Post Thanksgiving Blasphemy
2007-11-24 14:30:00
Panaji, Nov 24: A German filmmaker is planning a fictional film on twin brother of Jesus Christ which will take shape once he gets a Indian co-producer for the film that would be shot in Indian background.Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving - now let's kick off the Christmas season with what has the potential to be the funniest movie ever made. Don't you already see the first scene of this movie? Some leper comes crawling up to Jesus begging for salvation and some comfort during this horrible time of pain. Jesus looking all serious bends down and tells the poor bastard that he'll gladly relieve his pain and suffering, then pours some water on his forehead. Only nothing happens and the Jesus character ends up being Craig Christ his twin brother - SYKE! This script basically writes itself from there.

Happy Thanksgiving Nation. In honor of this the greatest of American holidays celebrate by finding a Native American family and giving them a blanket infected with small pox. Enjoy the turkey everyone we'll be back when the booze wears off.

The Value Of A Barber
2007-11-21 10:42:00
I remember maybe a month or so ago my life partner Steg from "My Brain Says Rage" did a post about his hair dresser and potentially being sexually abused by him in the chair. Personally I find it amusing that someone who loves "Project Runway" and visits a flamboyantly gay hair dresser while not having sex still tries to pass himself off as anything less then a boa wearing queen - but the bigger question was how valuable is a barber or in the case of shemales everywhere a hairdresser? For a good portion of my life I had my haircut by my mother - this had less to do wth the fact that my family was poor and cheap and more to do with the fact that my mother was in fact a hairdresser. However, since I stopped living in the same house as my mother, and she now lives an hour away I have had to put on my big boys pants and start going to a barber. I refuse to go a hairdresser because it always smells like New Jersey in there and I'm afraid a pair of scissors will take a wrong turn at my ear a

Suddenly Single
2007-11-20 11:33:00
At the risk of at least making the First Lady of SPSR Nation nervous with this headline I figure it was fitting because as of 10:30 AM this morning I am no longer a writer at Epic Carnival. Now this whole turn of events was completely amicable on both sides so you shouldn't expect any harsh words from my end about the way things went down - it just became too much for me to juggle all the stuff I have going on not the least of which is finals quickly approaching so I thought it would be best for my sanity, and Doug's patience to walk away.I wanted to take a moment to recognize Epic Carnival because even though I was not always on the same page with some of the directions that the site went, and I wasn't always the biggest fan of everything that we did (and I say we because I include myself in that group) I still had a great experience there and I appreciate being given the opportunity. I joined up with EC right off the bat, I'm almost positive that I posted on the very first day th

Poker Is Super Awesome and Fun Gang
2007-12-07 09:52:00
If you have a television and these days who doesn't -- am I right people? Imagine if I was actually like that? Anyways one of the things that gets pushed a lot on TV these days are poker rooms - you've got rooms sponsored by professional players being pushed through strange car commercial type ads, and you've got scantily clad women talking about the great community that they've developed on such and such a site. Naturally none of these ads actually tells you anything about the poker room or the options available to you which is why FlopTurnRiver.com has come along to provide the avid online poker player with their poker room review of Full Tilt Poker . Part of the charm of FlopTurnRiver is th exclusive Full Tilt referral code that you get through their site. Basically a Full Tilt Poker referral code is a chance for you get bonus cash when you deposit on the site so it's a great opportunity if you need more money to lose to some guy living in his mothers basement. Tom Brady Makes Vanessa Hudgens Cry
2007-12-06 10:24:00
To child predators around the world "High School Musical 2" was the greatest gift that Disney could have given the world and the audience responded by making it the highest rated cable television program of all time. Remember for some time that award was held by the infamous "Larry can I finish?" Ross Perot debate on CNN so you know that our society as a whole is headed in the right direction. I'll take hot looking barely legal girls singing and dancing over crazy Texas billionaires every day. However the stint on top was short lived for the young ladies and effeminate males of HSM2 (that's what the cool kids call it) because the Patriots/Ravens game on ESPN Monday night pulled a 13.0 rating to become the highest rated cable television program of all time.On these interwebs I am a marked man because I admittedly root for the Patriots. Of course I was rooting for them when Drew Bledsoe came to town, I cheered for Curtis Martin and if you want to get personal about it I think Andre Tip

