An angel 2007-10-26 13:37:10
I do not remember where I stumbled upon this image - but it became a favorite of mine. There is something special about it - the boy seems to be with an angel
ic and devilish spirit at the same time ( devilish because of the fire surrounding him).
May be that is the idea behind the photograph to show how the evil surrounding the innocence of youth . Look at his expression - it is calm like he is thinking of something - may be trying to find an answer for himself on which side he can stand.
Anyway I couldn`t resist in sharing this picture with you - if you know the source by any chance please let me know.
Make free phone calls 2007-10-26 13:21:56 There are various VOIP solutions out there - and until now I have been using JustVoip . For 10 euro each month I get 300 minutes per week in free calls
to fixed phone
s across Europe and mobile phones in US. The sound quality is decent and I do not have a single complain . But I found a better solution - the website of Nonoh - it has the same functionality - but you do not have even to register and still can call for free. They offer a simple Phone to Phone service unlike other PC to Phone service. All you have to do is to input your fixed number and the number of the person you want to call - then your phone will ring and the central based in Germany would connect you and your friends or family.
For now the free minutes are available in these destinations:
Argentina (Landline), Australia (Landline) , Austria (Landline),Belgium (Landline), Bolivia (Landline), Brazil (Landline), Bulgaria (Landline), Canada (Landline & Mobile), China (Landline & Mobile), Croatia (Landline),Czech R
Declan Galbraith - “You and Me” 2007-10-25 06:51:05
The newest rumors are that Declan Galbraith is preparing a third album -”You and Me” which is to be released on 23 of November. I have tried to review his second album ” Thank You” and am looking forward to hear his new songs . His voice has changed since he is a bit older now - but this does not mean that the album would be inferior to the pririor two. A new video is available on youtube :
I like the video and his voice is perfectly fine, the music has the melody typical for his songs - just he seems to shift his image from pop to soft rock performer ( same thing we saw with Hanson before), sadly this takes a way a bit of the uniqueness of Declan - as there are too many performers in this genre. Not that this matters so much as his music still has that incredible effect on me - that`s just Declan- DeclanGalbraith.
What about you ? Do you like the new song of Declan ? What do you think about his new image ?
The announcement of the album was made in a press conferenc Read more:ldquo

Private Lessons 2007-10-19 18:23:23 Private lessons is a nice and funny film which would be enjoyed by anyone who remembers his first crushes and emotions. Almost too provocative - for an American comedy that is - it seems to be an early version of the American Pie series , but with a special twist. ( a reverse version of Lolita may be).
The plot is fairly simple - the fifteen years old Philly is a spoiled and horny rich kid who gets seduced by the housekeeper- a women in her thirties . There is a blackmail situation , although it does look a bit out of place. The soundtrack was really nice and I think that the acting was good. Especially of the young Philly as his nervous smile is what stuck to my mind after seeing the movie.
It sure brought some memories to me - I must have had the same smile Philly had in the movie , or being equally nervous when one of my ex-girlfriends ( not that they are too many) once asked me ” Are you sure - this is the first time you are French-kissing with a girl ? ” or a bit latte Read more:Private

