Animal Abuse & Neglect

I was inspired to share my insight on Animal Abuse & Neglect after recently reading on my local craigslist about a woman giving away two of her cats only to find out somehow that the adopter tortured and killed them. This directly relates to my most recent statement about deeply believing in respecting the Earth and ALL of it’s inhabitants. I also have to add that I am a committed animal lover. A Taste of Samhain

The vibrant colors of Autumn are always magnificent. I’ve watched the trees in our backyard as they slowly gained their hues of red, gold, and yellow. All the leaves whimsically fluttering to the ground. Yesterday and the day previous I brought them all together to make a splendid leaf pile for my children to heave themselves into; whisking mounds of leaves into the air as they plop right down in the middle in fits of laughter. Autumn is such a fascinating time of year. It represents how things come to change. With the change brings October my favorite month as it leads into Samhain . A witch’s new year. Samhain means “summer’s end”.  Samhain begins at Sundown on October 31st. It is said that on Samhain the veil between the two worlds, humans and spirits is the thinnest. Some also say the doors to the Faery Realm opens and the dead come to visit their kin once more. Since ancient times in Ireland, Scotland, and England, October 31st has been celebrated


Spiritual Introspection

I actually found myself hesitant to write my perspective of spiritual matters. Than I concluded that those who dis-agree and those who may agree are welcome to freely share their own standpoint on the topic. It truly does not matter to me what path you take to get where you’re going - I remain non-judgemental and have really enjoyed learning about all faiths, cultures, and how they have come to be. I suppose you could say I am open-minded however in a very positive light or perhaps eclectic. I will not debate and certainly not push my own choices in beliefs, morals, and values on another being. I find that - it is disrespectful. I simply believe that we all here for a reason. (more…)