My Service To You
2007-12-05 10:29:00
Call me a schill, call me a sellout, call me whatever you want but I know that one of my jobs as the spokesman for a generation is to provide you with helpful links and information that will make all of your lives better. Now I realize that the internet is basically used for three things - fantasy sports, gambling and adult content which I'm not allowed to discuss on this particular post. Just trust me though these interwebs are full of two girls doing stuff with one cup that should never be tried on this planet. But the online gambling is huge, and one reason for that is the rise in Texas Hold'em. Now this won't become a Bill Simmons love fest about how great I am at poker but for a long time I spent too many hours playing online poker to the point where I fear to even open the application on my computer because of where it might take me. And if you're a Mac user (which according to my research all witty young hipsters are these days) you are already well aware that most poker site

Samari Rolle Is An Idiot
2007-12-05 09:55:00
So it looks like Samari Rolle wants to round up Kenneth Starr and launch an investigation into an NFL official calling him "boy" during the Ravens collapse against the Patriots Monday night. My favorite quote following the game from Rolle was this one which basically tells you all you need to know about the entire ordeal -"I will be calling my agent in the morning and sending my complaint. I have a wife and three kids. Don't call me a boy. Don't call me a boy on the field during a game because I said, 'You've never played football before."It's interesting that Samari Rolle took such offense to a man who had "never played the game before" disrespecting him by calling him a boy. I mean what type of a no good low down piece of trash is this "no. 110" who would dare to disrespect Samari Rolle...I mean do you know who Samari Rolle is? He is no boy that's for sure, he has a wife and kids and he has forgotten more about football then that official will ever know. Or has he? Because it t

No Right To Be Undefeated
2007-12-04 08:34:00
UPDATE (1:49 PM) - There seems to be a lot of talk today about the time out rules in the NFL. Apparently the Ravens defensive coordinator called the fourth down time out that wound up costing the Ravens the game in some round about way and as it turns out only the head coach has the authority to make that call. Some people are going to blame the refs for listening to someone who doesn't have the authority to make a timeout call but shouldn't this completely be placed on the Ravens defensive coordinator. If the rule is that you can't call a timeout why in the hell is he yelling "TIME OUT" into the ear of an official with his back turned? Sorry Baltimore but you're going to have to bite the bullet on that one - there might have been some bad calls in that game but the time out call wasn't one of them.-----First off I'm not going to come out and side with the Ravens defense calling the officials in this game crooked, or calling the NFL corrupt because they're trying to help the Pat

West Virginia Screws The Pooch
2007-12-03 10:37:00
I wanted to talk about this yesterday but I'm swamped with work for school so from here on out be forewarned that the updates might be sparse. Heading into Saturday night it was pretty clear that one of the Top 2 teams in the country would lose setting up a situation where Ohio State could slide into the National Title game without having played since 1975. All signs pointed to Missouri being the team that lost because the Big 12 was a fraud conference all season, Kansas and Missouri were both slightly above average teams and it was pretty well agreed upon that Oklahoma was the best team in the Big 12. So should we have been surprised when they beat Missouri? Of course not. Do you ever remember the #1 team in the country not being favored in a Championship game - gimme a break Missouri you were a fraud team and you got exposed. The real surprise to me was West Virginia coming up short against the coaching mastermind that is Dave Wannstedt and his crutches. I don't think anyone has lo

Taylor Suspects Arrested
2007-12-01 08:49:00
Say what you will about our justice system and the police force but when the son of a police officer, and super rich man is murdered in his home they put the pedal to the floor when trying to make an arrest. Had Sean Taylor been just any other African American male shot and killed in his home these four idiots would have been running free for the rest of their lives. Maybe that is an unfair generalization but you all know you're thinking it and just because I'm not Jason Whitlock doesn't mean I can't say it.The Miami-Dade County Police are saying that this was a burglary gone wrong which raises a strange thought in my head. What if the break in last week where a knife was left on the pillow of Taylor was not related to his murder? It seems like everyone who knew him believed this to be an act of retribution, and that Taylor had been singled out by these guys which is why they were in his house in the first place. But what if this is just a strange coincidence and these four Rhodes

