Duma 2007-03-23 15:37:37
Duma reminded me of one of my favorite books “Rules of the Bone ‘. It is a movie about friendship between a boy living in South Africa and a cheetah named Duma. At first the story line may seem a bit simple, but then you will notice all the serous issues Duma deals with. The role of the young Xan is played by Alexander Michaeletos – he has really cute English accent which made me seek some more information about him. I found out that he is leaving in a farm in South Africa like the character he plays so well in the movie – real you can almost sense his feelings and fears. Duma is also a fine example of a coming out of age movie – I would like to quote some of the dialogue:
Change, yeah. That’s what happens. All the time.
The little boy that left home……is not the little boy that is with me now, eh?
See? Change.
Duma is a movie you would enjoy watching with your younger friends and relatives – they will like it and learn many things from i
Close to Leo (2003) 2007-03-22 04:32:09 This movie was for a while in my collection, but it wasn’t before a friend of mine reminded me about it – until I decided that I should watch it. I did not know much about Close
to Leo – just that it was supposed to be excellent coming of age movie and it deals with a very serious topic – Aids.
Although the person who has aids – is Leo – the scenario wraps around the way in which Marcel (the youngest brother of Leo) coupes with the sickness of his relative. At first everyone is trying to hide the truth from Marcel – he is believed to be too young to understand the sickness of his brother – the fact that Leo is also a homosexual contributes to the unwillingness of the parents to discus the matter with the young Marcel. I know from experience that on many occasions most older people do not want to accept the fact that sometimes even when someone is young this does not automatically means that he will not be able to accept the reality and act in more adequate manner then e
Anonymous Email 2007-03-18 17:26:40 Back to the privacy talk – sometimes you want to get in touch with someone via e-mail, but do now want anyone else to get an access to your e-mails – or track down the ip address from which the e-mail is sent. There are several options available on the net:
Use anonymous remailer
Sites such as the W3 anonymous remailer can be useful if you do not strive to achieve significant level of security. The information is not encrypted which still would expose you to some security risk – at the same times such sites are useful for quick e-mails to newsgroups…etc.
If you want to have higher security level you can use some software like PGP or Steganos to encrypt your messages, or you could use the functionality provided by StealthMessage.com – through it you can even make your messages self destructive after specifying some time interval .

Healthy life 2007-03-16 07:06:40 I am living very healthy these days – no wonder since I am going to the pool every night and walk to home after that. Also I rarely eat anything in the evenings – a salad may be , but nothing more ( as advised by some pals I met at the pool ) – the summer is getting closer – and so far my intentions are to spend every weekend camping on the seashore ( for which I shall be in a good shape ) – either alone or with someone – provided that I find someone as crazy as I am – to illustrate my meals :

End of the spear ( 2005) 2007-03-15 16:12:58 Chase Ellison(fan site) – just that name is enough for you to know that the movie you are going to watch will be a good one. And he is not the only star that shines amongst the actors in that production - Chad Allen who plays the role of a missioner (Chase plays as his son) acts amazingly and I truly enjoyed the father- son relationship they portrayed at the begging scenes. Here is a quote from the movie illustrating that relationship:
Nate Saint: Do you know how far away the sun is?
Young Steve Saint: 93 million miles.
Nate Saint: Do you know that that’s just a fraction of how much I love you?
The cinematography of the movie is really nice – there are many beautiful nature scenes most of which are very vivid. Most scenes have powerful messages hidden in them – m

A new pirate is born 2007-03-11 16:34:15 Just came back from the pool – it was an excellent evening.” Froggy “boy was there too – I am going to tell him that it is not necessary to swim so fast because if you do the right movements the speed is pretty good – he is just going to get tired sooner the way he swims – I know because I used to swim like him when I was his age. My friends at the pool are making fun of me because of a girl I told them about – but its fine I mean they do that in a friendly manner.
Oh since of tonight I can report that there will be one more “ pirate “on the net – in the dressing room there was boy with whom I talked earlier in the steam bath . He is about 11 years old and while I was getting dressed he noticed my mp3 player and asked how much memory it has. I told him that it only has 1 GB, but that’s fine with me for now (someday I will get an Ipod) – then he said that he has one with 512mb, but doesn’t know how to get songs fro it from the net – I asked him – so you don
Modern “hit “music - no thanks 2007-03-10 19:48:14
4.36 am – I was going to watch a movie – End of the Spear when a friend of mine gave me a call. “Hey whatcha doing? We are coming to the city “And I went out with him and some girls – first we went to that really famous club in here – it was my first time there, but I did not like it – more that that I felt totally out of place – modern “hit music “– come on give me a break – it seems that I am way too much intro treble music to enjoy Shakira or Morandy …instead I was having slip after slip of my bear and was replaying in my head scenes from the movie I started watching – great actors in it – so no wonder. After that we went to another club nearby which turn out to be rock, reggae kind of place – didn’t like it as well. Not that I do not like clubbing – but I prefer the music to be house or techno – so I can dance and dance for hours …
Yeaa going to start the movie again – it started very good so I guess you will see a post about it soon.

