t really celebrate Halloween in Oz. Do you hand out candy and chocolate to neighbourhood children? I usually buy a whole heap of lollipops from the lolly factory to hand out to the kids. bon jour!
2007-11-04 21:46:50
I was watching a tv show today about an English couple who had bought a B & B in Southern France and it got me thinking that if I ever have the chance, I would love to spend time there. I would love to stay in one of the beautiful hotels in France and visit museums, art galleries and of course wine and dine in the best cafes and restaurants. Ooooh I can see it now! We could book our stay in one of the hotels in Paris and spend a couple of weeks sight-seeing, take a day trip to The Lourve Museum, relax at an outdoor cafe, sipping lattes and people watch. Then travel some more and stay at one of the beautiful Nice hotels and experience the Nice way of life, strolling through the markets, enjoying the local cuisine, relaxing at the beach…… Of course, my main aim of my French holiday would be to visit the secluded B&B’s in Southern France but you can’t go to France and not do the tourist thing first! 30 Day Organizational Challenge (update #1)
2007-11-04 15:28:17
OK, so I finally took some photos for my “before” and I am so embarassed! But I guess posting them on my blog will hopefully keep me accountable. So here we go….. This is the top half of my hall cupboard. It’s currently being used as a hold-all for basically everything! This is the bottom half of my hall cupboard….yep, more mess! Above the hall cupboard is another 2 door cupboard which I use as my Christmas cupboard. This REALLY needs organizing! OK, so I’ve totally embarassed myself now so I guess it’s time to get my butt moving and do something about it!