R.I.P. Evel Knieval
2007-11-30 20:22:00
He broke every bone in his body trying to jump the fountain at Caesar's Palace, he almost drown trying to jump the Snake River Canyon and he was almost killed more times then anyone will ever be able to count. But after failing for years the Grim Reaper finally claimed Evel Knieval today at the age of 69. It's weird to think about how X-Games and the extreme sports atmosphere has changed over the years but Knievel was doing stunts that today seem pretty average at best. Except he was doing them on a glorified moped, over a ramp put together by thumb tacks and a prayer so the fact that he lived as long as he did is a miracle. When I told my father that Knievel had died his first question was "what did he die from?" Then he paused a second and thought "actually I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter." That's the truth about Knievel because he was living on borrowed time and today that ride ended. So R.I.P. to a true legend in sports and entertainment. After the jump check out the famous

A "Great" Opportunity
2007-11-30 09:59:00
I don't go throwing around the idea that something has the potential to change the landscape of the internet blogging community forever very often but my heterosexual life partners at My Brain Says Rage shined a light on blogvertise for me and I feel it's my duty to pass along this transcendent opportunity to you. Now blogvertise is a chance for your fearless leader here to attempt to make money while doing well I'm not entirely clear on what I'd be doing - sorry I don't have the attention to read the actual requirements. As someone who has a laundry list of needs and a very limited funds supply this seemed like a "great" opportunity so I signed up. The one caveat seems to be that they do not like adult/pornographic material and nothing could make me happier because if there is one thing that I can't stand it's adult pornography. Eck. If there is one thing about this site that I think we can all agree on it's that nothing that has ever gone on here could be classified as adult

How Bad Are The Knicks?
2007-11-29 20:45:00
Do you realize how pathetic you have to be in order to be considered an embarrassment to the NBA? I am currently watching the Boston Celtics absolutely humiliate the Knicks at the TD Banknorth Garden to the tune of 65-31 with 8:00 minutes to go in the third quarter - and there isn't a single Knick on the bench or on the floor who looks like they give a damn. I think the most energy I've seen out of the Knicks was during the opening tip off - although I am unable to see what is happening during commericals but I can only assume that some of the Knicks players are showing some interest in the Celtics dancers. The situation in New York is so pathetic that when the game began Marv Albert told us that Isiah Thomas is so paranoid about being in Boston that he ate a bag of popcorn last night for dinner because he was afraid of what might happen to his food if he called for room service. If Isaiah is afraid to eat in Boston he must be living in a bomb shelter and sleeping with a shotgun like

We Should Expect More Of This
2007-11-28 07:48:00
I've talked about my disdain for the Dennis & Callahan show on WEEI before. I realize that I bring this sort of agony upon myself when I listen to them even though I know that anything they say will just get me upset - but with the unfortunate events surrounding the death of Sean Taylor I just had to know what D&C would be talking about today. For those of you who don't know who these two idiots are they're the most comically conservative sports radio hosts in the world. If you turned them on and didn't know any better you'd have no idea you were listening to a sports talk radio show. My favorite D&C fight was with Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick who they talked about as a rich, uber-villain about three weeks before they left the air to hold out for six figure contracts. Nothing says being worth your paycheck like being paid six figures to talk into a microphone for four hours a day, five days a week, 47 weeks a year. That's not my concern today though because D&C delivered t

The Worst Thing Ever
2007-11-27 09:38:00
If there is only one thing that readers of SPSR know about me it's that I love to play video games. For a very long time I was loyal to Sony and the Playstation gaming console. I had both the PS1 and PS2 but when the next gen consoles started rolling out I made the choice to switch to the XBox 360 because everyone agreed that the better games would be coming out for the Microsoft product. Right now my room is full of games that I have half beaten, and my list to Santa includes Mass Effect, Call of Duty 4, and an assortment of other XBox 360 games that will help me shut off the outside world and just be a vegetable. At least that was the plan until about a half hour ago. You see as an XBox 360 owner I live in a constant state of fear that the next time I turn my machine on will be the last time I turn my machine on. The three red rings of death are always in the back of my mind - to the point where I refuse to leave the machine on for longer then an hour which is both a blessing and a