Every night at the pool ( : 2007-03-07 06:15:46 I had a great time at the pool yesterday – every night after my practice I hang out with the people I meet by the pool everyday. The girls are scare – but this doesn’t matter much – it is just cool to hang out and talk with friends moving from the sauna to the steam bath then to the pool again and so on.
Few words about the regular visitors – 3 guys – in their thirties – trough much older then myself talking with them is always fun. One dude who comes to the pool with his daughter – who is probably 5 or 6, but swims really well. Then my favorite “froggy “boy (a name I made up) who always swims so fast – his sister and the whole family – they have a family membership card I guess. A German lady with her boyfriend – these are the regulars, there are always other people – either guest of the I am swimming at, or new members – even some one timers .
Then I walk home – I can always get a taxi, but it is only 15 minutes walk and I get to listen to Libera and
Our Lady of the Assassins 2007-03-04 14:44:31
I have watched two movies today – both weren’t very good. Our Lady of the Assassins was one of them. Despite the fact that I did not like it much there was few scenes and dialogues which proved to be interesting. The main character is a middle aged writer who returns to the city he grew up to spend the rest of his time there – he meets Alexis a 16 years old gang member and they become friends and lovers. From that moment one – the viewer is exposed to the brutal reality of Medellin (the city in Columbia in which the action takes place) – I do not remember seeing another movie in which the killings happen so often and almost none cares of them. One of the scenes in which the main characters discover a dog with broken legs even makes you wonder if the human live is to be considered less important then the one of the animal.
The acting was not very good, which doesn’t like as a surprise – once when you know that most of the actors are not professional actors. At the same t
Hanson - The Walk 2007-03-02 09:34:26
The Walk is the name of the new album of Hanson
. It has only been released in Japan and UK (early release) so far and I am glad that I had a chance to get the Japanese release. The Walk will be released officially in the USA on May 22 .end of April in UK. There are 12 songs in the album with 2 bonus ones for Japan. They have grown quite a bit since – my old collection of Hanson’s posters now seems so outdated – at the same time I like the new kind of music they are now marking. As a friend of mine mentioned it probably would be better if they were making a bit more melodic music – but I guess they will be releasing more and more songs. The one think I am glad about is they are still around – I remember – being 12 , fan of Hanson and people saying to me “ They will disappear fast – you will see. No one will remember them “– and so you see these people were wrong.
The Walk is the group’s first studio album since 2004’s Underneath. They had a series of c
Twelve and Holding (2005) 2007-03-02 01:22:07 “12 and holding” is another great movie directed by Michael Cuesta, who recently became my favorite movie director. If you are looking for a fine Coming out of Age story – chances are that that you will find it all in “12 and holding”. It is a simple story – without much special effects or famous actors playing – but the way the story is shown will make you remember what you’ve seen .One could say that the movie was disturbing – as it showed things most people would never want to happen to them or their kids – at the same time everything seems to real. One just couldn’t miss the exceptional performance of the young Conor Donovan who plays two roles – and does it so well, that I have to admit that I haven’t noticed that both boys are played by the same actor.
The soundtrack is extremely powerful – especially the melancholic music in some scenes. The theme song from it is called “Reckless burning” and it is performed by Jess Read more:Twelve
The one thing I really hate ! 2007-02-22 08:50:15 I was planning to write this post at the morning – but was not able to. Now at 16.39 I am writing it, but it will not look like the one I planed to write. It was going to be about the stories I read before going to bed each night and the dreams inspired by them – a positive post over all. Now I can only say that if there is something I hate more than anything in this world this is the uncertainty – as my mother says – bad outcome sometimes can me better than constant hell caused by that same uncertainty I hate so much – I couldn’t agree more.
The way to deal with all that – if I only knew, thankfully I have made some new friends and have few projects in mind which main purpose is to fill that emptiness in me right now – and to allow me do to something I am passionate about – this blog itself is such a thing, but I guess it is just not enough.
So I will visit the pool like I do everyday and will spend time in the sauna, even trough I doubt that this will be able to rel
Thinking while in the pool 2007-02-20 14:36:27 Just came back from the Pool - it is 10.30 pm since I am swimming at the evening and usually spend about 3 or 4 hours hanging out at the spa center. I noticed an interesting thing - when I am swimming I tend to think about different things , or persons - like yesterday I was rememering things that have happened with a friend of mine and was thinking about that over and over again - I must have made about 1 km without even realising it. There is a new project I may start too - like a hobby I guess - new web site to be precise - but this is still an indea under development and for now I can only tell you this. Below is a pic of the pool I swim at :
Jesus Camp 2007-02-18 17:06:29 Watching this movie made me really, really sick – it is like a horrible fairly tale or even worse that that – because what thee movie showed is actually happening – in the US and in other countries. I am watching how the kids are being manipulated and wonder why there is not anyone there with some brain in his mind – to stop all that madness. How can these people do that – religion – playing with the feelings of the people, with their beliefs? Organizing weird shows – getting the politic involved with the religion and vise versa. Honestly I am glad that this is not happening near me – but it will soon – just few months ago there was an American organization advertising a movie of Jesus
for kids – and after seeing this movie I feel really shared that someone is trying to plan those filthy weeds . There are normal churches, and normal people who are Christians or not – have believes and live by them, but do not manipulate other people – especially kids – th