Learning and Teaching 2007-10-07 15:23:06 Today I attended my first German lesson. This is a new language to me - but I want to learn it because just English is simply not enough. Then also I would like to learn Spanish and Russian - that would be easier since I already have some knowledge on these. Anyway there are four more students in the German course - the youngest one - Toma is just eleven , the rest are girls aged 16 to 20. We are all beginners and started with the alphabet and the first lesson of the textbook….so far so good.
These days a friend of me offered me a nice position - teaching computer skills at several schools around town. Well - this does not mean that I will become a teacher or something - because those will be courses , but still it would be new and exciting thing to do - if I accept that is. The thing is that the pay rate is a bit too low - then on the other hand I will be doing something- that I love - dealing with computers and software and it is also quite possible that I will lea Read more:Learning
Universal Share Downloader 2007-10-06 02:38:27 I like the services that Rapid Share
offers - the site is popular , many people use it and you can easily find an abundance of files there. What I do no like about Rapid share is that their limits for free users are too high. Let face it -having to wait an hour or two just to get the next file you want to download- that really insane. I know what would you say - get a premium account. Well I would but the prices of Rapid Share are too high -. The other option they offer for earning premium account is sharing files and getting 10 000 points - right now it seems that I will need another year or so to be able to do just that.Internet is full of articles about ways to avoid some of the limits - most are either with java or the use proxy servers. I have tried a lot of thing - and nothing seemed to work. Until recently - I discovered Universal
Share Dowloader.
When you use the program you will be able to load several rapid share links and download them one after another witho
Jet Boy 2007-10-03 06:24:13 Independent and rare Canadian movie - Jet Boy is not easy to find. It is a well made drama that deals with serious subjects. The main character is Nathan - a 14 years old boy who is also a hustler. His role is played by Brandon Nadon - who makes a remarkable debut with this movie. The movie is grim and sad at times - I felt really sorry for Nathan and for all others kids out there hustling on the streets because of the way they are raised . Soon after the viewer discovers that his mother is drug addicted and did not really care about him , his dad is unknown.
Nathan just wants to be loved and to have someone to care for him. In one of the scenes he says : ” “I just want to be a good kid” and that shows that if he had different childhood he would be just as your next door kid. But instead he has to bring drugs to his mother and do things - which no child should do .When his mother dies from overdoes he runs away from the social workers and meet Broom who seem to be
Finding Neverland 2007-10-02 20:17:04 Before even starting my review I think that it would be fair to let you know that I not only a fan of the movie and book about Peter Pan , but believe to have what it is called Peter Pan Syndrome myself. Now when that is settled I can say that I enjoyed Finding Neverland
a lot. For those of you who haven’t heart of the movie it tells the story of the writer of the play Peter Pan J.M.Barrie and the family which inspired him to create his masterpiece . The actors did really god job in recreating this story which is inspired by real events. And then again no wonder - since in the role of J.M Barry is Johnny Depp and Peter is played by the remarkable young actor Freddie Highmore.
It was a pleasure to watch how the writer of Peter Pan spends his time playing with the boys who inspired him to write the play.He has to deal with the disapproval of the society - including the one of his life and the boy`s grand mother played by Radha Mitchell. It amazes me how stereotypes continue to li
Wild Tigers I Have Known 2007-09-30 15:08:17 Talking about weird movie - you would hardly be able to find one weirdest then Wild Tigers
I have Known. I just finish watching it and honestly can say that I had a bit of trouble understanding it - and yet at the same time I feel a bit down because of it. At the same time I tried to watch it several times - but something always happened - lost of interest or something else . This does not means that the movie is bad - its just a bit freak. May be it was the plot - may be it was the soundtrack…
In one of the scenes an Afro- Amrican woman sings a really calm song while Logan ( the main character) is relaxing in his bed - the song was so calm and at place that I almost fell to sleep myself. The whole soundtrack as the movie itself is kind of strange.
Logan is an thirteen years old boy who attends a Junior High School - he is lonely and feels different. He is by himself a lot and dreams … day dreams so much that in one of the scenes his mother accused him for being consta
Mickybo and Me 2007-09-30 06:56:50 Brilliant - that word can easily describe the movie Mickybo and Me. I have not noticed a single flaw - the acting was outstanding , the music suitable , the story intriguing…
The movie follows the life and the adventures of Micky Boyle and Johnjo - two boys who both live in Belfast but different neighborhoods separated by a bridge and the religion divide between catholics and protestants. And yet despite being on the opposite side of the divide they become friends . They sneak into the local cine to see the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid which lives a long lasting impression in them. After seeing the movie Mickybo and Jognjo swear an oath to be blood brothers for life and they embark on a journey following the steps of their movie heroes.
Since the Mickybo and Me is an Irish movie - it is no wonder that the actors were speaking with an accent - but after 5 to 10 minutes of watching I used to to it. Mickybo and Me reminded me of two of my favorite movies Dear F
What happened to Demonoid ? 2007-09-26 19:08:49 Three days have passed since my favorite torrent tracker Demonoid went off-line. It has happened before - and the cause was some anti piracy group forcing the site to move its server to Canada . But it is unclear what is the cause for the downtime now. I am following the new updates at Zero Paid but so far nothing is clear …
I have been using Demonoid for a long time , have a good ratio there and am very satisfied with the content I found on its pages. My only concern is that its admission is a bit too liberal - semi-private tracker is not always the best solution. May be when the site comes back it would become completely private - which I think is the way to go.
Update : According to the Slashdot and Teach Talk - the site has been shut down by the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) - Torrent Freak supports this version . At the same time the net and the blog sphere become flooded with versions of what happened . On Demonoid’s irc channel, the only news
Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2007 2007-09-23 20:42:29 It was not that long ago since I last mentioned the contest in my blog. During my search for more information about the contest this year I stumbled upon a great resource which covers almost all aspects o f JuniorEurovision
( link). This year I am going to vote and so far my favorite candidates are Alexey Zhigalkovich and 4KIDS they are representatives for Belarus and Romania. This preference of mine may change with time as I still have to see who will win the national contests at the remaining countries. ( Belgium for example seem to have many talented performers).