Less Depressing News
2007-11-26 18:04:00
Sure I could talk about Sean Taylor but I think there are much better sites covering the whole situation and frankly I'm too divided on the whole subject to be much help. On the one hand a guy who has seemingly turned it around is someone you want to root for. On the other hand a guy who has a huge track record of being an asshole even though he's turned the corner always has that reputation and that history following him around. The reports that I have read are so confusing that it reminds me a lot like the news coming out of the Chris Benoit situation (although hopefully not as dire) in that it's obvious that nobody knows what they're talking about so why put much stake in the story. I hope that Sean Taylor is alright because I would never wish for anyone to be killed when they seemingly have started to get their life in order but that's all I'm going to say about that subject. The other major news story floating around these interwebs this afternoon is the divorce of Linda and

Take A Seat Donovan
2007-11-26 12:25:00
Instead of talking about how lucky the Patriots were to survive last night with their perfect record in tact, I'm going to propose a question to all the Eagles fans in the audience. Isn't it time to send Donovan McNabb out to pasture? Sure A.J. Feeley showed why he is a career backup with a very poor decision in the fourth quarter that sealed the game for the Patriots, but he still played out of his mind and I think it's safe to say that McNabb has entered the final stretch of his Eagles career.Has there ever been a situation where the starting quarterback goes down with injury, the team starts playing substantially better then they were with the starter in the game and the team doesn't even bat an eyelash bringing him back to start when the injury is over? Imagine if the Patriots did what the Eagles continue to do when Drew Bledsoe got hurt in 2001. What would the fate of the world have turned out to be without Tom Brady leading the World's Most Hated Franchise towards the greate

Sean Taylor (1983 - 2007)
2007-11-27 08:07:00
I really hoped last night that I wasn't going to have to post something like this today - but one day after an apparently botched home invasion Sean Taylor has died at the age of 24. Since I don't know much about Taylor instead of writing anything here I'll use this post as a jumping point where I'll link to every story that I see about this horrible situation if you want to keep track of it. I am only one person but I want to send my prayers to the Taylor family, the Redskins and the University of Miami families as well - Rest In Peace Sean Taylor . Peter King Loses His MInd
2007-12-17 09:27:00
"Petrino pulled the most irresponsible act I've seen in coaching in the 23 years I've covered the NFL -- taking a job where it'll be easier to win and he can treat the players like doormats; and there's not a darn thing they can do about it. One last thing: If the other coaches in the SEC use Petrino's carpetbagging skullduggery against him, good for them. I hope it works. That wouldn't be negative recruiting. It would be truthful recruiting." -- Peter King, Monday Morning QuarterbackWhere do we classify this quote by Peter King on the levels of insane over the top ramblings? The most irresponsible act I've seen in coaching? Carpetbagging skullduggery? Has there ever been less of a story then this Petrino situation that has seen more blowhards absolutely lose their minds? I really didn't even want to comment about this whole situation anymore because I think it's been blown way overboard and also because I think for the most part people have moved past it but now that Peter Ki

Lets Talk Lists
2007-12-13 16:00:00
UPDATE (5:00 PM) - Alright ESPN has determined that their entire night of programming should be dedicated to this stupid story which nobody should give a shit about but if that's how it's going to be then that is how it's going to be. The official report is out, and the names have been revealed and SURPRISE there isn't one person on the list who should shock you. There will be a lot made of the Clemens/Pettitte link but if that snuck up on you you're stupid and there is nothing that I can do about that. None of these names are people that we hadn't heard about before and interestingly enough Jason Varitek (who appeared on that original list posted below) is nowhere to be found in this report. Conspiracy buffs will point to George Mitchell and how Varitek and Julian Tavarez both appeared on that first list but not in the final report and they are the only active Red Sox players that were mentioned. Personally I'd rather be prison raped by Freddy Mercury then have to hear Bud Seli