Svolochi 2007-02-13 02:04:44 Recently I have noticed that the Russians began to make very good movies – and Svolochi is for sure one of them. The action is really moving – while the viewer has a choice - to sympathize with the young criminals who seemed doomed to die or to look at them from a different perspective. Some of the boys were caught for committing crimes such as murders and they were given a chance between death and training in a military preparing them for risky missions behind the enemy lines. The movie does not do very good on the realistic scale but still seeing it is worth it as it has some quite emotional moments and the acting was pretty decent. The music in the movie is really nice - I have been listening to the theme song over and over again - you can listen to it at the youtube video I`ve posted below :

Spartacus - Le Gladiateur 2007-02-10 04:58:17 There is a new musicale out there – or it might not be new, but I just discovered it this morning. It is called Spartacus
- Le Gladiateur, and trough I wasn’t able to find much information about it – I saw that there is a DVD release available. I am posting a short video clip from the musicale I found at You Tube. The choreography looks really amazing and the voice of the boy who sings is truly angelic – but sees it for yourself:
Thanks to joe-topc - the text of the song in English :
FATHER WHERE ARE YOU ?
I’m strong
It’s far
When there remains just a single breath
You give it to another
Father where are you ?
Lost…
The earth is turning red & my lips can still move
You said:”be strong”
You said:”I hope.”
Unknown…
Father where are you ?
Father would you have lost me ?
In this life of chains & wounds of suffering and injury.
You said : ” be tough”
You said: ” be proud.”
Where are you ?

Mysterious Skin 2007-02-09 05:58:33 I have to admit that if I first didn’t stumble on that movie on IMDb I wound have not even know about it. It is almost 2 am and I just took the DVD out of my computer. Have to admit that this is one of the most brilliant films I have ever watched.
The movie shows the growth of two boys – in parallel - they both were abused as kids from they Baseball coach and are striving to find a way to cope with the past. Whatever happened back then seems to be shaping their personality – but in a different way. When I think about it – it is only natural that people are different and, being so they perceive different events and situation in their own unique way.
Mysterious skin – you may wonder why they picked such a name for that movie, but I am sure that by the time the last credits roll you will have some idea. What would be the life of the boys, if things happened differently? That is the question you have to answer for yourself.
There are quite a few sex scenes, which I didn&rsquo
You won`t remember me 2007-02-08 01:22:36 Someone sent me a poem - I like it - it is kind of cool getting such e-mails from anonymous people - I guess . Here is it :
You won`t remember me
Seems impossible to me
Through the years and tender times
You should walk away so free
Leave me here behind the lines
Just the image of your face
Is like a memory made of glass
It can shatter in the wake
When I feel you rushing past
Time takes all wounds seriously
You won’t remember me
You won’t remember me
Though I kept watch all through the night I didn’t sleep
You won’t remember me
You won’t remember me
In the turning of a head
Like a dream that ends in dawn
Wanna curl you in my bed
Just one time before you’re gone
Time takes all wounds seriously you won’t remember me you won’t remember me
Though I kept watch all through the night I didn’t sleep you won’t remember me you won’t remember me
So onward like a soldier I go
I’ll find you someday but you won’t know m