ACLA’S DECENT INTO FLORISTELLA 2007-09-21 08:13:24 I have heard a lot about this movie - some people said that is was too harsh, others said it was controversial and then there were even some people who said that because of the descriptions available online they wonder if the movie is worth watching at all. Having seen it now - I can say that I found the movie was fine - but not that well acted or controversial as I through it would be.
Acla is coming of age movie about a boy who is sold as a mine worker by his parents. At the tender age of twelve his place is not there - but I know - and so do you that during the industrial revolution children from all over the world were forced to work in unbearable conditions. Acla`s decent into floristella is inspired by true events as the movie succeeds in the attempt to portrait the social climate of south Italy in 1930. In a small Italian village men have no choice - but to spent 5 days a week away from home working and living in the mines to make a living. Acla is to be treated as a

La Revolte des enfants 2007-09-15 17:27:49 Every person has right to be treated as human being - no matter how old or young he is.
La Revolte des enfants is movie about the despair attempt of a group of French boys in a reformatory institution to earn their right of human dignity. One could only guess how horrible were these boys treated - not because the movie succeeds to convey this message - but rather because there are movies with similar themes such as Song for a Ragggy Boy.
2 hours and 7 minutes are a bit too much for the story and I personally did not like the acting a lot. There were some good scenes ( few at the begging and one or two at the end) - but in general the director did a poor job in this movie. The soundtrack of the movie ( piano music ) was a bit annoying at times too.
La Revolte des enfants is watchable movie and will keep you in front of your monitor/screen for a while - and still there are far better movies out there with similar storyline.

Mirage 2007-09-12 18:18:24 “Hope is the worst of evils, for it prolongs the torment of man.”
This is the first and only movie made in the Republic of Macedonia that I have seen. I am still under its influence when I am writing this review and I can assure you that once when you have seen this movie it would leave a lasting impression in you. Shown first at the Tokyo International Film Festival festival in Tokyo ,Mirage is a prime example of quality European cinema.
When the movie started I paid attention mostly to the surroundings as for me the director wanted to show the atmosphere in which Marco lives. But who is Marco ? 12 year old Macedonian boy -full of emotions, talent for writing and dreams for a better life . The first few scenes review little of his personality as the directors shows various scenes of the turbulent live in Macedonia. Those scenes seem to prepare the viewer for what he is about to see, explain the mentality of the characters and set the overall tone of the movie. Even through
200 things 2007-09-08 17:20:58 I saw a very interest test in one of the blogs that I follow . Basically there is a list of 200 things
which everyone should have done in their lives. Out of 200 things - I have done 86 - while the average on the site is 62 . As far as points go :
Romance : 7.0 Crazy : 6.5 Forbidden things :6.0 Sex : 5.5 Social : 5.1…etc
The original test is in German and can be taken here ( EN)
I am curious to know how many things you have done out of the 200 listed. When you know the answer - please leave me a comment to tell me.
Cool web sites (1) 2007-09-08 12:47:45 I am starting new series of posts with some of my favorite web sites. The ones that will appear here are tested by me - otherwise you can always keep up with my recent discoveries on Del.Icio.Us and Stumble Upon.
The Cloak - probably the best site out there for anonymous surfing. It support encryption which means that even your ISP won`t be able to trace which sites are you visiting. There is a bandwidth limit for free surfing but it becomes problem only when the traffic generated by you can be classified as an adult traffic. Staying away from such sites will allow you to surf much longer.
Web photo resizer - new and innovative service which you can use to make your site and blogs load much faster. There is a size limit of 5 MB per file , but I think that this will be sufficient for almost all your needs.I managed to decrease the size of my avatar with 69 % without noticeable loss of the quality of the image.

I feel lonely 2007-09-07 09:32:09 Well I came back from the sea shore - and guess what I feel awfully lonely at the moment. When I was camping I had so many friends - from all over the world - now the only thing I have is a bunch of e-mail addresses. Next week I am going to choose some destination and go there - no matter where - the mountains , some tourist landmark- anywhere. At least I will be meeting some people , making friends - remote again as it seems - but I hardly knew anyone locally.
The evening is coming and many people would come online - only I now know that those virtual worlds can never substitute the real thing.

