Junior Eurovision 2007 2007-06-27 15:59:55 I was surfing today trying to find some more information about the new edition of the song contest EurovisionJunior
. For those of you who never heard of it - it is just like the official version of Eurovision - only the contestants are much more talented and cooler. Antonio Jose and Razz - both favorite singers of mine began their careers with participation in the contest.
So what`s new about the 2007 contest - it will be held in Netherlands on 8th of December and will have four more countries making their debut - Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia and Lithuania - since I am familiar with two of these countries I am afraid that they will not be able to prepare well - as in general the concept of Eurovision Junior is unfamiliar to them - and they will pick some representative using more or less unfair methods ( the son of someone …etc ) instead of making a big contest as this is done in Russia, Spain and the other more established countries that have their representatives at EVJ
First days at the sea 2007-06-25 14:40:08
Just came back from the sea shore. Spent wonderful 4 days there. When I arrived I did not know anyone - but was tired from the trip at the same time. As soon as I set up my tent I went for a walk to the nearby talk ( 3km ) to get myself a book to read while on the beach. There I met a friend of mine who got a job in some t-shirt place making all kinds of stamps - he even asked me if I was going to stay for a while or look for a job - and I told him that me and my cousins are planning to come for a longer vacation next month and I was just checking the place out.
When I returned to the tent I was tired and went to sleep. Honestly the first night was not very comfortable - but it has been one year since I was camping . When I woke up the next morning I went to the camping to have breakfast and get a newspaper. Then as I walked by the breakfast place there was that girl who asked me where did I get the newspaper . I answered here and then she asked me if I was with the blue tent - Read more:First
Photo sharing 2007-06-03 10:32:37
Ever since I got my new digital camera I start looking for a good photo sharing web site. I do have about 7000 pictures taken in the course of 5-6 years on my computer , but most of them are not big in size nor in resolution. Now the photos I take are commonly over 1 MB in size - and finding a good site that allows full size sharing can be a challenging task. I have to admit that I do not like photobucket for variety of reasons - not enough features , limited uploads ..etc. I used to have an account there , but found myself using it less and less.
For quick posts and staff I have been using ImageShack.us and there did not have that less then 1.5 MB limit - I would have liked them even more. Still they have done some major improvements - but somehow still seem to lack that community feel. Imageshack.us is perfect for blogs and most images on mine are hosted there.
Flickr is nice - I have been using it for a while now - even in this blog as you may have noticed . However the 10 Read more:Photo
Photography 2007-05-18 16:27:12 As you already know (link) I am going to acquire a new digital camera - I am just waiting for the store I found it to start selling it - as they have already sold all units from the model I like . No wonder since they offer 1 GB CD card with it for free - while the same camera elsewhere goes for the same price , but with no extras.
I am getting a lot of inspiration these days and have decided to explore the world of digital photography - I know that probably the camera I have selected is not the most suitable for that - since it is not professional - but still it is a good one to start learning with. Someday I hope to me able to make at least half as good photos as the one taken by Mark Tucker - he has a wonderful web site on which you can see some examples of his work (link) - beware you can spend hours there as his photography is really, really nice.
Then there is Tim White - Sobieski (link) , he is more a multimedia artist - but just check out the photos included in his pr

Digital cameras 2007-05-14 09:48:45 I am looking for a new digital camera. After seeing what I can get from the big tech stores – now it is the review phase – meaning I am checking out the reviews of several models I like. This may take some time – as I tend to be very picky and consider every opinion – but may be it is for better – and may be not.
For now I am looking at:
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8(link)
The problem with this one seem to be the image noise - it was my first pick and if I do not find anything better I will get it.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3(link)
I do not know much about this model - it seems more compact than the previous one , but the quality issue may still be present.
I am also looking at one Sony model and may get something even better - but with no warranty - but will have to make a few calls and see what is in store.
It ain`t easy.

Latest mergers 2007-05-08 00:58:07 I have been following the latest takeovers – Microsoft wanting to buy Yahoo (link), Photobucket purchased by MySpace ( link) - and then Yahoo itself shutting down YahooPhotos in favour of Flickr.
I do not think that these mergers are for good – through I do realize that the services these sites may become more reliable. However this merging is a bit disturbing – as people are left with fewer possibilities – even through new start up sites appear almost everyday – may be each of their creator’s dreams for the day when he will be offered 50 k for the exceptional value he provides to his users …
It seems to me that it all started when Google purchased YouTube (link) - and since then everyone got crazy about these takeovers and mergers .