Showing Some Love
2007-12-13 07:04:00
There are very few situations when I am filled with pride towards the undergraduate University that signed my diploma. Don't get me wrong, I loved UMass - Amherst and if you're living in New England and looking for a public University to go to for college you won't have a better experience anywhere else then the you would at UMass. However, when I was at UMass I went to many basketball games when the only people in the Mullins Center were working there, or reading a book because it was quieter in the M then it was in their room. The only time that ever changed was when Boston College or UConn came to town. I still remember everything that surrounded the UMass victory over then undefeated UConn on ESPN in Amherst that wound up being replayed on ESPN Classic about a hundred times. But I never got to see my school beat Boston College...Until last night. The Minutemen improved to 7-2 with a huge 83-80 win over the BC Eagles and for most people that doesn't mean anything but trust me it

Bobby Petrino Thinks You're Stupid
2007-12-12 07:57:00
So I go away for a day and the entire sports landscape falls into the ocean. I thought about coming out here and talking about Spygate and how it's becoming abundantly clear that Eric Mangini is a big fat hypocrite who will probably be looking for a job by the end of next season. I could have asked you how you could possibly root for a guy who left the Patriots, tried to steal their personal during a plane ride before the team had even put their helmets away for the 2005 season, and then immediately upon facing his old team tried to turn them in for using a tactic which he himself had benefited from during his time standing next to Bill Belichick making him look thin? I also would have to ask how you could possibly root for a guy who was employing the same quote cheating unquote tactics one season prior to the Patriots getting caught and then acted all holier then thou when his stupid team was getting their face kicked in on opening day? But I decided to talk about Bobby Petrino inste

Law School Silence
2007-12-10 11:07:00
As most of you already know the reason I've been a little quiet as of late around here is because I'm locked into third year law school finals. Instead of getting into a long winded rant about how unfair some of these tests have been or how incredibly stressed out the entire situation has made me for no real justifiable reason I thought I'd post a commercial for law school legend Jim "The Hammer" Shapiro. Enjoy and think about me while your enjoying whatever back alley depravity you're into this week.

What I Think
2007-12-10 10:49:00
I know that after weeks of writing nothing but Patriots posts awhile back I promised to lay off but after yesterday I thought talking about the Patriots was the right thing to do this afternoon. I wanted to first comment on Peter King who doesn't believe what Anthony Smith said made a difference at all yesterday, and while I would agree that his words didn't effect the outcome of the game if you thought the Patriots didn't go out there looking directly at Smith you'd be foolish. While Troy Polamalu isn't the best deep ball defender in the league the game plan changed a little bit with Smith out there and the Patriots played loved shoving that gurantee down his throat which was obvious when you saw Tom Brady in his face jawing at him.* If you didn't actually pay attention to the Steelers/Patriots game yesterday and only listened to Phil Simms and Jim Nantz you probably thought that it was a close game and that the Steelers offense played well but in reality the Patriots dominated

How Do You Cheer For This?
2007-12-09 07:48:00
I wanted to post this the other day but I completely blanked and now with the last chance for a team to beat the Patriots until the Super Bowl and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers approaching in mere hours I thought it was the perfect time to unleash Mercury Morris on the world. If you don't know who Mercury Morris is that's probably because you weren't alive in Miami during the early 1970s and you're not related to him. However, he has made a living out of bashing the Patriots (suspicious by his absence during the Colts 13-0 run) and this might break the scale of unintentional intentional comedy. If getting rid of Mercury Morris forever is what comes from the Patriots going undefeated this season sign me up.As a related note Mercury Morris had his career year in 1972 and was still the second leading rusher on the team. So if the Patriots were to go undefeated I guess we can all look forward to Kevin Faulk rapping on Sportscenter in 2020.

SPSR For the Children
2007-12-21 07:51:00
If there is one thing that I want you all to learn from this website it's that I'm a lazy asshole. However, the second thing that I want you all to learn is that here at SPSR we care about the children, they are after all our future. With the Jamie Lynn Spears thing already having me wish a giant bookcase would comically fall on top of me crushing me to death so I don't have to hear Mary Hart talk about it for a second more at night I realize that kids are making bad decisions all over the place and as a public servant it's my job to teach them a lesson. This time of the year people jump on their soapbox and tell kids that they shouldn't drink and drive, they should always use protection when they have sex, and so on and so forth. Unfortunately if there is anything less productive then an old person telling a kid not to drink and drive it's an old person telling young Tommy to wrap his tool if he's going to defile the little Sullivan girl down the street on New Years. I'm going