Temporada de patos /Duck Season 2007-09-07 05:27:40 I saw this movie last night. It was one of the weirdest movies I have ever seen - weird in a good way. The story line is simple - two 14 years Flama and Moko are preparing to spend typical Sunday afternoon in an apartment somewhere in Mexico. They are typical teens and as soon as are left alone start playing video games. Those scenes - the scenes on which they play are really fun - I almost wanted to jump and turn my Sony on just because of the way both boys were getting into it. Then as they play the doorbell rings - and it turns out to be their neighbor next door - good looking girl who wants to use their oven. At first the boys are way too busy with their game to pay any attention to the girl.
Naturally they get hungry and order a pizza. The delivery man is quite a character you would see - riding his motorcycle as crazy in the city to get the order in time. But he was late - or may be he was`t but that is what the Flama said in order to avoid paying for the Pizza. What Read more:Season
The last legion 2007-09-04 19:03:09 Rome - there is something about it . I enjoy reading books ( such as I, Claudius ) or watching movies( such as the TV series Rome ) about the life of the ancient romans . I took Latin classes while I was attending high school in the US and my teacher`s only fueled my interest towards the Roman epoch. This probably is enough to explain my excitement when I found out about a new movie out there called The last legion.
The Last Legion’ is an epic adventure following the events surrounding the capture of Rome’s last emperor, 12 year old Romulus Augustus, and his imprisonment on the island of Capri.
I just saw it. Thomas Sangster plays the leading role of the last emperor of Rome - Romulus Augustus. His acting in the Last Legion is truly remarkable . (and is probably the best asset of this movie ) The storyline could have been better as at times the action was a bit predictable at times. The movies is full of references of other tales - Roman , British …etc - but som
Check out the kid`s departament 2007-09-04 16:13:59 I went to the local public library today . During my vacation I started reading Digital Fortress by Dan Braun but did not have time to finish it . Also I finished reading the first two books of the series ” Sons of the great bear” ( I really like stories about native Americans - especially such in which they are the positive characters ). Last but not least I wanted to take a copy of the first Harry Poter book. I did not have a card - so the library woman made one for me and then she said “I can recommend you some nice thrillers “. I thanked her and said that I already have something in mind - and then when I told her the titles - she said ” Oh but these are in the Kid`s department ” .
Few minutes after this conversation I was entering the department determined to get the books I wanted - the woman there was polite - but reacted very weird when I told her that those books were for me - not for some little dude . I can`t understand why books Read more:Check

Since this is my personal place on the web - I prefer to keep the comments moderated so I can maintain the content of this site in a way so that everyonewould be able to access it without feeling any concerns about what he/ she is going to read. With that said - I need to hurry now - the sun is shining and the wather in the see is just great today…

Listal - list the staff you love 2007-07-06 11:09:44
I discovered listed a long time ago - but back then it was not as developed as it is now and did not have many user. Nowadays I rediscovered the site again and am astonished by its interactivity and functionality. You can list your favorite movies, music , games ,books , actors …etc - you can also rate and discuss them with the other users of Listal. I truly enjoyed the possibility to list and tag my movies - and to discover new ones by clicking on the directors or the actors I like .
Listal is really abundant with features and you can read reviews and get recommendations on almost every item listed on the site. Not only that but you can discover people with similar interests and become friends. If something you like is not listed you can add it yourself - I myself added one of my favorite singers Antonio Jose. You can also add clips from the movies you like or video clips of your favorite performers either from your computer or from some of the video sharing websites
Meme: Coming of Age movies 2007-07-04 19:12:01 I decided to join a group of bloggers and participate in the coming of age meme . The bloggers include Andy Horbal, Matt Riviera , Tram Ngo and Teresa .The whole idea started from the open thread - Best coming of age movies
at the Zoom in Online blog. I saw that the Coming of age movie list at Wikipedia is already posted - but I would like to contribute with my own Ultimate coming of age movie list.
I am a huge fan of the genre and most of the movie review you are going to see on this blog are more or less of movies who can be tagged with a coming of age tag. With that being said - let`s proceed with the meme :
1. What are 3 movies that exemplify the Coming of Age movie genre?
Hearts of Atlantis directed by Scott Hicks is a fine example of a coming of age movie . The main character there - the 11 years old Bobby Garfield learns a lot and the friendship with Ted Brautigan shapes his life in an unique way.(more)
Billy Elliot directed by Stephen Daldry shows
This blog is rated G 2007-06-29 14:39:24
Just tried an online service to see what`s the rating of my blog - as I expected the rating was G - so now you can all calm down - no matter if you are 12 or 72 - all ages are admitted ( they have always been )
Machuca 2007-06-29 12:06:16 I watched Machuca yesterday - the plot is quite interesting- and a bit controversial . I am not familiar with Chilie were the actions takes place - but regardless I truly enjoyed my first Chilean movie. The main character is the young Gonzalo Infante - I even thought that he is the one who is called Machuca .
It turned out that Machuca is a name of another boy who befriends Gonzalo at school. In a way the two boys reminded me of the prince and the pauper - Gonzalo being from a rich family - a bit spoiled may be - and Machuca coming from the poorest neighborhoods - attending the school of Gonzalo only because the priests there tired to run some social program for integration or something like that.
The most antipathetic character for me in the movie was the cousin of Machuca - Silvana - who treated Gonzalo really badly calling his Snob and making fun of him every time she can. She teaches the boys how to kiss and hang out with them - but my overall impression of her is very bad. I am m