Magic Realism 2007-05-07 06:14:23 I stumbled upon some great works by the Canadian painter Rob Gonsalves. For dreamers like me, the art of Gonsalves in a great source of inspiration. Below you can see my favorite painting titled Flight Plan :

Memories 2007-05-03 01:51:07
I was listening to Seven Days by Craig David this morning – this song always reminds me of my friends from the US. I even remember that last time I was listening and singing to it we were travelling with his mother’s Van – from Bath (where we played laser tag) to his home – which was somewhere around Fryeburg, Maine. That day I watched the Matrix for the very first time as he was a fan of that movie and we both played on his cool drum set. It seems like all that just happened yesterday – while the truth is that four years have passed since then – not that those four years are a lot of time …

Lifehacker and MakeUseOf 2007-04-29 14:13:54 I would like to show you two great sites I have been following lately. Lifehacker
and MakeUseOf. Lifehacker is full of interesting articles about technology and it also has some great posts about everyday life issues and idea. For example some of the recent articles there which I have starred at my Google reader are:
Use Google Calendar to schedule relaxation(link)
LH Top 10: USB thumb drive tricks (link)
Make an emergency romance kit (link)
Ask the Readers: Best Symbian apps?(link)
Get the best shave possible(link)
You got the idea. The only thing that bothers me is that you have to be registered in order to leave your own comments there - but I have done it and I guess many will as the community around f and the discussions are great - informative and useful.

MakeUseOf is the place where I have found the most usefull sites and services . The site has well writen About page ( link ) in which if I may quote is written :

Summer plans 2007-04-24 01:11:15 The summer is getting closer and I started planning for my vacation. So far I have decided to do a 10 days bike tour at the Mountains – the only thing that has to be solved is whether I would go with some kind of organisation ( would cost me about 150 euro ) or by myself ( almost free ) . There are advantages and disadvantages in both option – I have never done that before so going with people who know what is going on – could be wise, and I could make many new friends too – only my mother is getting wild – telling me that the money are too much – after all they want them only for the organisation – the nights are to be spend at my own tent and I would have to buy the necessary food myself. My dad however liked the idea …
Also I know for sure that I am going to be at the Sea Shore for July morning – and then will return there like in the middle of July to spend about a month – there …It is only that I am not sure who is going to come with me – but I know from ex Read more:plans

Nobody Knows 2007-04-20 17:56:19 The acting is good , the story as well - it is a coming of age story and still the movie seemed a bit too long and slow paced. I liked some of the scenes - and really admired what the young Akira did for his brothers and sisters - he was taking care of them when they were abandoned by their mother - locked between four walls - no one knew about them.
Just a minute ago while I was checking out the movie at Wikipedia ( link ) - I saw that the movie is based on a real story - which is shocking indeed. The movie has good rating both at IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes , so I guess I have missed somethin while watching the movie.
The song for the movie is touching - as you can hear for yourself in the video below :

Hearts of Atlantis 2007-04-18 17:29:10 Not only this is a good coming of age movie – but when it finished I had to question myself who actually learned more – Bobby Garfield or me. I felt inspired – somehow I was able to relate a lot of the experience of the boy to my own when I was his age and am wondering now if other people who have seen “Hearts
of Atlantis
“would feel the same way?
Take only this quote that refers to the first kiss for example:
It will be the kiss by which all others in your life will be judged… and found wanting.
Or that one:
Why do we always expect home to stay the same? Nothing else does.
Before seeing the opening credits I did not know that the movie is based on a book by Stephen King. He is one of my favorite writers and he has that talent not only for horrors but and for coming of age stories – just take “Stand by me”, “Silver bullet “, “IT “and many, many others.
“Hearts of Atlantis “ has crates a unique atmosphere – real one – soon after I started wa

Pelle the Conqueror 2007-03-31 15:07:45 Sometimes I stumble on a movie which all of the sudden turns out to be a real masterpiece. Pelle the Conqueror really surprised me – touching story told in a unique way. Pelle is a boy from Sweden who immigrates to Denmark with his dad after the death of his mother. They are both full of hope – hope for a new beginning – and there is a scene in the boat on which Pelle wants to hear over and over about the new country they will be living at:
Tell me about it again, papa. It’s very different this new country.
- You’ll hardly…
- You’ll hardly believe your eyes. They put raisins in the pork roastand butter on your bread…Some places they put butter on your bread.- And kids are free all day.
- Yes, Pelle, yes. Wages are so incredibly high, that kids…That kids don’t have to work.
It sounds too good to be true – may be not for you – but imagine what those words meant for a boy who is used to live in a missy , probably du

A new girl which I like 2007-03-23 17:22:02
There is that girl that I like – I do not know much about here through – only her name and the school she goes to. We met in the Sauna at the Pool place I go to- but since then we did not really have time to talk or anything. Today she was training in the fitness downstairs, but with me being sick at the moment (I think I caught a flu) - I couldn’t really talk with her. Still when I get well I may start going to the fitness more often – even through that this is not one of my favorite places – I prefer swimming…well will see what will happen.
Btw she kind of looks like this anime girls I like so much ( :