How to send an anonymous e-mail 2007-02-07 03:19:54 I have been looking for ways to send e-mail without revealing my identity. Everyone has right to protect his/her privacy – and so do I. Many articles are available on the net and from them I have learned that the best way to send anonymous
e-mails and the more secure one is stand alone program – at the same time the web based solutions are not that good – trough they can do the job when you are in a hurry.
I found this site: http://www.mysecretgreetings.com/ and so far I think that it does a great job if you want to be the secret admirer of someone. Hushmail.com is another popular solution but I still have to check it – as I have read few critics about the way it handles e-mails.
The sonnets of Shakespeare 2007-02-06 07:08:09 I already mentioned the sonnets of Shakespeare
in a movie review that I wrote, but decided to write a separate post about them. Few years ago one girl sent me some – back then I was totally hocked and even felt in love with her – weird one I must say , as I never really saw her – we were just exchanging letters and phone calls ( I wasn’t much on the Internet back then).
Since then I have watched quite a few movies in which the sonnets were mentioned - and decided to post few here:

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date.
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course untrimmed.
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st;
Nor shall death brag thou wand'rest in his shade,

Girls 2007-02-03 16:13:53 I shall be writing about girls now – and myself I guess. Sometimes I honestly do not know what they want. Like tonight – a nice party at a friend’s house and then there is that girl who says “I know a lot about psychology “and I am like “Interesting …did not know that “– and she goes on with “Yea you wouldn’t know, because you never talk to me “.
And so I am supposed to talk - but there is a music playing , and I am enjoying myself – dancing , feeling the vibes – as about talking gee –about what ….? Usually it all comes naturally – the talking part I mean – and then my friend says – “what are you thinking of, you can’t deal with a 16 years old “. Damn – well may be I can’t – I may have forgotten it all – after all quite some time has passed….
The thing is that I do not want to be some kind of an idiot – but – yeaa I may sound like such – or look like one , just because of writing this things right now – but who cares Read more:Girls
Save streaming videos and convert them – online. 2007-02-03 01:31:32 Few months ago I wrote a post about saving videos
from You Tube. Since then I have been trying to find another solution. Using Replay AV was find way of saving the streaming videos – but it yet software that needs to be installed on the computer. I do not need it anymore and neither do you – because a new web site has appeared – VIXY. The site converts a Flash Video / FLV file (Youtube’s movie, etc) to MPEG4 (AVI/MOV/MP4/MP3/3GP) file and all of this is made online
almost in real time. ( go to vixy.net)
Au Revoir Les Enfants 2007-02-02 00:45:28
One movie of Louis Malle , Au Revoir Les Enfants was an OK movie – but probably only because of the excellent acting of Gaspard Manesse in the role of Julien Quentin who is an eleven yearld old boy sent to a catholic school in the countryside away from the bombing of Paris during the WWII. In the school Julian meets Jean Bonnet – who is actually a Jew boy who is hidden in the school under fake name.
The issues of the friendship and betrayal are the main pillars around which the acting evolves. There are quite a few social issues explored as well. Looking at the latest movies I have seen I notice a trend – most of them are French movies , about friendship and have something to do with a boarding school or some similar institution – and I guess can be all characterized as coming out of age ones.
Not the best movie I have seen , but still pretty good one and I am glad that I had the chance to see it.

Amitiés particulières, Les 2007-02-01 02:03:30
“A masterpiece…shocking in the best sense of the word” (L.A. Times).
At first I did not think that the movie will be interesting. But I soon changed my opinion. The fact that the movie is in black and white makes it even more appealing than if it was in colour. The action takes place in a boarding school located in France. Actually the scenes from the dinning room reminded me of the movies for Harry Potter.
The main characters are Georges de Sarre – 16 years old student and the young Alexandre (age 12) who is a student at the same school. Their friendship is really beautiful – and heart touching. It sure brought some old memories too.
There is a lot of poetry in this movie – it seems that I am getting hocked to poetry- again! Few years ago there was a girl who was sending me sonnets of Shakespeare. I even tried to write some poems myself.
I still haven’t finished watching the movie – it turned out to be on two CDs and I only got one of t
Song for a Raggy Boy (2003) 2007-01-31 14:02:06 I watched this movie with tears in my eyes. No other movie until know was able to make me feel such pain – almost physical just from watching the story that unfolds on the screen. With risk to repeat myself I must note that this was probably the hardest movie to watch from all I have seen until the moment.
I made few notes when it started – there were about the interesting characters, the song of Libera I noticed – but now I can not really write about that. Shocking, painful, cruel, realistic to the core – I can go on like this for a long time. The fact that “Song for a raggy boy” is based on a true story contributes to the powerful effect this movie has on its viewers.
The acting is quite good as well – so good that I felt like I knew some of the characters in person. The young actors were really convincing and I felt Delaney and Mercier almost like my friends. But let me tell you a bit more about the movie – it is set in a reformatory school run by the catholi
